Under Fire Chapter 11

Spike O'Connelly was resting up for the return mission to the planet, second guessing herself about whether or not she should have followed Dr. Chapel and Commander Spock.

Her next thought reminded her that if they had gone down the hole then planetary security forces would not have found them, and they wouldn't be aboard ship right now.

It was strange, as she had reported to Captain Kirk, that the detail had not wanted to investigate the tunnel into which she and the others were positive that her superior officers had fallen.

Damn strange.

The president had around eight more hours to go. If he didn't cough up the rest of their landing party, she was sure that nothing was going to stop her captain from finding them, and then she wouldn't want to be in the shoes of whoever had them.

The door swung open and one of the security men gestured to Chapel.

"You, with me!"

He hadn't noticed that their feet were untied. His mistake.

Spock kicked his knees from under him, and the goon hit the floor hard.

Christine jumped up to help and grabbed a wrench from one of the shelves.

Before she could use it, two guards stepped in. One of them placed a weapon to the side of Spock's head.

"Move back."

Christine stepped back, holding the tool. Spock rose slowly and joined her.

"Tie him, and this time make sure he doesn't get free. Bring the female."

Christine swung the wrench at the one who moved to grab her arm and he went down.

One of the others slapped her hard enough to send her to her hands and knees.

Spock could not help with the gun still at his head although he flinched when Christine fell.

"Let's go," said the one who had struck the doctor, jerking her up roughly by the upper arm. "Jefen wants you."

Christine's face was stony, but her eyes spoke volumes as she looked back at Spock when the guard took her away.

***Since the story isn't getting much attention, I think I will just wrap it up quickly on here. I will send LuAnn and Pokeman the end version, then delete it.

I should have finished it sooner. My bad.
