Hey guys, I'm finally back! For this chapter, you can thank my good friend, EmeraldWings1992 cause I jokingly offered her an award and she actually wanted one.

Shaylee: She guilted you into it.

Me: She did not!

Shaylee: Then why are you writing this?

Me: Cause I promised! But hey, it means I'm writing, right? Anyway, thanks to Urshura Maria (If you've read The Light Connecting Our Hearts or Turnabout Connections, then you'll know how the pin has been used so far. As of now, I don't think it'll become anything else.), Gry20 (I can definitely use at least parts of that idea, since I already have an idea of what Shaylee will be doing during that game. Thanks!), ChaosDancer12 (Why, thank you!), sorax33 (You'll see your idea culminate in this chapter, promise.), EmeraldWings1992 (Of course you do! Now be sure to let me know what you think of this chapter!), all 94 followers, 85 favorites and 6,123 readers! Oh, and ShadowWolf223, who reviewed my story with Emerald The Light Connecting Our Hearts, noticed something very interesting about how I've written Shaylee. I wonder if anyone else has noticed? Well, you'll get another hint here to help you out.

Shaylee: I hope you guys enjoy!

Me: Shaylee!

She was running through darkness, trying to escape…something. She didn't know what it was but she knew she had to escape.

She could feel her muscles burning, the wounds she sustained in her run only barely being felt due to the adrenaline rushing through her body and she could hear herself panting heavily.

But she couldn't stop, if she stopped then she'd never reach him, the one person she vowed to protect because he was her legacy, he more than anyone else in her mind needed to live.

Just like her teammates' legacies needed to live.

Looking to her right, she saw Aqua and, next to her, Terra. Both were as beaten and wounded as she was. Yet they still ran, for the sake of the she and he they chose.

To her left, she saw Ven. He was just like the rest of them and, just like her, Terra and Aqua, he couldn't stop running. Ven needed to protect the he that he had chosen.

She looked up and there, there was the light. The light that was the three 'he's and the one 'she' that the four running had chosen.

Sora.

Kairi.

Riku.

Roxas.

Quickly the four running stood in front of their legacies and linked hands. She grabbed Ven's, Ven grabbed Terra's, Terra grabbed Aqua's and Aqua grabbed hers.

She turned back quickly and saw, to her relief, that they were unharmed. And now, in the circle they formed stood Lea and Xion.

However, she sensed the darkness approaching and turned towards the coming storm.

She held Ven and Aqua's hands tightly, knowing this was it.

They waited for the darkness as they protected them.

They closed their eyes as they accepted their fate.

Suddenly, light flooded their vision.

Opening her eyes, she gasped.

Before her stood a half circle of people that protected her, Terra, Aqua and Ven from the darkness.

There were six of them, three men and three women.

The first woman wore a pink dress and cloak with a white cape and a mask shaped like a fox covering her face, though her smile was a strong reassurance. Her forehead, even through the mask, glowed pink in the symbol of a stylized heart.

The first man had silver hair and light blue eyes that seemed to promise safety and hope. He wore a white shirt, a black jacket, pants, gloves and boots. His smile was carefree and bright, resembling the sun to her.

The second woman had long silver hair and icy blue eyes. She wore a light green dress that seemed to flow like water at her feet, her eyes resembling a similar ocean. Her right wrist glowed a pale yellow in the symbol of a stylized heart.

The second man had light blue hair and deep gray eyes that told of unspoken wisdom. He wore a dark blue shirt, black vest, black pants and silver armor that was similar to Terra's, though his was on both arms. He held himself as a leader would.

The third woman was mostly shrouded by rainbow light though she could make out the light blue hair and icy blue eyes watching her with empathy, compassion and love as well as pride. All she knew was that she knew that woman who had a right shoulder that glowed rainbow colors in the symbol of a stylized heart.

The third man had black hair and brown eyes and was well known to her. His presence promised protection and guidance, with his white haori and light colored hakama telling her exactly who he was. He was a man who never faded from her thoughts, from her heart, the first true father she ever had.

The women held their right arms up as the men held up their Keyblades.

In unison, they spoke in a different tongue.

"Lux aeterna."

Light shot out from the women's hands and the men's Keyblades. All of it hit her head on and suddenly, in her hands was a brown leather belt with a black pouch that had a dark purple string tying it closed on it. It was similar to the ones the women all wore, with their strings being pink, yellow and rainbow respectively.

She looked at the belt then at the now fading men and women. She then turned to Terra, Aqua, Ven, Sora, Riku, Kairi, Roxas, Lea and Xion.

In a flash of light, they were gone, safe.

Then light enveloped her.

Shaylee opened her eyes to see Sora sleeping across from her and the same belt from her dream in her lap.

"Sora." Shaylee shook him awake. "Go through your exercises."

Sleepily, Sora obeyed as Shaylee opened the pouch and found a dark purple leather bound book that had a white stylized heart on the cover.

Opening it, she found a message written.

Regardless of warnings, the future doesn't scare me at all. I am here to guide you with the knowledge Destiny gives me, gives you. No matter where you go, I will be there, as long as your heart beats and your light shines as bright as Kingdom Hearts.

-The First Guardian

"Huh?" Shaylee whispered, confused.

Suddenly, words, written in the same neat, cursive scrawl as the previous message, appeared on the page.

I know what will happen and will tell you what to watch out for. I was the first Guardian of Destiny and now my soul is entrusted to guide all of the Guardians after me through this book, the Book of Destiny.

"Shaylee, Sora, get up here!" Goofy cried, "Donald says we're close to another world!"

Instantly, Sora banished the Kingdom Key and ran to the cockpit while Shaylee took her time putting the mysterious book away in its pouch before she tied the belt around her waist.

Perhaps this is how I know everything despite not playing the entire series…?

Shaylee shook her thoughts off as she reached the cockpit.

"What is that?" Donald asked.

"Wow, it's huge!" Sora gasped, his eyes wide.

"And it's coming right towards us!" Shaylee cried as Monstro swam towards them. She ducked down, as did Sora and Donald. Goofy, however, stayed standing.

"It's a giant whale!" Goofy cried in awe.

"It's Monstro!" Jiminy explained, "He's a whale of a whale, and vicious besides!"

"Whoa! Let's get out of here!" Donald cried as he tried to fly the Gummi Ship away.

"Too late! He's gonna swallow us!" Sora cried, scared.

"Hold on!" Shaylee cried as she sat down in a seat as did Sora and all four held on tightly to their arm rests as Jiminy clutched to Sora's hood.

The next thing they knew, they were inside Monstro and the world was dark.

Shaylee groaned as she woke up only to find Donald and Sora unconscious with Goofy having already woken up and using his shield to cover them.

"Huh…?" Shaylee whispered as she cleared the fog in her mind.

"You okay, Shay?" Goofy asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine." She groaned in reply before she casted Curaga on herself and their two unconscious companions.

Donald was up in minutes but Sora wasn't.

"Come on, Sora. Wake up." Shaylee whispered as she ran her hand through Sora's hair, his head resting on her lap.

"Sh-Shay?" Sora whispered as he woke up.

"There you are. You okay? Here, drink this." Shaylee quickly passed Sora an elixir she had been saving.

"Thanks." Sora smiled as he slowly stood up before the two made their way to the animals.

"Hey, Sora. Are you okay?" Goofy asked as they met up.

"I'm fine." Sora smiled. "What are you guys doing? Where are we, anyway?"

Before Shaylee could answer, a treasure suddenly was launched at them.

"Dodge roll!" Shaylee ordered and Sora and her did just that, barely avoiding the treasure.

"Uh, ya know, I think that big ol' whale Monstro just swallowed us." Goofy answered.

"That's exactly where we are. Monstro's stomach." Shaylee wrinkled her nose as she dusted herself off and took out her book. "According to this, we're only okay because of Kingdom Hearts pitying those Monstro swallows."

"Uh, what is that, anyway?" Sora asked.

"Not important now!" Donald cut in. "What's important is-"

"Today's weather: expect showers." Goofy finished just as another treasure hit his shield. "Heavy showers!"

"Hey!" Donald yelled, "Who's there?"

"It's me." None other than Pinocchio called down as he leaned over a treasure chest he was digging through.

"Oh, it's just Pinocchio." Donald said, as if this were normal. Suddenly realizing it wasn't, he cried in shock, "Pinocchio!?"

"Pinocchio?" Jiminy called as he jumped on Sora's shoulder as the puppet walked away. "Pinocch, where are you going? Pinocch!" The puppet didn't answer so Jiminy turned to the party. "Come on, everybody! After him! Quick!"

"Well, then let's go!" Shaylee cried as she led the way, fearlessly diving into the water to swim after Pinocchio. Of course, as soon as they were out of the water, she quickly muttered Lea's Flame to rid them of the smell as well as the water.

They found Pinocchio talking to Geppetto about how a gummi block would help them escape, which Sora confirmed.

"So, how did you end up here, Pinocchio?" Sora asked.

"Jiminy's been worried." Shaylee added as they climbed onto the boat.

"Oh, my. So, the whale swallowed all of you, too? My goodness." Geppetto said in shock.

"Yeah, looks like it." Sora confirmed, which earned him a hit to the head. "Shay!" Sora cried.

"No being rude, especially to your elders!" Shaylee lectured as she casted Cure.

"Sorry." Sora apologized with a sheepish smile.

"Oh, you're quite alright, my boy!" Geppetto smiled. "My name is Geppetto. I'm Pinocchio's father. When we got separated, I traveled all over, looking for him. Thank goodness we're together again."

"That always does help in bad situations, having your family with you." Shaylee agreed with a smile. "Whether they're blood or not."

"That's right." Geppetto smiled as he bent down and picked up the gummi block. "So, you seem to know Pinocchio quite well. I hope he was a good boy in my absence. Well, we've all had quite a journey. Right Pinocchio?" Geppetto turned but his son was wandering further into Monstro. "Pinocchio?"

"Don't worry, we'll find him!" Sora said before he took off.

"Sora!" Donald cried as he followed.

"Wait up!" Goofy added.

"You don't ditch your friends, idiot!" Shaylee cried as they ran into the chamber.

Sure enough, they found Pinocchio hiding.

"There he is!" Donald pointed out.

"Hey, Pinocchio!" Goofy called.

"What are you doing?" Sora asked.

"Let's head back to your dad, okay?" Shaylee suggested in her motherly voice.

"You know, Geppetto's awfully worried about you." Goofy said.

"Pinocchio, stop fooling around! This is no time for games!" Sora scolded before he, Donald and Goofy began to walk back. Before Shaylee could hit him over the head again, That's not how you talk to children! on the tip of her tongue, a new voice spoke up.

"But, Sora, I thought you liked games." Riku taunted as said boy turned to see his silver haired friend. Shaylee glared at him as she held her bandaged right hand. "Or are you too cool to play them now that you have the Keyblade?"

"Shut up, Riku!" Shaylee shouted, "We shouldn't be listening to a word you-" Shaylee cut herself off with a scream as her hand began to burn.

Blood came from the bandages but as soon as the Guardian stopped speaking, the blood stopped as well. Cursing under her breath, Shaylee banished the old bandages, revealing the multiple cuts now lining her right hand, and summoned a new one to wrap up her hand again. She knew right away what that was: a warning to not say a word.

She became aware of Sora, Donald and Goofy surrounding her, Donald whispering Cure under his breath.

"Really? This is your teacher? She falls just from speaking!" Riku mocked.

"Shut up." Shaylee growled. "What are you doing here?"

"Just playing with Pinocchio." Riku smirked.

"You know what she means!" Sora protested. "What about Kairi? Did you find her?"

"Maybe. Catch us and maybe I'll tell you what I know." Riku proposed.

"Come on!" Sora protested.

Riku grabbed Pinocchio and ran into the next chamber.

"You okay to go, Shay?" Goofy asked, concerned.

"I'm fine." Shaylee shook off their concern. "My mouth got me in trouble, that was a warning. I'll be fine."

"Okay…" Sora said, unsure.

"Then let's go!" Donald nodded.

They chased Pinocchio through several before they finally ran into Riku. By this point, Shaylee was feeling her warning all over. Her muscles ached and she needed a potion or elixir cause a Cure wasn't helping.

Sora just passed her one as they reached the chamber where Riku was waiting.

"Riku!" Sora cried as Pinocchio continued running. "What's the matter with you? What are you thinking? Don't you realize what you're doing?"

Shaylee glared up at the silver haired boy. She knew one day she'd think of him as a son, but right now he was a punk that needed to be taught some manners.

"I was about to ask you the same thing, Sora." Riku stated. "You only seem interested in running around and showing off that Keyblade these days."

"That's not true!" Shaylee protested, "I'd never let him act like that!"

"Yeah, okay." Riku rolled his eyes before he looked at Sora again. "Do you even want to save Kairi?"

"I do." Sora said, his voice full of sadness, of grief.

Suddenly, Pinocchio screamed.

"Pinocchio!" Shaylee, Sora, Donald, Goofy and Jiminy cried as they ran into the bowels of Monstro, Riku right behind them.

The five stared in horror at the puppet trapped in the Parasite Cage.

"Let's go!" Shaylee cried as she casted Aeroga, the wind slicing at the tentacles.

"On it!" Goofy cried as he threw his shield, lodging it in the side of the Heartless.

"Just don't hurt Pinocchio!" Shaylee cried as Donald casted Thunder.

"How do we avoid that?" Donald and Sora asked in unison as Goofy collected his shield.

"Aim where he won't come in the line of fire!" Shaylee instructed as she ducked under a tentacle, jumped in the air and casted Blizzaga on the tentacle, freezing it to the floor.

As she jumped back, Shaylee felt her back hit someone else's. She turned to see Riku wielding Soul Eater briefly before he jumped up and slashed at the head of the Heartless.

"Looks like we're on the same side, Teacher!" Riku mocked her as he ducked below the now unfrozen tentacle.

"The name's Shaylee, nitwit!" Shaylee cried as she casted Aeroga on the base as Sora jumped and slashed at the top.

"No time to be arguing!" Sora cried as Goofy caught him with his shield and launched him up again. When a tentacle hit Shaylee, Donald instantly casted Cure before following it with a Fire at the Parasite Cage.

"Aren't I supposed to say that to you and Donald?" Shaylee asked as she threw Unity of Hearts only to resummon it a second later. "Riku, Goofy, now!"

In unison, Riku cut at the top as Goofy cut at the bottom.

"Sora!" Goofy shouted. Instantly, the Kingdom Key wielder jumped up and caught Pinocchio only for the Heartless to swing at Sora and cause Pinocchio to fall through a hole, Riku right behind him.

"No!" Donald cried as he quickly healed Sora and they instantly followed after Riku.

They landed on Geppetto's ship as he yelled his son's name.

"Please, give me back my son!" Geppetto begged Riku, who was holding Pinocchio hostage.

"Sorry, old man." Riku said, "I have some unfinished business with this puppet."

"He's no puppet! Pinocchio is my little boy!" Geppetto protested.

"He is unusual. Not many puppets have hearts." Riku said, "I'm not sure, but maybe he can help someone who's lost theirs."

"Wait a minute. Are you talking about Kairi?" Sora asked, growing concerned.

"What do you care about her?" Riku said before he turned and walked away.

"Riku, get back here and return Pinocchio before I make you regret it!" Shaylee threatened, unaware of her shaking voice or her swaying.

"Sorry, I'm not too threatened by a Teacher that can't keep their word." Riku called back.

Shaylee growled in response.

"Shay, maybe you should stay back. You don't look too well." Sora suggested.

"Yeah, we can take care of Riku!" Goofy nodded.

"You just get better!" Donald ordered.

"Ugh, fine. Stupid me, messing up and getting a warning." Shaylee grumbled as she went over and sat down on the side of the ship. "Happy?"

"Yes." The three boys nodded before they followed after Riku.

Shaylee rolled her eyes as she took out her book and began to read.

By the time Pinocchio and Jiminy came running, Shaylee now had a grasp of what she couldn't do, which meant she could avoid feeling like this again.

When they came running, however, Shaylee went into full on mother mode.

"Are you okay?" She asked Pinocchio as she casted Cure, to be sure. Geppetto ran over a second later, hugging his boy tightly.

"I'm great!" Pinocchio grinned.

"I'm glad." Shaylee smiled. "Now I better reach my friends. You guys be careful."

"We will!" Pinocchio nodded.

"Thank you for everything, Ms. Shaylee." Geppetto smiled.

"Your welcome. Ready Jiminy?" Shaylee asked.

"Yep!" The conscience nodded and in a flash of light, they reached the three boys.

With everything collapsing around them, and Sora calling out for Riku, Shaylee simply grabbed all three boys and they vanished in a flash of light, reappearing in the Gummi Ship.

A second later, their ship was sneezed out by Monstro.

After all their dizziness faded, Goofy spoke up.

"I sure hope Pinocchio and Geppetto are okay." The dog said.

"They're fine, I'm sure." Shaylee smiled.

"Hopefully they landed safely somewhere." Donald added.

"Riku…" Sora whispered, his head hanging in dejection.

"I'm sure we'll see Riku again." Shaylee smiled uneasily.

"Really?" Sora asked, hope rising in his eyes.

"Yeah, really." Shaylee nodded, her smile becoming the slightest bit faker but Sora didn't notice as he took the pilot's seat eagerly, it being his turn to fly.

Shaylee headed back to her cabin, needing some sleep after everything and hoping no dreams awaited her again.

Pinocchio is the most innocent kid I've ever met. I wanted to keep him that way, just like I want to keep Sora that way. But that's impossible, they're a part of my world and that's a world where innocence doesn't last long. Riku, however, has a long way to go before he can be the kid I'll protect, even if he doesn't view himself as a kid anymore. They're all kids in my eyes and none of them deserve this.

Okay, there's the chapter!

Shaylee: Does the ending have to be so depressing?

Me: Your thoughts, not mine!

Shaylee: You're the one who writes them!

Me: Anyways, I hope you guys enjoyed!

Shaylee: Bye everyone!

Me: May-

Shaylee: Your heart be your guiding key!
