FOUR WEEKS LATER
Hilary and Ryan were walking down the hall. They turned a corner and came face to face with Travis. They both glared at him. He looked at them grinning, "Hey guys! How's it going?"
They pushed past him and walked away. He gazed after them, "Come on guys. Don't be this way. It's not my fault!"
Hilary whipped around and came storming back. She lifted her hand and smacked him across the face. He grabbed her arm as his eyes flashed, "Don't ever do that again."
Hilary's eyes started to water, "Stop acting like we're still your friends. You hurt Harry. He trusted you and you let him down. You turned our other friend against us. You changed Amanda somehow. None of us will ever forgive you!"
Travis let go of her, "I believe that the appropriate term would be ex-friend."
With that, he gave them both huge smiles and walked away. They stood there glaring after him. Ryan turned away, "Let's get out of here."
They headed to the Great Hall. Ryan pushed open the doors and they went to their table. They sat on the side facing away from the Slytherin table, with Hermione, Harry and Ron across from them. Hermione looked at Hilary, "It's not that bad you know. She still talks to us and she still wants to be our friend."
Ron glared at her, "It's deeper than that. He's totally changed her. The things she does now. The way she talks. He's turned her into a Slytherin. He walks around like he owns the place, like he can do anything he wants. He's got Amanda and Dumbledore's on his side. He's up to something Hermione and whatever it is, it can't be good."
Harry nodded in agreement, "Your right. I wanted to believe in him before. But now he's doing things that nobody can agree with."
Ryan was about to speak but before he could, he felt a hand on his shoulder, "Hey guys! Mind if Amanda and I sit with you? She would like that. She misses you a lot." Said Travis.
Amanda came up beside him, "Do you guys mind? I'm kind of sick of the Slytherins right now."
Ron spoke to her without looking away from Travis, "You can, but he can't!"
The grin that Travis had on his face faltered for a moment, "Oh? Is that right. Well what are you going to do to stop me?"
He sat down beside Ron and Harry. He pushed Ron over and said, "You can sit here, Amanda."
He then turned to Harry, "Hi."
"Hi." Replied Harry stiffly.
"How are you?" Asked Travis.
"Fine."
"It's a nice day out." Said Travis.
"It is."
Travis grinned, "How's being Quidditch Captain?"
"Fine."
"The grass is really green." Said Travis, still grinning.
The corner of Harry's mouth twitched, "Yes, it is."
"So, we're playing the non-talkative game again?" Travis asked.
"No. I'm done playing games with you." Said Harry as he turned away.
Recognizing the dismissal, Travis turned back to Amanda.
Amanda had tears in her eyes as she spoke to her former best friends, "How are you guys? It feels like I haven't talked to you in forever."
Without looking at her Ryan said, "I wonder why. What have you guys been doing all this time?"
Travis cut in before Amanda could say anything, "That isn't any of your business. She doesn't need your permission to do anything. So leave her alone because she won't tell you anything. Right, Amanda?"
Amanda looked at him, "Right. Anyways, I think we should get going. I've had enough to eat."
Travis raised his eyebrows, "You didn't even eat anything? What's your hurry?"
Amanda jumped up and smacked him across the face. His eyes widened. He looked away from her trying to stay in control. She looked down at him with rage in her eyes, "You know why I'm in a hurry Travis. Get up now! We have to get to work!"
Travis slowly rose from his seat. He turned to her glaring, "Ok, I'm going to tell you three things Amanda. One, you will never hit me like that again. Two, we'll work when I'm ready to. Three, Don't think for even a second that you're more powerful than me. So, I advise you to not start trying to push me around."
Amanda threw back her head looking him full in the face, "I'm going to tell you something now."
She then punched him in the face with as much force as she could muster. Then she stalked out of the Great Hall. Travis turned his head back his eyes were a bright red. Everyone could tell that he was slowly losing control. Dumbledore stood up quickly ready to use his wand if needed. Travis closed his eyes and took several deep breaths. He opened them and everyone was able to breathe again knowing his eyes were back to normal. He gave an award winning grin and followed Amanda from the Great Hall.
He caught up to her outside the castle as she was walking towards the main gates. He grabbed her arm and whipped her around, "That's it. I refuse to help you anymore. If you want to face Voldemort and die. Then go for it. This little partnership is now over."
He then turned around and headed back into the castle. Leaving a very angry Amanda outside. Hilary and Ryan came out of the Main Hall and headed towards her. Hilary placed her hand on Amanda's shoulder, "Are you ok? If there's anything wrong, please tell us. We could try and help you."
Amanda turned away, "The only person who can help, just walked away from me. I'm sick of waiting and asking people for help. I've learned anough. I'm leaving, so goodbye."
She walked away heading for the gates. Ryan chased after her. Before he could get to her, she pulled out her wand. A huge blast echoed from across the lake. Ryan was thrown backwards into Hilary and they were both knocked out. Amanda, teary eyed, ran the remainder of the distance to the gates. As soon as she stepped foot outside the school grounds, she turned in the air and disapperated.
