Hey there peps! Today, we're dwelling into something that is more terrifying than a comment section on the internet, The Supposive Wise Old People in RWBY!(A little girl being grabbed by Frankenstein with Ozpin's face is thrown into a river.) Did that seem stupid and make you wonder what I was thinking? Good! That put you in just the right mood!

In a grey room with windows overlooking a city and clock gears, Ironwood was grumbling at a table and moving chest pieces around, "We send our special forces to deal with this insurgent."

Qrow scoffed, "Yeah, right. Why don't you take your military and cramp it up your-"

Ozpin tapped his cane on the ground, "No, we should instead wait for our enemy to make a move."

Ironwood was silent, but nodded, "I believe that they may have infiltrated the tournament. I want to run background checks on them."

Ozpin facepalmed, "No."

Ironwood looked dumbfounded, "Why?"

"Because the story would be over in a heartbeat if we did."

Ironwood looked down to a table, "Why didn't I consider that?"

"Because, you don't possess the years of wisdom that I possess-"

-Three Days Later-

The tower was falling, while on fire and Ironwood was glaring at Ozpin, "You were saying."

"You win the background check round, but I still hold faith that sending soldiers out would have only made things worse."

Ironwood looked the other way, "Fair enough."

A bit of the building fell behind them as they stood there in silence.

-Elsewhere-

A man with white hair, white over the top mustache, and white business suit was stroking his mustache, "I want to ruin children's lives. Maybe, I should drown some puppies."

A giant bird-Grimm flew through the roof and ate him. A man, whose brown hair was around his head, had a mustache, and a very formal tuxedo, was watching with concern, "Oh no."

His eyes turned red and he laughed maliciously, "Good, good."

-Unknown-

Glynda was sitting at a green table with two others. One was a fat man with grey hair and mustache, wore red, military like clothing, and had his eyes shut. Another was a man with green hair, blue eyes, glasses, green pants, and a white shirt with yellow tie. The three were looking over some blueprints. The green haired man looked up, "Great scott! I found the answer to our prayers!"

The old man looked at him, "What is it, Oobleck?!"

"We'll use a high density smoke machine to cover the entire school in smoke, giving us the advantage that we've needed."

Glynda and the old man were giving Oobleck dead stares, "I don't think that's going to work."

Oobleck frowned and his eyebrows tightened, "Then tell me, Port, what do you suggest?!"

Port grinned, "I have a full proof plan."

Port pulled out an, actually, well drawn picture of himself looking incredibly muscular and holding an insanely large axe that was on fire, while standing on top of a large elephant-like Grimm with Yang wearing a white dress with her cleavage showing and her hair was shorter and in a medium length layered cut. Glynda's eye was twitching madly, while Oobleck looked confused, "Why is Ms. Xiao Long dressed like that?"

Port smirked and a black aura started to surround him, "She merely needs a right push."

Oobleck and Glynda started to slowly walk out and Port grabbed some car keys and hit the unlock button. A van that said 'Candy Man' on the side opened up.

That's that!

Overview: They do have plot relevance for the first part of the season, but most of them make stupid decisions and vanish from the story entirely after season three.

(I want to try making it easier to tell who I'm talking about, so I'm trying to do a list thing. I hope it makes it easier for you.)

Ozpin: Do I even need to explain? The god thing was very stupid, he dies off screen, he pulled a 'New powers as the plot demands,' and he can also be incredibly stupid. Let me get this straight. Getting an expert huntsman was never in the question, so you send a team of teenagers, which were freshmen, to a suspected area with high Grimm levels that you, yourself, state was too high for freshmen? Instead of hiding the Fall Maiden in a secret location, you hide her under Beacon and unguarded? That's like leaving the heart of the universe in a bowling alley and as one of the bowling balls, chances are something is going to go wrong!

Glynda: I don't hate Glynda, if anything she's probably one of the more tolerable characters, but she is pretty much every strict disciplinarian in fiction. She doesn't tolerate rule breaking, she constantly scolds students, she objects, but Ozpin tells her to not worry about it. She does have some interesting character interactions with Ironwood, who I'll get to, but that's about as much credit as I can give her. She has a nice design and an interesting ability, but those can only take you so far. Honestly, the only thing of actual plot relevance she does is save Ruby from Torchwick and takes her in for rule breaking, because that's not a cliche that has been ruthlessly beaten to death at all.

Port: I know he has a full name, but I don't really care. He is essentially that one multiplayer that constantly talks crap, but can't really go through with it. His whole 'story' shtick got old really fast for me. Dude you are a college teacher, not a kindergartener english teacher. Story time can wait till after class. Seriously, how the hell this guy became a teacher at a school devoted to training the next generation of warriors is very well beyond me. The time he flirted with Yang in his introduction made me feel uncomfortable, to say the least. He has an alright design, but there's not anything huge about him. Except, for comparing PTSD to a fear of mice. Yes, this really happened. He did give Weiss a bit of advice, but that's it and literally any other teacher could have done that. Obnoxious and pointless. Not a good combo for a character.

Oobleck: I have to blunt where I say I'm mixed on Oobleck. He has an alright design and is actually trying to be a good teacher, but some of the things he does are very stupid. Get used to reading that. Starters, he basically says that packing emergency supplies is idiotic. That's a great first impression. When he thought that Ruby brought supplies, he immediately tells her to leave it behind. What changes his mind? Turns out Ruby brought the very mechindisible Zwei with her. (Good Lord! I hated that dog.) Then, Oobleck completely forgive Ruby lying to him and holds the dog closely. After that fun bit of stupidity, he makes RWBY do all of the fighting while he looks at plants and goes full a$$hole when they call him out on it. He then questions WBY about their motives to teach them the lesson that 'Your motives don't matter, as long as you punch the bad guys.' That is not really true. Motives can be used against a hero, especially a hero. If Y fights to protect their family, X can take them to force Y's hand. If Y fights to uphold justice, then X could do something that warps it. If Y fights for an army to win, X can use the complete destruction of that army to force their hands. You see what I mean? Dumb lesson in context and out of context. It essentially says 'character motives don't matter as long as their protagonist.' which is exceptionally bad writing. I'm sorry about going off there, but that was something that needed to be addressed. Stupid decisions and nothing else.

Ironwood: Continuing the trend of character archetypes that I've seen before, James Ironwood a good example of incompant military leader. Let's go over the checklist. Makes irrational decisions. Check. You're constantly asking how he got his rank. Check. Is portrayed as misguided in what he's doing. Check. Is an a$$hole to the characters. Surprisingly no. He's actually pretty chill with the leads for the most part and only gets intense with Ozpin and Co. That's it. His design is generic and his weapon is just a pistol. Looking back, he doesn't do much either. He wants to send troops to the White Fang HQ, but Ozpin tells him off. He brings his army, but they get hacked and caused more damage. Which wouldn't have made that big a difference. He tries to stop the hack, but gets shot down. And that's pretty much all he does. Tries to help, but doesn't help much and make things worse.

Qrow Branwen: I have made it known that Qrow is my personal favorite character. He has a good design, is very funny, and is an actually competent and capable character. But, let's talk about problems here. His semblance doesn't make much since. Remember, Semblance is based on personalty except when the writers don't want it to be. Qrow's semblance is Misfortune. What exactly would make Qrow have the semblance of Misfortune? I tried to think of something to justify it, but nothing I thought of made sense. The best I could think of was that, as a child, Qrow felt like a burden and a liability and this caused misfortune. But that is a theory thing and not in cannon, so it doesn't make sense. Also, he knows of his semblance consequences, but sticks around Team RNJR. True it was to protect them, but I'm pretty sure to Beowolves, they would have been fine. Like with Ironwood, he doesn't do much either looking back. He doesn't make a large impact outside of telling Ruby to not go to Haven. He actually was telling her to go with reverse psychology. Saves her from Tyrian and that's it. Enjoyable, but not really plot relevant, at least when you think really deeply about it. If you watch the show and don't think about character placement, he can be seen that way. You're going to see that as me countering my own argument, aren't you?

Overview on Tai: He's entire presence in the show gives an off feeling to me. He does nothing, isn't funny, stuff he does could have been better, and he just gave BS.

Taiyang Xiao Long(Prepare for intense anger.): I have to be blunt, I do not like Tai. At all. Because I want to keep things fair, let's go over the positives first. While I did mention him in my 'most fathers in western animation are pricks' rant during my Babysitter Piccolo story, I will admit, he feels more like a real father than most WA fathers. His mistakes aren't over the top and 'quirky stupid dad' like most and shows concern for his daughters. Like when he sat by Ruby's side until she woke up. His design is nice and I think he COULD have some interesting interactions with Raven and Qrow. With that said, I just have some morale issues with the character. One of the largest is how he handle Yang losing her arm.

It's time for What's The Decision!

Does Tai..

A) Seek a therapist

B) Sit down with Yang and talk with her about her fears

C) Encourage her to not let events of the past consume her future

Or

D) Insult her for being traumatized in front of house guest and then claims that PTSD is feeling sorry for yourself.

Tai laughed, "I think you lost a few brain cells with that arm!"

The answer was D!

Was that gag a little much? Well now you feel what I felt with some of his scenes. I'm sorry to dwell on this, but it does bother me. For starters, why didn't he call a therapist? They never gave a reason. Second, it really felt off that this was a serious moment. 'Hey! War Vet! You're constantly suffering from flashbacks to the sheer terror that's war? Screw You! You're just feeling sorry for yourself!' I hate this show's guts! PTSD is a serious problem and the flat out disrespectful they did this pisses me off. But all it takes is people insulting those with it, because they're just 'feeling sorry for themselves.' Yes, I get it. People do need to move on from things like this in order to not just slouch around. But they didn't even do the 'get a hold of yourself man!' right. Really analyze the scene. Most of what Tai says are said softly, like the tone a parent uses when they comfort they're child. With children nicknames and everything. What am I supposed to make of that? Let's just move on. I want to be done with this freaking chapter.

Tai then trains Yang for an unknown period of time, but when Yang decides to leave before getting back in peak condition, Tai just let her go. Seriously, he doesn't even want to go with her. Even though he, himself, stated he wanted to wait until after Yang was better to go searching for Ruby. The best I could make of that is that Tai lied to manipulate Yang into putting on the arm and doesn't even appear again until the end of Vol. 5, where Raven flew by. He doesn't do anything, the heartwarming moments with him are absolutely infuriating, and he's really not even funny or anything. Just boring and anger inducing.

Next time will be on WBY, Ruby, the fanbase chapter(Which I decided to do), and then my final thoughts.

I feel like I can't say this enough. Sorry for the heat with Tai. I can understand some people not liking it being more morally based than critical, but there was just so much anger the actions of this character cause me I just couldn't approach this in any different way.

I hope you enjoyed this chapter and I hope you enjoy future chapters. As always, reviews are welcomed!
