Disclaimer: I don't own Hellsing, I own my little story's plot and my original characters but that's about it.
Chapter 10: Fledgling 101
"I will not give in damn it!" a very agitated and frustrated vampire king was pacing around in his dark secluded chambers like a caged animal, think over and over again about how his resolve at crumble and he had gone back on his word take things slow with his Mate…"You ruined things again…." "The great vampire is powerless in the presence of a little girl…" "She'll hate you now…" all the voices in his mind tormented him with snide jabs about his failure…
"SILENCE!" angry and frustrated the Vampire King's voice roared and echoed throughout the room…eventually the voice died down and Alucard was left to his own thoughts again, at least for now. "How could I lose control?! I should've resisted…" once again he was replaying the events that had transpired in his mind and he groaned as if in pain when he started recalling the touch of her lips on his…the taste…the way she felt so right in his arms…"She was going to give in to me…I know she was…" he closed his eyes and recalled every last details but unfortunately the only this did was add fuel to the fire as his passion came raging back and so did his agitation.
"Damn it all to hell!" he grab the nearest object which happened to be a chair and flung it against a wall causing it to splinter and shatter upon impact. A few feet away Alucard's hellhound lay on the floor watching its master's tantrum in progress, occasionally giving a huff or rolling its eyes which did nothing to calm Alucard's temper. "I don't recall asking you for an opinion you blasted mongrel!" he was lashing out like a child he knew but nothing seemed to be quelling his anger at that point and the hound just seemed to shrug it off.
Then suddenly as if she were standing right next to him he heard her saying his name, he immediately used their connection to each other to ensure that she was alright only to be met with the fact that she was just as much consumed by what happened as he was. "Seras" as he said her name he could feel himself calming down and he slowly used his powers to restore the chair he had destroyed and sat down.
"My Little One….you will surely be the death of me…" he said this with a light chuckle and then settled down into serious thought, she wasn't angry that much he could sense from her but there was also a lot of uncertainty, he'd have toughen up his resolve more than he had originally anticipated. Aside from the obvious problem he was sat with he also remembered that she needs to be trained. At that thought he smirk, "It'll be interesting to see what she's capable of…it'll take time but she will become a fearsome Draculina…" at that thought he raised himself up and made his way to his coffin, he'd have to think carefully of how her training should start. He settle in for his death sleep and felt himself become filled with anticipation for the next evening.
The Following Night
Alucard ensure he was awake early enough to start his preparations, the sun hadn't set yet so he had time to go to Seras' room before she woke up. As he entered her room he immediately glanced at where she lay on the bed still in her death sleep. He was tempted to go over and just touch her sleeping face but he had to keep himself in check, with a quick sigh he instead ensured that she had clothes ready that were suitable for the training he had planned before summoning a goblet of blood and setting it aside for when she awoke. When he was satisfied that everything was ready left the room and went to his throne room to prepare the rest.
Seras' POV
Seras awoke just as the sun had set over the horizon…even though she couldn't she outside she knew that it would be dark now. Immediately she felt her hungry hitting her and her eyes found the goblet of blood waiting close by. "He was here…" she was both grateful that he provided her with her evening meals and a little disappointed that he wasn't there when she woke up.
"No! No! NO! Don't think like that!" Seras shook her head vigorously and tried to banish the thoughts from her head, once she had calmed herself down she climbed out of the bed and reached over for the goblet so that she can sate her hunger. The crimson liquid only served to remind her of a certain Vampire King whose burning gaze left her wanting, wanting to be touch, held, kissed…"NO!" once again her mind had returned to the events of last night and she could feel herself blush as the memories returned.
"I don't even know him…" her thoughts then suddenly turned to more distant memories…memories of dreams she had…dreams in which he would come see her and watch over her through the long evening. She couldn't help wondering if maybe she knew him better than she thought…even if it's just a little.
She was so lost in her thoughts that she hadn't realised that Alucard had appeared in the room a few steps away from the bed. He cleared his throat so as to bring her back to reality and also to not give away that he had been listening into her thoughts. "YEEEEEEK!" "CLANG!" Seras jumped with a start and dropped the thankfully empty goblet after hearing Alucard clear his throat.
"Don't do that, are you trying to give me a heart attack!" She yelled at Alucard not realising the irony of her words, they were however not lost on the now very amused Vampire King and he couldn't help but give a little snort of laughter at her outburst. "It's not funny! There is a door to this room you should at least knock or something not just appear here like…like some ghost!"
Now this was too much, Alucard couldn't help but chuckle some more at her antics. He was so use to people being terrified at the mere sight of him but it seemed that his Mate was getting over her initial fear of him and was ready to stand her ground against him. This delighted him beyond measure, he loved the sight of her eyes lighting up with anger and the authoritative way she spoke in moment like this, she truly would make a fine Mate and Queen.
"My apologies Little One…but I take it you're now fully awake" he answered with a smirk and couldn't help but add that little comment at the end which proved to annoy Seras even more as her eyes became a deeper shade of red and she folded her arms as if daring him to say something else to piss her off. Alucard decided not to push his luck and instead decided to just get straight to the point. "Tonight we start with your training, there are clothes set aside for you and you've already had your meal. As soon as your dressed we can begin so don't dawdle." He spoke these words sternly and then instead of porting out the room like he usually did he just turned and walked out the door and closing it behind him.
Seras was taken aback by his sudden change in demeanour, and the way he spoke triggered something inside of her… it wasn't fear but an urge to obey. The Master and Fledgling bond still influenced her despite the fact that she had enough free will to stand up to him. With a sigh she walked over to the clothes that we set aside for her and began to dress. The clothes were by no means fancy or elegant, a plain pair of black trousers and boots, along with a simple white shirt that looked like it was more suited for a man than a woman. After checking herself in the mirror and taming her morning bed-head, she walked over to the bedroom door to join Alucard.
He was leaning against the wall beside the door and only gave a slight glance in her direction before standing up straight and making his way down the hallway, Seras followed him silently, taking in her surroundings hoping that she won't get lost. They walked for some time down corridors and a staircase all adorned with fine tapestry and lit with candles or torches. Eventually they found themselves in front of two large wooden doors, both with beautifully carved images of a dragon and large iron handles.
"We will start your training in here." That all he said before pushing the doors open and revealing the enormous room inside. Chandeliers hung low and brightly lit from the ceiling, heavy and dark curtains hung over what Seras would assume were the bay windows, a long red and gold carpet stretched out from where they stood all the way to where she could see a large throne at the other end of the room.
Alucard closed the doors behind them and simply walked in until he reached the centre of the room, Seras was close behind him gawking all around her trying to taking in the vastness of the room. She then realised that Alucard was staring at her and quickly stopped her gawking. "We'll start with the basics, first we'll start with your teleportation and then phasing…depending on how long it takes you to master those we'll then move onto something more complex." He spoke sternly and clearly, even if he didn't like their current Master/Fledgling relationship he needed them both to stay focused during the course of her training.
Seras once again felt the urge to obey but also felt the need to do well, she wanted him to be pleased with her even if she couldn't fully understand why. "Yes Master." the words she spoke came almost instinctively but for some reason they felt wrong to her and she also noticed the look of irritation on Alucard's face when she said them. "Fine…now look over at my throne, focus on it…now close your eyes and imagine yourself beside it, don't think of anything except getting to it."
Seras was nervous but determined so she did as she was told, closing her eyes she focused on the throne urging herself to get there…it felt like ages but eventually she felt as if her body was as light as air but at the same time she felt incredibly light headed and just as she thought she was going to fall over her body felt normal again and she realised she was sitting on something. Slowly she opened her eyes and looked around, she wasn't beside the throne….she was on it! "I did it!" Seras couldn't help the smile that came to her face and the sense of pride she could feel inside herself. She was brought out of her little celebration by the sound of hands clapping together and that's when she looked up to see that Alucard was making his way over to her while slowly clapping his hands.
"Well done Little One, I see you landed up on the throne instead of beside it but very well done indeed on your first attempt." Once he reached her he gently placed his hand on her head and petted her, he couldn't hide his pride as he looked down at her, she could merely stare back at him with a slight blush on her face from the praise he was giving her.
"No let's keep practising, it'll come more naturally to you the more you practise." With that he stood to the side and waited for her to try again. He didn't give her a target but Seras told herself that she'd make it to the doors at the far end so she calmed her mind and focused on the doors, it didn't take long before the same light feeling came over her and when she opened her eyes she was standing with the doors right in front of her. Again she couldn't stop herself from grinning and giving a little jump for joy. Alucard had ported himself beside her and leaned up against the door, watching with pride and allowing his Mate to have her little moment.
Seras stopped to look up at him, her eyes were lit up with excitement and her smile was infectious as Alucard couldn't help the grin that came across his face. He proceeded to stand up right and again petted her on the head. "Again." And with that Seras proceeded to port herself all over the great room until she didn't need to close her eyes or fully concentrate on her desired location, eventually it got to the point where she'd glance in a general direction or just think of it and within seconds port over to wherever she wanted to go.
"Excellent, now it's time to move out of the room." Alucard had resided himself to sitting on his throne while Seras was practising, watching her improve second by second. "Now it's time for your mind to have a more…mobile target to focus on….me." Seras cocked her head to the side in confusion as to what he meant and looked up at him curiously. "It's one thing to be able to teleport within a room, it's another to be able to port to a completely random location based on where your target is." He stood up and looked down at her. I will teleport to a random location within the castle, I want you to use the link we have with each other to find me and then teleport to me.
She heard the words in her mind and once again she was filled with nervousness but before she could say anything Alucard merely smirked down at her and within the blink of an eye he was gone. "Well time to play hide and seek I guess." And with that she closed her eyes and once again tried to focus…except this time it'll be on HIM.
Another chapter and another step forward, hope you guys like it.
