Whoa hey guys! Hehe a month later (well, almost), and here I am! Oh, you guys will love this chapter. I got a few special appearances in here, as well.
Sorry that I've been inactive, though. No ideas = no writing. Plus, personal stuff going on, too.
But hey, what can you do?
Well, enjoy the read!
I look at the clock on the wall, lazily awaiting the bell to ring. I had finished my work, so there was absolutely nothing to do at this moment, other than listen to the chatter amongst the equally lazy students as me. It's only 10:40, so I still have about twenty minutes until I get out of class and meet Gilbert at my locker.
Yawning, I think back to first period, with our new seating arrangement. Our teacher makes a new arrangement every few months it seems, just so that we get used to change, and other people. Today, I sat next to a guy who seemed strangely familiar. He was much more taller than me, and has medium length hair, and it's somewhat a light sandy blond colour. He said his name was Ivan Braginsky. As I said earlier, he seems strangely familiar, but I can't place my finger on it.
My mind trails off from Ivan, and back onto Gilbert. I feel a soft smile slip onto my face as I think about how I'm pretty glad that we started talking and understanding one another. I also feel a familiar air from him when I'm around him just like Ivan, too. But it's different. It's like we were close at one point besides now, but something in me made me forget. Maybe if I just think harder... Think about his light skin that matches his oddly silver hair, that flush on his cheeks when he gets too close to me that match his deep red eyes, and then how he speaks with his somewhat accented voice-
Wait, am I really thinking this? About Gilbert? My cheeks flush up as I think more about it. What is this feeling? It's not... Love, is it? I sigh. It couldn't be; it's probably just the fact that we're so close, and he's the only person I talk to a lot. Besides, even if it was, Gilbert couldn't possibly like me back.
The bell finally rings, slowly dragging me out of my thoughts and back into the reality that is school and leaving me with a sigh. I grabbed my books and walked out into the hallway, about to walk over to my locker and meet up with Gilbert, until...
"Hej, Matt! Did we have homework for like, todays class?" A voice that anyone could pinpoint in a 5 mile radius spoke to me.
"Ah, hey, Feliks. No, I don't think we had any homework for tonight." I told him, turning around to face the blond Polish man. Some people said he looked girly, but he looks pretty normal to me.
"'Kay, thanks!" He said about to turn around, but stopped and looked at me. He gave me a somewhat serious look, which looked more silly rather than serious.
"Don't be afraid to talk to me, y'know? Like, we were friends in grade 9 and 10. I dunno what happened!" He exclaimed, throwing his hands into his hair dramatically. "Anyway, I wanna talk with you after school, so meet me at the front entrance, 'kay?" And without giving me time to answer, he ran off. I shrugged and made a mental note. That's just how Feliks is, and it's probably how he always will be. The only thing with him is, he always tries his hardest to play matchmaker. I don't know how he does it, but apparently, it usually works out. Thankfully, I can't vouch for that statement.
Glancing around, I'm actually kinda glad that he stopped me for a few minutes. The halls were a little more empty, and I could probably get over to my locker with more ease now. We were in the library today for English, which was on the top floor, so it would be a quick walk over to my locker, which is good. It's just quicker with less people around, and that's nice.
Getting over to my locker, I glance around. There's no sign of Gilbert yet, so I take my time opening my lock since I forgot to put in the combination earlier. Silently humming the combination as I spin the dial, I unlock it, then open my locker. Then, I realize that since I didn't bring my bag home over the weekend, that I didn't have anything to bring a lunch in. Oh well. I shrug it off; it's not too big of a deal, I can just eat when I get home.
I grab Gilbert's hoodie, and then close my locker and lock it up, leaning against it and waiting for the red-eyed man with his hoodie in my arms. I don't know why, but it still just felt so warm. I lift it up to my face and close my eyes, inhaling. It still kinda smells like him, too.
"You enjoying yourself?" I jump at the voice, belonging to Gilbert and flush up, facing him as he grins at me.
"Um... Right, uh, here's your hoodie." I speak out, holding the hoodie towards him with my hands out.
"Thanks!" He takes it, running a hand through his hair with that grin still plastered on his face. "Hey, I've got a question for you."
"Well, I might just have an answer for you." I state, giving Gilbert a small laugh. He moves his head to look around the empty hallway.
"Well, did you wanna hang out after school today? Like, at the park or something?" He asks me, looking away from me slightly.
I think about my answer for a moment. I didn't have much to do yet, except for meeting with Feliks, so I nod. "Yeah, I'm free. I just have to meet Feliks after school. He said he wanted to talk about something." I explain to him.
- Gilbert's POV -
I raise an eyebrow, my curiosity growing somewhat. "The Polish kid? You got stopped in the hall by him, too?" I decided to ask, thinking back to my encounter with the well-known guy just a few moments ago.
I watched as Matthew nodded. "Yeah, we hung out a bit in grade 9 and 10. At first he was just asking if we had any homework, but then he said he wanted to meet after school." He explained, slipping out a nice, light laugh. "It'll probably be quick. You know him, he always wants to get to the point."
I nodded in understanding, still remembering my encounter with him. I wonder if it's connected with that? Pushing it aside for now, I grin at Matthew again. "It's no problem. I'll seeya in math, all right?"
"Yep," Matthew started, with another nod. "You know where to find me if you need me."
"The art room, right? Are you always there at lunch?"
"Usually." He shrugs, cocking his head to the side as he does it, making his blond wavy hair bounce to the side. "Well, I'll see you in class." He stated, as he walked off.
"Seeya!" I shout at him, grinning. I started walking off the other way, and thinking to what we agreed to. Meeting him at the park... It seems odd, but maybe I could get Matthew alone for once. Which just brings me back to when Feliks stopped me in the hall.
"Hej, Gilbert!" I heard him call out. I was gonna keep walking, but I decided to stop in the hallway just this once.
"What is it, Feliks? Aren't you usually running the LGBT group right now?" I ask. He recently became the president of the group, which really isn't a surprise. I found it interesting, but I didn't feel a need to attend. I knew that Francis occasionally attended at least twice a month, since it was only held once a week.
"Yeah yeah, but I have more important matters to attend to! Concerning you, actually." He told me. I raised an eyebrow.
"Me?" I blatantly asked.
"Yes you!"
"Couldn't be!" I pretend to gasp, taking an opportunity.
"Stop joking around." Feliks frowns, pouting at he as he blows his blond bangs out of his face.
"You set yourself up for that one!" I chuckle, and then sigh. "Okay then, what did you want with the awesome me?"
"Well, I keep seeing you two, and I just can't help but ask, so I'm gonna be blunt..." He mutters, looking off to the side before continuing. "Are you two, like, dating yet?" He almost shouts, and thank god the hallway is almost empty, except for a few uninterested students.
"Whoa, Feliks," I start, putting my hands up in front of myself in defense. "Slow down. Now, who exactly are you talking about?" I ask, still somewhat confused about his assumptions.
"You know who!" He's still shouting, but it's a bit of a quiet shout. "I can totally see the spark between you and Matthew. You just can't say you guys don't have something going on." He says, giving me a sly look, causing me to back up.
"I have no clue what you're talking about." I state, feeling heat on my face.
"Of course, you two are so oblivious to your own feelings that everyone else can see it but you..." He mumbles, almost to the point where I can't hear him. I roll my eyes as he keeps rambling. "I mean, even like, the most oblivious person can see the look in your guys' eyes when you see each other!" He huffs.
I stay quiet for a moment to see if he's going to continue. The blond is quiet for a moment, so I take the opportunity to ask, "Are you done yet?"
"Taa taa, almost. But listen, if you're not gonna see it soon, then I will make you, okay?" He gives me this intense look, before looking around the hallway. "Well, I like, gotta go. Bye!" He exclaims, and quickly runs off.
I will never be able to understand that guy or what he talks about.
- Matthew's POV -
I stretched as I walked out of the class with Gilbert behind me. Stopping as we got out of the hallway, I turned around to talk to him.
"So, where did you want to meet, exactly? At the park, or...?" I asked, trailing off somewhat.
"That actually sounds pretty great." He starts, grinning. "Text me?"
"All right." I nodded, and smiled. "Well, I'll see you then. Thanks for helping me out with the work today, too." I sighed, as math was not one of my strong points.
"It's no problem!" He grinned again, then looked at me. "Well, seeya there!" He shouted over the crowd of people, and waved before he started walking off. Then, I walked off, going our separate ways.
We were now sitting at the park, under a nicely blooming tree under the late spring sun which was going to be setting soon. It was a nice setting, and it was nice to hang out with Gilbert, even though it was quiet. It was a large park, and not too many people were around at this moment. It was comfortable.
I sigh, looking up at the sky. It was a mix of blues, oranges, and pinks. It really looked wonderful, but I did need to get home.
"I liked hanging out today, Matt." Gilbert spoke up, with a lazy smirk on his face. I nodded, letting out a light, content sigh. "We should probably get going, though..." He mumbled, pretty much reading my mind.
I stretched my back. "Yeah.." I groaned out, trying to stand up facing him. He was standing up at the same time. As I got onto my feet, I lost my balance, shutting my eyes as I fell over.
And what a coincidence; I fell on top of Gilbert.
Wait, wait wait wait. Did our... Did our lips touch...?
I quickly moved my head away from his and then moved myself a little off to the side. I looked at Gilbert, and he was just laying there, a blank expression on his face.
"G-Gilbert, are you okay? I'm sorry for falling on you, I didn't mean it..." I spoke, it all coming out in a rush.
I watched as he slid himself up into a sitting position and let out a light chuckle. I felt confused, and then he looked at me, an expression on his face that I just couldn't place.
"It's all good. I mean, that was... Nice." He muttered, looking at me.
"Gil, what are you talking about? It's no time for joking." I frowned at him as he was only propped up on his elbows, so he was still technically beneath me, until he pulled himself up all the way.
"Never mind, never mind.." He sighed, closing his eyes before re-opening them. "So, you're going home now?" He asked, as he stood up.
"Um.. Yeah." I mumbled out as he put out a hand in front of me, and I took it. He was grinning when I was fully standing.
"You're such a klutz." Gilbert pointed out, chuckling.
"Yeah, yeah. Umm, I'll see you tomorrow?" I rhetorically asked, as he let go of my hand, leaving it empty.
"Of course, silly. Well, seeya." He said, waving before parting ways.
"See you tomorrow!" I call out to him before walking off, and he waved again.
I thought for a moment before stopping in my tracks, flushing up.
We just kissed, didn't we...?
Hej - Hey (Polish)
Taa taa - Yeah yeah (Polish)
Please correct me if these are wrong. My friend, Google Translate, isn't always correct.
Well, there's that! Woo! Hehe, I like making Feliks a matchmaker. I might give him a matchmaking partner, as well, but that'll totally be a secret. Shhhhhh.
Whee, I hope you enjoy this chapter! I sure did! Special thanks to a friend who doesn't even know who the two characters are, for giving me the idea. Whoo~.
Well, and I'm off! Please review, it's very appreciated!
