Leek ran as quickly as he could back towards the throne room while still looking dignified.

This turn of events was strange to say the least. He was curious as to why the Royal Advisor, Zorn, ordered him to send a gift (...food) to the scientist named Paragus. As though the Royal Palace were trying to ingratiate themselves with him. What was so important about that man that she'd send him a gift? It was not too long ago that the late King Vegeta spoke with Paragus, but he wasn't sure what the nature of their conversation was about. However, Leek managed to avoid a lot of the awkwardness there would have been, seeing as how Paragus wasn't at his home. The only one there was a woman, probably the scientist's companion, who was recuperating from a recent mission. The Royal Advisor didn't give him much info to work with either.

Tell whoever is present that it is a gift from the Queen and that either of their presence is requested.

Leek was glad he was back in the palace. As he wasn't much of a fighter, he was lucky enough to be chosen as a royal attendant, but that woman was extremely intimidating. She hadn't said anything, but she looked extremely upset. And his own power level was 6500. That woman's was close to 28,000! What was going on?

Entering a final hallway in the palace, Leek turned a corner without slowing down, nearly crashing into the wall. His standard saiyan armor lacked the shoulder cones, so the damage would have been a shoulder sized crater in the wall rather than a puncture. He'd never met the Queen and didn't really want to draw attention to himself because of property damage. Reaching a room that was a few doors away from the throne room, he knocked and stood back.

The door opened, and on the other side of it stood Zorn.

"I sent the supply of food, sir, but...what is it for?"

"To be honest, I'm not even sure," Zorn replied with a frown, stepping out of the room. It closed automatically behind him.

"Sir, I think you should know, that uh, the woman that was at Paragus' living quarters, the one you said was to be summoned to the palace?"

Zorn nodded, encouraging the younger Saiyan to continue. Zorn began to walk towards the throne room, Leek following behind.

"Her power level is 28,000," he said in a hurried whisper. Zorn halted immediately, causing Leek to nearly crash into him.

"What!?" Zorn looked down then around the hallway before looking at Leek.

"Alright, you're dismissed. I'll call for you if I need anything." With that Zorn continued walling forward as Leek saluted before leaving out of sight.

So then it's true, Zorn thought. The child was born with a power level of 10,000. But for the mother to have such a high power level...she wasn't even a 1st class Saiyan according to the databanks. How did she stay under the radar?

Zorn exhaled irritably. The Queen was more mysterious than King Vegeta. While the late King was straightforward, he still couldn't figure out what was going on in Queen Okra's head. Crossing his hands behind his back, he resolved to question her as he continued on his way to the throne room.

Goku, Gine, and Bardock were essentially destroying everything edible on the table with weapons of mass destruction called mouths, although Gine wasn't eating nearly as fast as Goku, who was eating even faster than Bardock. Once they finished their meal, which consisted of a mountain of food plus another mountain of food, Bardock's scouter, which was lying on the table off to the side, began to beep loudly.

"Crap," Bardock hissed, grabbing the device and placing it over his left ear and eye. He tapped a button on the side of it before grunting.

"Another mission," he explained to clear Goku's confusion and Gine's slightly worried expression.

"Why would they assign you a mission so soon?" Goku questioned. His team was killed not too long ago.

"More like why would Bardock accept one so soon," Gine spoke up, resting her head on her palm. Goku raised an eyebrow.

"Alright, why don't I come along then?"

"Hell no," Bardock replied almost immediately. He didn't need his son tagging along with him on a simple retrieval mission. "I can handle myself."

"I never said you couldn't."

Bardock sighed, exasperated with Kakarot's attitude. He didn't seem like he meant to, but he sounded like a real smartass.

"Fine!" Bardock relented angrily, readjusting the armor straps to his Saiyan vest. "Just don't get in my way," Bardock added with a flushed face, attempting to save face after seeing Gine's amused expression.

"Hey, mom, why don't you come with us?"

Gine replied with a dumb look, pointing at herself and asking "Huh?"

Bardock readjusted his arm sleeves before turning to leave the room. "She's not coming," he said with certainty.

"Hey, I may not be the best fighter around, but that doesn't mean I can't fight!" she nearly exploded, jumping up from her seat.

"I didn't say that! But you're too careless. You let too many people get the drop on you all the time!" Bardock retorted.

Gine growled in annoyance, irritated with Bardock's jerk attitude.

"I got an idea!" Goku spoke up.

Bardock was at the door and sighed in frustration. "What now?" He leaned on the door frame with one arm and rubbed his face in irritation.

"I could teach you how to sense other people's energy. That way, you can be more alert in battle!"

"You could do that?" Bardock questioned, genuinely interested at the idea of being able to sense people.

"Yeah!" Goku smiled. He scratched the side of his head, before turning his attention to Bardock.

"How soon, 'till you have to leave?" he queried.

"3 minutes."

"Perfect," Goku said before raising two fingers to his forehead and vanishing in the blink of an eye.

"Your highness, if I may ask, why the sudden interest in Paragus's family?"

"You remember his child that was born recently, correct?"

"..Yes," Zorn acknowledged with a nod. Okra was across from him, sitting on one of the armrests of the throne. She crossed her arms before a smile appeared on her face.

"He was born with a power level of 10,000. Honestly, I could care less about Paragus. I need to lower their guard enough to get a blood sample of the child."

Zorn's eyes widened. "But wasn't he just born with a high power level?"

"Maybe," Okra agreed. "Maybe not," she added. "But one just isn't born with a power level that high. Unless it's something genetic. Maybe if we can fin out what that is, it can help us grow stronger as a race as a result."

The queen didn't bother saying anything else, so Zorn took that as his cue to leave.

"Oh, and Zorn," she said as Zorn took two steps. "I want that blood test done yesterday," she ordered. Zorn nodded, a bead of sweat traveling down the side of his face.

"Of course."
