Amelie's Point of View
Though Claire opened the door, I was the first to walk through. Shane, Eve and Michael waiting impatiently. They saw Claire and almost knocked her over when they hugged her.
Oliver was sitting in a chair by the corner, flicking through a book he had.
"You were so polite." I said sarcastically.
"Well when I try to distract you and you run off claiming your sick; it would make someone lose their politeness." He dropped the book and stood. "I believe my business here is done. I will see you soon." Then he brushed past me and closed the door with a slam.
I shook my head at his childishness. One of the maids came and picked up the book and put it back on the bookshelf then offered to make me a drink; I declined.
"Amelie, please tell them that I wasn't killed by a mad vampire." Claire said. I turned back to her wearing the emotionless mask. Even though Claire knew, her friends could never know.
"She didn't. As you know there is a stalker after Claire. He came after twice already and she had to get away so I changed her."
There was silence then Shane, ever the hothead, made a move to punch me, but my guards held him back easily. Michael though, was not so easily held back.
"How long has she been like that?!" Shane shouted, struggling against the guards grip.
"When you saw her last, she had already been a vampire a few days." I said, then carried on before he say anything else. "She wore make-up because she was afraid of your reactions."
"Really, it's fine! I would have been dragged off, if I hadn't been changed. Shane, please don't do anything please." Claire pleaded with her boyfriend. Eve, looked paler than her white make-up.
"You never wanted to be a vampire. Why the sudden change of heart? We have taken on bigger things than a vamp stalker." Shane said, in an accusing tone. I wanted to say something but they might pick up on me defending her then jump to conclusions.
"Well... He came around when I was out of the house and he wouldn't let me go. But I managed to get away. I still don't like being this, but it does kind of help my chances."
"And what will I do? Go back and wait till I die until there is only you and Michael left? I thought we were going to grow old together, no matter how cheesy that sounds."
"We will. Except I won't. But I will ask every day if I can come around, you know I will. There's nothing to do here." Claire shrugged. She wasn't going round to visit him everyday, but I guessed she was just saying that to ma's him calm down. I hoped she was just saying that.
"You will if she will let you out of sight." Shane cast a hate filled glare in my direction.
"Of course I will."
"See? Now don't do anything stupid." Shane glared at me then looked back to Claire and finally stopped struggling.
"Just get these off me." After I thought about it I nodded to the two guards and they let go. He hugged Claire then sat down on the couch with her.
"Why didn't you tell us? Michael changed and it was fine." Eve said. I sat down. Claire could take care of herself. I was only here to make sure nothing bad happened to her. The guards were busy already, holding back Michael but he seemed calm now so I ordered him to be released but I told one of them, Antony, to stick around just in case Eve decided to lash out.
"Well, it took Shane forever to get over it. I thought he would hate me."
"No, he wouldn't. Even if he did I would totally kick his ass." Eve said then she looked at me then back at Claire. "Let's go into the kitchen." She dragged Claire away and Shane followed. I stood up to follow Claire I knew she could take care of herself, but I still didn't like Claire being out of my sight.
"Founder." The guard that I hadn't noticed was standing by said.
"Yes?"
"Myrnin wants you. He says it's urgent." He held out the phone. With a glance in the direction that Claire had gone, I took the phone.
"What is it?"
"Claire hasn't turned up for work. I know she likes you more than me, so I was worried she may have said something about me." Myrnin said, in his whiny voice.
"Myrnin, stop whining, Claire's here and her friends are visiting, so she can't come around right now and she hasn't said anything about you and I doubt she has spared a thought for you. Now find someone else to annoy." I hung up and gave the phone back to the guard and went to the kitchen where Claire, Shane and Eve were.
Pushing open the door, they weren't there. I listened carefully and heard Eve's and Shane's heartbeat upstairs in Claire's room.
"Founder what about the other boy?" The guard asked.
"Watch him but make sure he doesn't break anything." He nodded and walked away.
Going upstairs and to her room I went in without knocking. Only Eve was there looking through Claire's wardrobe.
"Where's Claire and Shane?" I asked, well demanded. Eve shrugged.
"Her crazy boss came and took her and Shane gone to find the toilet. You know, you need to get her some more fashionable clothes and make this house a bit [italics] warmer. Humans don't like cold, you know?"
I ignored her pointless chatter. "What are you doing in here?"
"Well, we were looking through clothes and she was talking to me about the crazy stuff that had gone on, then the crazy vamp-"
"When did they leave?"
"I don't know about 5 minutes ago? 10?"
I turned around to leave but turned back again. "Can you go downstairs please? Guests are only allowed downstairs." I waited until she put the clothes back and went past me down the stairs, then I waited for Shane to leave the bathroom and then followed them downstairs and called to Gérard to accompany me to Myrnin's lab. He could be unpredictable sometimes.
Claire's Point of View
I leaned against the wall, with my arms crossed, glaring at Myrnin. I was talking to Eve about what I do when I'm alone and about Amelie's date, when he just appeared and said I needed to come into work. I had told him like 10 times that I had visitors but he is one of those people or vamps that don't take "no" for an answer. So after telling him for the final time, he grabbed me and dropped me out of the window.
Well, I found out there is a plus to being un-dead. I didn't break every bone in my body. I did scream at him, saying he could have killed me but he covered my mouth, picked me up and took me to his lab.
So here I am.
"Claire, please stop looking at me, like that. It is not very nice and I am your boss."
"Yes, well bosses don't throw their employees out of windows where they could get killed." I wasn't going to let him forget that and I would be telling Amelie, so she could hit him or something.
"Claire, I have been over this. You do not have a scratch on you and even if you did your all healed now. Now get to work you cannot have days off whenever you feel like it."
"I'm telling Amelie." I pushed off the wall and went over to the box he had been pointing at since I got here.
"She won't believe you." Myrnin got a rusty and very sharp knife and since I was in the process of opening the box, if I hadn't moved my hand, he would have sliced a finger off.
"Myrnin, watch where you put that thing! You almost cut off my finger!" I hit him, and actually felt pleased I hurt him.
"This is faster and I like to keep boxes not the shredded remains." He hit me too. Why he wanted to keep empty boxes was a mystery. He never used them, but I wasn't here all the time so I have no idea what he needed them for.
"Ow! Stop it!"
"Both of you, stop it." I turned around and have never felt so pleased to see Amelie at the bottom of the stairs. I pointed at Myrnin.
"He started it. He- Ow!" I bent over and rubbed my side where Myrnin had elbowed. Amelie glared fiercely.
"She is telling lies. I did try the telephone but she kept ignoring me and you know much I hate using them."
"Come over here, Claire." Amelie said. The pain in my side was still there, but I managed to straighten up and walk over. "What did he do?"
"He-" I started but then Myrnin made a move to shut me up again but the guard was just as fast in pinning him against the wall.
"Don't listen to her! She lies!"
Amelie rolled her eyes a little bit and looked at me.
"He threw me out of the window." I said. Amelie glared more fiercely and I could see the change in body language. I decided to step in to prevent her, from ripping his head off. "BUT I'm fine. No broken bones or bruises." I think.
"That does not excuse his behaviour. Why did you do that?" Amelie demanded.
"Well, she needed to come in and she wouldn't leave from doing pointless things with her friend. She is un harmed though, take a look at her!"
Amelie gave me a once over with her eyes then turned to leave. "Claire is not coming back here until this stalker is caught. Do not come round in the middle of the night or anytime or you will be escorted out. Come, Claire." She left and the guard followed her. Grabbing my bag I quickly followed before Myrnin could get anymore ideas.
