A/N: To start off, I would like to apologize for the hiatus for all my stories. I had no time to spare for writing because of the start of semester for me 3rd Year in polytechnic, and I was spending 5 days/week at work. I had to spend my 2 rest days for resting- literally. That was roughly 6 months ago, by the way.

Now that my internship is coming to an end, I finally found some time to spare for writing. I've doing my best to overcome writer's block by reading the stories again and again until I remember what I had planned for them. Whew.

Anyway, there's still a little more than a week until I officially end my internship and enter holiday mode! Until then, please be patient for any late updates!

Disclaimers: I don't own Skip Beat! or any of the characters. This chapter may contain OOC-ness, vulgarities, etc.

This is an extra chapter of what happened during the stupid plan. It's something I thought I should revise because it's really stupid that I didn't explain what happened then. There'll be minor changes for the posted chapters after this one, so I'll very much appreciate it if you'll read them again.

Please enjoy!

Chapter 9.5: Dates are just for show and not always enjoyable

What was the last thing that made you rethink about enforcement of rules and laws? At the very least, for the people strolling the busy streets of Tokyo, it was the combination of an expressionless, petite young girl and the terrifying, black-clad man beside her.

They were such a peculiar pair that it was hard not to look at them as they walked past. Kyoko watched in morbid fascination as Cain Heel allowed Yuuki curl her arm around his, albeit loosely and almost disinterestedly.

Kyoko flinched in both surprise and fear when she heard something snap behind her. Paling, she glanced back slowly and had her wide eyes glued to the unopened can of black coffee as its contents spewed violently from its ruined body.

Upon various opportunities, she had come to an understanding why Kudou Shinichi was referred to as "Demon". The bridge of his nose and the middle of his brows wrinkled fiercely as he snarled under his breath.

The grudges in her head were all coming to a conclusion not to piss the director off, no matter how delicious his fury and dark aura might be.

"That brat… this is what she was planning behind my back?" He growled unhappily, tossing the destroyed can over his shoulder.

Alarmed by his sudden move to go public of their stalking, Kyoko grabbed a fraction of his shirt and pulled with all her strength, "P-Please wait, Director-san! What would we do if they find out about us following them around?"

It took a brief moment of silence before Shinichi sighed and calmed down. Kyoko mimicked him and turned her gaze back to the duo… or where they should've been.

She blinked, once, twice, before reality sank in. "We lost them!"

There was nothing but silence between them. Yuuki watched in mild interest at the increasing irritation etched on Cain's stoic face. His teeth gnawed the burning cigarette between his lips as he casted a death glare down at her.

"When will the 'fish' eat the 'bait'?"

She shrugged, "Who knows?"

His steel-colored eyes scanned around indiscreetly, scaring passers-by as they walked past him. There, someone met his gaze and flinched, as if he was caught staring… or observing, actually.

Cain smirked and dropped his cigarette, "I found one."

Yuuki only watched as the predatory giant stalked towards the alley, disappeared into the narrow darkness, and returned a minute later with a satisfied grin, all while patting both gloved hands like dusting them off.

"How many were there?" She asked with a quizzical tilt of her head.

He mimicked her, albeit less adorably, "Five."

"They've been following you for a while now." He sighed when she only raised an eyebrow, "It's easy to tell, since it took me halfway through the night to realize we were being watched."

"You mean they most likely know where I live, who I'm with and what I do every day?" A disgusted frown marred her porcelain face when he nodded, "They had any chance to kidnap me if I was alone."

Another nod. Cain scratched the back of his ear with a perturbed scowl. What kind of paedophiliac bastard would send five grown men after one girl?

"Trust Reino to come up with such a brilliant idea." She scoffed, rubbing her arms to suppress goosebumps, "Revolting stalking habits that disgusting monster has."

Within the personality cage of Cain, Ren and Kuon looked at each other. Both of them felt that Cain, despite without giving two shits about anyone and anything other than Setsuka, had done a great job in cooperating.

"Yuuki," Cain called out softly when he saw the obvious fear etched on her face, "Even if 'I' cannot do more than what 'I'm' hired for, the other 'me' would gladly assist you as a friend… or a brother."

For the first time since the night begun, Yuuki smiled. A genuine, grateful smile made its way up her lips and she giggled, "Thanks. I'll remember that."

The black-clad man snorted as they continued to stroll the streets. This time, conversations of their favorites (Shinichi and Setsuka) replaced the silence that once surrounded them.

Shinichi grumbled. Not only they lost track of their targets, they were stuck with the stifling crowds standing around the street entertainment in the center of the city.

Kyoko squeaked every now and then as people pushed and squeezed. Not wanting to be washed away and be lost from the director, she had clung to his arm like a single plank in a raging sea.

He cursed under his breath when the discomfort of the noisy environment, an impending headache, and irritation of having lost the person he was set to keep a watch on, rushed to his head.

"Fuck this. I'm going home." Shinichi announced grandly and dragged the cowering pink girl out the crowd. He only shot dirty looks to anyone who glared at his crude pushes, making them steer away from the pissed gangster.

Kyoko only marveled at his strength as he hoisted her through the packed crowds. Her phone chimed just then.

How dare you ditch me in this stupid chicken variety job? And I even trusted you! Traitor!

A look of doom replaced her exhausted one. Frantically, she fumbled the pink device to type a message of sincere apology to her best friend while she checked the time.

11:01PM. Yappa Kimagure Rock was just over.

S-S-Sorry Moko-san! I didn't mean to skip the job! I was forced to! I'm really sorry! Where are you now? Please don't be angry!

Shinichi only glanced down over her slouched shoulder apathetically, "Is it from that black haired beauty?"

Kyoko wanted to glare at him, but it came out as a teary sob, "Yess… What should I doooo? Moko-san is angry at meeee!"

The director only snorted with a small smirk, "Just wait, she'll simmer down faster than you think."

"Really? I mean, Moko-san is—" Bing! Her eyes instantly glued to the screen to her phone, and her panic turned to a relieved smile.

I'm still at TBM. I'll leave if you don't come in 5 minutes.

A soft smile quirked his lips as Shinichi ruffled her hair once more, "See? Get going, girl."

Kyoko beamed up at him before bowing waist-deep, "Thank you, Director-san! Good night!"

"Yeah." He waved dismissively and watched as she tore down the street at an unbelievable speed. Ten seconds and she was gone from his sight.

He scratched his cheek and sighed, pulling out another stick of cigarette to light up.

"I guess this isn't as unproductive as I thought it to be."
