Hey guys! Sorry for the long absence. I have had TONS of stuff to do for school (paying for AP exams, studying for AP exams, labs for chemistry) and a horrible amount of things to do for band (jazz band once a week, pit orchestra practice twice a week for our upcoming musical). To top it all off, I need volunteer hours for NHS (I volunteer for the Boys and Girls club at a local middle school every Thursday). Yep. Lots of stuff to do. Also, "saving" Loki from a fangirl...
Tony: We're back.
Me: Where's Loki? Oh my god, y'all look like you got your asses handed to you.
Thor: This fangirl seems more than capable of fighting.
Abigail: Where's Clint?
Tony: In the hospital.
Me: Holy shit! The fangirl...?
Tony: It was Natasha who put him there.
Me: Seems legit.
Pepper: Oh hey Tony you're- OH MY FUCKING GOD! WHAT HAPPENED?
Tony: Pep, it's fine.
Pepper: You're hurt! Is that blood? YOU'RE BLEEDING!
Tony: Pepper, I'm fine.
Steve: I think we forgot to mention that we met up with Doom on the way back...
Me: You know what, lets get on with the story while they're fixing themselves up.
Abigail: *flails arms in fancy motion to queue in story*
Abigail spun around. She couldn't see anything in the halls. More specifically, she couldn't see anyone.
"Come Loki, you piece of shit. Where are you?" She whispered under her breath. She unsheathed her fans with shaky hands.
Was she scared? Hell yeah! She was roaming dark hallways with a homicidal Norse god who she had no clue where the hell he was! But, was she going to let that stop her from allowing Pepper to escape with Zach?
Not. A. Fucking. Chance.
She shook her head. Where was Zach? Was Pepper okay? How did this even happen?
Oh right. The fire.
"Abby we have to go!" Pepper yelled.
Abigail shook her head. "I'm going in. Take Zach as far as you can from here."
"Are you insane?! He could kill you!"
"Better me than Zach!" She yelled back.
The Avengers, now that all of them had met up in the mess hall, looked at her with disbelief. Well, she assumed they did. She couldn't really see them in the dark. Damn Loki and his tricks!
"The hell you are, ma'am. Do you know who you are dealing with? He nearly scaled the whole city of New York!" Steve told her sternly.
Abigail breathed in and out slowly. "I'm sorry. I have to do this. He's after me, and I barely know why."
Thor looked at her- was she looking at her? she couldn't see. "My brother's sanity, it seems, is beyond reasoning. I do not think that your surrender will change that."
"I'm not looking to help him." Abigail replied. "I'm looking to help myself."
All of a sudden, there was a huge flash of fire. A loud creaking sound was heard, and everyone looked up. The ceiling was collapsing on top of them.
"SHIT!" Abigail screamed.
Pepper, still holding Zach, ran out the door to the hallways away from the fire. Tony was right on her heels.
Bruce had hulked out and held up the ceiling so Steve and the two assassins- one looking more scared of the flames than the other- could flee from the wreckage. Thor had flown out and was trying to find the source of the blast.
Abigail had ran into something and tried to jump out of the way. Unfortunately, she was a bit short of her jump and fell into one of the corridors below her. Her head hit the ground and she fell unconscious.
That's all she remembered. How long had she been out? She had no clue.
"Just breath, Abby. Breath." She said a little louder.
"Oh yes, because breathing will do you some good, hmm?"
Oh, fuck.
Her heart was racing and she breath stopped. That was his fucking voice. And she had absolutely no clue where it came from.
Focus, Abby. Focus.
"You don't scare me, Loki." She called out to the darkness.
She heard a dark laugh up ahead. Aaaaaaaaaand she couldn't see. Great. Fucking great.
"I sense your lies, Abigail. But, to humor you, I will play along." The voice was closer now. "So, what do you fear, hmm? What makes your heart race? Because obviously it its not me."
"It's not a lie, Loki." She said, slowly raising her fans. "There is only one thing that scares me, and it certainly isn't a coward of a god who won't show himself to a 16-year-old girl."
Oh, yes, let's just fucking TAUNT him. Brilliant plan, Abigail. FUCKING. BRILLIANT.
She gasped as a hand closed around her neck and she was thrown into a wall. She coughed as she tried to regain her breath, but the impact left her barely able to think on breathing.
"Coward? Me? Honestly, Abigail, your sense of humor amazes me." Loki admitted sarcastically as her came closer.
"St-stay the f-fuck away..." Abigail whispered.
"You are absolutely pathetic, even for a mortal. Most have some form of spirit that stops them from harm. But you, Abigail, lack that."
Pathetic.
Trigger.
"You are pathetic!" the woman screamed at her. "Look at you, thinking that you have the right to speak to me like that!"
"Mom, please. Stop..." Abigail wheezed.
A sharp kick came to her stomach.
"AGH." she choked out.
"You are so easy to break." the god whispered in her ear. "You are absolutely helpless."
Trigger.
Kick.
"Agh! Stop!" the ten-year-old screeched.
"No! Not until you learned your lesson!"
Kick.
"I. Said. STOP!" Abigail yelled as she grabbed the woman's ankle and dragged her to the ground.
"Have you been broken before, girl? Or do you just lack the powers you supposedly have?"
"Go away.." Abigail had no clue who she was talking to at this point. Reality and dream was a blur.
Loki chuckled. "I don't think so." He reached for the fans.
Then, Abigail's eyes flew open.
"I. Said. STOP!" Her hand grabbed one of the fans and flew towards Loki's face.
"Agh!" He stumbled back as he clutched his face.
"Agh!" The woman crawled back. There were scratch marks on her face.
Loki looked down at his hand. There was blood from the wound that the fan had inflicted upon him. His eyes darted over to Abigail, who was now looking at the blood on her fan, trying to breathe. She had obviously not done this before.
How wrong he was.
She looked over at her daughter. Abigail was looking at her hands- mainly her nails-, which now had blood on them.
He started laughing quietly. "You have some nerve, attacking a god like that."
Abigail looked up. "You're not a god," she replied quietly, "Gods aren't wounded at the hands of teenage girls."
The evil smile faded from his face. "I would not speak to me like that if I were you."
"Go fuck yourself." was all she replied.
"It seems that I was wrong." He said slowly as he walked closer. "You do have some spirit."
She gasped for breath as he grabbed her neck and slammed her against the wall.
"It seems that you have a heart, Abigail." he uttered quietly as he raised his staff. She knew where he was going with this.
And she would not stop fighting.
"More than you will ever have." She retorted back.
"I wonder would happen if I took control of it. Let us see, shall we?" He raised the staff to her chest.
Her instincts kicked in.
"NO! GET AWAY!" She screamed. She tried to push him away with her hands. What happened next was unexpected.
Loki was blasted back and thrown against the wall. By magic.
The god groaned in pain as he got himself up. He looked over at Abigail, whose eyes were wide.
What the hell did she just do?
"That, my dear, was a mistake." He snarled as he got back on his feet.
Abigail picked up her fans and ran through the dark corridors. She had no clue what just happened. All she knew is that Loki tried to mind-control her and she blasted him back with something. Now, she had a pissed off Norse-God-of-Being-an-Asshole after her.
She had had so many better days than this. But, right now, she had to not focus on her good-day-gone-wrong and focus on not dying. Easier said than done.
All of a sudden, someone grabbed her.
"FUCK. GET OFF OF ME!" she screamed as she kicked the person behind her.
"If you think that you can so easily get rid of me, Abigail, then you are horribly mistaken." He hissed into her ear.
"What part of 'GET OFF!' did you not fucking get?" Abigail shouted. She bit his hand.
He hissed and loosened his grip just enough for her to slide out of it. She grabbed her fans from her belt and flipped them open.
There was no more running.
There was no more fear.
There was no more escaping.
She had to fight. She had to end this.
She breathed and focused.
"Come on, Loki. Just you and me."
Loki glanced a her, still rubbing his hand, and raised an eyebrow.
"Do you really want to fight me? A god?"
"What, are you scared?"
He growled in anger and charged forward with his staff. Abigail jumped out of the way and spun to face him.
Abigail knew what would happen. His anger would be in the way of his control.
Just taunt him and distract him until one of the Avengers gets here. You got this, Abby. You've done it before.
"YOU AIM LIKE A GIRL!" she taunted.
He roared and charged at her again.
"HOLY SHIT!" she jumped out of the way, barely missing the point of his weapon. "Sorry, my dear Loki. It was close, but not close enough."
"You taunt the wrong god, mortal."
"Oh, so I'm mortal now? No first-name-bases anymore?" she replied sarcastically.
"You'll be dead soon." He growled with another swing.
Miss.
"You know," Abigail said, confidence growing, "maybe you should get Thor to teach you how to fight. He does it better than you, after all."
Loki raised his staff to hit Abigail. Right there. Vulnerability.
Abigail darted forward and sliced through his armor down to his skin.
"Argh!" He stumbled back slightly, clutching his stomach. He looked up, his eyes filled with anger.
"Not a good idea, Abigail."
Unexpectedly, he charged forward and swung his staff. Abigail, running on just adrenaline now, jumped back and attempted to dodge the attack.
Was she hit? Well, no pain. No blood.
Fuck yeah! She was good at this!
All of a sudden, the Avengers crashed through a wall. Thor flew into Loki, grabbed his neck (what was with him and touching Loki?), and pinned him to the floor with Mjolnir.
"Abby! Are you okay?" Pepper asked after she climbed through the hole.
Without Zach.
"Where's Zach?!" Abby asked frantically.
"He's with Agent Hill. He's safe, it's okay."
She breathed a sigh of relief.
Wait.
Breathing shouldn't hurt.
"Abigail..." Pepper gasped, eyes widening.
Her head started to spin. She fell onto the floor and sank to her knees.
What the hell? What was going on?
Her hand wandered to her abdomen.
It was wet.
She was bleeding.
She looked over at Loki, who was smirking at her. He had hit her.
Was he smiling because she was kneeling?
And dying?
That little piece of shit...
She fell over and her senses started to blur. Everything was just a blur of colours and sounds. She tried to identify who was who.
"Abigail!"
Pepper?
"Tony, put pressure to the wound. I'm going to go get a medic. Thor, get Loki to a cell."
Steve?
"Steve, hurry. She doesn't look to good."
Natasha?
"PUNY GOD HURT CHILD. HULK SMASH PUNY GOD."
Well, obviously that was Bruce.
"Not now, Hulk."
Clint? Or maybe Steve.
"Brother! Look what you have done!"
Well, Thor was the only sibling here.
"Abigail, stay with me."
Abigail recognized that voice as Tony.
Then, she heard something she immediately panicked at.
"Agent Hill! Why are you here?!"
"He wanted to see Abigail!"
"BEE!" Zach cried out.
"Zach... no..." she whispered.
And then, she blacked out.
Oh, whoops. Looks like I put in another cliffhanger. #SORRY NOT SORRY. #LOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOLOL.
HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA no. I don't do hashtags. That was for comic relief.
Anyway, enjoy, read and review, and... yeah...
Oh wait! For any of you who feel like doing this, I'm on tumblr (musicalpanda97). So, you can follow me if you want. Also, I might (once this story is over) make an ask blog for Abigail so people can ask her stuff and she can answer. Yeah, so follow me if you want and stuff... yeah!
Oh, wait, hold up. Marvel owns anything Marvel-related and I own Zach and Abigail.
Enjoy!
