Kaori couldn't help but chuckle at her hot headed boyfriend as he chased her through the training grounds. She dashed through the trees, Kaori jumped and grabbed a tree branch, she spun and launched a roundhouse kick, Sasuke smirked and easily dodge the kick before grabbing her leg and launching a kick himself. The girl quickly blocked the kick with her forearms but was still sent flying on the grass below. Kaori sat up quickly and glared at him. She pushed her self up and onto her feet, her eyes darted through the trees, Sasuke had vanished. Kaori gasped and turned around, Sasuke appeared and slammed his body against hers and forced himself on top of her.

"You can go anywhere where I won't be able to find you," He smirked at the pink haired girl under him. She looked into his dark eyes and sighed. "Who say's maybe one day I won't try and hide, somewhere you'll never find me, even with that sharingan of yours" He smiled and gently grabbed her chin and lowered his head. "I guess we'll have to wait and see, I'll chase you until my legs fall off?" Kaori scoffed.

"Really? Just you're legs?" She raised an eyebrow. He smiled and pressed his lips against hers. "Fine, until death separates us," She sat up on and crossed her arms. "I guess that's better, but it sounds like you're asking for my hand in marriage Uchiha Sasuke," He didn't say anything, he just stood up and stuff his hands in his pocket. After what seemed like minutes before another word was exchanged Sasuke looked down at her. He smiled. Kaori looked into his eyes in awe. It wasn't just a regular, dull smile, but a sweet, genuine smile. "What's with that look Uchiha!?"

"Nothing...nothing," She turned and began to walk away and she got onto her feet quickly and followed him close behind. "Sasuke, tell me! Com'on," She whined.

"It's nothing, stop whining, it's unattractive," Sasuke said without turning to look at her. She growled and pouted. "Jerk!"

Kaori hurried past him. "AH! Why are you mad now? Kaori!?" He sighed. "How the hell am I going to spend the rest of life with that?" Sasuke felt himself smile before heading off after the raging girl.

The next day, Kaori stood in front of her home, Sasuke standing in front of her wearing his backpack. "So you're leaving now?"

"Looks that way," Kaori sighed and smiled. "I can't do anything about it, so have a safe trip,"

"I will, just stay out of trouble,"

"Excuse me? I don't purposely find trouble," She stated putting her hands on her hips. Sasuke just smiled and stepped closer. He grabbed the back of her head and their foreheads pressed together. "Idiot, I'll be home soon," Her lips formed into smile. "I know, you always come back home," Sasuke stepped back and quickly left.

"Hey! He called me an idiot!" Kaori cupped her hands around her mouth. "Just wait Sasuke, I'm smash you!"

"Uhh...Why are you screaming at the sky idiot?" Kaori growled and turned around. "Who are you calling an idiot?! Oh, it's you guys," Kaori meet the eyes of her team mates and best friends. Riana smiled at her while Kyoko examined her friend cautiously.

"I was talking to Sasuke," Kaori felt her self blushing from the embarrassment. "We were going out to grab something to eat," Kaori smiled brightly and clasped her hands together. "Food other people are buying?! I'm in!"

"It's my treat," Riana laughed. "Don't tell her that, she'll empty you're pockets," Kaori glared at the girl.

"Look who's talkin', you ate all our barbeque last week before we even got seconds," Kyoko blushed and growled. "Stop bringing that up! I went through a rough period with training and you know it,"

"Training you're stomach?"

"Shut it! Anyway, Riana tell her the good news!" Kaori turned to her friend. "My mothers expecting a baby," Kaori smiled at her friend. "Congrat's you'll be a big sister soon!"

"I'm excited too, I'll get to make baby clothes for the first time,"

Kyoko chuckled. "That's what you're excited about?" Riana blushed and fiddled with her hands. "I know, I'm excited for the baby's safe arrival too,"

"You'll be an amazing big sister Riana," Kaori said walking over and patting her friends shoulder. "Not to change the subject, but where are we eating?" She asked. "How about Shushuya?" Kyoko spoke up with a sparkle in her eye.

"That's fine," Riana said leading the way and her friends followed close behind.

Later that night Kaori sat in bed holding a picture frame in her hand. In the frame stood her mother holding her baby brother in her arms and her father holding her up on his shoulder. Their smiles full of happiness. 'Mom, I won't let you down, when I get married, I want a family just as big' Kaori sighed and set the photo on the her night stand along with a photo of her teammates and sensei and next to that, her and Sasuke. Kaori plopped down on her bed with a big smile. "I love them!"

A large dinner was being held in Riana's home. Sitting at the table was her family the Hyuuga's. Her parents sitting on either side of her, Riana wore a dark purple kimono, her long hir pulled up into a neat bun. An older man sitting at the end of the table, quite drunk held up a cup. "Here's to my beautiful daughter on her happy new bundle of joy," Riana's mother blushed and sighed. "Father please take it easy on the sake," The room filled with laughter, Riana smiled and held her hand over her mouth to hide her laughter. Her father cleared his throat and stood up. "Before we end our dinner with one announcement of good news, I must announce another one," Riana and her mother looked up at him with confused gazes. "Last week, Hiashi Hyuuga and his nephew Neji came to ask for my daughter's hand in marriage," The room grew still and Riana's heart stopped in those anticipation last words. "We have accepted, Riana shall wed Neji Hyuga in the distant future, we have yet to set a date," The room was filled with cheers and applause Riana's head dropped and she felt the room, no, the world grow silent. She could only hear the sound of her beating heart. Riana's mother leaned over and grabbed her hand. Riana looked up at her with hurt eyes. The girl stood up and slowly walked out of the room and down the hall of the to her family's garden as the party continued.

The sound of the water fountain in the middle of the garden soothed her aching heart, she stared into her reflection. In the pool of water another figure stood beside her.

"Father, how could you not have told me this news?"

"...I take it you are not happy about this news,"

"Of course not!" She shouted. "I don't know what's worse, to be betrothed to a man I've never met or to not be able to choose my own husband, or the fact that my own father went behind my back to set up such a thing and keep it to himself," Riana lowered her head as a few drops of tears ran down her face and fell into the fountain. Her father sighed and turned to her. "Riana, I am sorry, I'm only making a decision I feel will be best for you," Riana's mother walked into the garden silently and watched her family from afar.

"Father, let me make my own decision's this is MY life! Ever since the day I was able to talk, everything has been decided for me, I just want to walk my own path! I didn't even want to become a ninja!"

There was a sound of a snap was heard. Riana's mother rushed over wth her mouth cupped over her hand.

Riana held her red cheek and lowered her head. "Darling!"

Realizing what he had done he lowered his hand. "I wish...I wish I was never you're daughter! I wish I wasn't born into this family," Riana turned and dashed out of the garden and through the front gates of their house.

"Hotaka! How could you do that?!" He clenched his fist and lowered his head. "Miyuki, I didn't mean for this to happen, Riana will be in safe hands if something were to happen to me," He looked at his shaking hand as his wife embraced him.

Riana ran and ran through the village, she pushed past villagers and stumbled in her kimono but she didn't stop running, even when she ending up running through trees. Riana felt her foot knock into something and she tripped, and rolled down a hill with a scream. As her body came to a stop and she laid on her side staring into the grass with teary eyes. Her hair now undone and strands stuck to her lips and cheeks. She didn't care, she didn't want to get up. Her body felt heavy and numb. Closing her eyes, she laid there, listening to the sound of crickets. Something dropped onto her face. Another one, and another one. It was starting to rain and soon it was pouring.

Riana felt her clothes beginning to get soaked. This didn't move her, not one inch. Then it stopped. The rain stopped. Riana slowly opened her eyes, her vision blurry from her teary eyes. Suddenly she felt a feeling of relief wash over her as featureless eyes meet a pair of beautiful blue ones.

"Hey silly, why are you laying on the ground, it's raining," Kaori was squatting down over her holding a big red umbrella with a white bag hanging around her wrist. "Don't play on sleeping out here do you?" The girl joked. Riana felt her tears pushing through against as she sat up and wrapped her arms around her friend's neck and sobbed loudly. Kaori couldn't help but smile and put the umbrella in the hand holding her groceries. She used her free hand to rub her friends back. "Big baby,"

Kaori put a small cup of tea in front of Riana and sat across from her. "I see, so that's why you ran and knocked my groceries out of my hand?" Kaori asked with a smirk. Riana blushed as she suddenly remembered.

Kaori walked toward her home with an arm full of groceries. "Geez, next time I'm waiting until Sasuke comes home, he could have helped carry all these bags, how did I let that sales clerk talk me into buying an umbrella," Kaori groaned.

"Hey watch it!" She heard a man shout in front of her. Kaori looked up only to be suddenly knock over by a girl running past her. "OW!" She sat up and glared at the girl who was still running away. "Why that little-" She felt something wet in the palm of her hands, glancing down she groaned. "My eggs!"

Riana chuckled a bit before clearing her voice. "Sorry about that," Kaori nodded as she took a sip of tea from the cup in front of her. "So are you really not going home?"

"...I don't want to go back there, I'm sick of him making decision's for me," Kaori smiled at her and stood up. "That's fine, you can always stay here and help me clean," Riana looked up at her friend as she walked back over with a photo frame. Kaori placed the photo infront of her and turned it towards her.

"I understand, it sucks to not be able to make your own choices, but it's still you're life Riana, you only get one...trust me, so living you're life the way you want to live it," Riana stared into the photo and her eyes softened and she picked up the photo. "Sometimes, parents do things the think is best for their kids, without knowing or thinking about about the child's feelings," Kaori chuckled. "That's weird isn't it?"

Riana stayed silent.

"Let's go talk to you're dad, I'll go with you!" Riana watched as her friend stood up with a confident smile.

Kaori stood in the garden of Riana's home, both under her red umbrella. Her father and mother a few feet away. Standing at their daughter with concern. Riana looked into her father's eyes. After a few moments of silence. Riana spoke up.

"Father, I'm sorry," Hotaka, taken by surprise walked towards his daughter and wrapped his arms around her, in a tight embrace. "Thank goodness, you're home," Kaori smiled as her father let a few tears falls down his cheeks.

Riana shocked by her fathers actions, slowly wrapped her arms around as well. "I'm sorry," He muttered. Riana nodded and took a step back. "Father, I must admit, not all the choices you have made for me haven't been choices that haven't had good outcomes," Riana turned to Kaori as she stepped up. "Nice to meet you, I'm Kaori, I'm one of Riana's best friends, sorry to intrude at such a tense time," He shook his head and smiled at her. "You brought my daughter back, I owe you,"

Kaori chuckled. "I'm glad you said that," She closed her umbrella. "I have a wager I want to place with you,"

The Hyuuga all had their attention on Kaori. "The chunin exam's are coming up, when my squad enters, and if I lose, Riana get's to make her life choices are your's to make," Riana's eyes widen and h walked towards her friend. "Kaori, you can can't be serious!" Kaori held up one finger. "And when I win, Riana makes her own choices,"

The garden grew silent. Hotaka let out a loud roar of laughter and stepped towards her. "Kaori? Kaori Ryuichi, correct,?"

"Uh, Yes,"

He held out his hand . "I like you're spirit, I accept you're wager," Riana watched stunned. "But, if you lose, Riana and you shall no longer be friends,"

Kaori, shocked at first lifted her hand and they shook. "I accept,"

"Kaori you're putting our-"

"Riana..."

"Yeah?"

"Do you trust me?"

"Of course,"

"Then you already know the outcome of this wager," Kaori said not taking her eyes off Hotaka with a smirk.

Riana felt herself relax and smiled at her friend. Hotaka just looked the girl down up and down. They let their hands drop.

Hotaka and Miyuki sat in their bedroom, silently. Miyuki rubbing her round belly. "Do you really take that young girl seriously?"

He chuckled and looked out the window, the rain had stopped. "That girl is something strange, I take her very seriously, Riana has made a strange friend it seems," Hotaka smiled at this. "I won't have to worry about her after all,"

"What's that dear?"

"Nothing, just thinking to myself,"
