Chapter Eleven - Come to Me
~ A Teen Wolf fanfiction collaboration between Miss E Charlotte and Sage Londyn.~
"Avery…" Derek said, his voice a little strained as he sat up and looked around the kitchen.
"Hey, you're awake!" She said as she rushed over to him.
It took a few moments for his eyes to adjust as he looked around the room seeing some glass bottles with herbs on the counter, along with medical supplies.
Reaching for the deep wounds he'd had across him stomach and chest, he looked down when he realized he was bandaged up.
He gave her a questioning look and she choked back tears as she managed to smile at him; he was going to be okay.
As she gave him a ride back to his loft, he kept trying to ask her what was going on but she kept hushing him and turning the radio up. She knew she had some explaining to do and she didn't want to talk about any of it.
Once they reached his loft she immediately walked over to the windows and looked out, not ready for the barrage of questions he had.
Derek sat down on the foot of his bed and watched her as she refused to look over at him.
He started to pull the bandages off but she quickly said, "Don't. Leave them alone… you didn't see your wounds, they were bad… really, really bad."
"I'm almost completely healed, I can tell." He explained.
Nodding she looked back out of the window.
"Do I really have to ask you for the hundredth time how you did any of this?" He questioned.
"I learned it." She said quietly.
"Learned it where, from Deaton?" Derek asked, trying to make sense of what she was saying.
"A little. Most of it I read in books and journals that belonged my mom… she was like Deaton, you know? An emissary…" Avery said, feeling like some of the weight she'd been carrying around had finally been lifted; she'd wanted so badly to tell someone.
Derek was quiet as he processed everything that she said.
"Why did you think the alpha pack took me?" she asked him, turning and facing his direction half of her body in shadows from the pale moon light.
"To hurt me… to show how easily they can get to you." Derek said with a shrug.
Letting out a small, dry laugh she said "It's not all about you, Derek…"
"So they took you because your mom was an emissary?" He reasoned, unable to hide his surprise.
"No, they took me because of how powerful my mom was, and they thought I'd been raised learning all about this stuff." Avery said as she turned back and looked back out of the window shaking her head, wondering how different her life would have turned out if she hadn't lost her mom.
"I still don't understand why they kept you then." He finally said scooting a little closer to the edge of the bed.
"I read in some of my mom's journals about your family. Your mom had the ability to transform into an actual wolf form… that's so rare…" She began to explain but Derek cut her off.
"That doesn't answer my question." He pointed out.
"You're a Hale… and Deucalion wants you in his pack because he doesn't just want some pack of alphas. He wants the best of the best, he wants…perfection. He's here trying to build a perfect pack, and that includes a powerful emissary." Avery said nodding as she saw his expression change when he finally understood.
"They're forcing you to learn all of this." Derek breathed out.
"And I'm guessing he's probably counting on me being the weakest link and joining the pack, which he's probably hoping will persuade you to join the pack too." She explained her thoughts on the situation.
Derek shook his head as he looked down to the floor and thought back to when Kate had used Avery's well-being against him.
When he looked back up at her, he quietly watched her pale skin glow in the moonlight as she slowly took a deep breath and pretty much took the words out of his mouth as she said, "We're screwed."
Before he could respond she asked, "How'd you know where to find me… I was in my car so I doubt you were able to track my scent."
"That's where you go when you're upset." He answered as if she should have already known the answer.
She made an almost inaudible noise as she looked back towards the window.
"What?" He asked, when he heard her heart rate change.
"N-nothing." She answered a little too quickly to be believable.
She tucked some of her blonde hair behind her ear as his statement had reminded her that he did pay attention and notice things about her. Even if he didn't look into everything she showed interest in, or be remotely open about it like Stiles was.
Since she and Derek had ended things she'd been convincing herself that he didn't care that much about her, it somehow made things easier when she'd seen him.
Neither of them had intended for the relationship to end the way it had, it was one misunderstanding after another and before either of them could put the brakes on, the entire situation had spun out of control and it had gone too far for either of them to admit their mistakes and try to work past it.
Listening to her heartbeat and watching her, he had no idea what was running through her mind.
He thought of how he'd managed to put her in danger, yet again. Even going to her when he was badly wounded was a risk, but he truly thought he was dying and wanted to see her again.
As he started to stand up, she rushed over and said, "Sit down…"
Lightheaded from standing up too fast he nodded and sat back down, Avery knelt down on the floor in front of him.
Their eyes locked and he said, "You really shouldn't be here."
Immediately hurt by his words she said, "Why not…" she feared that it was because he didn't want her there.
After a pause Derek broke the eye contact and looked down as he said, "Everyone around me gets hurt."
"Everything that's happened to me… all of the bad stuff, none of it is your fault." She assured him as she rose up more.
Their eyes locked again, this time their faces were only inches apart.
His eyes moved from her eyes down to her lips and he thought of how much he'd missed her; missed everything about her.
Her breath caught in her throat as she stared at him, he'd been the first guy she'd loved; the first one she'd shared a real connection with. No matter what happened, she'd always love him.
Reaching down she rested her hands on his legs to push herself up just far enough to press her lips against his.
The second that their lips locked, her heart started to race inside of her chest. A part of her had forgotten exactly how he made her feel.
As she pulled back, a look of slight uncertainty on her face, wondering if kissing him was a mistake.
But when he leaned forward reclaiming her lips with his own, she didn't have the power to resist him.
She rose up farther and deepened the kiss as he hungrily moved his mouth on hers, leaning down he slid his hands down her sides some, before pulling her up on the bed with him.
Both of their breathing was already labored as she was straddling him, the passion from their kiss intensifying.
Rising up some, she grabbed the bottom of her shirt and pulled it up over her head, dropping it on the floor by the bed.
He rubbed his hands up her sides before he gently pulled her back down to him, their tongues danced as his hands tangled in her wavy, blonde hair. He savored the sweetness of her mouth, the familiar taste of her tongue.
As they moved in the bed he was now on top of her; the moon illuminated the room just enough she could see the dried specks of blood on his upper chest and shoulders.
He watched as she lightly trailed her fingertips over the dried crimson spots, leaning she kissed across his jaw line and held onto his strong arms as she lay back down on the pillow.
She arched up from the mattress and let out a breathless moan as he left a sweltering trail of kisses from her collar bone to the side of her neck.
Reaching around to hold onto his back, she lightly gasped as her fingers trailed over some of the still open wounds on his back.
"Are you okay?" Derek whispered his voice low as he stared down at her, his breathing ragged.
Avery closed her eyes for a few moments as she remembered back to Scott telling her that Derek was dead, and it took everything she had to not start crying.
"Avery?" Derek asked, his voice louder than a whisper that time.
Opening her light brown eyes she nodded and said, "I'd just really thought I'd lost you."
He opened his mouth to say something but she cut him off as she forcefully pressed her lips to his again, so thankful for him being alive.
Breaking the kiss briefly she said, "Don't ever do that to me again." Before hungrily moving her lips and tongue with his.
She moaned into his open mouth as his hands explored her half clothed body, when she reached around to hold onto his back again she smiled softly against his parted lips when she felt the wounds were almost closed.

After leaving Isaac's hotel room, Teagan texted Stiles back, asking where he was, then headed for Allison and Lydia's room, which was where they were at the moment.
She knocked on the door and within minutes it opened with Stiles on the other side. He reached out to grab her arm, pulling her into the room, as he said, "About time you got here."
"Sorry. I came down here as soon as I could." Teagan said back.
"I've been texting you for hours." Stiles said dramatically then added, "What were you doing?"
"I was... I, uh, I was just busy, you know?" Teagan stuttered, her face turning a little red.
"Doing what?" Stiles asked, not getting what she was saying.
Lydia and Allison, who were standing behind him, understood exactly what she was saying, causing them to shake their heads with a small chuckle.
"It's- It's nothing that concerns you. Me and Isaac were just spending some much needed alone time together." Teagan explained.
"What were you doing that you couldn't text me bac... oh, nevermind." Stiles said, finally getting it. He flashed her an apologetic smile, then said, "Sorry, if I had known,.."
"It's ok." Teagan said, interrupting him. "You said something major was going down. What's wrong?"
Stiles, Allison and Lydia quickly told her what they knew so far. The hotel they were staying in had the most guest suicides in the state. Lydia told her about the things she had heard earlier and Allison told her about the number in the hotel office went up by three, making them fear there were going to be three suicides that night. Something weird was going on, they just didn't know what yet, but Allison did comment on how Scott was acting when she saw him last.
"Oh, my God." Teagan breathed out, as she placed a hand over her mouth for a moment. "When I left Isaac he was acting a little strange too, but I just thought, well I hoped, it was just cause he was tired."
"I think it's more than that. Something is going on." Lydia said.
Allison nodded her head, then said, "Last time I saw Scott act like that was during the full moon."
"Yeah, I know. He was definitely a little off with me too, but actually, it was Boyd who was really off." Stiles said, then added, "I watched him put his fist through the vending machine."
"See, it is the motel. Either we need to get out of here right now, or..." Lydia began to say, as she walked over to the table beside the bed. She pulled open the drawer and grabbed the bible on the inside before continuing, "Someone needs to learn how to do an exorcism asap, before the werewolves go crazy and kill us."
"Okay, just hold on, all right?" Stiles said to Lydia, trying to calm her down. "What if it's not just the motel? The number in the office went up by three, right?" He added, as he looked between Allison and Lydia.
"You mean like three sacrifices?" Allison questioned.
"What if this time it's three werewolves?" Stiles suggested.
"Scott, Boyd and ..." Teagan paused for a moment, tears filling her eyes, as she whispered the last name, "Isaac."
"Maybe we were meant to come here." Stiles pointed out, giving them all the chills, as they realized he was right. Maybe this was meant to be, maybe who or what was causing the murders, led them straight there.
"Exactly! So can we get the hell out of here now? Please?" Lydia pleaded.
"I'm with Lydia. We need to get everyone and get the hell out of here." Teagan added, as she wiped a tear from her cheek. She didn't care if running made them look bad, she was not going to stand around and watch her friends and boyfriend kill themselves.
"Wait, hang on. Let me see this." Stiles said walking over to Lydia, when he saw something sticking out of the bible. He took the book from her hand and opened it up, taking out a folded newspaper article.
"What is that?" Allison asked, as she, Teagan and Lydia crowded around him while he unfolded the piece of paper.
"'28 year-old man hangs himself at the infamous Glen Capri'." Stiles said, reading the headline out loud. He sat the paper on the bed and flipped through the book, coming across several more newspaper clippings of other articles about suicides at the hotel.
The four teens laid out each article on the bed, looking over all of them, as Teagan spoke up and said, "Oh, no. Look at these two. They both mention the room 217."
"These are probably all the suicides that happened in this room." Lydia pointed out.
"So if every room has a Bible..."
"There could be articles in all the rooms." Lydia said, finishing Allison's thought.
"That's a beautiful thing. Most places leave a mint under the pillow." Stiles said, then added sarcastically, "this one leaves a record of all the horrible deaths that occurred."
"What if the room next door has the one about the couple?" Lydia wondered out loud as she thought about what she heard earlier.
The four friends looked at each other for a moment, before glancing over their shoulders to look at the door. Stiles rushed to the door first, jerking it open, as the three girls followed along behind him. They rushed over to the room beside them, noticing the door was now locked.
"No, that was not locked before." Lydia pointed out.
Teagan looked over at her confused and scared friend, reaching out to grab her hand and gave it a squeeze, letting her know it was ok. She believed her and they were going to figure this out.
Lydia gave her a small smile to thank her and held on tight to her hand. She was terrified about what was going on, about what was happening to her and just needed to hold on to something that was real. Her best friend.
"Forget it." Allison said, as Stiles tried a few more times to turn the handle. "We need to get Scott, Isaac, and Boyd out of here." She added.
Stiles and Allison turned around first, taking a few steps away from the door. Lydia and Teagan were about to follow them until they heard a noise coming from inside the room, causing them both to freeze.
"I'm not the only one who heard that, am I?" Lydia asked, worried she was hearing things again.
"No, you are definitely not the only one who heard it." Teagan said, freaking out.
"It sounds like someone turned the handsaw on." Allison said, as she stood beside the other two girls.
"Handsaw?" Stiles asked fearfully, as he appeared behind the girls.
The four pushed against the door as hard as they could, finally causing it to pop open, then rushed inside, seeing Ethan holding a handsaw and bringing it toward his stomach.
"Hey, no, Ethan, don't!" Stiles called out, as he raced over to him.
The two boys fought over the power tool until Ethan pushed Stiles away from him as he dropped the power saw. Stiles lost his balance from the shove and began to fall toward the floor, near the still running power saw, until Lydia quickly unplugged it from the wall right as he landed on the floor, his face inches away from the saw.
Teagan raced over to Stiles, kneeling down behind him, to check on him. The two looked up when they saw Ethan stick out his claws and tried to rip into his own stomach. Stiles and Teagan quickly ran over to him, both trying to grab one of his arms, fighting against him until he lost his balance and landing on a heater in the middle of the room, burning his arm, before he fell to the floor.
"What just happened?" Ethan asked, as he stood up from the floor and looked at them for a moment, before turning around and bolting from the room.
"Ethan." Stiles called out, as he and the girls ran out after him.
They had a million questions for him, but he had nothing to say back. Like them, he had no idea what was going on.
"Didn't you hear what I just said? I don't know how I got there or what I was doing." Ethan said, as he went down the stairs, feeling annoyed for being questioned by them, again.
"Okay, you could be a little bit more helpful, you know? We did just save your life." Stiles pointed out, as they followed along behind him.
"And you probably shouldn't have." Ethan said back, as he turned around and walked away from them.
"What now?" Lydia asked, feeling at a loss for what to do.
"I'll find Scott." Allison said, as she walked over to the stairs to head up to the second story of the hotel.
"I have to get back to Isaac. If he... I can't..." Teagan said, feeling tears fill her eyes at the thought of losing him.
"It's ok, go." Lydia said, as she nodded her head in understanding.
"We'll find Boyd." Stiles added, as he gestured toward himself and Lydia.
"The best thing we can do is get them out of this place." Allison pointed out, as she ran up the stairs to find Scott.
Teagan nodded her head toward Stiles and Lydia, telling them bye, before she turned around and ran for Isaac's room. She skid to a stop in front of the door and pulled out the key, thankfully that she remembered to grab it before she left the room, then rushed inside as soon as the door opened.
She flipped on the light and felt her heart beating in her chest when she noticed the room was empty. She took a few more steps inside as she called out Isaac's name a few times, each time sounding more desperate than the last. She quickly pulled out her cell phone from her pants pocket, planning to call him, worried he left the room and was somewhere out there trying to kill himself like Ethan before they stopped him. She was about to hit the button to call, when she heard a whimpering coming from under the bed.
She dropped her phone as she fell down to her knees and looked under the bed, surprised and relieved to see that it was Isaac.
"Isaac?" Teagan whispered, not wanting to startle him.
Isaac jerked his head toward her voice, looking at her like a scared little boy, as he whimpered, "I can't fix it. I can't fix it."
"Can't fix what? What are you talking about?" Teagan asked confused.
"I-I messed up. I always mess up and I can't fix it." Isaac cried out.
"Isaac, baby, you didn't mess up. Everything is ok, but I need you to come out, ok? Just grab my hand and come out." Teagan said calmly, as she held out her hand to him.
"No, no. I can't. I can't." Isaac said, as tears fell down his face. He looked over her shoulder, his eyes widen like he saw something, then he cried out, "You got to go. He's here, Teagan. You got to go."
"No, no!" Teagan yelled out, then added, "I'm not leaving you, Isaac, I would never leave you." She snapped her finger, trying to get his attention, then said, "Isaac, hey, Isaac, look at me. Hey, it's just me. No one else is in here. Just you and me. It's always you and me, remember?"
Isaac shook his head as he moved further away from her, wanting to believe her words, but couldn't. He knew his father was there, he heard him. He was in trouble and needed to be punished, but he didn't want to be punished. He hated to be punished.
"No, no, no, baby, no. You can't - Isaac, please, come to me. Please!" Teagan pleaded, as she held her hand out, waiting for him to take it.
She saw him look at her then look over her shoulder again, causing her to say, "No, hey, look at me. No one is there. Just me. Come on, Isaac."
Isaac looked over her shoulder one more time, then looked at her again, as he cautiously reached out, their fingertips barely touching, when Stiles rushed inside the room, calling out her name and scaring Isaac.
"We found Boyd! He's ok... now." Stiles announced. He glanced around the room, then asked, "where's Isaac?"
"Under the bed." Teagan answered. "We got to get him out. I know I can get through to him, if I can just get him out." She added.
"That's what this is for. He'll be back to normal in seconds." Stiles said, as he held up a road flare.
"Here, back up." Stiles said, as he kneeled down beside her and lightly pushed her back a little, before he lit the flare and leaned down to look under the bed. "Hey, Isaac. Got something here for you." He said, as he tossed the flare under the bed.
Isaac quickly backed away from the flare, coming out on the other side of the bed with a growl. Teagan sighed with relief then went to take a step to rush over to him, until Stiles grabbed her arm to stop her.
"Wait. Let's just wait a minute." Stiles said. He would feel a lot better with her going over there once Isaac shifted back.
"Teagan?" Isaac mumbled, as he shakily stood up from the floor, his face back to normal.
"Isaac." Teagan breathed out, as she pulled her arm from Stiles and jumped on top of the bed then jumped down to the floor in front of Isaac before falling into his arms.
Isaac held her close, burying his face in her hair, her scent could always calm him down. Afterwards, he pulled back a little to look at her, then over to Stiles, as he asked, "What happened?"
"What do you remember?" Stiles questioned.
Isaac shook his head and opened his mouth to speak but before he could, they saw a flash of red hair as someone rushed inside the room, startling them for a moment. Stiles jumped and screamed out, as Isaac subconsciously held on to Teagan, his eyes flashing for a moment, ready to attack until he realized it was Lydia.
"Boyd's ok. He just doesn't remember anything, like Ethan." Lydia said to them. After they saved Boyd, she and Stiles split up. He went to help Teagan with Isaac, while Lydia stayed with Boyd to check on him and see what he remembered.
"I don't remember anything either." Isaac shared with the group. He looked down at Teagan for a moment, as he added, "the last thing I remember is you were going to go meet up with Stiles." He looked at the other two in the room then asked, "What is going on?"
Stiles looked over at Lydia for a moment, knowing she was still upset from their talk earlier, then looked over at Teagan and Isaac as he said, "We think you all were poisoned with wolfs bane."
"How?" Isaac asked.
"I don't know." Stiles answered back.
The four looked at each other until they heard someone else run into the room, they looked over at the door and saw a worried Allison, as she called out, "I can't find Scott."

Walking out of the bathroom wearing just her underwear and a shirt of Derek's she'd borrowed, Avery stopped as she neared the bed and looked at where he was sleeping peacefully.
She softly sighed and shook her head at herself; she knew sleeping with him was a bad idea.
They were broken up, but then again she and Stiles weren't together either so technically she was free to sleep with whoever she wanted.
But she knew now was the worst possible time to be getting involved with Derek, Stiles or anyone else for that matter.
Every single person she cared about could be used against her and that was the last thing she wanted.
While she'd been locked in the bank all summer, she'd decided that she wouldn't take things any farther with either Derek or Stiles. But she'd had a moment of weakness and let things get too far with Derek.
Slowly, and trying not to wake him she climbed back in the bed and pulled the blanket up over herself.
Turning on her side and facing his way, her eyes roamed over his face. She had really almost lost him, the first person she'd ever fallen in love with. The one who made her realize she was worthy of being loved.
As her eyes moved from his face, to his bare upper body she saw he still had some dried blood droplets on his skin.
A pained expression set in on her tired face and she wondered if it was even worth it to fight the alpha pack. Sure, she didn't want to join them anymore than she wanted him to join them. But they'd already lost Erica, how many more of their friends would have to die?
She looked to where his hand was laying palm facing up just off the pillow under his head.
Wondering if either of them would survive the year she slowly moved her hand and gently laced her fingers between his.
It wasn't until she moved her eyes from their hands that she saw he was watching her.
"Oh, uhh…I thought you were asleep." She apologized as she started to let go of his hand but he closed his hand around hers, smiling when he heard her heart jump.
"I almost was." He answered quietly, even though they were the only ones there. "But it's hard to sleep when you keep staring at me."
Letting out a small laugh she apologized, "Sorry… I was just thinking."
Readjusting his head on the pillow to see her better he questioned, "What about?"
Not wanting to bring up the alpha pack or talk about him almost dying, she brought up something else she'd been thinking about.
"After we broke up, and you moved out… it took me the longest time to fall asleep at night without you there." Her voice was barely over a whisper as she admitted it to him.
With a small smile he said, "You think that's bad? Try moving from your bed to an abandoned subway car."
Laughing she said, "I'm being serious... everything just went downhill so fast and I'm still not even entirely sure what happened."
Not giving him a chance to speak she continued, "I'm sorry, you know? I should have tried to understand better what you were doing."
Raising his head and looking at her with furrowed brows, he questioned, "Why are you saying this now?"
Lifting her own head off the pillows she whispered, "Because they're going to come after us… and I honestly don't know if anyone is going survive this."
He frowned at not only her words, but also at the fact that she was right.
Without another word to him, she pulled her hand from his and turned on her other side to face away from him, as a single tear rolled down from the corner of her eye soaked into the dark pillow case.
Feeling the bed move some as Derek scooted up behind her, then pulled her body back against his.
Whispering barely loud enough for her to hear him, she could feel his breath on her ear as he said, "I'm sorry that I made you feel like you weren't the most important thing to me…"
Closing her eyes she tried to sleep but, her mind wouldn't let her rest. It wasn't long after he'd fallen asleep that he rolled onto his back, moving his arm off of her side.
Knowing he was exhausted from everything that had happened and would sleep through her leaving; Avery quickly stood, pulled on her jeans and looked at Derek, still sleeping and softly snoring as he lay flat on his back.
Locating her own shirt, she pulled his off briefly bringing it to her nose to breath in his scent, before she pulled her own shirt on and left his laying on the foot of the bed.
Quietly she tip toed over to him, and pressed a gentle kiss to his forehead before she headed towards the door.
Not pausing to look back at him as reminded herself now wasn't the time to be involved with anyone.
She had a pack of alpha werewolves to worry about and now her dad knew about everything.
Her time needed to be spent training with Allison and Teagan to fight and learn self-defense and continue learning everything it took to be an emissary because the days were quickly turning into weeks and she wasn't sure how much longer she'd have to make up her mind about joining Deucalion's pack.
A/N- Sorry I didn't get this chapter posted Monday morning like I usually do, I was really sick over the weekend and still not feeling good at all. Miss E Charlotte wrote the scene with Teagan trying to coax Isaac out from under the bed, and I really think it's one of my favorite scenes! Teagan and Isaac are just the cutest!
And we had some development with Avery and Derek this chapter! So, it's finally been revealed what Avery is… or has it? ^_-
Thank you all so much for reading! Don't forget to leave a review and let us know if you're still with us.
