Thanks for the reviews! It's been a crap week but I hope it didn't reflect on my work. Enjoy(:

Inevitable: Chapter 11

It wasn't even nine o'clock on Saturday morning when a loud banging resounded through Regina's mansion, rousing her from her deep sleep. Fifteen minutes till nine to be precise. An annoyed groan rose in her throat and she shut her eyes tight, hoping that they would give up and go home. Surprisingly, after a few more series of knocks, they did cease. She gave a small smile and nestled deep into the warm blankets, attempting to drift back off.

After a few more moments, just when she was falling back asleep, someone came rushing up the stairs and barged into her room. She gasped and shot up, her eyes landing on the culprit of her rude awakening.

"David!" She yelled, glaring at him and taking a pillow from beside her, throwing it at him, which he caught with ease. "I thought someone was coming to kill me!"

"Sorry," he said with a goofy smile but, instead of replying, she just groaned again and threw herself back down, wishing he'd go away.

"How the hell did you get in?" She asked, still not looking at him. He came and sat down on the side of her bed.

"I know where your spare is," he answered simply. Regina cursed herself for being so careless and letting him see where she put it.

"What is so important that it couldn't have waited thirty more minutes?"

"I have a question," he said innocently but Regina immediately knew that he wanted something. She cracked one eye open to stare at him. Sighing, she sat up and became very serious.

"David."

"Hm?"

"You go downstairs in the kitchen and wait for me and if, when I come down, I don't have a steaming cup of coffee put in my hand immediately something is going to get a fireball thrown at it and it just might be that thing you call a face!"

"Yes ma'am," he said with a smile, standing up and exiting her room, closing the door behind him.

"Black!" She yelled to him.

"I know how you like your coffee Regina!" he called back. She smiled slightly.

Of course he did.

"No," Regina said firmly, cupping the coffee cup in her hands and bringing it to her lips.

"Pretty please, Regina!" Charming begged the brunette.

"Begging will get you nowhere, dear," she said defiantly.

"But why not?" he begged like a small child who had just been denied his favorite toy.

"Because it has been only two weeks since the New Years party and I do not want my mansion to be turned into a graveyard for red, plastic cups and beer bottles!"

"I promise to clean up after! I won't even invite that many people," he tried to persuade her but she was having none of it.

"Actually you will be inviting zero people because the answer is no. Now I have a meeting at noon and I have to go shopping so I have to go get dressed," she said, guzzling down the rest of the black liquid and setting her cup in the sink.

"Fine. But this discussion is not over!" He yelled as she ran up the stairs to get dressed. A smile crept on his face as he watched her go. She was so cute in her pajamas, especially when the shirt was too big and practically swallowed her whole. He cleared the thoughts from his head and went to do the dishes.

The meeting was absolute hell. It was so boring Regina had to pour herself three cups of coffee. Three! When it was finally her turn to speak, she planned on making her speech short and sweet. Everything was going fine until the door flung open to reveal Mr., French, Belle's father.

"May I help you?" Regina asked as sweetly as possible.

"Yeah, I have a delivery," he said, lifting his arms that held a large bouquet of beautiful flowers.

"Well I'm sure that whoever they are for can wait until this is finished, don't you?"

"Actually, they are for you, Miss Mills," he said awkwardly. The color was drained from her face and a crimson color rose in her cheeks as everyone turned to now stare at her.

"Um…I-I…um…just put them right there please," she managed to stammer and pointed to a table next to the door. She said her thanks as he shut the door and attempted to compose herself. She managed to finish the speech and waited for everyone to clear the room, noticing how they paid special attention to the flowers, trying to see who they were from probably, before walking over to the flowers and plucking the card from the leaves.

Hope your meeting goes well

Change your mind maybe?

~David~

She rolled her eyes and threw the card into the trash. She did, however, pick up the flowers and carried them out with her. She would be stupid to throw away such a beautiful arrangement. She thought it was a nice gesture but she still wasn't persuaded.

Needing a few groceries, she drove to the store. She pulled into her normal spot and walked inside, heading straight for the food She hated shopping and she always tried to make these trips as short as possible.

In a matter of minutes, she was done and went to the register to check out. Right when she was about to leave, Sneezy pulled something out from behind the counter.

"Here, this was dropped of for you earlier," he said, handing her a box of chocolate covered cherries with a note that said

Pretty please with a cherry on top!

~David~

"Thanks," she mumbled to the dwarf as she walked away with her chocolates ad a smile on her face. On the way to her car, Emma pulled up in her yellow bug and got out.

"Hey Regina," she greeted her, walking over to help her with her groceries.

"Hello Emma," she said, looking at the blonde skeptically.

"What are these for?" Emma grabbed the box of chocolates, eyeing the note on top.

"Your father is quite persuasive when he wants to be. He definitely knows how to get people to do things for his own pleasure," Regina spat out without thinking. The blonde's eyes widened and a smile played on her lips, a wrong idea immediately shooting into her head. "That came out wrong," Regina corrected. "He wants to have a party at my house."

"Oh you should let him!" Emma exclaimed, putting the last grocery bag into the trunk and slamming it shut. She opened the box of chocolates and popped one in her mouth before the mayor could protest.

"That's what I've been hearing," Regina said with a roll of her eyes, snatching the box away from the blonde.

"It would be fun," she tried again. Regina furrowed her eyebrows and looked Emma up and down.

"So, I haven't seen Neal poking around lately. Did you break the news to him?"

"Yeah," Emma said guiltily. "And the bad part was that he wasn't even mad. He didn't protest at all."

Regina saw Emma's face become suddenly sad and she thought she had a pretty good idea why. "He didn't fight for you."

"No," she said quietly with a sad huff, wiping a tear from her eye. "He didn't fight for me."

"He just wants you to be happy, Emma," Regina attempted to soothe the blonde even though she didn't feel completely comfortable with the idea of being the supportive friend in one of those mushy romantic movies.

"You think?" she asked a little too hopefully to be declared completely innocent.

"You want to be with him, huh? You still love him," Regina said matter-of-factly. She knew that look all too well.

"I don't know what I want anymore," she said, trying to wipe the sadness out of her eyes. "But it doesn't matter. I'll figure it out. I might just be better off alone," she tried to change the top and laugh it off, an attempt that did not go unnoticed by Regina, who, not eager to continue with the romance topic, happily took this as an opportunity to ask the blonde a question.

"How much did he pay you?" she asked.

"Pay me?" Emma tried to look innocent "You think David paid me to tell you that?"

"You can stop playing stupid," Regina said bluntly, crossing her arms over her chest.

"Fifty," Emma mumbled. "But I still think you should have one!"

"Goodbye, Emma," she said, smirking at the blonde and ignoring her last sentence before getting into her car.

"How did you know he paid me?" She asked, curious.

"Maybe I have a superpower too," she grinned and slammed the car door, giving Emma one final look before driving off.

She was halfway home when something new caught her attention. Out of the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of white. Swiveling her head to look at the newly placed sign. Her eyes widened in horror as her eyes quickly adjusted to the words and she read them.

Apples are red. Don't make me feel blue

Just give in Regina! You know you want to!

She contemplating getting out and attempting to take the sign down but she wasn't an idiot. She knew it was way too big. So, she settled for pressing the gas peddle harder and speeding the whole way back to her house where she knew the smug Prince would be awaiting her arrival. She opened the door quickly, slamming it back behind her and throwing her keys, which she didn't even bother to use because she knew her door would be unlocked, down on the table next to the door.

"David Nolan where the hell are you?" she called, her voice ringing through the mansion.

"In the kitchen, dear," he called back playfully and the sound of munching could be heard from the kitchen as Regina advance fleetingly towards it. She saw him sitting at the island on a barstool, eating toast, and walked towards him, stopping just short of running into him. She stood there, hands on her hips and a determined and thoughtful expression on her face and he stared back with a cute smile.

"How was your meeting?" He asked as innocently as possible, munching on his toast and staring back at her, his grin never faltering. She didn't reply only kept staring at him.

"Fine," she said after a few more moments.

"Fine?" He asked, not believing what he was hearing.

"Fine," she repeated," you can have your little party. On one condition."

"And what's that?"

"You get up this moment and take that sign down," she said sharply.

"Yes, Your Majesty," he agreed, with a smile, standing up and maneuvering his way around him to clean his plate.

"Don't call me that."

"Yes… dear," he turned around from washing his plate and grinned.

"Better," she said with a small smile. "I'll take care of this. Go take the sign down," she instructed, taking the plate from his hands. "What time are you planning on having the party?" she asked as he was drying his hands.

"I was thinking around seven. Why?"

"Just wondering what time I needed to be ready," she replied.

"So you're coming?" he asked hopefully.

"I wouldn't miss it," she answered, mirroring his smile, already planning in her mind what she was going to wear.

Okay so the majority vote was Neal so I decided to continue with that plot but I also decided that I wouldn't just hand you their happy ending on a silver platter. And who knows- I might change my mind(:

Also, the next chapter will be the last chapter before things get wacko. Because I SMELL PLOT TWISTS!
