Card, Jack of Hearts: Preparing for the Ball, part one
"Did anyone see where Youji went?" Emily asked as she and some of the other girls looked around the area.
"Nope," Alyssa said as she looked to see if her cat eared friend had decided to hide in a trash can.
"Just wait till I get my hands on you, Youji." Taylor growled out as she looked amongst the crowd for Youji. "If I have to wear a dress while we're stuck down here, you have to wear one to the ball!"
"C-c-calm down, Taylor-senpai," Dragon said.
"No!" Taylor exclaimed, pouting and crossing her arms over her chest.
Dragon let out a sigh to how stubborn and childish her friend was being. It had been Emily's idea to go and get Taylor to help them find Youji so they could go dress shopping. So far, none of them were having any luck on finding the cat eared girl. That is until they all heard the familiar scream of said friend.
"There she is," Dragon said, smiling.
"But where?" Taylor asked, looking at Dragon.
The four looked around the area some before Alyssa spotted their missing friend.
"Um, guys…." she said as she pointed toward where Youji was.
The others looked in that direction as well and had to hold in their laughter at the sight before them. Riding one of the newer looking rides was Youji and Boris, with the former screaming for her life and looking absolutely terrified. This indicated to the friends that their friend was currently on one of Gowland's crazy rides.
"Well, now we know where she is." Taylor said, still holding in her laugh.
"Yup," Emily said.
A few seconds passed before all four girls broke out in laughter to Youji's terror.
"You sure you're going to be okay?" Boris asked as he helped Youji off of the ride.
Youji tried to say something in response but couldn't since she was still trying to get over her dizziness. Boris had an arm around her to help her stand correctly as they walked.
"Can you give me control? I need to puke." Yo said, sounding sick.
"Fine…." Youji groaned out.
Boris raised an eyebrow at her as Youji turned a bit green. She closed her eyes for a moment before opening them to show that they were now red. Boris blinked to this, eyes widening a little to show that he was curious as to how it happened. He opened his mouth to ask but couldn't as Youji turned even greener. She quickly put a hand to her mouth before running to the nearest trash can.
"Guess roller coasters aren't her thing," Boris said to himself, sweating a bit.
"Thank you for buying me the soda," Youji said as she and Boris were sitting within the food court. She was currently laying her head on the table they were sitting at, holding her stomach.
"No problem," Boris said, looking at her. "You don't do well with coasters, do you?"
"Not with a death trap like that," Yo said, still sounding sick.
"Not with something that Gowland invented, no." Youji said.
"I didn't say that," Yo said.
"I'm not your fucking messenger, Yo." Youji said.
"Who's Yo?" Boris asked. "That's the second time you mention them."
"...An annoying roommate within my mind." Youji said. "Basically, he's a whining, little bitch that comes out whenever I "die". That part is really hard to explain to people properly."
"I see," Boris said with a confused look. "So….how can I tell when I'm dealing with him?"
"My eyes turn red," Youji said. "If my eyes are red, he's in control."
"Ah, so that was him-" Boris said but was cut off by Youji.
"Yup," she said. "That was all him."
"I see," Boris said. "Does he take control like that a lot?"
"Only when I agree to it," Youji said. "Other than that, he only takes control when I die."
Boris nodded his head in slight understanding. Youji grabbed the soda that Boris had bought for her and took a sip from it as a familiar voice called out to her.
"Youji! There you are!" Taylor exclaimed, causing the poor girl to almost choke on her drink.
Boris looked toward the girls as they came up to Youji and practically surrounded her.
"Crap!" Youji whined, pouting and making her ears droop.
"You're coming with us now~," Taylor said in a sing song way, putting her hands on Youji's shoulders.
Youji whimpered as her friend pulled her out of the chair and lead her out of the park.
"She'll see you later, Mister Kitty~!" Taylor said as she and the other girls left.
"I hate you all," Youji said as she stood on the platform within the dress shop.
"Hey, it's not our faults that the ball is going to be soon." Taylor said, looking at Youji from over her shoulder as she was looking for her own dress.
"But it is your faults that I'm standing up here!" Youji hissed, glaring at Taylor. "Why do I have to be the one standing up here?!"
"Because there would be no way in hell that you would actually choose a dress on your own." Emily said sternly, crossing her arms.
"That's right!" Dragon piped in. "You would actually try to run away from us again."
Youji crossed her arms and pouted, grumbling angrily to herself as the worker came over to her and began to take her measurements. Dragon giggled at her friend before continuing her own search for a dress. A few moments of silence passed as the girls looked for the dresses they were going to wear to the ball. Youji continued to stand on the little platform, still pouting at her friends before perking up when hearing a familiar voice.
"How the hell did we end up in here?!" Stephanie asked as she and Ace came out into the store from the back.
"I don't really know," Ace said, pondering on the answer to that. "I could have sworn the turn we took was the right one."
"Well, it obviously wasn't!" Stephanie said.
"Hi Stephanie-senpai," Dragon said as she looked toward her hot tempered friend.
"Hey Dragon," Stephanie said, giving her friend a slight wave.
Youji held up a hand and counted down the seconds it took before Stephanie spun around on her heel and stared wide eyed at them all.
"Hi guys…" Stephanie said, sweating a bit.
"Yeah, run," Youji said.
Stephanie moved to do so but before she could take even a step towards the door, Taylor quickly stood in her way.
"Don't think you're getting out of this too, missy." Taylor said, crossing her arms across her chest.
"Damn it!" Stephanie exclaimed as Taylor grabbed ahold of her and lead her to the platform that Youji was on.
"I was so hoping that only one of us could get out of wearing a dress." Youji said as Stephanie pouted and glared at Taylor. "But I'm also kind of happy that you get to suffer too."
"You're getting your dress first," Stephanie said, smirking at her cat eared friend.
"Shut up," Youji said, glaring at her as the worker continued taking her measurements.
