Back in the laboratory, the Timegate on the blue platform activated. Seconds later, Regina, Rick, Dylan, and Paula came tumbling out of the portal, landing on the platform. Dylan went over to Paula's side and picked her up.

Regina looked around. "It's good to be back home," she said.

Rick nodded in agreement. "I couldn't agree more."

Regina turned to Dylan. "Now that I have fulfilled my promise to you, there is only one thing left to do."

Dylan had a quizzical expression on his face. "What do you mean?" he asked.

"We need to go back in time and prevent the government's project from ever taking place so that none of this mess ever happens again," Regina answered him.

"How are you going to do that?"

"We must convince the government not to dabble in time manipulation."

"What makes you think that they'll listen to us?"

"They have to listen. They have no choice. If they don't listen, it's the end of the human race."

"But, how are going to convince them? Wouldn't you need some solid evidence of the results of their wrongdoings?"

Regina smiled. "I already have it here." She took out a USB drive and held it up to Dylan's face. "This device has all of the evidence we need."

Dylan was surprised. "But, how?"

"I asked Rick to install a secret camera on my suit before I went back in time with you on our mission. I had it recording the whole time we were in the past."

"You videotaped our mission?"

"From the end of our first mission together, Rick and I knew that time travel was a dangerous business. Since we had access to Dr. Kirk's 3rd Energy research and could travel in time at will, I figured that after the mission was over, I could ask Rick to build me a Timegate so that we could go back in time and stop the government from continuing Dr. Kirk's research or better yet, stop them from allowing him to carry out his research."

"Wow. You really thought ahead. I am impressed."

Regina did a curtsy. "Why, thank you, good sir."

Dylan chuckled. "So, now all we have to do is go back in time to warn the government. Sounds easy enough. Let's go!"

Regina's facial expression became sorrowful.

Dylan saw her downcast eyes. "What's wrong, Regina?"

"There is something that you need to know," Rick answered.

Dylan turned towards Rick. "What is it?" he asked him.

"There is a catch to completing this plan," Rick said gloomily.

Dylan noticed his facial expression. "What is it?" he inquired.

"If we go back in time and stop the government from doing any research involving time travel, it changes our future."

"Yes, I know. That is exactly what we want, after all. Why is it a problem?"

"By changing the future, we alter the current timeline, which means that we will be erased from existence."

Dylan blinked. "I...I don't understand."

"If we stop the government from experimenting with time travel, we will cease to exist."

"But...how? We won't die when the government gets our warning. We'll still be alive."

"No, our past selves will still be alive."

"I'm afraid I don't follow you."

"Our past versions of ourselves that existed before the government started their experiments will not be affected by our plan. However, the future versions of ourselves that existed after the government initiated its research will be affected. By changing that point in time, there will be no crisis, so we will cease to exist."

"I don't believe this. So, if we stop the government from messing with time travel, we will vanish from existence because this whole mess will never happen?"

"Sadly, yes."

"But..."

Regina stepped into the conversation. "It's best that we do this, Dylan," she voiced. "We should have never laid our hands on a toy so dangerous." She paused and added, "You can see why I wanted to save you first."

Dylan held back tears. "But, Regina," he replied.

Regina held Dylan's hand. "We have to do this," she insisted.

Dylan looked into her eyes. They somehow told him that everything is going to be all right. He also looked at Paula. She was smiling. "Papa," she uttered. "Don't...worry... Be...happy."

Dylan smiled. "You're right," he replied, turning to Regina.

Regina smiled. "All right, then," she said. "Let's go."

"Wait!" Dylan blurted.

"What is it?" Regina wondered.

Dylan took out his sister's necklace and gave it to Regina. "Here," he answered.

Regina had a puzzled look on her face. "Why are you giving me this?"

"Since we are going to disappear soon, I remembered that you said that I owed you one, but I didn't have anything else to give to you, so I want you to have this necklace."

"Oh, Dylan." Regina looked at the necklace for a moment and then handed it back to Dylan. "I can't accept this."

"Huh? Why not?"

"It's your necklace, not mine. It belongs to you."

"I want you to have it. It's the least I could do."

"Dylan, you don't have to give me anything. I was just happy to help a friend. I realize now that I shouldn't be paid for helping a friend. Besides, your being here is the best pay I could ever get."

"Oh. O-okay."

"Thank you so much, though." Regina handed Dylan the necklace and gave him a kiss.

Dylan blushed. "Y-you're welcome."

Regina faced Rick. "Do you know our designated point in time?" she asked him.

"Yes," Rick answered. "I was looking through the government's top-secret files, and I found the date on which they had their first meeting about their time-traveling experiments. I put the date, time, and location of the meeting into the Timegate. We are ready to leave at any time."

"Excellent." Regina looked at Dylan. "Ready?"

Dylan nodded.

"All right, then!" Rick exclaimed, starting the Timegate. A time-travel portal formed, ready to be entered.

Regina, Rick, and Dylan, who was carrying Paula, stood in front of the Timegate.

"Here we go," Regina commented.

"It's now or never," Rick stated.

"Let's do this," Dylan declared.

Dylan and Paula went into the Timegate first, followed by Rick and Regina.
