A.N.: I'm lazy and it's been almost a year.
The living room was no longer trapped in it's painfuly quiet and upleasently peacful state, for the inhuman shriek of an android in pure agony tore through the still air. Chell, who was asleep with her head rested on the couch where said android lied, snapped open her eyes and flung her head up. The only light in the whole room was of that radiating from the robot, Wheatley's glowing blue eyes.
Chell gasped, nearly choking on the air she'd inhaled. Wheatley's long scream had faded into just short breaths now. Chell clapped a hand over her mouth in pure joy. She had been waiting and waiting for three weeks for him to wake up.
She cried.
Wheatley's eyes flicked from the ceiling, then to her as she sat there with her silvery gaze set on him.
He cried.
He turned on his side, there was pain but he didn't mind, and he reached his arms out weakly to embrace the girl and she fell into him. She was cold, but so was he and together they got warm. He sat up, still holding her. A sob racked her body but he held her tight. He was tired and in so much pain, but this moment had gotten rid of it. Chell shifted and Wheatley winced, for the pain in his abdomen had become too intense for him to not do anything about it. She let go of him and backed away bit to look at him. He had dark rings under his bright blue eyes, but he was smiling. Chell turned her head when she heard someone bounding down the stairs. Not a second later, Logan came into view. He stopped in his tracks when he saw the two.
Wheatley was finally awake.
"Get the hell out of my house!" Logan yelled loudly at the monster of a man who lingered in the dining room. His metal hand tightly gripped a gun that was smoking at the end. A sign it had just been shot. His cheek was a dark purple. He was ugly and that made it worse. The man scoffed and smirked.
"Give me the girl and I just might."
With this statment, Logan grew furious. Chell was in the other room trying to stop Wheatley from bleeding out. His shirt was ruined and was lying on the ground next to her. Her hands were bloody. There was a sick feeling in her stomach. How can robots bleed this much? How can robots bleed at all? Well, that was the least of her worries.
Logan looked at the man, his brows knit together in anger.
"Why?" He asked coldly, rubbing softly at his neck. He was sure that there was a mark from when when he was almost choked to death.
"Because I said. Now, I'm not gonna ask again. Give me the girl, or I'll have to take her..."
"Maybe I might if you tell me what you need her for."
Chell couldn't quite understand what Logan meant. Was he actually going to give her up to the man who had wanted to take her away and do god knows what with her? After everything. What was Logan going to do?
"Dad?!" There was a small voice coming from the other end of the room. All of them directed their attention to the child looking out on them at the base of the stairs.
Logan gasped "Marnie! Go back upstairs now. Everything is fine." Marnie didn't move and behind her, Gabe trundled down the steps.
"Dad what the hell is going on?" He looked over and saw Wheatley's bloody body on the floor, gaging at the sight of the deep red fluid pooling under him.
"Both of you, to your rooms. Now!" Logan yelled. Gabe grabbed Marnie's wrist and pulled her back to where they came from.
Logan let out a defeated sigh. "Just tell me what you want with Chell, and I'll decide whether you get to have her or not."
The brute put his hands on his hips and spoke.
"I'm taking her back to where she came from. Back to the city. Back to the the slum asylum where she belongs. You're protecting a mentally unstable woman here and she needs to be brought back to her place." He swallowed "You're also harboring an android whose origin is unknown. He is dangerous and must be deported back to the Research Facility for further investigation."
Android?
Logan chuckled darkly "Do you honestly think I'm going to let you lie to me like that? The asylum burned down. I don't know what you're trying to do with her, but I'm not having it." Logan straightened. "Get out of my goddamn house or else I will use force."
The man laughed. "What kind of force?" Logan turned on his heel and walked to a small closet on the side wall of the dining room. He turned the doorknob and reached inside. Out he pulled a large gun, one neither Chell nor the other man had seen before. He aimed it right at the intruder.
"This sort of force." He fired the gun.
