Will turned off the shower and stepped out onto the bathroom mat. She grabbed the nearby towel and began to dry herself off. Even though she was not experiencing a transgendered event like four of her friends, including her boyfriend, the body swap itself was still just as harrowing. Haylin's body was much more bouncy than hers, lighter in many ways, well deserving of Haylins's element. She didn't have Will's fitness from swimming, but Will didn't mind that so much. She was however very unnerved when she caught sight of Haylin's naked body, either from directly looking down, or glancing in the mirror. Will didn't really want to see anything. Haylin was her friend and this was a massive invasion of privacy.
She paused for a minute and, still with the towel in hand, cupped Haylin's breasts. Will could feel their size, and now had a direct comparison with her own. Sadly Haylin was on the less heavy side, but she'd never outwardly shown any thought really upon the matter. Will smiled as she was reminded of her transition through puberty some years ago, and the envy Irma had from the likes of Cornelia during that period in their lives. The irony of their present predicament was not lost on her.
It wasn't long before she was dressed in Haylin's finest, a short skirt, with top and jacket. She glanced in the mirror and gave a quick practice smile to make sure she could be convincing when inevitably they had to play their parts later that day, and she was ready.
Downstairs in the basement the group had already finished changing. The "boys" sat in one corner deep in conversation, whilst the others went about tidying and packing away, discussing things as they rolled up their sleeping bags. You could be forgiven for thinking that it was just another ordinary day. Sadly though this was quite definitely the limit to their comfort zone for the day, as invariably they'd have to leave and go their separate ways for the evening. Will doubted that her mum would let her, or rather Matt stay out two days in a row.
"What's the plan now?" she asked, walking over and taking a seat on the couch. Everyone continued their bustling about, pondering as they did.
"I vote we go shopping!" Hay Lin chimed, still cheery as always.
Cornelia gave her one of her famous looks. "What good would that do?"
"Well we can't mope around here all day and we might as well get some fresh air, and get used to being ourselves in public." Everyone paused to think for a moment as Hay Lin glanced round for feedback. Despite everyone's hesitancy they might as well. Matt and Caleb were noticeably hesitant, as were Taranee and Irma, though to a much lesser extent.
"I'm still not sure about that? What if people we know see us?" Matt added in.
"Well we just play along. It's not like they're going to really pick up on anything if we keep the conversations brief." The rest of the group mulled it over.
"Look," Haylin reasoned as she stood up in the middle of the group. "We're not really going to gain much by staying here, so why don't we all go out, enjoy a bit of retail therapy and see if we can't figure this all out with clear heads."
"I'm game." Will contributed.
"Me too" furthered Irma.
"Then it's settled." Haylin decided not waiting for the rest of the chorus. "Motion carried. Now I just need to tell my mom…." She began before Will caught her by the arm and silently gave her a smile. "Oh, yeah, right. You need to go tell my mom."
Luckily the Lin's were all busy so Will hadn't needed to do more than mention they were going out for a while and that she'd be back that evening. The Lin's seemed to be far more liberal about Haylin's comings and goings than her own mom but it was neither here nor there at this point.
They walked out the front door feeling the slight breeze blow past them.
"How do you put up with this thing?" Caleb said, as he fought to keep Cornelia's long skirt in check. Really it was just irritating him, there was no actual danger of it flying up Marilyn Monroe style.
"Well mostly we just cope, Mister rebel leader." Cornelia snapped back as she strutted off.
"Give me a bunch of angry Lurden's anyway. At least you get to wear Jeans." He whispered to Matt, who giggled in a style not dissimilar from Will's natural laugh. Perhaps less so for Caleb but this might not be as hard as they had all thought.
The rest of the walk was pretty uneventful with each of them stumbling over a pavement or tripping on a set of steps at least once, still unfamiliar with the different balance and movements of their new bodies. Taranee and Irma had to be reminded on occasion not to mince so blatantly for fear of attracting the stares of the wrong kind of men, and they all tried to pick up the mannerisms of their counterparts but by the time they sat down for a coffee opposite the Mall they were all feeling much more relaxed. It did help that no one they knew had spotted them yet.
So it's been a while since I put anything up for this fic. Rest assured, its neither abandoned or forgotten, I'm just going through a time in my life where everything is changing, IE, houses, Jobs, Relationships etc. It hasn't left me much time for fun, and this ranks in that neglected fun category sadly. Every now and again though I get a lovely comment through on this from someone and it brings me back some inspiration and drive to keep going, so please keep reading and reviewing, it really means a lot and helps out massively.
Hopefully the next chapter will be not too far down the road. Thanks to everyone who's sent me messages and reviews since I last posted.
