Chapter 11 - A Way

"Sting, Rouge," my voice sounds brittle to even my own ears, "what have you found out?"

"Not much, Lucy," Rouge says, "Acnologia is king though."

I sigh, "You've done well, I only expected as much."

"Here he is!" Wendy pointed to a cage. Inside was a tiny dragon with midnight blue scales spotted with 17 white dots - four on his head marking his muzzle, eye ridges, and forehead and the other 13 marched down the ridge of his spine ending at the point of his tail. The dragons eyes were a piercing green and they stared in of the Slayers in fear.

"It's okay," Wendy soothes, "we want to help you." The dragon stared at the girl's outstretched hand. After a minute, the dragon sniffed it before rubbing his entire head in her hand.

"So, what's your name?" Wendy giggled. The dragon stopped its movement, "How could you not have one?"

"Wendy, are you sure this is the dragon?" Natsu asked.

The blunette nodded, "He is the only dragon here not under Acnologia's control," she looked back at the dragon, "He doesn't have an element either."

"So the only thing that can stop Acnologia is a tiny, nameless, elementless dragon," Gageel asked.

"I guess so."

"We're doomed!" Natsu shouted.

"It is time to start killing them," I say calmly to the Council. I can see the apprehension in their eyes. "They won't tell us anything and will only attack us if we let them out of their cage, which won't last forever, mind you. We need to kill the Dragons; eliminate them for good."

"All for say, aye," Kenzie tells them. There is a chorus. "All opposed." only a few speak out.

"Then, Sting, Rouge, I don't think you have a much of a problem killing Dragons. You will start tom-"

"Lucy, there's another way," Levy stops me mid-sentence, "I found a weapon in this book," it was large and old, "it is the Sword of the Dragon King. It i said to be so powerful to kill dragons,"

"How is that another way?"

But not only kill them, but control them," Levy looks at me. I see the best friend I knew so long ago. The one that laughed and read and...I lost her to this war to the Dragons. "You see, Lucy, if we find this sword we could control the Dragons."

I close my eyes, "Fine, I will go looking for the sword. If I don't find it in three months, Sting and Rouge will begin killing them."

Levy smiled broadly.

"Open stupid cage!" Wendy shouted before the cage flung open and out flew the small dragon.

"At least he can fly."

"Stop that!" Wendy chided, "he's only a baby you could hurt his feelings.

"Who's out there?" a certain blonde's voice sounded as she grew closer to the Slayers. "This is a restricted area; unless you have permission, you aren't allowed here."

The Slayers and the dragon began to run.

"Laxus?" the man hadn't run away fast enough.

"Lucy, what are you doing out here?"

"I could ask the same of you," her eyes flited around the scene. Cage door open, Laxus seemed to be running away. She connected the dots.

"I heard someone out here and decided to see what was up. They just ran off with a dragon I think."

"I guess we have one more cage to fill," sighed Lucy. " By the way, I was looking for you." His eyes widened. "I'm going on a mission to find a sword that will control the Dragons so we don't have to kill them. I want you to come along to help me."

"Sure, yeah," he stuttered.

"Okay, we leave tomorrow."

"Great."
