Ch. 11 A Day at the Park

Another fabulous installment is here for your enjoyment! Are Spyra and Cynder going to get closer to Ellis or will they continue to flounder as that time gets closer? Read on to see how they do!

To the guest reviewer: They haven't actually confessed but they did tell him what was going on in chapter two but they didn't confess to him. He didn't forget but he's trying to ignore it so as to keep their friendship intact as much as he can to avoid another accident. He's oblivious to their plan involving him though.

Volteer's class seemed to pass uneventful this time. Sure Ellis got a few more stares from the females than usual but nothing really popped out like the previous class. Alyna did give him a once over but no more than usual and he was left alone.

"Now class don't forget that your work is due next week. I look forward to reading you great, wonderful, enlightening and exciting research on different types of conduits for conduction." Volteer said as he dismissed them. "Ah Mister Daniels, a word if you please?"

Giving out a sigh of trepidation he sat back down as the class left and Volteer laid down in front of him. "Is there something wrong Volteer?"

"Oh no nothing that is wrong but it is my pleasure to inform you that I have volunteered to be your Electricity instructor when you get to that point." Volteer said excitedly as Ellis frowned.

"Isn't Spyra already doing that?" Ellis asked curiously as Volteer nodded.

"Oh yes she is but even she will acknowledge, confirm, accept that fact the she is still learning and not yet ready to be a full instructor. I have already spoken with her and she agreed that I would be better suited to the task of teaching you soon." Volteer said excitedly as he gave Ellis a grin. "I look forward to seeing how you perform when faced when multiple challenges." he finished as Ellis grimaced.

"As long as you don't try to kill me." Ellis replied as Volteer looked hurt.

"No, no, no, no, no never at all! Everything will be perfectly safe of course, I would not forgive myself nor would Cyril forgive me if you got hurt." Volteer said as Ellis sighed before nodding.

"Alright but I still don't have a firm grasp on anything." Ellis said sadly as Volteer nodded.

"Ah yes your condition upon transforming is indeed disheartening but it can be overcome with tolerance. Of course we will only train if you feel up to it but that is for later, for now enjoy your time before everything starts." Volteer said as he shooed Ellis away.

"Is there any way to avoid it?" Ellis asked hopefully as Volteer shook his head.

"Afraid not but you still have time to enjoy yourself before you need to worry. You could always have your one of your friends mark you and that should keep the others away but then you would be tied to your friends until you die." Volteer said as Ellis frowned. "Of course that would come with the obvious decision of allowing one of them to mate you."

And that was Ellis's problem, the mating part that had him scared to death. In his dragon form he probably could handle it but most females wouldn't wait until then and human on dragon might cause more problems...females are strong like that and ferocious ya know. "I can't do that to them Volteer, I can't choose one over the other."

"Then don't, those two are never ones for following rules and I'm sure they would be more than happy to accommodate you in that aspect." Volteer said as Ellis frowned again.

"I'll...give it some thought." Ellis replied as he walked out of the room with Volteer giving him a wave with his tail. "The main hall is where we need to meet."

-Main Hall-

"What took you so long?" Kyrin asked impatiently as Ellis rounded the corner.

"Sorry, Volteer wanted to talk." Ellis replied as Kyrin fumed.

"It's not polite to keep females waiting you know!" Kyrin exclaimed as Spyra and Cynder came around the corner as well.

"Oh good you're here, now can we go?" Spyra said impatiently as Ellis felt like he was ganged up on.

"You were late too!" he shot back as Cynder sighed.

"Ellis, females are never late and even if it is past the time we are suppose to be somewhere we are still never late." Cynder replied as Ellis steamed.

"Dates never start until the female has arrived hence we are never late." Spyra said as Ellis growled.

"You three suck." Ellis replied as the three dragonesses laughed. "It's not a date either so your argument is invalid."

"Dear Ellis, it's always a date with us." Spyra said as she walked past him with a seductive strut that made Ellis turn red.

"Even more so when you are...irresistible." Cynder said as she sensually rubbed her side against him with her tail finding its way way around his waist.

"Stop it!" he shouted as Spyra nipped his butt.

"Awww." the both cooed as Kyrin fumed before dragging her brother out of the temple with a huff.

"Hussy's don't get my brother!"

"Get back here with him!"

"SAVE ME FROM THESE THREE!"

-At The Park-

"I told you they were in full bloom!" Kyrin said happily as Cynder and her gazed at the silver and black flowers. The petals were a bright silver as the stems came in a darker green with a small streaks of gold. The other flowers were a bright orange petals with a mix of red and yellow around the center with bright green stems.

"You know, they say that giving Silver Tongues represent an unbreakable bond of friendship while Bright Sun's represents bright and unconditional love between two people." Cynder said as Kyrin gazed at them.

"So pretty..." Kyrin trailed off as Ellis shook his head while glancing over at the Memorial wall that Spyra sat in front of.

True to it's namesake the wall was polished marble with a granite statue of a Dragon, Mole, Cheetah, Atlawa and a Manweersmall around a depiction of Avalar. Also true to its name were the numerous names and races of the many who people that died against Malefor and around the wall were various flowers left by family members or visitors to the site. It was melancholy to Ellis as he visited something similar back in elementary school on a class trip except that was to the Vietnam memorial and the wall was a lot longer with more than 58,000 names on it if he remembered right.

Spyra stared at the wall forlornly when she felt a hand on her neck and she nuzzled it as tears appeared in her eyes. Ellis had the same feeling as he gazed at the wall but he did his best to hide it but a few tears did leak out as the other two joined them in a moment of silence.

"Come one you three...let's get some ice cream." Ellis offered weakly as the three nodded and they gave the wall a final glance over their shoulder before Kyrin ran back and dropped a single Silver Tongue in front of it.

After buying their ice cream and finding a nice shady spot, they sat together in silence that they didn't want to break but soon did. "Brother, why did you choose to stay?" Kyrin asked solemnly.

"Because I had nothing to go back too, no friends or relatives to see nor a home that was warm and inviting. There was nothing but a dark and dreary place with someone I hate more than anything and it didn't want to go back." Ellis said after a moment of thought. "Here I have a place to stay, warm food and friends that I care about and a little sister I wish I had when I was growing up."

Kyrin's lip started quivering before she leapt onto his lap and threw her claws around him a large hug. "My brother is the best!"

Ellis smiled before Spyra and Cynder decided to join in and make an Ellis sandwich. "I love you girls."

The rest of the day passed eventfully as the three dragonesses led him on game of "spoil the females" as Ellis's wallet kept crying out in pain as it was continuously opened and empty of the money that was in it. Ellis always thought one female was bad but three made him wish he had just stayed in his room for the rest of the day but he kept his outward appearance as the three dragonesses splashed in the pond and every now and then splashing him with water.

After the intense splash and play event they went for a quiet walk along a flower-lined path that lead around the outer edge and through an apple orchard and just took in the sights of the one truly peaceful spot in Warfang. Along the way they were beset by wide-eyed children who wanted Spyra and Cynder to recount their adventures in Avalar and their time spent at the Temple and the two dragonesses were happy to oblige and they gathered around the group as they listened to the stories but soon the sun began to set and the children had to leave and the group had to return to the Temple.

-With Ellis-

Ellis laid on his bed that night with a slight smile as he recounted the events of today. It wasn't often that they had a day to themselves and when they did they all took advantage of it and to great success. One thing he could do without was the constant flirting by his friends but telling them no wasn't helping apparently.

Still he had fun and if he was completely honest about it, he secretly enjoyed the attention they gave him. Maybe the coming season wouldn't be that bad?

If only he knew how that question would turn out.

And we will end it there. Ellis got spend a day at the park with his friends and sister and he learns that Volteer will be training him soon. Next chapter will involve him helping out a few other people and the potential fallout of it so stay tuned for it!

Atlawas and Manweersmalls were part of the first LoS game.

Yes I got the Avalar Memorial from the Vietnam Veterans Memorial. I visited it as a kid on a class trip and when I looked at it I didn't know why but I just started getting teary eyed. I was just a kid so I didn't know why I was sad but I just was even though I didn't know anyone on the wall. I highly encourage you all to visit the site if you can, it covers 3 acres and it has The Three Soldiers statue as well as the Vietnam Women's Memorial.

Read and review and I'll see you all again next time!
