A smile crosses Travis Tanner's face as he reads the most recent text to his phone. It has been a long, long time since he as heard from Veronica. A bittersweet sentiment creeps up on him since their last encounter was not exactly cordial. The text tells him to meet her tonight at their NYC old haunt. He smiles and thinks.. Just try and keep me away.

Travis arrives early and orders a drink. He is curious beyond his ability to put it to words as to why Veronica wants to see him. My dear Veronica it has been too long, too long indeed rolls through his mind as he waits. He is lost in thoughts of their rather lengthy and colorful shared past.

As Veronica arrives at the evenings destination, she takes a breath to settle herself before walking. It has been a long time since she has seen Travis and seeing Travis again at none the less, her own invitation is something that requires a little mental preparation. Veronica is hoping that the demons he often stirs up in her remain solidly locked away in their Pandora's box.

Travis watches Veronica enter and she is just as beautiful as he remembers. He stands to properly greet her as Veronica approaches him unsure if a kiss or a slap will follow the greeting. Could be either and both have been earned.

"You are still the most beautiful girl in the room, Veronica." Travis breaks the ice with his opening line as Veronica gives him a hug as he pulls out a chair for her. "Such flattery isn't necessary, Travis." Veronica tires to center herself. Travis has a proven track record of rattling her brain.

"It is only flattery if it isn't true… and it is." Travis returns to his seat across from Veronica. "Imagine my surprise to see a text from you. I actually checked my phone twice to make sure it wasn't a cruel joke." Veronica smiles at him warmly. She knows she absolutely blindsided him but after all he put her through… he owes her and surprise is to her advantage.

"I do appreciate you coming." Veronica is touched as Travis orders her a drink and remembered her favorite down to the brand. "Oh Darling, just try to keep me away… so is this professional or personal." Travis is now fishing for information as to the reason for this little reunion and that is fair enough in this exchange. Veronica had worried that it would be awkward between them yet, here they are back into their old routine.

Veronica smiles at Travis as she answers. "Both… today its personal…tomorrow…professional." Travis is now very curious but he will take what he can get. The one that got away is here in front of him. He laughs to himself, she didn't exactly get away… He royally screwed it up… but she is here now.

"So isn't Pearson Darby reping your family?" Travis wants to know what this is about and this seems to be the logical start. "They are representing my father's company." Veronica's tone is firm and the statement is a bit direct to Travis' ear.

"The take-over attempt from Caldwell?" The drinks arrive on cue. "For the lady a Grey Goose Martini, up, extra dirty with extra olives." Waiter places the drink in front of Veronica. Travis raises his glass. "To old friends." Veronica is actually enjoying this interaction with Travis. She had forgotten just what pleasant company he can be.

"So what would you need my services for if you have access to Pearson Darby?" Veronica gives him the look. The look that used to render him completely helpless. He has missed that look. It those damn eyes they see straight through him. "If I remember correctly, you are a damn good lawyer…" She pauses for a moment. "Even if you are a Yalie…" following with a bedroom bat of her eyes out of pure habit with this man.

Veronica looks up at Travis with her mind racing... Don't do it… Don't do it… damn, he did it… the smile… this is harder than she thought. Being around Travis is like a drug so she tempers her reaction with a little business. "I am going to come by tomorrow. I need something done that I need done discreetly and away from the eyes of Pearson Darby." This is the business side of the night which she is now hoping to keep short and get back to the personal side.

Travis is touched that Veronica would trust him with something personal, again, after what he had done but he is more than willing to take a shot at redemption. They chat for a long while about a thousand different subject before Travis suggests dinner. He would like to spend as much time with Veronica as is possible to cram into this night. He had forgotten how much he missed her company.

"Come on Veronica… it is just dinner." He pauses to allow her to answer. "For old times' sake." Travis whips out the charm and smile that work every blessed time. Veronica smiles at the thought. She remembers that is how it all started so long ago but what the hell she is hungry.

"Ok but somewhere quiet… like not Nobu." Travis winks at her. She just made his day. He pays the check and offers his arm to Veronica for a proper exit.

The pair head out and end up at a small bistro. Over dinner they chat about old times and long ago adventures. Unbeknownst to Veronica, Harvey happens to be dining at the same restaurant. He notices Veronica across the room with of all people, Travis Tanner. At the moment, he is sure why this pisses him off… but it does to no end.

The next morning, Mike walks into Harvey's office. Harvey has been waiting for him for a quite a while. Upon crossing the threshold of his office, Harvey lays out the question that his been occupying his mind on a loop. "What connection would Veronica Tate have with Travis Tanner?" Mike gives him a confused look as the question is blurted out. "I have no idea, Harvey."

Louis is talking to Donna at her desk and happened to have caught the tail end of the conversation. A conversation with the words Veronica Tate and Travis Tanner gets his full attention. "Harvey, did you just say that Veronica was with Travis Tanner last night?" Louis walks into Harvey's office with an obvious look of concern on his face.

"Come on in, Louis." Harvey's sarcasm is on full display completely unnoticed by Louis as he repeats his question. "She was with him last night?"

"Yes, dinner." Harvey now realizes that Louis knows exactly why Veronica was with Travis Tanner last night. Louis' reaction speaks volumes. "What is the connection, Louis?"

"Harvey, that is like putting Superman with kryptonite." Harvey is now concerned and confused as Donna waltzes in to add her two cents.

"Harvey, seriously don't you ever read the social section?" Donna stands in the middle of the group. "Harvey, Veronica was engaged to Travis Tanner… a long time ago… he cheated on her… it was all over the tabloids at the time."

This information totally blindsides Harvey. He thinks back trying to remember details but hell he was on a date. A date that ended with a rather, irate woman when she noticed that he was not focused on her. "Why the hell was she with Travis last night?" Louis will be making a phone call very shortly to answer that very question.

Across Town:

Veronica is shown into Travis' office. She walks around the space a bit as Travis rounds his desk. "This is nicer than your Boston office." Travis gives her a huge smile as he shows her to a seat. "With a better view." Travis gives Veronica a wink as he takes his seat.

Veronica is definitely all business today. "Here." She hands Travis a retainer check with a lot of zeros on it. Travis looks it over. A check with this many zeros is for something serious. He looks over the check at her. Veronica gets up and heads to the conference table in his office with her attaché case. Travis follows to the table taking the seat next to Veronica The two of them review all of the paperwork that she has brought. Travis is now in a state of shock.

"You sure about this." Veronica can see the genuine concern on Travis' face. She knows she just blew his mind but with matters like this she trusts him completely. Matters of the heart are a completely different issue with business, she trusts Travis completely.

Veronica looks him dead in the eyes. "Yes, Trav… I trust you to do this. I need you to do this." He shuffles some of the papers. This is huge. He cannot believe or rather he would never have guessed that this is what she wanted. He understands it now and he is concerned but Veronica has always been one to go forward fearlessly and is a force when her ire is up. He will do this simply because she asked. The check just makes it legitimate.

As Veronica leaves Travis' office, her phone is ringing off of the hook with text messages. Louis… Louis… Louis… Louis… Harvey… Louis…. Louis… Hmmm, it would seem she is not as invisible as she thought. Apparently she will be swinging by their office. Veronica skims the texts. Apparently, there is a family meeting at the office. Oh just perfect, she rolls her eyes as she heads to her car.

Veronica is the last to arrive. Donna gives her an odd look as she escorts her to the conference room but again… weird around here is pretty much commonplace now.

Veronica walks into the conference room to find that they are going to hear an offer tomorrow. The discussion turns to strategy. During the discussion on strategy, Harvey mentions something that stops Louis dead in his tracks. Louis looks at Harvey with a Did he just say that? look. Oh dear god is the only thought that Louis can muster. Veronica did not overtly react to what Harvey asked of her but Louis knows better and knows Veronica better than that. The meeting concludes remarkably without incident or argument. With this group, that is quite an accomplishment.

After the Tates exit, Louis stops Harvey in his office. "You seriously didn't just ask Veronica to "get her deb" on in that meeting." The way that Louis has phrased that statement amuses Harvey to no end.

"Yes, I can't have her showing up in scrubs or in Converses tomorrow. This is important, Louis. The perception is important. I know she is pissed off but she will just have to deal with it. This is a good offer." Louis' look turns to panic. Harvey notices the change of expression "Will that be a problem for Veronica?." Harvey is now wondering what the hell he said that would put Louis in such a state.

"Seriously Harvey, why didn't you just say "Upon my command, unleash hell."" Harvey gives Louis a comical look. "Seriously?"

"Harvey, if you have not noticed… Veronica is like the debutante anti-Christ? You have no idea what you have done. Trust me… no idea." Louis turns and walks out of the room waving his hands in the air.

The next day arrives with Mike entering Harvey's office with a bounce. "So who's Rolla is outside?" Harvey looks up from his desk. "Rolla?"

"Ah you missed the Rolls Royce parked outside." Harvey looks passed Mike at Donna. He grabs his jacket and prepares for the arrivals. Mike heads out to escort everyone into the conference room. As Harvey enters the hallway, he sees it. "The entrance." Veronica might have well come with her own theme music. She is dressed like the redheaded stepchild of Holly Golightly and Grace Kelly. She has on big sunglasses, a tea skirt with a crinoline, a hat… gloves… and an entourage in tow.

Louis walks up next to him as he watches her well timed arrival. "Told you." Ironically, Harvey admits that he may have misjudged his word choice yesterday. As Veronica enters the room, she greets everyone with elegant handshakes and the Frenchmen with a kiss to each cheek. Her glasses are instantly taken from her hand along with her gloves and her bag one of the gentlemen in tow who stand at the ready for every whim behind. The chair is pulled out as Veronica elegantly sits down underskirt be damned. The meeting takes place without incident from either side. Veronica the debutante is rather charming with the folks from Cadwell much to Harvey's surprise. Harvey swears that Louis did not take a single breath until the meeting was over in anticipation of some antic from Veronica.

Harvey heads to his office as Veronica speaks with her father and Edward for a few moments before their departure. In a short while, Veronica appears at Harvey's door leaving her entourage waiting in the hallway. Veronica saunters up to Harvey's desk as he watches on amused by what is undoubtedly to follow. Veronica leans on the desk next to where Harvey is seated. "Is this deb enough for you, Mr Specter?" She grazes his chin with a gloved hand and a bat of her false lashes.

Harvey looks up with a smirk. "Just fabulous Mitzy… you have made your point." He is rather enjoying this little game. Veronica coyly runs her gloved hand down Harvey's desk phone. "Excellent, Biff…looks like I am all deb'd up with nowhere to go." Veronica hits the intercom button on Harvey's phone. "Will you be needing Ms Paulsen for the rest of the day?" The statement and the lilt in Veronica's voice grabs Harvey's attention. "The Bs are waiting and I need a properly trained wing man." Veronica has made sure that every word was heard loud and clear by Donna.

Donna is instantly in the doorway with her purse and the "can I go" look. Harvey knows that he has been a complete set up. "Have fun." Harvey smiles at Veronica. Veronica gives him a smile as she turns. "TTFN, Darling." Veronica blows Harvey a kiss as she takes Donna by the arm as they sashay out of the office much to Louis' amusement as he walks into Harvey's office.

Harvey looks up at Louis for the answer to this question. "What in the hell are the Bs?"
Louis laughs that Harvey has never heard this phrase. "Barneys, Bendel and Bergdorf, Harvey."
