A/N Alright so this is a longer chapter as well since I took a while to update. Also this chapter jumps around with the point of view, but I made sure to tell who's point of view we are in. The bit in italics is a dream in Beca's point of view. So read and enjoy! :)

[Kayla's P.O.V.]

I woke up in a brightly lit room that stank of disinfectant and burnt flesh. I tried to move my body, to determine how injured I was, when I realized I was chained to a stone table. Still slightly disoriented, I struggled against my restraints and even tried to use my powers against them, but nothing worked. I stopped struggling and tried to figure out where I was. It was a small room with one machine in the corner. My throat swelled up. I knew this place, hell I had practically grown up in this room here. That's why I wasn't surprised when the darks most talented 'electrician' walked in followed by two earth elementals and the head dude himself, the Master.

"Well young Kayla. You were quite a handful to bring in now weren't you." I chose silence as my weapon. I knew the Master hated it when people didn't react like he wanted them to, and he wouldn't expect silence from me. "Ah you won't talk to me? No snarky comeback? Oh well." He smirked and crossed his arms. "You already know what goes on in this room so I guess I don't have to try and scare you with that. And before you say anything, I know electrocution won't work on you as well as other people but it will still hurt if we make it strong enough." His smirk grew into a devilish grin. "So go ahead, ask the typical question." He cupped his hand over his ear and leaned towards me. I sighed.

"What do you want with me?" I said in the most bored tone I could muster. He barked a laugh then leaned down until he was right next to my ear.

"I want you to scream for me."

[Beca's POV]

"I... Uh... It's not really my place to tell you Becs." Will stuttered out.

"Well Kayla isn't here and I need to know. I deserve to know." Will sighed.

"You make it sound like you already know, you just want me to confirm it." I nodded slowly.

"The people who took Kayla said some things.." That's when realization hit. "Shit!" Three sets of eyes turned and stared at me. I jumped up and started looking for my jacket. Will grabbed my arm and turned me around.

"Beca what is it?" He looked at me worriedly.

"I need to speak with my mother." I took a deep breath. "Will, Chris is working for the Dark. He's the one who came and took Kayla." Will's eyes widened.

"Kayla was right. Fuck! I should have believed her." He put his head in his hands. "She never really trusted him after she…" He met my eyes. "You know what nevermind. I'll go tell your mother. It's getting really late. You need to get some rest." He walked over to the nearest wall and placed his hand there. He closed his eyes and soon removed his hand. He left a glowing handprint and eventually it spread out to cover the entire room, and I'm assuming the whole house. "There. You three will be safe here." He walked over and hugged me. "I'll be back in a couple hours." He pulled back and met my eyes. "Please try to get some sleep." I nodded slowly. He held my arms for a bit longer then nodded himself and walked away.

[Kayla's P.O.V.]

I clenched my fists and teeth to keep from crying out. The 'shock treatments' were getting stronger and stronger, and I knew I wouldn't be conscious for much longer. I wouldn't give the Master what he wanted, I refused. The electricity running through my body stopped, and I exhaled heavily. I pushed back the black that was slowly creeping into my vision. The Master slammed his fists next to my head. He moved around the table and got right in my face, his eyes flashing.

"I will break you Kayla. It's only a matter of time before you are back where you belong."

[Beca's P.O.V.]

The room was blindingly white. I could just barely make out two figures, one standing next to some machine and the other pacing around the table I was on. My vision had black around the edges. I tried to clear my vision, but was stopped when pain shot through my body. I could smell burning flesh, and then my vision went dark.

I woke with a start, a burning feeling on my knee, in the spare bedroom. None of us even thought about going into Kayla's room. Chloe wanted to make sure all of us got some sleep, so she convinced us to share the one bed, with her in the middle. I looked at the time and saw it was in the early hours of the morning. I could feel Chloe's even breath on my neck. Soon, I realized I wasn't going to get anymore sleep, so I carefully removed myself from Chloe's grip and made my way to the bathroom. I splashed some water in my face, then decided to investigate the pain on my knee. What I saw there was an angry red welt slowly forming on my knee cap. I stared at it for a few minutes trying to discern where it had come from and how I got it. I was met with the smell of coffee and I found Aubrey sitting at the table nursing a cup. I moved to the coffee maker and poured myself a cup. I sat down across from Aubrey and quickly saw the red around her eyes.

"Did you get any sleep?" I asked carefully. She nodded and I took a drink. I wasn't very good at helping people, and Aubrey and I didn't really get along anyway, so she probably didn't really want my help. But I could almost hear Kayla in my head, yelling at me for not helping her girlfriend when she wasn't here. I paused for a moment, trying to think of what to say. I started with the first thing that popped into my head. "She couldn't ride a bike." Aubrey looked up, confused.

"What?"

"When I was younger, I saw all the human kids riding their bikes. At the time, I wanted nothing more than to do it too, so I could be more like them. I was about 7 or 8." I took a deep breath and continued, not sure where this urge to share came from. "I asked my mom, one of the times she was around, and she immediately shot me down, saying I didn't need to be more like the humans and I had no use for the knowledge. So naturally I burst into tears and ran to my room." I paused, not sure I could continue, but pushed on. "Kayla came up to my room wearing this little helmet and knee pads and everything." I smiled at the memory. "She held up this bag full of protective gear and told me to come outside when I was dressed. When I got out there, she was standing beside two bikes, one a miniature version of the other. She said, 'Now Becs, I don't know how to ride one of these contraptions either, but what do you say we learn together?'' I took a sip of my coffee. "We spent that entire day falling over, but by the end we were both pros, despite the cuts and bruises." I smiled again and looked up at Aubrey. I saw tears forming in her eyes, but she was also smiling. "Kayla taught me everything I know. She's been there for me since I was born. I know she isn't going to let a few Dark agents stop her from coming back to…. us." I reached across and squeezed her hand.

"Thanks for sharing Beca. Kayla would never have told me that unless I begged her." We laughed softly.

"Yeah, she likes to seem the strong, silent type, but really she's a giant teddy bear." We both sat in comfortable silence, sipping our coffee. Maybe Aubrey and I didn't get along normally, but right now we both had a common goal that was bringing us together. I felt Will return, then heard him stumble into the coffee table in the living room and his muttered 'shit'.

Aubrey and I glanced at one another then moved towards the noise. Aubrey reached for the light switch, and we saw Will standing there clutching his shin and holding a lamp in his other hand. He saw us and grinned.

"I didn't mean to wake you." He carefully placed the lamp back on the table.

"We were already up." Aubrey stated. Will sighed and sat down.

"I suppose it was too much to ask that you guys get some sleep huh?" I chose not to answer that, and crossed my arms.

"So what happened?"

"Well I got there in time, and Chris has been taken into custody." Will relaxed into the couch. "With luck, we will find out where Kayla is by tonight." I grimaced. I could only guess what they would do to him. Then I remembered what he did to Kayla, and I stopped caring. There was only one thing for me to do.

"Will, I want to be there when they rescue her. I want to come with." Will met my eyes. I could see the indecision there.

"Kayla would kill me if you got hurt." I opened my mouth to argue, but he stopped me. "I know how talented you are, and how well Kayla trained you, but we don't know how dangerous this is. You know very well how strong Kayla is and exactly how many men it would take to hold her… Well no one can know for sure how many there is." I looked at my feet and heard him sigh. "I know how badly you want to save your sister, but I can't put you in that kind of danger, especially because your skills have never been battle tested. Kayla made sure of that." When I refused to meet his eyes, I heard him sigh again. "Bec, I'm not even sure if I'll be in the rescuing party." That got my attention. My head snapped up.

"But you are the second strongest fighter in the light, behind my sister. You have to go!" I clenched my fists. Will was right about how many people they would have to face. They needed the best to go in there. Will smiled grimly.

"Thanks Bec, but you know your mother will keep me here, protecting you." I clenched and unclenched my fists. I knew he was right. I was always a bigger priority to my mother when compared to Kayla.

"But Kayla is her daughter too. Don't you think she will want the best chance to get her back?" Two sets of eyes met Aubrey's angry face. In the dead silence, only the sound of a door opening could be heard.

"What's going on?" I turned and saw Chloe standing there, her blue eyes still shining with sleep and her hair messy. "I woke up and no one was there. I thought someone had taken you two also." She looked especially worried with her arms crossed in front of her body. I sighed internally. I didn't even think of what Chloe would think waking up alone. I'm a terrible girlfriend.

"I'm sorry, Chlo. I just couldn't sleep, and I didn't want to wake you. Then aubrey and I were talking, and Will showed up." I walked over to her and grabbed her hand. I smiled at her apologetically. She squeezed my hand in return.

"So what's got everyone so worked up?" She looked pointedly at Aubrey. Will and I looked at each other and kept quiet.

"Well, these two agree that the Queen won't send Will, her second strongest fighter, to save Kayla. Which they were going to explain to me why." She crossed her arms and stood defiantly.

"Wait, you found Kayla?" Chloe looked at me, and I could see how much she missed Kayla.

"Not exactly." Will said. "We've captured Chris, and we have ways to get information out of him." I saw Chloe was about to ask for elaboration and quickly gave her a look that stopped her. "As for the Queen and Kayla, let's just say they don't really get along." Will continued.

"You're telling me that she would just leave her daughter to die there, because they don't get along?!" I led Chloe to the love seat and sat down, keeping my eyes down. I guessed Will was doing the same thing, because I could feel Aubrey getting more frustrated. I sighed.

"It's not like everyone else is incapable." Will broke the silence, carefully. She turned on him.

"Yes, but you don't keep your strongest voice out of Nationals." Will looked at her blankly. She threw up her arms in frustration. I stepped in.

"Look Aubrey, I'm not happy about it either, but I know how my mother works. Kayla's never been her first priority. Hell it'd be lucky if she even made her priority list. That's how it's always been between them, as long as I can remember." I just shrugged. I knew how capable everyone else was, and I know that my mother would try her hardest to save Kayla, if for no other reason than she was a strong fighter. Aubrey huffed and rolled her eyes. She turned on her heel and marched into the kitchen. The sounds of glasses clinking together and the sink starting up. Will shook his head and yawned.

"I'm gonna go get some sleep. Try not to do anything to crazy while I'm out." He winked at Chloe and I and went into the spare bedroom. I rolled my eyes, then squeezed the bridge of my nose and let out a sigh. I leaned into the couch and Chloe grabbed my hand.

"She's gonna come back Bec. Everything is going to go back to how it was." She smiled at me reassuringly. I tried to smile back, but felt a sharp pain in my knee, and tried to hide a grimace. Although I can't hide anything from Chloe, who immediately noticed something was wrong. "Hey, I'm serious. She will be alright. I get that you know more about the Dark and everything, but we need to keep hope. We have to believe that she is strong enough to fight through this and come back to all of us." She reached down and squeezed my knee. I clenched my fists and teeth. Chloe got a worried expression on her face. "Becs, what's wrong?" I met Chloe's eyes.

"Nothing, it's nothing." I sat forward and put my hands on my legs. I could feel Chloe looking at me. She gently grabbed my chin and made me face her.

"Beca, what's going on?" I tried to look away but Chloe didn't let me. I reached down to my pant leg and slowly pulled it up. When I got past my knee, I heard Chloe gasp. "What happened?" I looked at the welt, then up at Chloe.
