Ok, so she had gotten lost...a few times actually. That didn't matter, Jane had eventually made it outside. She wandered around the courtyard, following the sound of metal on metal along with grunts and groans. Eventually she spotted the back of Merlin's head and proceeded to sneak up behind him as quietly as she could. Merlin seemed quite focused on the sparring match that was going on so it wasn't that difficult to get right next to his ear.

"BOO!" Merlin jumped in shock and immediately proceeded to trip over his own feet until he crashed to the ground while Jane stood over him clutching her stomach in laughter. "That's not funny!" Merlin protested though there was a small grin on his face. "You should have seen your face!" Jane cried in between bursts of laughter. Merlin grumbled good-heartedly under his breath while Jane wiped tears of joy from her eyes before helping him back to his feet. She feigned dusting dirt off his shirt, still smiling broadly, "Man, I thought you'd have sort of spidey-sense or something, with your magic and all." She said the last part quietly, so that only she and Merlin could hear. His smile faded a little as he looked down on her, she was a few inches shorter. "I've been meaning to ask you about that, how-"

"Merlin!" He was interrupted as Arthur finally seemed to notice that Merlin was focussed on the match anymore. "What are you doing?"

Merlin fumbled for words before Jane jumped in, "I'm afraid I gave Merlin a scare by sneaking up behind him. I'm sure it's only his pride that's bruised," she gave him a once over, " Maybe his rear too." The knights proceeded to laugh while Merlin just grumbled about stupid girls being too quiet.

"It isn't that hard to scare Merlin," Arthur laughed, "He seems to find danger everywhere he goes." The knights continued to laugh before continuing their exercises while Jane gave Merlin a knowing look. Quietly she whispered to him, "I'll talk to you later, then you can ask all the questions you want." Merlin nodded and they stood in comfortable silence watching the knights practice. She didn't break the silence until she noticed one of the knights using a bow and arrow. Percival, she thought his name was. She remembered some of the stories about him, 'the gentle giant'. She leaned over and whispered to Merlin, "His footing is wrong." He gave her a look and she nodded in the direction the knight was before ambling over.

"You're too grounded," She commented as Percival let loose another arrow. He turned to her in a questioning way and she walked a bit closer. "I guess it's because you're used to sword fighting, being grounded and all that stuff, but you're too stiff." She pulled him up from his comically low stance until he was standing up straight, quite literally towering over her. She noticed a spare bow lying in the corner a picked it up, before stealing a few arrows from Percival. She took her stance, tall and strong but relaxed and breathed deeply before letting the arrow fly. It hit dead center and she silently cheered inside before turning to Percival and watching him fix his position and try again. He gave a small smile when the arrow mirrored hers and hit center. "Good Job, Percy," she beemed.

"Where did you learn to use a bow and arrow, Lady Jane?" She turned around to notice Arthur and the knights had congregated around the archery area and were all staring at her. "Girl Scouts," Jane said with a smile. "It was honestly the best part of camp. I swear I got like five golden arrows."

"And how did you earn these arrows of gold?" asked one of the knights, Leon she remembered, she has got to get better at putting names to faces. "Oh you had to get an arrow in the middle of the target. It was fun because the other kids sucked so I always ended up schooling them." The knights nodded, understanding a bit of what she said. "And did you learn anything else in this scouting group of yours?" Arthur asked.

"Well they didn't teach me sword fighting if that's what you're wondering. Stupid safety rules. I swear we had to fight for archery, they just wanted us to learn stupid girly things like sewing and how to make friendship bracelets, not that I have anything against that. They taught us some pretty cool survival stuff so if you ever want a perfect log cabin fire, I'm your girl." Upon saying this Jane realized that she didn't have any matches or a lighter so she probably wasn't the best option for that.

"I'm surprised that you learnt so many skills," Arthur said. Jane turned indignant, "Hey buddy, girls are just as good as boys, if not better." Once she said this she realized that she had just shouted at the king of Camelot and started stuttering," err...uh… I mean," "I take no offense, Lady Jane," Arthur said smiling at her, "The strength of women has been taught to me many times." Jane smiled and then paused to wonder if she should curtsy before she left. She gave an awkward sort of bow/curtsy before running back into the castle. Gwen had said that they would start preparing her for the party and she figured she'd need a lot of help. Maybe she could just figure out a way to stay locked in her room. Of course she knew that Gwen would have none of it.

Hey, Another chapter done! Thought I'd get some fun Jane, Knights bonding stuff in there. Let me know what you guys think!
