Nico
Watching Skylar run out of her cabin clutching Blake's arm, Nico groaned. An excited child of Hermes could never result in anything good.
He turned away from the window and looked around his cabin. Weapons shoved in a cabinet, clothes shoved in a closet, wrappers shoved under his bed. Looks like he'd do well in cabin inspections.
A sudden knock on the door made him jump. Shaking his head, he went to open it.
Thalia was standing outside picking at her chipping black nail polish. She looked up and her electric blue eyes met Nico's deathly black ones. She cracked a smile. "Hey, Death Breath. Mind if I come in?" she asked teasingly.
"Of course not, Pinecone Face," he replied, in the same tone.
She walked inside and crashed on the couch, putting her feet up.
"Make yourself at home," he muttered sarcastically.
She looked in his direction. He knew she'd heard him, but she apparently chose to ignore it. "I ran into Annie on the way here. Looks like we're on opposite teams for Capture the Flag," she said, grinning.
"Well, in that case, let me apologize in advance for having to cream you later," he said nonchalantly.
She raised her eyebrows. "Oh, is that what you think is going to happen?"
"Yeah, pretty much," he nodded.
Thalia rolled her eyes. "Care to make a bet?"
"Bring it on Grace," Nico replied.
Her eyes narrowed. Maybe he shouldn't have used her last name. Now there was absolutely no chance of her going easy on him.
She stormed over to his bookshelf, yes, he had a bookshelf, and got the largest book there, their bet book. She came back to him, and dropped the book in his hands. "You first," she said, gritting her teeth.
It was really heavy, but he managed to flip through the pages. He found the perfect one within seconds.
He handed in to her and she looked through it before setting it on the couch.
"Okay, number 828," she said smugly. Nico gulped, but nodded. If he lost, he would have to jump off a cliff into the ocean. Heights and water, Zeus and Poseidon were going to kill him.
"You get 117," he said shakily, still nervous about possibly dying soon.
Her eyes widened. "Oh gods… Makeover, Aphrodite cabin, the entire day…?"
Nico nodded.
Her eyes hardened. "Fine. It's a bet."
He held out his hand to shake on it. She gave it a glance and walked away.
He rolled his eyes. Typical Thals.

Thalia
Thalia was going to beat Nico if it was the last thing she ever did.
First she had to know exactly who was on her team. Annabeth had told her she wasn't on Nico's team, but not who else was on hers.
Luckily Annabeth and Percy were sitting on one of the benches surrounding the cabins. She went and sat in between them, ruining their "moment."
"Thanks Thalia. What do you need?" Percy said, somewhat masking his annoyance.
"I need to know who's on my team for Capture the Flag… now."
The look in her eyes gave the reason behind her demand away to Annabeth and she told her.
"Thanks!" she said, running towards the forest. Without even realizing it, she ended up at the tree.
After the Giant War, Nico had decided that he was going to help Thalia overcome her fear of heights. Apparently, the best way to do that was to actually go to a high place and try from there. He'd shadow traveled her to the top of the tree she was standing by right now and then shadow traveled back to the bottom. She was supposed to climb down by herself and show herself there was nothing to be afraid of. But instead, she fell on her first try. Nico caught her at the bottom, of course, but they still both agreed to never try that again.
Now she was back at the tree.
She sat down and leaned on the trunk. Trying to shake the memories about Nico out of her head, she thought about Capture the Flag.
Her team was Ares, Demeter, Hermes, Dionysus, Iris, Hecate, Nemesis, and Hypnos. She could work with that.
She jumped up and walked back to camp. The first people she saw were Lou Ellen and Connor. "Hey!" she said, running up to them.
"Hey, Thalia, what's up?" Lou Ellen asked.
"I need a favor. Could you go get as many people as possible from the Ares, Demeter, Hermes, Dionysus, Iris, Hecate, Nemesis, and Hypnos cabins and meet me in mine?"
They nodded, and left.
20 minutes later, they were all in the Zeus cabin. Everyone sat on the couches in the living room area, and Thalia stood in front of them. "Ok, so I've called you all here for a very important reason: Capture the Flag."
Clarisse rolled her eyes, but nodded. "I really don't care about what bet you and di Angelo made this time, but we better win. Ares has lost to Athena three times in a row now, and we're not going to give them a fourth."
"What, how…? Nevermind." How did she know about the bet? "But we need an impeccable battle strategy if we're going to win. The blue team has two of the Big Three cabins, and Athena. They're not going to go down without a fight. You can guarantee that their plan is going to be perfect," Thalia said.
Katie smirked. "So we're just going to need a better one."
