Things will happen in your life that you can't stop. But that's no reason to shut out the world.

Crazy Pete- Now and Then

When Paul and Ava returned home they changed into different clothes before leaving to go to the movies.

"So did you look to see what was playing?" Paul asked.

"No," she sighed. "Lets just see what's starting when we get there."

"And what if it's a scary movie?" Paul asked.

"We'll see when we get there," she told him. "You ready?"

"Waiting on you," he told her.

"Well lets go," she told him.

When they got to the movie theater they looked over what was playing. The only thing starting within the next few minutes was some horror movie.

"We can either wait an hour for something else to start or do something else," Paul told her. "I know you don't want to watch the scary movie."

"You want to watch it though don't you?" she asked him.

"It doesn't matter Ava."

"That means yes," she sighed. "Lets just go see it."

"Ava I….you're sure?"

"Not really," she admitted. "But we always seem to do what I want when we do something together," she added.

"Ok Ava if you're sure."

"Lets get the tickets before I change my mind." She told him.

Paul and Ava went inside after buying the tickets and found seats and got ready to watch the movie. Paul glanced over at her.

"I'll be ok Paul, its just a movie right."

"Right and besides you have me beside you to protect you," he told her and she smiled.

"That makes me feel better," she said as the lights dimmed and the previews started to play.

Paul sat watching the movie, Ava seemed to be doing ok with it so far, she hadn't hid her face or screamed or anything, but just as he thought that he felt her grab his hand. A few minutes later he felt her head hit his arm and he glanced down and chuckled when he saw her hiding her face in his arm.

"Shut up Paul," she said as she peeked up at the screen but hid her face again. Paul shook his head and wrapped his arm around her.

When the movie was over Paul looked down at her.

"The movie's over Ava," he said and she looked up at him.

"Sorry," she whispered.

"Its ok," he said standing up. "Lets go," he told her and she stood up and led her out of the movie theater.

"Sorry about hiding my face in your arm for the entire movie," Ava told him as they walked to her car.

"I didn't mind," he told her as they stopped at her car and he opened the door for her. She got in and he closed the door behind her and walked around and slid behind the wheel. "You want to get something to eat or some ice cream or something?"

"It doesn't matter," she told him. "We can go by the store and pick up some things, maybe make ice cream sundaes."

"Sounds good to me," Paul said and started the car and drove away towards the grocery store.

After buying everything they needed to make ice cream sundae's Paul and Ava went home and unpacked everything. Setting the items on the counter. Paul grabbed two bowls, some spoons and an ice cream scoop.

"Shall we get started?"

"Definitely," she said and opened the ice cream, putting a couple of scoops in her bowl before passing it to Paul.

Ava fixed her sundae putting sprinkles, m&m's, caramel and whipped cream on it. Paul fixed his as well putting the same things on it except he added hot fudge on it as well as the caramel. Then the two of them sat down at the table.

"So I know you didn't really enjoy the movie tonight," Paul began.

"Its ok Paul because I actually like hanging out with you," she told him and he smiled.

"I like hanging out with you to Ava," Paul told her.

"So I hear tomorrow is supposed to be a nice day, kind of warm," she began.

"Uh huh," Paul smiled.

"Are you busy? Do you have patrol or anything?"

"No," he said.

"Cliff diving?" she asked and Paul smiled.

"Definitely Ava."

"Great!" she said happily and Paul stood up and took his empty bowl to the sink and Ava stood a few seconds later and took her bowl to the sink.

"You tired?" he asked.

"Not really," she answered.

"We can watch a movie or something if you want," he said.

"Ok sounds good," she said and followed him into the living room . The two of them sat on the couch together and Paul turned on the TV.

"Do you just want to see what's on TV?" he asked.

"That's ok with me," she told him and Paul started flipping through the channels. Paul finally settled on a movie and sat the remote on the table. Ava moved closer to him.

"We should do something like this again," she told him.

"Well we're cliff diving tomorrow," he said. "And if you want to do something together all you have to do is say so."

"Really?" she asked.

"Yes Aviana," he said and she smiled.

"Good," she said.

The next day after having breakfast Paul and Ava made their way to the cliffs. Ava looked over the side after climbing up.

"You need to hold onto me again?" he asked.

"Possibly," she said as he walked over to her. He took a second to look at what she was wearing. A pair of shorts that were really short and a top that fit her body perfectly, showing every curve. She was definitely the most beautiful girl that he had ever seen.

"Alright," Paul said. "Lets get ready." He told her and Ava walked over and held onto Paul like she did the last time. "You ready?"

"Ready," she told him and Paul jumped and a few seconds later they hit the water and resurfaced. Ava wiped her face.

"You ever going to jump by yourself?" he asked.

"No I like jumping with you," she told him and turned around and swam away. Paul caught up with her and they both walked out of the water at the same time.

"So you like jumping with me," he smirked.

"Stop smirking," she said and elbowed him in the stomach. "Yes I like cliff diving with you, I like riding your motorcycle," she added. "I don't know why I like ding those things with you but I do," she told him. "Paul why haven't you went out since I moved in?" she asked. "You did one time but haven't since then."

"Maybe I don't want to," he told her. "What about you? Are you planning on going on any more dates?"

"I don't know Paul, the last two were horrible."

"I know but that doesn't mean the next one will be," he told her.

"Well I really don't think any guy will live up to when you took me out," she told him.

"You think so?"

"I know so," she told him.

"Come on lets get back home and change clothes," Paul told her.

After changing clothes Paul and Ava ended up at Sam's. Paul was outside talking to Embry.

"So where have you and Ava been?"

"She asked if we could cliff dive this morning," Paul told him.

"So you went cliff diving together," Embry said. "She jump by herself this time?"

"No she said she likes jumping with me," Paul told him.

"Paul why don't you just talk to Ava, tell her how you feel?"

"Embry what if I tell her how I feel and she feels the same way, which will be all I ever wanted," he told him. "Then I imprint."

"Have you really looked at Ava?" Embry asked. "I mean you were so busy being mean to her when she was with Jake and now…"

"No Embry I haven't."

"Maybe you should," Embry suggested and Paul shook his head.

Ava was inside helping Emily in the kitchen.

"So living with Paul still going ok?" Emily asked her.

"Its going really good," Ava told her. "Paul's turned out to be a really great roommate and an even better friend."

"That's great!" Emily said happily.

"Paul hasn't really seen any other girls since I moved in with him," she told her.

"Its possible he likes you," Emily told her.

"I doubt that Emily," she said as she finished up what she was doing. "I'm all done," she told her. "You need anything else done?"

"No Ava, everything just needs to finish cooking," Emily told her.

"Ok I'm going to go outside for a few minutes," she told her.

Ava walked outside on the porch and saw Embry and Paul were talking in the yard. She sat down on the porch and let out a sigh. She looked up and saw Jacob and Darci walk in the yard. She saw Jacob stop and talk to Embry, but totally ignore Paul, Darci however did turn and say something to Paul.

Jacob and Darci walked in Sam's yard and he saw Embry and Paul talking and stopped.

"Hey Embry," Jacob said totally ignoring Paul.

"Jake," Embry replied and Darci shook her head and tuned to Paul and smiled.

"Hey Paul," she said.

"Darci," he said politely.

"Is Ava here?" she asked.

"Yeah she should be inside with Emily," Paul told her.

"Ok, have you given any thought to what I said before."

"There's nothing to think about Darci," he sighed.

"Ok if you say so," she said. "I'm going inside," she told Jacob and walked away. When she got closer to the house she saw Ava sitting on the porch.

"Hey," Darci said.

"Hey," Ava replied and Darci sat next to her on the porch.

"So you and Paul?"

"We're friends Darci," she told her.

"And that's the way you want it?"

"It doesn't matter what I want Darci, there's still a chance Paul could imprint."

"And there's also a chance he will never imprint."

"That's true." She agreed.

Jacob looked over at Paul.

"So what could my imprint possibly have to talk to you about?" Jacob asked him.

"Let it go Jake, it wasn't about you," Paul told him and he saw Jacob glance to the porch where Darci and Ava were talking.

"Whatever Paul," Jacob said and walked away.

"If you want to be with Paul I think you should go for it," Darci told her.

"I doubt that will happen," she told her as Jacob stopped in front of them. Darci and Ava looked up at him.

"You two having a nice chat?" Jacob asked.

"We were," Ava answered him.

"Ava how much longer are you going to be mad at me?" Jacob asked.

"I don't know Jake," she answered and stood up.

"I don't get how you can be friends with Darci and not talk to me."

"Well Darci didn't lie to me and break my heart Jake," she told him and walked away towards Paul and Embry. Jacob watched her as she stopped by Paul and he shook his head and turned back to Darci.

"She'll come around Jake," Darci told him.

"I hope so," he sighed.

"Hey Embry," Ava smiled.

"Hey."

"So where's Leah?" she asked.

"She had to work today," he told her.

"Oh, well that sucks." She said and Embry smiled.

"So what have you been doing?" Paul asked her.

"I was helping Emily in the kitchen and then I was talking to Darci," she told him.

"Oh," Paul said. "I still don't get you two." He said.

"You don't have to," she told him.

The week seemed to go by quickly, it was already Wednesday and so far this day had been horrible for her. She was late for work because she forgot she needed gas in her car, when she did get to work she got yelled at for being late, then her computer crashed before she saved her work causing her to have to start over. She was so glad this day was over. She was getting ready to leave when a guy approached her.

"Hey Ava," he smiled. Ava looked up. He was cute, brown hair, brown eyes, tall. He was exactly what comes to mind when you say tall, dark and handsome.

"Hey Zack," she replied.

"So you busy Friday?" he asked.

"I don't think so," she answered.

"So will you go out with me?" he asked.

"Yes," she answered.

"great I'll pick you up at seven."

"Sounds good," she said and gave him directions before leaving. As she was walking to her car the heel on her shoe broke and she fell twisting her ankle

"Damn it!" she cursed and stood up and limped to her car and drove home.

When she got home she went straight to her room and changed clothes putting on a pair of pants and Paul's t-shirt and then went to lay down on the couch.

Paul was on his way home when he decided to pick up something for dinner for him and Ava.

When he got home he walked in and saw Ava lying on the couch, she was wearing her pajama pants and his t-shirt. He smiled when he saw her in his t-shirt. Ava sat up when the door shut.

"Hey Paul," she said.

"Hey, everything ok?" he asked.

"Just a bad day." She told him. "I haven't even started dinner yet so…"

"Don't worry about it, I picked up something," he said as he held up the bags in his hands.

"Good because I don't really feel like cooking," she said.

"I'm going to set everything down in the kitchen and then I'll be back," he said and walked past her and returned a few seconds later. Ava felt Paul lift her legs as he sat down and then place them in his lap.

"So what happened?" he asked.

"Well I was late this morning and I got yelled at for being late," she began. "My computer crashed before I saved my work so I had to start all over and I broke the heel on my shoe as I was leaving and twisted my ankle.

"Which ankle?"

"Left one," she answered and she felt Paul's hands touch her ankle as he started to massage it. He felt her trying to jerk it away. "Its hurts," she told him.

"But in all the bad stuff that happened, I got asked out on a date for Friday," she told him.

"Oh you have a date this weekend."

"Yeah, he's going to pick me up here."

"Well I hope it goes ok."

"Yeah me to," she agreed. "Now," she added as she swung her legs off Paul's lap, lets go eat."

Friday arrived and Ava was getting ready for her date with Zack. She had on a pair of jeans and a gray shirt. She walked into the living room and saw Paul was sitting on the couch.

"Hey," she said.

"Thanks for making dinner for me," he said as he looked at her, she was wearing jeans, his eyes traveled up her legs to her top that fit her perfectly, he could see every curve of her body.

"You're welcome," she said. "So do I look ok?"

"You look perfect," he told her and she smiled. "So beautiful I feel like I shouldn't let you out of the house to go on a date with a guy who probably doesn't deserve you."

"Paul…" she began but they were interrupted by a knock on the door.

"Have fun and call me if you need anything," Paul told her.

"I will," she said and walked over and kissed his cheek. "Thanks Paul." she added and he watched her as she answered the door and after talking to the guy she left with him.

"You look beautiful," Zack told her once they were in the car.

"Thank you," she replied.

When the two of them arrived at the restaurant Zack got out of the car not bothering to open the door for her. She walked around to where he was standing.

"Lets get inside," he said and he wrapped his arm around her and she felt his hand slide to her butt and she stepped away from him.

The two of them went inside and were shown to a table. After sitting down and looking over the menu they placed their orders with the waitress, who Zack couldn't keep his eyes off of.. The waitress took their menu's giving Zack a wink and turned to walk away and Zack actually turned to watch her.

"So," Zack said when he turned back around. "You've lived in La Push all your life."

"Yeah I have I know its small but I like it there," she told him.

"Good," he said as the waitress sat their drinks down. Zack looked over at her and smiled.

"Thanks," he said winking at her and the waitress smiled. He was totally flirting with the waitress on their date.

Zack walked Ava to the door after their date.

"Well," Zack said. "Goodnight," he added and leaned down to kiss her.

"No!" she told him. "Are you seriously trying to kiss me? You flirted with our waitress the entire time."

"So," he said and kissed her lips as he pushed her into the door. "You could invite me in," he suggested.

"Not going to happen," she said as she tried to push him away.

"Seriously Ava, we're adults."

"I'm not sleeping with you," she told him.

"I should have listened to Matt and Bryan when they said not to ask you out," he told her.

"Maybe you should have," she said. I'm going inside, you should go home or go find that waitress she might sleep with you." She added and walked inside slamming the door.

Paul looked up when he heard the door slam.

"Aviana," he said.

"I'm never dating again," she said as she walked over to the couch. She threw her purse down and kicked her shoes off.

"What happened?"

"Well he didn't open a single door for me which isn't a big deal but he flirted with our waitress the entire time." She told him.

"He shouldn't have even looked at another girl if he had you with him," Paul told her and she smiled.

"So maybe I'm done with dating. Maybe I'll just find someone to sleep with."

"That's not what you really want," he told her.

"Maybe it is," she sighed. "Maybe I just want a friends with benefits relationship with a guy who knows what he's doing and that I can trust."

"That's a pretty specific guy," Paul said.

"Yeah I know," she said. "I've been thinking about it and there isn't anyone I trust more than you right now," she told him. "You're my best friend and…." She added. "What the hell," she mumbled and she leaned up and pressed her lips against his. Paul was shocked at her sudden move but he found himself kissing her back. He ran his fingers through her hair, across her back before grabbing her hips and lifting her into his lap. Paul pulled away a few seconds.

"You sure about this?" he asked.

"Positive," she answered and Paul kissed her again as he stood up. Ava wrapped her legs around his waist as he walked to his bedroom. Paul walked inside his room and kicked the door shut before pressing her against it. Ava unwrapped her legs from around his waist as Paul kissed her neck, running his hands to the hem of her shirt, pulling away long enough to pull it over her head and throw it behind him. He could feel Ava's hands running over his back as his hands went to the button of her jeans, he unbuttoned them and slid the zipped down before pushing them over her hips. Ava stepped out of her jeans and Paul kissed her as they made their way to his bed. Paul picked her up and laid her down on his bed moving over her. He placed his lips against her neck as he reached behind her, he felt her lift up so he could undo her bra and slide it off of her and throw it to the floor. Paul looked down at her, she was so beautiful. He placed kisses down her body stopping at her panties. He slid them off of her and dropped them to the ground. He felt Ava's hands run down his chest and over his abs stopping at his shorts she unbuttoned them and slowly unzipped the zipper and pushed them off of him, Paul kicked them off and Ava let her gaze travel his body. Paul kissed her lips as he let his hands run down her body before parting her legs with his thigh. He slowly began to enter her and she let out a loud gasp, he was definitely bigger than what she was used to.

"You Ok?" Paul asked worried.

"I'm fine Paul, don't stop," she told him and he started to move slowly,he felt Ava's hands on his back as he started to speed up his movements.

"Paul" she moaned.

Ava moved her arms grabbing onto the headboard as he sped up his thrusts. Paul ran his hands up her arms placing his hands over hers and moved them from the headboard lacing their fingers together. He leaned down and kissed her neck, he loved the sound of the moans coming from her mouth. Paul kissed her lips before he collapsed beside her on the bed.

Ava pulled the blankets over her and turned over on her side. She wasn't sure if she should stay or not. She knew Paul never brought girls back to his bedroom but he brought her here. She was hoping he didn't regret what happened because she knew she didn't. She let out a sigh and went to get out of bed but she felt Pauls hand grab her arm.

"You don't have to leave " he told her.

"You sure?" she asked quietly.

"Just stay." he told her and she laid back down beside him.

The next morning when Ava woke up she rolled over and saw Paul was gone. Thinking he just got up to have breakfast she got out of bed and ran to her room grabbing some clothes to take a shower. After her shower she looked for Paul but he wasn't anywhere to be found. She couldn't believe he would just leave after what happened between them last night and the only reason she could think that he would avoid ber would be that he regretted what happened, she hoped that wasn't true. After eating she made her way to Sam's thinking that is where he was most likely.

When she got to Sam's she didn't see him anywhere outside so she went inside and saw Emily in the kitchen with Leah,

"Hey," Leah said and Emily turned around and saw her.

"Ava," Emily smiled.

"Have you seen Paul?"

"No," Leah answered. "What's wrong?"

"I think he's avoiding me," she told then as she sat at the kitchen table with Leah.

"Why would he be avoiding you?" Emily asked

"Well because something happened between me and Paul." she told them.

"What happened that would make Paul avoid you?" Emily asked.

"Well," she said unaware Embry and Quil had walked in. "Paul and I slept together last night."

"WHAT!" Emily and Leah said at the same time as Embry and Quil ran into the room.

"You and Paul slept together!" Quil exclaimed.

"Oh god," Ava said embarrassed as she covered her face.

"That means he finally told you," Embry said happily.

"Told me what?" she asked.

"About his feelings for you," Quil added.

"What are you talking about?" Ava asked confused.

"Nothing," Embry said quickly and started walking away with Quil.

"Embry Call! Quil Atera! FREEZE!" she yelled and they both stopped. Ava got up and walked over to them.

"What do you mean his feelings for me?" she asked and neither one of them said anything. "Tell me!" she exclaimed.

"Its just that Paul is kind of in love with you," Embry told her.

"What! That's ridiculous," she said.

"Its true," Quil told her. "Paul has always liked you." he added and she turned to look at Leah.

"Leah?"

"Its true Ava, he feels the same way about you that you do about him," Leah told her. "He's liked you since before Jake asked you out."

"Why didn't he say something?" she asked.

"Well you were going out with Jake and he didn't think you would choose him"

"Seriously?" she asked.

"Yeah he didn't think he was good enough for you," Embry told her.

"Why would he think that?" she asked. "Is he here yet?"

"Yeah he was outside ," Quil told her and she walked by them and outside.
