A few moments later, while Lauren was on her way to take her daughter to preschool, Cory and Riley, along with Maya, were all watching television.

Except Maya, who was sound asleep, and as Cory glanced at her, he said, "Riley, not to sound mean, but why does Maya sleep during vacation from school? I thought she wouldn't even be here... Is Demolition not open?"

Riley smirked, and said, "Oh, it's just something she does on the first day of all her vacations. Nothing can keep her awake."

All of a sudden, the buzzer went off, meaning that someone was trying to get in, and Cory went over to the speakerbox to answer it. "Hello?"

"What's up, brother?"

"Farkle!"

Before Cory could answer, Auggie came running into the living room, pleased that Farkle was coming up just as Maya suddenly woke up, and said,"Joshie!"

As Cory buzzed him in, he looked at a surprised Riley, who said, "Whoa, wait, you're supposed to be asleep, Maya."

"In front of my future hubby?" exclaimed the blonde girl. "No way, girl friend."

Riley frowned, and said, "I've TOLD you, Maya, you're NOT going to be my aunt!"

"Whatever..." shrugged a grinning Maya.

When Cory opened the door, Farkle and Joshua (who was Cory's young teenage brother) stepped in, with the kid genius saying, "Hello, ladies..."

"Farkle," said Riley, smiling and nodding.

"Hello, Joshie," replied Maya, who added a little "oomph" in his name.

"Nice to see you again, Maya," said Joshua, while Farkle frowned.

After Auggie gave his uncle a hug, he went over to Cory as Maya told Joshua, "Here, handsome man, sit in the middle."

"Maya..." groaned Riley, but then, she chucked as Farkle suddenly took the spot Maya had referred to.

Looking up at Joshua, Farkle said, "Just back off, homeboy, the girl is mine..."

Riley smirked, rolling her eyes while Auggie looked up at Cory, and said, "Daddy, why does Maya get all lighted up when Uncle Joshie comes over?"

The teacher sighed, and patted his son on the back. "You'll understand more when you get older."

A few miles away, Shawn had just entered a diner for lunchtime, and was sitting inside a booth, reading the menu.

"Well, look who it is..."

The photographer looked up, and saw a pretty blonde waitress smiling at him.

"Katy, right?" said Shawn. "You're Maya's mom..."

She nodded her head. "Yeah, she's my daughter... Ha, I almost forgot about their little scheme involving us."

Shawn blushed a little, saying, "Oh, er, yeah, that was... Quite a plan... So how you been?"

"I've been better," replied Katy. "Maya and I are trying to talk more whenever we're at home, and I try to make it to more of her school activities since I messed up on Career Day..."

"Heh, I know how that feels..." thought Shawn, remembering when his dad had appeared at Career Day for him.

Then, Katy said, "Anyway, um... What would you like to eat?"

Shawn smiled, and said, "Let me think..."

Later on, while Riley and Auggie were playing "Pirate Adventures", Farkle was sitting at the table, eating lunch while watching Maya and Joshua enjoy tv, with feelings of jealousy.

Cory noticed this, and walked over to him, saying, "Not enjoying your cocoa puffs?"

Farkle replied, "No, it's not that, Mr. Matthews... I just don't get the difference between me and your brother."

Cory chucked, and said, "Well, girls are a complicated thing, Farkle... I remember back in high school that-"

"So this is supposed to be my homecoming party?" replied Shawn, stepping into the apartment.

All of a sudden, to everyone's surprise, Maya went up to give him a deep, warm hug.

"Heh, good to see you, too, Maya," replied Shawn. "You still have my gift?"

She nodded her head, saying, "Yep, sure do... Did you get my 55?"

The photographer looked confused. "What, er... what gift, Maya?"

"Remember?" said the teenager. "It was a-"

"Hey, hey, Shawnie," exclaimed Cory, happy to see him again.

Shawn laughed as the two best friends hugged, and after that, Riley came over to hug him, also. "Hi, Uncle Shawn... When's my birthday?"

Rolling his eyes, Shawn said, "I KNOW when it is, Riley, we've been through this..."

Riley just smiled widely, and asked, "So, did you find someone in Europe?"

Shawn was silent for a moment before saying, "No, not yet... Sorry, kiddo..."

"Oh, that's okay," replied Riley. "I know you'll find her one day."

Putting an arm around his best friend's daughter, Shawn looked at Cory, and said, "You know, Cor, your daughter has a really big heart."

Cory smiled, and said, "I've known that since the day she said was born."

Riley's smile became bigger, but then, their moment was interrupted when Farkle said, "Hey, Mr. Hunter!"

"Aaaaah!" Shawn exclaimed, jumping in surprise. "I've told you, Farkle, don't scare me like that... Boy, I sure hope you don't end up going to the other side, like your dad."

Farkle had a confused expression as he asked, "What other side?"

"I'm talking about-" began Shawn, but then, Cory nudged his shouder, shaking his head.

"Er... Nothing, kid, I'll tell you another time... So, anyway, Cor, I gotta tell you something."

Cory was about to speak when Riley suddenly pointed in the direction of her bedroom. "You know how this goes."

"Riley, we don't need to pour our hearts out about Europe by sitting behind your window," said Shawn. "Right, Cor - wait, where did he go?"

"You coming or what, Shawn?" exclaimed Cory, his voice coming from Riley's room.

Shawn sighed, and smirked at Riley. "You're turning into quite the schemer, little girl..."

"Yeah, well, I learned from the best," replied Riley.

"Nuh-uh, I'm the best," replied Shawn. "I always told him what to do. I still tell-"

"Shawn!"

"Coming!" As Shawn went to Riley's room, Joshua went to go play with Auggie while Maya walked over to Riley, saying, "I still don't see the 'cool' Shawn that I've heard about in the stories you told me... Just like how I haven't really met Mr. Squirrels."

"His name is UNCLE ERIC, Maya," replied Riley. "And he's my dad's brother..."

Maya frowned, and said, "Huh, I find it odd that both Shawn and 'Eric' left your parents to do their own thing after you were born... Don't you think about that?"

"Well, sometimes, but..." explained Riley. "I know that people have good reasons for what they do. Mom and Dad love me and Auggie, Shawn is coming more often... And I'm sure Uncle Eric will come soon."

"Uh, yeah, okay, little bird, " said Maya, smirking. "That's like saying Shawn is my dad."

Riley just rolled her eyes while Maya went to go listen to what her best friend's dad and uncle were saying, and she was about to follow her when he noticed something on the spot where Shawn had stood.

"Huh..." Riley picked up a pink letter envelope, and it had Shawn's name written on the front.

Realising that Shawn must have dropped it, Riley simply set it on the counter before going to eat some cereal.

"Nice cursive..." thought Riley.

Author's Note - I know it's been a while for this story to get updated, but I was really just waiting for Shawn's GMW debut episode to see how his story will be told on the t.v. show.

Thank you, though, for enjoying this story ?
