Chapter 11:
I woke up the next morning way more comfortable then I should be, I rolled over and belatedly realized I should have fallen off of the couch. I opened my eyes to find that I was in Dimitri's bed. That fucker switched places with me once I fell asleep. He's so sweet but such a dumb ass, he is so going to be hurting today. I looked over at the clock and decided it was time to get up. I didn't really want to get ready yet so I went downstairs still in my pajamas.
When I got to the family room I saw that Dimitri was already up so I decided to try the kitchen. I walked in to see Olena and Dimitri deep in conversation, but it was in Russian so I had no idea what they were saying. Dimitri glanced over when he heard me walk in and gave me his panty dropping megawatt smile. I couldn't help but smile back at him. Olena noticing me as well immediately came over to hug me.
"Good morning Roza, how did you sleep? Are you hungry?" she asked as she started dishing me up a plate without waiting for an answer.
"She's always hungry, Mama." Dimitri said laughing. Earning him an elbow in the ribs from me. He just continued to laugh as he pulled me into a bone crushing hug.
I rolled my eyes as he let me go and we all sat down to eat our breakfast. Dimitri was sitting close to me and holding my hand as he and his mom continued to catch up. I occasionally added something or answering a question about myself. It was so nice and peaceful, something I wasn't used to. We were just finishing up when the doorbell rang. Viktoria yelled that she would get it; I could hear her rushing down the stairs and laughed.
Abe walked in a few minutes later. Dimitri immediately dropped my hand, scooted away from me, and stiffened. It pissed me off! Why does he keep doing this? I decided to take action as an evil thought crossed my mind. After exchanging pleasantries and Abe sat down, I decided to have my fun now.
"Dimitri, why on earth did you wait for me to fall asleep to put me into your bed? I told you I wanted to sleep on the couch because you would never fit comfortably." I said and you could hear the suggestion of us sleeping together in my voice.
The two men's reactions were priceless. Abe went red with anger, why I have no idea. Dimitri immediately fell over himself trying to explain what happened last night.
"Sir, Rose was being stubborn and wouldn't let me take the couch last night. I didn't want her sleeping uncomfortably so I waited for her to fall asleep to put her in my old bed and then took the couch myself." He said this so fast I don't think he took a breath trying to get that out. I laughed out loud. I also saw Olena cover a small smile.
Abe seemed to calm down a bit and cleared his throat saying, "Well let's get down to planning what our next steps are to finding your mother." We all nodded.
"My sources have located your mother, she is in Scotland in a town called Ben Nevis near the Grampian mountains. I've already talked to some contacts and they have tracked her down. If all goes well we should be able to be there and done within a week's time. I have it set up that an alchemist friend of mine will be going with us as well to help with any cover ups we may need. I have my jet on standby so we can leave as early as tonight." Abe said.
"Well unfortunately this is also Rose's field experience so we have to train and have her scout with me a few times in order to fulfill Alberta's requirements for this trip." Dimitri stated firmly.
This surprised me but it also made me glad, we would defiantly be getting our whole month together. Abe did not look happy however, he looked irritated and pissed off. I think it was more that Dimitri basically told him no to his plans and not the fact that we would be delaying the trip. He composed himself after a moment however.
"Well then, when would you like to leave?" Abe asked.
"Well, we still need to meet with some friends of the family, also I need to inform Rose of some things we don't teach until graduation. As well as go out a few nights, and train. I would say two weeks give or take a few days." Dimitri replied.
"Fine I have a few things to attend to in St. Petersburg so I will leave now and be back in a few days. There are a few things I need to discuss with all of you, some more than others." he said looking towards me at the end of his sentence. Weird.
Abe then got up said his farewells and with a meaningful glare at Dimitri left.
Dimitri then looked at me and said, "Go get ready, were going to train for two hours and, then we can have a little bit of fun today." I nodded and headed upstairs to get ready.

Dimitri was finally somewhat back to the way he had been acting before Abe showed up for which I was grateful, so when he asked if I wanted to go out to lunch with him I said yes, and decided I would ask him why he was acting so weird when Abe was around.
We headed to a small hole in the wall restaurant that Dimitri used to go to a lot as a kid. When we got there everyone seemed to know him and it was nice to see him so animated and personable, not to mention the fact that he introduced me as his girlfriend not his student. I really loved that part. When we finally sat down Dimitri asked if I wanted him to order since I didn't know Russian, I said yes and he ordered. It was nice and the food was great, we had such a nice time that I forgot to ask him about Abe, so now that we were walking around town and Dimitri pointing out different places that he liked I decided to go for it.
"Comrade?"
"Hmm?"
"Why is it whenever that Abe guy comes around you act so weird, and do whatever he says?"
Dimitri stopped walking and looked down at me for a moment before answering, "Well there are a few reasons why, one of which he will tell you the other is well because of who he is."
I just kept looking at him confused so he went on.
"Abe Mazure is basically a mob boss. And a very powerful one at that, he controls most of Russia, Turkey, and a bunch of other places. Not to mention if he were to tell the Queen to jump she would ask how high. And he's not even royal."
"Damn! If he's so powerful why on earth is he helping us?"
"Well he said someone hired him to help us among other things which like I said earlier, he will explain when he sees fit."
"So the reason you listen to him and won't touch me with him around is because you're afraid of him?" I said with a giggle of disbelief.
"To be honest that's pretty much it, You see if he wanted he could make life for me and my family hell. So I need to make sure I do as he says so my family will be safe."
I just nodded, thinking over what he was saying.
"I understand that, I guess I just don't understand why he has such a problem with you and me."
"I know babe but that's something you're going to have to ask him about."
"I know." I sighed.
It had been a nice day so far and I didn't want to talk about this anymore so I changed the topic.
"So how are you going to make it up to me?" I said with a smirk and a wink in Dimirti's direction.
He grinned at this and replied, "Well, let me think about this." He pretended to think for a minute before going on.
"I was thinking maybe we could watch a movie after everyone went to bed, then have some play time in my old bedroom." he had a sly grin on his face now.
I blushed and elbowed him in the ribs while giggling uncontrollably.
xXx
We had just finished the amazing dinner Olena made for us and I was leaning back in my chair so full I didn't think i could move a muscle.
"Auntie Roza?" Paul said crawling up on my lap.
"What's up Paul?" I asked with a smile on my face.
"Would you put me and Zoya to bed, with a story and everything?" he asked with puppy dog eyes that looked so much like Dimitri's there was no way I could say no.
"Of course I will!" I told him he jumped up and 'yippyed'. I looked over at Dimitri who had a look of pure love and amazement in his eyes. I winked at him before I got up groaning from being so full as I made my way upstairs.
Paul and Zoya were already in Paul's bed already in their pajama. Wow these kids are fast. I got into bed in-between the both of them and they gave me a chose between three books. One happened to be one of my favorites from when I was a kid. I was excited! It was the monster at the end of this book which was an amazing book!
"Okay you two, are you ready?" I asked as the cuddled into my sides.
"Yeah!" they say in unison.
"Here we go. The monster at the end of this book, starring lovable, furry old Grover! 'Hello everybodee!'" I started in my best Grover impression.
"The monster at the end of this book, 'This is a very dull page. What is on the next page?'
'WHAT DID THAT SAY?'
'On the first page, what did that say? Did that say there will be a monster at the end of this book? IT DID? Oh, I am so scared of Monsters!'
'SHHHH'
'Listen, I have an idea. If you do not turn any pages, we will never get to the end of this book. And that is good, because there is a Monster at the end of this book. So PLEASE do not turn THE PAGE.'
'YOU TURNED THE PAGE!'
'Maybe you do not understand. You see, turning pages will bring us to the end of this book, and there is a Monster at the end of this book...'
'…but this will stop you from turning pages. See I am tying the pages together so you cannot...'
'YOU TURNED ANOTHER PAGE! You do not know what you are doing to me! Now… STOP TURNING PAGES!'
'THERE! I, Grover, a, nailing this page to the best one so that you will not be able to turn it, and will not get any closer to the Monster at the end of this book.'
"Bam! Bonk! Bing! Klonk!"
'ALL RIGHT! ALL RIGHT! ALL RIGHT! Do you know that every time you turn another page… you not only get us closer to the Monster at the end of this book, but you make a terrible mess!'
'This will stop you from turning pages. A heavy, thick, solid, strong brick wall. I would just like to see you TRY to turn this page.'
'Do you know that you are very strong?'
'The next page is the end of this book, and there is a Monster at the end of this book. Oh, I am so SCARED!'
'PLEASE do not turn the page. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE'
'Well look at that! This is the end of the book, and the only one here is… ME! I, lovable, furry old GROVER, am the Monster at the end of this book. And you were so SCARED!'
'THE END! I told you there was nothing to be afraid of.'
'Oh, I am so embarrassed….'" as I finished the kids were laughing so hard they were crying. It was adorable.
When I looked up I saw that not only was Dimitri standing leaning on the door frame, but his tree sisters were all standing in the doorway as well. Listening to me read. I flushed. I kind of tend to get incredibly animated when telling stories like this and tonight was no exception. Though the look on Dimitri's face was one of wonder and love, and a hint of sadness. I knew the sadness was from the knowledge that we would never be able to do this with our own children. It saddened me a bit but not as much as I think it does him.
As I got up from the bed I tucked Paul in tight with a kiss to his forehead, and then placed Zoya in her crib with a kiss as well. Telling them both good night.
I then left, turning out the light and joined the others in the hallway. They all had grins on their faces, but only nodded to me as they all went to their own rooms for the night.
