As Derek and Peter were heading out towards Peter's car Peter stopped and then said to Derek:
" Get all of your books because you will not get behind even if it is your very first full moon."
Derek could tell that Peter would more than likely not end up punishing him too harshly, the rough exit from the Principal's office had been more for show. The silence throughout the hallway was deafening as Peter helped Derek get all of the books from Derek's locker.
As Derek handed Peter his last book the class bell nearly caused Derek to scream but still resulted in Derek dropping his half of his books he had been holding. Even Derek though could not keep himself from wincing as he felt like his own ears had been shattered.
"Hey Derek, you okay,?"
But Derek did not hear the voice at first until he recognized both the familiar scent of Colton and her hand placed upon his shoulder.
"Yeah I'm fine," Derek told her but his Uncle Peter he could very obviously tell was both very anxious and very eager to get Derek out of here.
"Come on Derek, we have to go, you can talk to Colton later," Peter said sounding stressed and even anxious in his voice Derek realized.
"Yeah alright," Derek responded and then after saying his own goodbyes to Colt, both Peter and Derek began to head quickly towards the exit. Derek's head was beginning to really bother him as he and his Uncle headed towards the 1968 Camaro that Peter drove.
"Hey Peter, I don't feel—"
Derek sentence remained unfinished as Derek just without warning collapsed and would have busted his head wide open. Except luckily for Derek, his Uncle Peter had managed to catch his nephew, but was immediately frantic.
The only person that Peter could think of to visit was the local veterinarian Mr. Alan Deaton, because hospital was not an option. For if Peter took Derek to the hospital and Derek healed any type of severe wound faster than a human could then Derek would inevitably end up a scientific experiment.
Peter immediately picked Derek up bridal style and then without even thinking twice about Derek's fallen books, he placed Derek into his car.
Then Peter bolted to the driver's side of his Camaro and then after slamming the keys into the ignition and putting the car in gear, slammed his foot down on the gas.
As Peter sped towards the animal clinic he could smell rather than tell that Derek had developed a fever which was rising. Then Peter heard a weak voice say:
"Uncle Peter?"
Immediately upon hearing the words Peter while trying his utmost best not to wreck his beloved Camaro, responded with:
"Derek, it's okay I'm here you're going to be fine," Peter told to his nephew, not entirely sure if the statement was even the truth or a lie.
"I don't feel good," Derek uttered in barely a whisper, obviously having to strain himself to even say these few simple words. Upon realizing this Peter immediately told Derek:
"Shh, Derek, shh, try not to talk we're almost to the clinic," Peter said as he pushed his foot down even further onto the gas pedal which was touching the floor. Then Peter took his hand and placed it in an attempt towards comforting Derek.
Then Peter began to need his fingers through his nephew's hair in an attempt towards calming even himself.
Then upon seeing the Animal Clinic Peter began to pray that his nephew was going to make it, because Derek was really the only family that Peter had left apart from Laura.
DEREK's P.O.V.
"Why is it so cold?" Derek thought to himself as he felt Peter's hand began to knead through his dark black hair in an attempt towards calming them both.
As the seconds seemed to stretch on and further on, Derek felt as if it was steadily becoming more harder and harder to get any air from his lungs. Derek was more and more so becoming more lightheaded by the moment, but Derek refused to faint, he had to hang on.
Then Derek remembered about something that his own father and uncle had told him about years ago. BLACK WOLFSBANE. Immediately Derek began trying to get his uncle's attention but before Derek could even attempt telling. Derek felt himself being lifted up from the passenger's seat of his Uncle's Camaro, and immediately saw the local vet Dr. Alan Deaton.
Deaton began to ask Peter a long string of question's which were left to his own pondering as Derek felt unconsciousness sweep over him as he submitted unwillingly to the darkness' grasp.
