We all sat around the table. My father still staring at my aunt. It had been an hour since we got back to dauntless. I got a big telling off. The good news what that the other factions have been broken into overnight and the numbers are all over their walls with a child and symbols engraved on the back. My father was getting worried that the factionless might try to overrule them again. The children were the same as yesterday. Archie pushed his glasses to the top of his nose.

'Well, we can try to match the symbols with the way of the writing.' He said. Tonkin shook his face.

'That's not how we encrypt the code.' Tonkin said. Archie stood up straighter.

'Then how are we meant to encrypt them then?' Archie sounded offended. Tonkin didn't care as he continued to answer his question.

'I found out while I was held captivity. It's like Morse code.' Tonkin said. 'I can't say how it works. But a symbol and a number go together to make a letter. If we crack the code we might be able to find out who the victims will be. We know that mine and Ella's name is on the list so we could be the first they want to find.' Tonkin explained the plan to us. Leon had brought down his computers from that place we stayed at. My father finally stopped staring at his sister and said.

'And how who the people are?' he did have a point.

'The records.' Aria said quietly. Some guards from dauntless came in with photos in their hands.

'Here sir, we got all of them. Plus some pictures of the symbols on the boys back.' The guards handed the pictures to four. He laid them on the table and we all looked. Tonkin picked up two pictures and was going to throw them into the bin next to him.

'Tonkin, what are you doing?' I asked.

'These are our names.' He said quietly.

'Keep them out. We could still be wanted for the message.' I say. He put the pictures back on the table. It had been four hours since we cracked the first two names. The factionless have made it even harder to crack their writing. The first two were Wilde Harris. We have made out that he was in Erudite. One of the smartest but toughest. Some people believed that he would be better off at Dauntless. The second name was Mia Hardy. She was Amity. Nothing smart about her but knows what to say and do when she puts her mind to it.

'I can't get this name.' I say after about ten attempts to it. My father sat next to me and tried helping me.

'I'm sorry about yesterday. I didn't know it was this serious. You are doing so well with this stuff. I know it must be hard trying to do this to save people from the past that you had.' As my father said that, I stopped and put down the note pad.

'Really?' I say. He stares at me. 'This has nothing to do with my time in that place. I don't want this people to be pulled into a trap that could make them dead. If they are dead after and while of being caught then there will be no past for me and Tonkin to relive. Archie picked up the note pad I put down. He cracked to the code within five minutes. While I and my father were talking, he asked around about this name. When he asked Tonkin. Tonkin words startled me.

'He is dead.' Tonkin said. I looked up at him.

'Who was it?' I asked him. He looked back at me worried.

'It was Christian Morer.' He said slowly. I froze. Wait he died in his sleep along with Jason. I took the pad from Archie and looked at way he cracked the code. He didn't go wrong.

'I need another name please.' I asked. Aria passed me her pad with an unfinished name at the bottom. Clar. I quickly finished the first name. Clarity.

'Tonkin. Christian died in his sleep. Clarity died because she had a heart attack during the night. Maybe they didn't die, just cover ups. What if they are alive?' I said. Tonkin's faces brighten up. The door opened then closed. I turned around and saw three children. They didn't have faction clothing on so must have been factionless. When they got into the light I saw their faces. The first was a boy, the second was a boy and the last was a girl. I knew these people.

Christian, Joshua, Clarity.

People who were dead are standing in front of me smiling.
