Chapter 11: Blood's Not Thicker Than Water
-=-=-X.X-=-=-X.X-=-=-
The faint sound of life could still be heard outside as the girl held up her new doll, her grayish-purple eyes staring out the window. On the ride over she could barely contain the butterflies fluttering around in her stomach. Looking over at the male across from her, she smiled gently, wanting nothing more than to play with him, if not given the chance to actually hug him. Desiring the male to embrace her in his arms, and hold her tightly promising to never let her go.
"We're going there, aren't you happy at all to finally be able to see him again?" She asked, using her words carefully around the calm looking teen. Covering up his eyes as he turned to face her, she caught the look of indifference.
"I don't know what to feel." The young male answered honestly, not really understanding what he felt in returning to the side of the one he'd abandoned long ago.
"I guess, it will be fun." She said with lips painted a cherry red color, "After all, the stage has been laid out, and now we can prove that you are the one and only." Her short but sharp nails moving to scrap lightly against his cheek, as she spoke with endearment. Pretending to be someone she was not in order to get closer.
"Maria?" Backing away, he hated when the female became this way. It was as if, she had a slight perk of joy watching him squirm beneath the spell she cast on his form long ago. Moving stands that shined brilliantly in the moonlight, she drew her hand close to his face knowing that she'd hurt him in that moment. Wanting to apologize, she felt fond of the male.
"I'm sorry." The sickly pureblood apologized for toying with him, knowing all too well his feelings were held for someone else. Smiling she decided that she'd no longer participate in feigning the existence of someone else."Ichiru." His face turned toward from her view, gaze back towards the radiant moonlight.
"We'll be there soon, right?" The question was silently spoken in a low whisper, one which she heard. A smile came to her face, as she easily deciphered his mixed feelings.
"Of course, only if you wish it?" Kurenai said softly her voice changing only a slight measure which indicated who he trully spoke with, and it was no longer the young female descendant.
Shizuka smirked only a little, knowing that he felt anxiety, and excitement just as she did. "I think, first we should travel back to the place where you told me where it first started, and perhaps celebrate for the last time together. Fate has dealt me a rather crappy hand, but all in all, I've enjoyed it because of you. You're just as sweet as he is, even more so, if not bitter." Shizuka's voice became gentle, the silverette knowing well of the immense pain and suffering that drew them closer together.

Moving slowly towards the older vampire, Zero waited for his punishment. Knowing that he shouldn't have waited so long to feed his exhausted body. Day after day, and night after night, he had thoughts of feeding. Multiple students moving around him, as though moving through a crowd, alone he stood in. Their heartbeats pounding inside of his head, the taste of their blood already on his lips.
There...waiting...watching for the perfect opportunity to strike.
The ex-human felt it wasn't completely his fault, his body was becoming completely dependent on the pureblood's blood, like an insatiable drug. The perfect didn't want it, but no other would do, not even Yuuki's anymore as something inside vibrated violently at having to return to the female's now unsatisfying blood.
"How long has it been since your last feeding?" Zero refused to answer, instead eyes that reflected a beautiful purple flower stared into the male's own burnished eyes. "A month?" Kaname spoke, eyes now bore themselves into the mauve orbs. Those eyes stared defiantly wanting nothing more than to show, contradicting the need to actually do what the older said for once. A flash back of when they were in the same situation made itself known.
"Is this what you really want?" Kaname switched their positions, pushing Zero up against the door. "Must you always aggravate me to the point, where that's all you see?" He was too close to him, Zero felt as their faces were too close. Kaname staring into his eyes with an almost pained expression,"Why can't we end it?"
'Why couldn't we?' The words failed to make it pass his lips, rolling around inside his head, the fear almost present as he didn't want to lose himself inside the other. The thumping in his ears, louder than the sound of a drum drowning the world. With each step he took closer, he could feel his heart pounding, and swore that Kaname could hear it too.
Slowly, moving his body until he stood in front of the dark-haired male. Zero suddenly felt completely drained, he waited silently for what he could imagine as the scenario to be played. Harsh words, he knew would come, and wanted to hear. Wanted to be punished, scrutinized, and looked down upon for his irrational behavior. Inside, his mind was telling him to blame Juubei, for coming and destroying his balance of the torn up life he barely had a hold on.
The other part of his mind was telling him that it was still his fault, that he accepted the consequences- even if he was too ignorant to know which ones- that came with it. Kaname was doing something completely looked down upon and forbidden in nature. Because he wasn't the one to turn Zero, yet, he was sharing his blood with someone of the ex-hunter's class.
It irked the pureblood, somewhere deep down he was expecting a strike, or for foul words of insults to leave those lips that reflected the same color as pink roses. But they never came, and he found that he was grateful to not fight for the first time since last on the subject. Kaname could feel the gaze of the ex-human upon him as he stood from his position of the lounge chair, making him a little uneasy. Still, they both knew that he needed it, if only to protect Yuuki from him becoming level-end.
Unbuttoning the first top buttons of his dress shirt, Zero watched almost hypnotized by the gesture. Watching as the pureblood's skin revealed itself slowly to him. Feeling his mouth water, Zero tried to turn away from the sight of skin that looked soft to touch. Swallowing, he kept his eyes lowered to the floor, watching as the president of the moon dorms shoes came in to view, telling him just how close the older male had become to him.
Kaname made the first move, lifting his hand up to his neck to give the silverette the encouragement to be done within such an awkward situation. His nail, sharp already pressing into the tender flesh. At the smell of blood beneath the fingertips, made his eyes shoot up to look, already feeling the increasing burn in his throat intensify.
Lilac eyes averting as he stopped the very movement as if he had a hold of Kaname's hand. "Wait." The words came out almost silently, before releasing a breath that Kaname read as dread. Zero could feel a cloud of blood lust rolling in, he could smell the sweet scent of an intoxication that promised fulfillment being released as the older vampire finally dropped his hand to his side, giving the silverette a choice. But not much of what he offered as he suddenly grabbed the teen's arm pulling him into his body, almost in a warm embrace. Eyes wide, Zero felt as his face was buried in the dress shirt the pureblood wore, with out thinking, inhaling in the brunette's scent.
"For once, let go of that stubborn pride of yours. It'll only kill what's left of you, Zero." The words no matter how spoken were soft, filled with the tone of kindness held close to that which could be read as sympathetic.
Closing his eyes regrettably, Zero didn't realise that he leaned into the scent, let his instincts take over. 'Let's let go of pride, shall we?' The words echoed in the back of his mind, relevantly adjusting to the situation, all the while trying to make sense of all that was happening.
The pureblooded vampire waited patiently as he could feel the breath of the younger touching his neck, and tickling his dark strands. The running of a tongue over his smooth and delicate skin, awakened forgotten instinct within himself. The feeling he couldn't understand as he could feel his heart beat a tad bit faster, before he calmed himself.
Licking his dry lips, to moisten them if only a little, Zero's eyes traveled over the pulsating vein, fangs throbbing painfully wanting to bury themselves deep within. Begging to sinking themselves into perfect skin, and tasting perfect blood. Blood, that he could still remember from dreams, with the tinge remnants from those times when fed while unconscious, or the verge of death.
'So many times', Zero thought as his nose now took in the scent completely of what was Kaname's, honey and exotic fruits, he could taste it. Its sweetness like that of wild assorted fruits. His senses kicking in to over drive as he finally granted himself what he wanted more than anything in that moment, grabbing on to the back of Kaname's shirt, egging him on what he denied himself of wanting to do from the very beginning. He could feel tears suddenly stinging his eyes, tears forming at the brims, making him cast second thoughts of doubt. 'Thank you.' His last thought passed through as his teeth sunk in causing both bodies to shudder.
Gently, almost sweet even. Kaname's reddish-brown eyes softened, as it was the complete opposite action he expected the hunter would usually give. Kaname's reaction became equal as he closed his eyes, allowing his head to loll slightly to the right, permitting more access for the younger vampire.
The feel was completely different from memory, the taste completely enriched, not as sweet as he'd pictured it to be. A small nagging in the back of his mind, telling him to sink his teeth in deeper, and he followed.
It was warm, he could feel heat, and on the inside he was stuck in a liquid dream. Slipping under the surface, the color changing around him, colors that he couldn't see but knew were brilliant enough to surpass that of euphoria. Zero was floating, the flavor becoming the sweetness taking on the form of another taste. Wanting more, his tainted orbs opened briefly, staring but unseeing. The pure crimson reflecting in the dim light as he accidentally jerked the pureblood's head back with his hand entangled in soft hair he wasn't aware of. His body screaming for more, mind spinning in circles as the colors became clear, images appearing from a time before, visions of promise.
The rich color almost blood red sheets hanging around the four posted cherry wood king sized bed. Dark colored satin sheets, their perfect match, but underneath the color of black and emerald lacing over white sheets. His hand slipped, becoming caught within that of another. Long slender fingers, lifted themselves to cherry pink lips, desire becoming apparent in eyes as warm as chestnuts. Dark cherry colored eyes dipped in chocolate. A look of longing, pained, and filled with need.
Zero's eyes shut completely, the part of his mind that wasn't completely numb, told him to pull back, while his body still wanted to go on. He knew that he'd regret it, so he breathed in deeply, and continued to dig deeper. Searching for those same images, he could barely hear a moan in the background, blood starting to rush downward, his body becoming hot, and skin flushed. The scent of cinnamon bleeding out to only turn into the coolness of mints.
Those same eyes that wandered over his body, took him in just like lips that caressed his own, as he moved closer into the body of his lover. Wanting more than just the feel of his skin, needing more than just a taste. Becoming aware of hands caressing the back of his neck, intertwining into his hair almost tenderly like a lover before his head was forcibly yanked back. A moan of protest leaving his lips, a whimper becoming apparent before he realized just what it was.
Immediately he drew back, fighting against the haze that had complete control of his mind. The ex-human absentmindedly licked at the line of blood that escaped his lips as he was forced to part, leaving jagged lines and puncture wounds to be healed.
Removing himself from Kaname's slouching position over him, his hands immediately went up to his mouth. Feeling shell shocked, as his eyes were held open by fear. Abandoning his own jumbled up feelings and thoughts, his concern turned on to the drained pureblood. Panic, he was panicking on the inside.
Truly, a monster as he didn't consider what this would do to the pureblood. What's more is that he was becoming irritated with himself for the concern he held suddenly for Kaname, and if needed he'd be willing to share back what was taken. Stopping the thoughts there, no matter what feelings he held, Zero did his best to stomp out the small voice in his head whispering words that could break him. 'You owe him.' The feeling of losing him, it frightened him out of no where as the panic became real.
"Kaname?" His voice shaking, the name being said with uncertainty, as he watched the face of the other breathing deeply.
"I'm okay." Kaname said as he pressed his back up against the wall, his hand touching his head, a slight throb coming. "Go get some rest, we have a long day ahead of us tomorrow." Still in the same spot he was left standing, Zero watched in silence as Kaname started to make way to the couch and he felt lousy being useless. Somewhere it hurt, knowing the older vampire would never accept his help. Would never need him nor accept him.
"I want you to meet me here, once every week, for as much as needed until you've had adequate feeding to be able to go even a month without needing blood to sustain yourself." Brown-reddish eyes gazed over the body of the younger vampire, watching as silver colored bangs lowered to cover guilt ridden eyes.
"Understood." The words were spoken without a sign of defiance behind them, instead giving off the impression of a deep apology as Zero left the vampire where he laid. Pressing his back up against the closed door lightly, he couldn't stop the rush of blood, or the fast beating pace of his heart. Everything stopped, as he had a hard time catching his breath. The world around him seemed to be cracking and falling apart. Pieces fitting in to make odd shapes, images not meant to be seen or shared, and he crashed. The need to place blame became discernible as he tried to catch his breath while stiffing his silent tears. Zero slid down the wood substance, grateful.
At the same time, spiteful as he went against everything he previously stood for in the past month. Allowing temptation and other words of encouragement to lead him to the path of impulsiveness.
"Longing with the undeniable feeling of pain."
The fear of falling asleep plagued at his mind, wondering what dreams he would see were frightening. Closing his eyes, a shiver overcame his body and suppressed his soul, tears falling from his eyes.
Knowing that he wanted more, much more than what was offered from the pureblood. The images of the other's arms wrapped around his body, as they pressed against each other. The rapid beating of his heart as his blood became ablaze with an unknown fire pulsating through his veins. Heat pooling at the pit of his stomach, nerves fighting transmission of electricity shooting through out his spine, and his body coming alive with a violent fever.
"When will you stop denying who you are, Zero? You are him, Ryuuzaki Reiyuu."
His hands gripped down at his side, as he now had to come to terms with the facts and face reality while crying on the floor, until the edge of darkness took him away. "It's too late." The mouth moved in the image, "The evidence is already against you."

The pureblood hadn't meant to acknowledge the pain the other endured each day. Kaname was sure of it now. His name being called, small, and faint. Daily, heard by his ears, the glance that he pretended to ignore almost everyday, one the ex-human was unaware of him knowing about.
Zero called to him again, in that moment, before his departure. Now he knew, what the silverette had yet to know about himself. The one-way bond that they'd secretly made, and the warm ache for another becoming more and more duller by the days. The emotions that passed in that moment, a piece of his soul being devoured by another.
Concern.
It was something he felt, as he laid back against the fabric of his make-shift resting place, enjoying the feel of mock comfort. The pureblood's head still swam, and he was sure that what he had felt coming from the silverette was concern. 'But why?' Zero was suppose to hate him, his kind, all vampires. 'So, why then was there a sudden change?' In his head the question revolved before they were covered by a smile of bitter amusement.
Now he was the one starving even more, needing blood to sustain himself, but the only type that would do was becoming further away as something inside became less interested in who he wanted, the taste of the one who he started to no longer ache for. The brunette was starting to take note to the changes around him. The smell, he first thought was just his imagination, wishful thinking. Or perhaps the hunter advancing in his current level of class D, to now what seemed almost like a level C.
His skin, Kaname was sure of it now, gave off the scent of a familiar berry, and somehow he was sure that he could taste the familiar scent of creme. A deep smooth whipped blend like vanilla entering his nostrils, staining his tongue, and enticing him. Allowing it to linger there, allowing their positions to slip, leaning more into the makeshift embrace, while enjoying the feel of the younger in something he hadn't done in a long time.
Sharing that intimacy, always opened up doors of desire, and the complete thoughts of being one. The thoughts, temptations, unbearable, he immediately had to make the other pull away. Making another demand of the younger vampire, knowing that he'd only weaken himself as the blood pills didn't satisfy his thirst at all. The pureblood was almost completely sure that there was a possibility that he'd give in to his own instinct the next time they performed such an act. The bond calling forth, wanting to be fulfilled. Soon, he'd want the same thing the young silver-haired hunter wanted, something more than what is supposed to be given.
Kaname's thoughts stopped there, eyes opening wide as he didn't explain to the teen taking from him what it was that he would be pursuing in. Biting his finger slightly, holding back the beast waiting to strike in the edge of darkness with eyes blood red, fangs fully extended, claws gripping tightly against the fabric of his shirt, wanting to break through. Kaname closed his eyes, finally moving from the dark colored couch, heading towards his own bed ignoring the slight ache that rested well against his body.

"Where's Kuran?" The small voice made itself known to the small group he was standing by. Faces, smiling faces turned to greet him happily.
"It's been awhile, Ryuuzaki." Aidou's blue eyes stared at the smaller boy next to him. Unannounced his hand went to wrap playfully around his waist, pulling his body close. A blush that he thought he suppressed made way to his face, lighting his cheeks a light pink. Sighing, he hated the behavior and how he had to cover his true feelings of being touched by others, as it only sent chills down his spine. But he'd never admit it, or show the unknown fear he felt at such a loving gesture, no matter how amusing it was.
"Where's Kuran?" Reiyuu tried again, catching a few eyebrows raising at his serious tone.
"On the terrace, why?" Takuma asked, wanting to read a better picture of his cousin.
"No reason, just wanted to know is all." The wheat blonde spoke, paying no mind to the looks given on behalf of his older cousin."After all, this is his family's party."
The young Ichijou watched the actions exchanged between the two pure-bloods, knowing that there was some chemistry, maybe major chemistry, even if denied on the younger's part.
"Can you go and get him? I'm pretty sure he'd be happy to see you. Kaname's been a little down lately, maybe a cheery face such as yours might help in that department." Reiyuu sighed, not laughing at all at the joking manor Hanabusa tried.
"Ha, ha, very funny. So not charming Kain." He said stepping out of the light grip Aidou held around his waist. "Do you really want me to go and get him? Or was that just a joke, too?"
"Not at all." Takuma straightened up, watching the uncomfortable display they had when gathering around the shorter male. "Fine, I'll do my best." He said leaving the small group, maneuvering around the large crowd of people, not liking the idea that he was being watched by many.
Reaching the open doors, he moved aside the thin fabric that was suppose to be a curtain. Watching, he looked at the stoic face of the older pureblood. His heart raced at looking at the male in front of him."You know, you're not the only one?" Reiyuu started watching as the brown haired male turned his attention from the distance to recognize him. '"I hate it here, too."
"Is that so?" Kaname asked the younger male now taking a seat beside him, looking up at the clear night sky. Being taken away by the shadow of the moon, more than the light. Not knowing just how precious he looked in the eyes of the older pureblood.
"I'm sure." The blond started up once again, debating if he should come any closer to the dark-haired teen. "Takuma always talks about how much he hates these routine get together's. Aidou and Kain, they both feel the same thing. Though they don't mind it as much as others, after all we don't want to insult you or your parents." Mesmerized by the presence of the young pureblood, Kaname couldn't help but pay attention to anything but how those pale pink lips moved, eyes wavering in uncertainty." I guess I really have less to talk about, since I still have no clue on how these things work."
"Are you nervous, Reiyuu?" It was bold, but he had a knack for being straight forward, especially around the young teen. Picking up on the pace of the younger's heart from the moment he stepped into the room.
"No!" It was blurted out before he could stop it, silver blue eyes averted. A sullen look crossed over that angelic face, and Kaname barely noticed when his heart skipped a beat as his hand inched close to the light blonde's hand.
"Are you cold?" Kaname asked the question, noticing as the younger vampire ceased a shiver, and pushed out a lie. He wanted to warm that body with his own, visualizing how wonderful it would feel to have the younger pressed against him.
"No, I'm fine." Those leaden-irises stared uncomfortably at him, almost like an after thought. .
"Then, why do you shiver?" Russet colored eyes stared into light blue ones, making the younger shudder more clearly. Reiyuu was the first to stand, making the older follow his gesture.
"Better get back inside," His head motioned towards the open doors," Before anyone notices I've been gone too long." Reiyuu moved to leave, and instinctively Kaname's hand grabbed the other's pulling him close into his own body. It took his breath away, and he couldn't help but sway at the control he was suppose to have over his body's impulses.
"It's okay to admit such things, there's no need to lie or be embarrassed." Kaname chided the other with a light smile on his face, standing, and bodies close as he looked down into hurt filled eyes. It puzzled him, and he wanted to know why such a look was lost in beautiful eyes? Such as the ones staring up at him in that moment.
"Why do you look at me with those eyes?" The voice was unexpected, and it almost knocked Kaname completely off balance. The boy was perceptive, more than he'd like to give off. "Why do you look at me like that? I, I..." His eyes looked away, not staring faithfully into the burgundy stained ones of the person who made him nervous, and he couldn't stop his body from quivering.
"Isn't it obvious?" The silk like voice made blue eyes stare once more into his own, an almost impossible inquisitive look. Kaname lowered his face, perfect, wanting to meet the lips of the younger pureblooded vampire.
"Why do you look-" The voice was silenced, lips meeting the pair of lips soft like falling rose petals. It was unexpected, the tears that escaped from the corner of pale blue eyes as they closed, leaning into the kiss, deepening it. Passion was etched in every crease, hands wrapped around the body fitting perfectly in his arms. Memorizing each curve and crevice of a hot cavern, he made to lift the lithe body wanting to feel more.
Quickly, hands came up pressing firmly against the chest of the other, breaking away from the hot kiss they shared. "I can't do this." They pushed with unnecessary force, making the older scoot back just enough for him to get away from the intoxication.
"Not here." Reiyuu said, quickly leaving the terrace making his way back inside, and away from the pureblood vampire chasing him carelessly.
Looking around, he couldn't spot the young vampire anywhere. Sighing, his hands went to his head, ruffling his hair in frustration, mad at himself for screwing it all up.
"I should've kept them all to myself, Takuma." A pained aura could be felt, stepping away from the hands of comforting companions. Kaname immediately covered his hurt feelings, remaining to stand in the crowd of people, ignoring the voices of the company surrounding him. The scene changed as the words were breathed out in regret.
"He isn't your son!" Again the voice would repeat. The truth, it echoed painfully in the background.
"I'll never forgive." He could hear himself say at the sin he'd committed, and the memory he lost because of it. "I'll never forgive them." Zero said as his sword cut the man into half, piercing through a purple colored kimono. White lotus in bloom, and mint green etching along the trims. The blood flowing down as he finally looked up into the eyes of his tormentor, only to have them widen in terror.
"He isn't your son either!" Daniel said back, but his voice didn't match his face as he recognised that the person he cut through was not the one he intended to kill. A light smile twitched quivering lips, the blood staining the kimono in blotches as the woman smiled down at him. Tears in her eyes. "Reiyuu, my sweet son." Risa's voice finally came back as her hands petted his head and ran through his hair staining blonde locks red.

"So, how did it go?" The male spoke, staring at the dark haired male sitting in front of him.
"It went well, of course." He spoke back, pretending everything was fine, but he knew it all wasn't.
"How are his lessons coming?" Ash-blonde hair was moved out of the way, his own sword pressing up against his shoulder.
"Takuma tells me, he's developing rather well."
"No surprise. After-all, given his background."
"Yes, hunters adapt well. Based on our mixed heritage." Another voice added in, smoke being blown rather carelessly. "Did you really think, the first weapon he held was a gun?" It was said smugly, some hate mixing somewhere in the words, lingering long enough not to be read anymore.
"Ah, Yagari nice to see you've come to join our conversation." Kaname's eyes showed no regard for the man, and instantly returned back to look into the merrily face of the headmaster.
"Well, I guess that means my time is up, right, Kurosu?" The pureblood vampire removed himself from the chair he was comfortably sitting in. "I bid you both a good night."
"The same goes for you, Kuran." Yagari spoke, putting out the poison with the flames of the burning fireplace. They watched patiently as the vampire's presence could no longer be felt.
"You were once a great hunter, right, Yagari?" Hazel eyes stared up smugly, almost with hidden mirth.
"The same could be said for you to, Kaien." The hunter spoke while moving closer to the headmaster. "You didn't forget to mention one small detail to him, did you? Or was this done purposely?"
"Purposely?" Light brown eyes looked else where, almost amusingly at what he'd failed to fill the other in on.
"You didn't mention the new student." Yagari spoke calmly, almost skeptical of how the events of what were to come would play out.
"Oh, that girl. She's no worry, at the moment, Toga." The night class teacher only smiled back, "If you say so."
Inside, he could feel the foreboding darkness that was invited with the female that was to come within the week. And knowing the truth of said female's heritage made something inside tremble with fear for his beloved students. Especially his adopted family, which he became so attached to that he didn't want to separate ways with any of them. Or have them leave him once they found out the truth on their relations to one another, and their coming to Cross Academy.

"You're slacking again. Why?" The question was asked with curiosity, a hint of anger barely being hidden below the usual enthusiastic noble aristocrat.
"Does it really matter?" His voice was low, eyes averted to the floor, head bowed, and sword raised. "Concentrate, if you want to live-"
"Maybe I don't want to." The words were said softly, cutting off the other, his head still bowed and eyes wavering with the internal battle of sadness. "Tell me something, Ichijou." Zero finally stared up, looking into the eyes of the noble, not missing as he slightly blanched. "Would you tell me the truth, if you knew it?"
Brows furrowed at the random question, and he answered it as best he could without giving the look of confusion. "Of course I would, but what is it that you're talking about?"
"Would you still, look at me the same, if you found out that Ryuuzaki was not your cousin as everyone thought he was?" The question came as an eye-opener, and Takuma found himself staring on the ex-human in the same manner.
Cracking a smile, before looking down at the floor. His sword falling to face the floor, the reflection catching the animalistic look in his eyes, the true nature he kept hidden came forth to the usual light aura of the cheery vampire.
"What if, I told you that no matter what you remembered, doesn't mean it's total truth?" Darkening green eyes now stared up at the shaking sword in hand, still pointed towards himself. "Would it really matter, if I told you the truth? You told me that you didn't want me to give you the answers so freely. What makes you think I would tell you about our families well kept secret?"
Takuma's sword came up to become a mirrored image of the other, "If you want it, you have to fight me for it." The words were spoken boldly, and without another sound being passed between the two, motion was lost in sight.
Zero had already made his move, Takuma side stepping with practiced ease. "You're gonna have to do better than that, Zero." Anger was his best friend, and so was hatred. Right now, Zero was no good, because he was in despair. Takuma knew how to play these things well, even when Reiyuu was alive, they were the things that got him to truly show his powers. He needed the younger male to attack.
Death was no option, no matter how badly the pureblood wanted it. He'd never die in such a manner as in battle, with honor, but in a different setting. One that they couldn't foresee, not even when it was right in front of their faces.
"I wish you all dead." The words were hinted above a whisper, but clearly spoken from the silverette. The feeling of a deep hate coating them, laced with betrayal and hurt. It was the pure rotting of soul as eyes seemed to be completely frozen, harsh, and lacking any emotion. All of the thoughts swirling around just like the release of power in the room, the barriers were set in place this time. Takuma was ready, and wanted to see the extent of the true nature of the sword being held in the unstable teen's hands.
"Awaken it, Rei!" He yelled out to the teen, the room temperature dropping as cold-colored eyes came up to meet his own burning green ones. "Don't call me THAT!" Zero snapped at the other the power engulfing his form once more.
Screaming in pain, Zero couldn't allow it to take him over, his eyes clouding over with a deep red, before the sharpness of silver blue eyes came piercing through. "No," He breathed out, "I won't let it control me." He almost doubled over, but caught himself as it was too late. He lost a hold on his body, and now was forcefully taken into the darkness.
"You wanted to see it that badly, huh, cous?" The words were spoken sadistically, Zero looking up to stare at the figure with great disdain and disregard as he attacked without holding back on what he saw as the weaker vampire in front of him.
"That of hate, so deep that it burned hotter than fire." The room temperature dropped below freezing, he could see his breath clouding the air. A hard substance starting to form around the hilt of the sword the silver-haired teen held. "The ability of ice which burns hotter than the flames of hell." Takuma watched as the hard forming ice came his way.
Moving, he avoided it the first time before it latched onto his body, freezing his arm. With satisfaction Zero smiled as the blonde cut right through it using his ability with his sword shaking off the cold. Dodging another slate of the adamant substance came his way, trying to latch onto his legs.
Disintergrating its form as if it were no threat. "Nice to see you too." The glass-like substance broke, turning into shards, and eyes widened as he didn't think the male could dispel such power from his body.
Breaking apart as much molecules as he could all the while cutting all that he could, he watched as the next few barely made contact. Knowing well what would come next, he focused his powers to remove the one that made contact. A smile came to Zero's face, gulping Takuma knew he couldn't stop what was coming next as he could feel his arm turn to ice from the inside, completely encasing even his sword.
Clenching his teeth in that moment, he cursed not expecting again for the ex-human to be able to even do that trick which made him stay away from the blonde-pureblood back in the day.
The memory was faint.
The pressure was released sending both occupants to be thrown back, shattering glass. Takuma screamed, it was loud. The only word that repeated from that memory, the only word that had an affect on him. "Jaded."
"No!" The voice was strong willed, making everything stop like clock-work that now became frozen time. Zero regained control over his body, observing as the shards disappated with the help of the noble vampire. Dropping to the floor and out of breath, Zero stared up at the older vampire, panting slightly and covered in sweat as the ice melted from the room. The temperature retuning back to normal. His sword glowed the brilliant color, the same, as his cold eyes.
"You did that on purpose, you ass hole!" Zero was angry, eyes flashing red briefly from the onsought bloodlust he felt at the drain of his energy. The memory of Takuma's full extent of his ability came to mind as he never seen it in this life before.
He sighed as the feeling of hate didn't last long as something inside him forced him to cool down at the weary smile he received. Before teeth were covered by closing lips, then the sound of echoing laughter.
The feel of deja vu made his skin chill as goosebumps took over, "What's so damned funny?" The silverette wanted to know, wondering what was going on inside the twisted head of the blonde-haired vampire. 'Is he really that crazy?' Remembering back to the weapons vault, he wondered how the male survived? And it made even more since from that time before when Takuma and Reiyuu had their first encounter how the male has been faring all this time. 'Even if he could break things down at a molecular level. I'm somehow more than sure that with a greater attack, he'd be hurt.'
"There's your answer, idiot. You will always, and forever remain family, even if not by blood. You were the only one who protected me that time, and didn't use me."
"What?" Zero was confused and wanted an explanation.
"You are still my cousin, no matter what you've seen in the split fragments of your memories. Pulling back was proof, in some cases, some don't always choose their own kin. Sometimes it proves that blood isn't always thicker than water."
"What?!" Zero nearly screamed at the top of his lungs, "You fuckin idiot, you did do that as some sort of test. I could've killed you, and you, you..." He now looked away in feigned anger the will to be angry in earnest gone, feeling like an idiot who let his emotions get the best of him.
"Is that what you were agonizing about?" Takuma sighed in defeat, "You are still family, idiot. And if you still don't understand, I'd give you a pounding to be remembered." He smiled now at the younger, getting up from his place on the floor.
"What did Kaname mean about keeping them all to himself?" The phrase stopped him, and the hearty smile Takuma had turned into a frown.
"I should've kept them all to myself, Takuma." A pained aura could be felt, stepping away from the hands of comforting companions. They were words breathed out, filled with pain and regret.
Studying the silver-haired hunter, the blonde too seen the hint of hurt held in lavendor painted eyes."Oh, that?" He spoke it as if it were the marker for the grave of a loved one. Lifting his sword, it immediately went to point at entrance of the door. "It seems," Zero spoke the words with malice, "We have an uninvited guest." Green eyes followed, both now looking towards the shadow standing by the door. The male perfect not bothering to command his sword to disappear to the glass-encased imprisonment it endured

A/N: Okay, so I know it took forever but I worked really hard to make this one better than what it was. And if you could have read the previous version, you'd cringe. Surely, I know this. Anywho, finally I'm done with this for now.
On to the next one. Thank you all who actually made it this far and stuck it out with me, rather or not you liked it. Well, that's not really my concern. But those who enjoyed, I only hope to continue entertaining your interest or curiosity or whatever it is that keeps you to this.
