{It will never be the same}

The smell of smoke filled Jason's nose, he felt himself begin to cough and splutter.

He slowly lifted up his head and looked around, he couldn't see much, his vision was slightly blurred, although he managed the basement/warehouse or where ever he was, it wasn't as destroyed as he had first excepted, he thought that he would die again in an mass of fire then darkness, alone.

The bomb must have been upstairs, it blown the roof off.

Some small flames were still lapping at broken wooden beams and parts of the fallen roof, he couldn't see any of the dead hostages bodies or the Joker either, just the pungent smell of smoke and broken beams, tiles and bricks.

Where was Tim?

He felt his heart beat increase with worry, 'Kid..?' he asked quietly '-Tim, where are you?'

He heard a groan and an small sob, 'Jase- Jason?' a weary voice asked.

It was Tim.

He wasn't too far from him, he was just covered in rubble.

Jason felt himself smile slightly, then he started to cough again, his chest hurt, his arm hurt, every bone ached, and why was his vision getting fuzzier and darker?

Jason couldn't think right, all his thoughts were mixed with memories and he began to loose consciousness.

'JASON!'

Why is someone calling my name?

'JASON?'

Bruce?

'JASON, WHERE ARE YOU?

I'm not sure.

'DON'T BE DEAD, JAY'

Dead? I remember now...

'JASON!'

No, get the kid he's Tim!

'JAY!'

I'm sorry.

Tim was saying Jason's name over and over, his eyes fixed on Jason's unconscious form, he took comfort in seeing Jason's chest moving up and down, he wasn't dead, that was good.

Tim's throat became dry, he began to cough and the stench of smoke and burnt flesh met he nose, he felt like he was going to throw up.

Looking around he realized that the explosion hadn't been as bad as he first expect, he looked at himself making sure he wasn't missing any limbs, everything was in tact, but his left arm and leg were burnt slightly, it wasn't too bad, he would live.

That was something.

He suddenly noticed there was something sticking out the rubble, about two metres from him.

'Oh God…'

He murmured, as he closer inspected it he saw it was a bloodied hand sticking out of some rubble, Tim crawled slowly over to it, ignoring the pain shooting up his left leg and arm, shaking as he did so, he removed some of the rubble.

The hand belonged to one of the hostages, who was shot before the explosion, the man's eyes were still open, Tim reluctantly put his hand on the man's face and closed his eyes.

Tim was completely sure he was going to throw up now.

He felt himself move away from the body, and run his fingers through his matted hair, what the hell had just happened?

'Too much.'

He began to feel warm tears run down his cheeks and drip off his face, the feeling of grief overwhelmed him it was like something, some darkness was clawing at his insides ripping them apart scratching and scratching until blood was poring out of them for everyone you see.

'Mo-mom..' He sobbed, more tears erupted from his eyes, now the darkness was reaching up his throat, causing it to feel dry and making him cough again, still endless tears running down his face; He couldn't even feel them anymore, he just felt numb.

He could almost feel his innocence melt away.

He began to hear voices, shouting.

'JASON!'

Tim looked up, wiping the tears from his numb face.

'JAY!'

Shock overcame Tim as he saw Batman running around the explosion site, removing rubble, he was looking for Jason, behind him were the teen titans, also searching through piles of rubble.

'H-Hey!' He attempted to shout but his voice trailed off quietly.

'HE'S HERE!' Tim shouted loudly getting annoyed at his self, 'Jason's here..'

Seeing the heroes running in his direction, he suddenly became light headed, everything went black.
