Hello, my Shink fans that are totally okay with the things that I write about! I decided a while back to write this and have had it done for a while, doing some small editing here and there, and I finally think it is ready. Make sure to tell me what you think and leave ideas if you have them!

Enjoy!

The hero's hands were not a comfort as his husband sobbed. Blood covered the inside of the young Sheikah's thighs, the remains of their child.

"This isn't your fault, Sheik. You heard Zelda. The body gets rid of the baby for a reason." Red orbs glanced up for a moment to meet blue, tears clinging to the corners. "He would have been born deformed."

Sheik grabbed fistfuls of his hero's shirt and pulled him down to glare at him. But the once-hero remained calm in the face of his loved one's anger. "Don't you dare talk about my baby that way! I would have loved him no matter what!"

"You know I didn't mean it like that. He could have been born unable to survive. What would you have done if he was born without lungs and the moment he tried to breathe, he died." More tears ran down the warrior's cheeks. Link cupped his face, moisture collecting in his own eyes. "You should not beat yourself up over this. If anything, you kept our baby from harm. You protected him, Sheik, just like a mother would."

"That doesn't change the fact that I killed him!" Sheik finally let go of Link and turned on the bed, facing away from his husband. "I heard what Zelda said. My body rejected my baby."

"Because there was something wrong." Link would have to insist on that fact over and over before his lover understood. Sheik flinched when Link's hand came to rest on his side. "Navi misses you, you know."

Another round of hiccuping overtook the Sheikah's body as he thought of his daughter. Almost a year and half old. What was she feeling right now? Her daddy was around less and less yet still there, but Papa hadn't been home in a couple weeks, having been at the castle under Zelda's watch as she tried to save the baby. He suddenly wanted to go home and shower her in affection.

"Link." The golden-haired man smiled as his mate sent one his way. Finally.

"Yes, love?" The hero helped the Sheikah up into a sitting position, wincing himself when Sheik did.

"I want to go home. I need my baby, my Navi."

"Papa!" Sheik grinned as the little girl came running into his legs.

Link had given him a stern look as he bent down to pick up their child, so he straightened up and allowed Link to hold her close so he could run his fingers through her hair, cooing in her ear.

They now sat in their room, Navi excited at having her parents back. She babbled on about something that was lost on the two, but Sheik smiled nonetheless. Link was just pleased to see Sheik happy again. It would take time, but they would move past this. Sheik would move past this. And Link would try his hardest to convince Sheik that it wasn't his fault. Maybe, they could try for a baby again in time.

Link's kisses suddenly turned lustful as he moved down to Sheik's collarbone. The younger trembled as he felt the change.

The once-hero pulled back as he noticed his mate shaking. "Sheik?"

Sheik's face was a grimace. "W-What?"

"You're shaking." The older male moved closer, taking his husband's small hands into his. "Tell me what's wrong?"

"I... I..." The Sheikah shook his head and Link knew.

"Don't worry, Sheik. I can stop." He took Sheik's face in his hands and kissed his brow.

It was the softest of touches and it made Sheik shiver with desire. He wanted to let Link make love to him. Oh, he did. "I want to. I just..."

"I know." Link wasn't going to mention what was bothering Sheik. It would only make things worse. Link could wait. And if Sheik never got over his fear, than he was fine with that. Not that the wolf in him agreed.

"Congrats, Boy." Link grinned at the Gerudo sitting next to him on the well.

"Thanks, Nabooru." They watched in silence as Sheik danced about the massive fire, Navi squealing in his arms. The little ball of sunshine had turned three today and the whole of Hyrule gathered to celebrate the Hero's child.

"Does he know?" It didn't surprise the hero that Nabooru knew of Sheik's condition. She was the master of spirits after all.

Link shrugged at the Sage of Spirit's question. "I think so, but we aren't getting our hopes up." The sages had been there when Sheik lost the child. Nothing they did had helped save him. Sheik was hostile towards Zelda and the sages for months afterwards. He even snapped at Link often for... well... planting the seed of the child in him. It was not a good time for him, but they all understood.

"Would you like to know the gender again?" Nabooru could see the aura of the child, something that had stunned the pair when she pointed out that Sheik was carrying a boy the last time. Not even Zelda had been able to tell them that early.

"Sure, why not." The Gerudo stared for a moment, her face scrunched up in confusion, and then she gasped. Link was panicking just as suddenly. "What? What is it? Is something wrong with the baby?"

"No. Nothing is wrong with... either of them." Shock flashed across the once-hero's face.

"T-Two?" Nabooru nodded. "Should we tell him?"

"You can if you wish, but perhaps you should wait until after the threat of miscarriage. I would hate to see the damage Sheik would do if he lost two." The woman chuckled lightly, though slightly humorlessly. "I'm sure Damien's nose will never be the same. But the arse deserved it."

Long story short, the princess's newest general decided to comment on how Sheik was a man, so he shouldn't have been able to carry a baby in the first place and deserved to lose it. Sheik broke his nose and pelvic bone.

"T-Twins?!" Sheik's breathing turned heavy as a panic attack tried to set in. Link rubbed at his shoulder blade as he pulled Sheik back into his arms, the both of them sitting in a chair together as the hero figured Sheik would take the news hard. Nabooru sent a knowing smile Link's way and the hero returned it.

Sheik noticed the looks Nabooru and Link had been giving each other. He hissed and jumped from Link's lap, turning on them like an animal. "You knew?! And you didn't tell me!"

"It was for your own good, Love." Link got up and wrapped his arms around his husband. "Just in case something happened. We didn't want you to suffer with that guilt."

The sage made sure to get Sheik's attention before going on. "There is nothing to worry about, Sheik. Both of your unborn children are strong and healthy. And you are past the point where... miscarriages are a serious issue."

"So, what? You would have just let me believe I was losing one child again, as if the other doesn't matter at all!" The Sheikah tensed in Link's embrace for a moment before going limp. Sobs shook the younger male's frame. Link was able to make out two words of Sheik's hysteric mumbling. "...my baby..."

The once-hero shushed and cooed in his love's ear. "He's in a better place now, Sheik, and we will never forget him. But you have three little lives to look out for now, so don't shut back in on yourself. Our baby wouldn't have wanted that."

Sheik sniffed and rubbed his tear-filled eyes, glancing up at his husband with the most vulnerable of expressions. "I know."

"Breathe, Nephew." Sheik let out the air he had been holding and reached for his husband's hand.

Link smiled as the smaller male's fingers intertwined with his. "You're doing great."

"Push real hard for me, Sheik." The nearby infirmary nurse stepped forward to wipe Zelda's brow. It took a lot of magic to ease pain and allow for a way to get the baby out without completely changing the young man's body. The princess smiled as the head of the first baby came into view. "Good. One more."

And, within the next three pushes, little Mira had been born. Yet, no one knew at the time that the other baby, a boy later named Tian, was stuck inside. It was the first time Zelda had ever had to cut someone open to get a baby out.

"Is it so ugly that you have to stare?" Sheik blushed and pulled the blanket back up over his stomach to hide the incision from Link's view, as the hero had been glancing at it since the younger got the okay to take the bandages off.

Link snapped out of his thoughts and locked gazes with his mate. "What? No. It's different. That's all."

Tears welled up in Sheik's eyes. "You think it's hideous, don't you? You won't want me now that I have this... this-"

The once-hero gently pulled his husband into a warm embrace, laying kisses anywhere on his face he could reach. "Shh. Please, don't cry. I love you and would not be so petty as to cast you aside because of something so small. I'm just worried."

The young Sheikah sniffled and tried to calm his rapidly beating heart. "O-Over what?"

"Nothing to get to upset about." Link sat back, a serious look on his face. "I just think we should take some precautions against having another baby."

Sheik snorted. "You mean like not having sex anytime and anywhere you feel like it." As he said 'you', he poked Link in the chest.

The older male rubbed at his abused pectoral. "Come on, Sheik. It was one time."

"What would you do if Zelda found out?" Sheik hissed the words through his teeth.

The younger gasped as his mate placed a kiss to the corner of his mouth. "It would be useless for her to do anything. The throne gets cleaned often enough and you made sure to clean up the mess."

It was comical how the once-hero almost fell out of the bed as his husband pushed lightly on his shoulder. "The last time I spend a night at the castle with you when we- No, when I have no reason to." The hero chuckled.

Link laid himself out on the bed, his arms above his head as he gave Sheik a superior look. "You have to admit those chocolates tasted so much sweeter when you ate them off my-"

"That is quite enough!" The smaller was quick to smother his husband with the spare pillow he had balanced his food on earlier that day.

Link pretended to struggle. "Sheik! Can't breathe!"

The Sheikah rolled his eyes, but couldn't help the laugh that bubbled out as Link faked being limp. "Too bad."

Even thought it was muffled, Sheik could still hear Link's voice. "Can you remove the pillow now?"

Sheik removed the pillow and spoke slowly, like he was talking to a child. Not to far off from the hero's mentality. "Are you going to continue to talk about our bedroom antics in any place that is not the bedroom?"

"For the record, we had sex in the throne room. Therefor, it doesn't cou-"

"Back under the pillow you go." He made to do just that, but then Link was up and over him, a hunger in his eyes.

"How much longer do I have to wait until I can have my mate under me again, Love? I miss rocking into that body of yours." It seemed the wolf had decided to show itself. Perhaps it was a bad idea to talk about sex so much when Sheik was unable to.

"Ask Zelda. She said I need time to heal." He glanced down at the blanket pooled around his bloated belly. It would take some time for that to go down.

"Can't it go any faster? I've already waited what feels like forever." Link's nails dug into the white shirt Sheik wore as he tried to make himself more intimidating.

Sheik was having none of it and cradled his hero's head as he rubbed his thumbs up Link's ears. "And you'll wait longer if you want us to have some kind of protection against conception."

Link shook his head as he calmed the wolf and backed out of his husband's face. "Sorry. We really should be more careful. With the wolf and having anymore kids."

Yeah. Now, let's go to sleep." They shifted around to get comfortable, Link's arms wrapped around Sheik's stomach as he nuzzled gently into the cotton shirt.

It didn't take long before Sheik was drifting off, but he could hear his husband speak as he slipped into unconsciousness. "And, for the record, I don't think your stomach is hideous. It's a testimony to the pain you went through to bring our child into the world." Link moved down, carefully pulling away fabric to expose the soon-to-be scar and kissed along it. "Just makes me realize how amazing you are. I love you, Sheik."

I admit it came out longer than I thought it would be, but I don't mind and I hope you guys don't either. There may be a few issues and things that don't quite make sense, but I'm bad at finding everything and sometimes to lazy to change things to fit. Oh well, you read it anyways.

I really do enjoy these two. They are my favorite Sheik and Link that I have written so far! That probably won't change.

Review. I wouldn't mind some ideas for these two. I had some wrote down somewhere, but I lost them. Sorry if I lost one you guys gave me.

Love and babies,
