Sam grabbed his shoulders, looked him straight in the eye and said, "Don't make me regret this."

He wrapped his arms around her waist and replied, "You won't."

And then Ember's sound wave finally reached them.

Chapter 11

Sam's lips were crashing against his. No, his lips were crashing against Sam's. Whichever.

They were lip smacking even before Danny figured out who kiss who first.

The sheer force of the attack threw him off guard. His defenses, as well as his senses were out the window. He wasn't thinking. He couldn't, actually. His thoughts exploded into puzzle pieces he couldn't identify. All that mattered was Sam. And her lips.

Her supple, soft and sweet lips, he noted. This kiss, it was probably the best kiss he ever had. And addicting too. He might never want anything else in the world except for this. Except for Sam.

He moved his mouth, opening up a little and urging her to invite him in. She didn't. She was still frozen in place. His arms held her tighter and his mouth traveled lower. His lips brushed against her cheek, her jaw and down to her neck. He nipped and sucked a little skin on her throat and glided to her collarbone.

He was planning to do something even more if the impact of Ember's attack didn't flip them to the wall. Their bodies slammed, Danny didn't have time to react, he just tucked her to his chest and prayed that his body would be enough of a shock absorber and shield. They bounced off the wall and slid to the floor.

Sam gave an oomph and Danny checked her immediately for any sign of injuries. She had a cut on her forehead which was starting to bleed. Sam blinked her eyes open and stared at him. Then she squirmed, arched her back and groaned.

Danny lifted the side of her shirt and spotted a forming bruise on her side. His eyes darted back to her face with concern. Sam didn't speak but he could see the hurt and question in her eyes.

"It's okay." He murmured to her. "Just …."

He gently laid her on the floor. "Don't move, baby. I'll take care of the little bitch."

Sam was about to protest but she couldn't seem to find her words. Danny's eyes flashed with concern again and he dipped down his head, brushing swiftly his lips on hers and transforming to phantom at the same time.

He was gone in an instant. And all Sam was left was the tingling on her lips and pain shooting from her ribs. She tried to get up and got the wind knocked out of her. She gasped in agony and relaxed her torso a bit.

She gathered up as much oxygen as she needed, braced herself and rolled to her right, ignoring the bolt of pain as she scrambled to her feet. She clutched at her side and leaned against the wall for support and watched Danny Phantom flung beam after beam of ghostly energy to Ember and her wobbly minions.

He hit Ugly green minion #1 right in the stomach. He stumbled backward. Danny fired another and hit Ugly green minion#2 on the head; he fell to the ground, unconscious. Minion number#1 struggled to stand, letting out a guttural sound as he tucked his fist and launched himself at Danny.

He flew to the left, sidestepping the offense. The ghost lost his balance, his own momentum tripping him as he collided with the wall. Danny let out a small chuckle.

He was about to hit the third one when Ember suddenly blasted him, catching him off guard. The impact of the blow sent him a few walls back, only managing to phase through them, he disappeared and Sam's eyes widen, anxiety grappled her heart, and kept her in place.

What the hell was happening to Danny? As far as Sam heard about Phantom, he was strong and almost impossible to defeat. He was also witty enough to rub his undefeated reputation on his ghost enemies' faces.

Unless …of course! It was the stupid love spell that was slowing him down! He must be suffering in another inner conflict between fighting evil or running to her side and tending to her scratches.

"The kiss didn't recharge him up that much. You should break his heart instead."

Sam turned and saw Tucker limping to her side. He still had that black eye courtesy of Danny but he also had scratches and a few bruises on his arms now.

She blushed when she remembered the kiss but she masked it with a look of confusion instead.

"What?"

"Break Danny's heart. He's much more powerful when he's angry."

Sam raised a brow. Tucker seemed to be catching up with the whole ghost thing like a pro. He almost sounded like he knew everything. How long had he known anyway? It felt like just a few days ago when Danny had accidentally shown her his secret. He even confided with her that Tucker was innocent. Now, Tucker was acting as if he dealt with this before. As if he knew.

Well, Shit.

Danny didn't exactly sit down with her and give her a heart-to-heart talk about his deepest, darkest secrets. He avoided giving away details as much as he could, even it means lying to her straight in his teeth.

"You knew."

It was not a question. It was an accusation.

Sam watched as Tucker's face morphed into horror as he realized his mistake. Though, a second later he composed his mask with a look of indignation.

"That's not important. Right now, you've got to help him."

Sam narrowed her eyes. "You knew all this time but he said that you didn't. I bet he even told you that I found out, didn't he? That was why you manipulated me to get detention with him and prevented me from telling on Valerie. You turned her against me. Now, she's mad at me for what you and your friend did. You had it all going your way. You and Danny! What a pair of scheming. Lying. idiots."

Tucker gulped but he refused to show any semblance of surrender. He kept his leveled look on her. "Detention, yes. Turned Valerie against you, no. What do you think of me, some evil brainwashing guy who controls people he comes across with?"

Sam didn't reply she just gave Tucker a look that says 'hell, yeah'.

Tucker sighed. "Look, Sam. Technically, I didn't lie to you. I'm not the one who has ghost powers and follows you around like a dog and gazes intensely at you for no apparent reason. In case, you didn't notice, my name's Tucker Foley not Danny Fenton." He pointed a finger on the wall. "Danny phased through that wall in his lame attempt to stop Ember from taking over the world. Now, if we both want to continue this interrogation escapade, we should first put Mr. Intangible jerk's ass out of the stupid love spell."

Tucker was right. She didn't have a problem with him. She had a problem with Danny and now, was not the pretty little time to get so worked up with stress and anger over Danny's faults, even if there were a million of them.

"How are we going to do that?"

It was Tucker's turn to raise his brow. "Haven't you been listening? I said, break his heart."

Sam already felt like an idiot for asking but she really had no idea. "How?"

"Like this."

Tucker grabbed Sam by the chin and tilted her head up. He practically shoved his face down on hers. Catching her slightly agape mouth in his.

Did Sam say that she didn't have a problem with Tucker? Because obviously now, she have.

Danny recovered from Ember's cheap trick and flew back to the scene when an abrupt movement on his left caught his eye. Worried, he glanced down to check on Sam and was shocked to what he witnessed instead.

His best friend, his freaking best friend was shoving his tongue down his girl's throat!

Here he was risking his own neck to save all of them while they get cozy and play 'explore your mouth' there? He felt like the biggest idiot on the planet. Believing he was the hero, the martyr one taking them aside and putting his half-life on the line and this was what he gets in return?!

What a great help! Fucking help.

Well, shit. His heart felt like it was being ripped into shreds. Torn muscle by muscle, nerve by nerve.

Damn. Fuck. them. both!

His mind conjured a mental movie involving him and torturing Tucker to death and maybe even including Sam and pitchforks and fire or something that will make both of them regret what they did for the rest of their pathetic lives. He even thought about getting back at Sam by kissing Valerie or Ember in front of her but it all faded away when he realized it was all useless.

Tucker and Sam would be no match for him.

Slowly, his gaze shifted to Ember who was wearing the biggest bitchy smirk in town. Now, that was a worthy punching bag. His fists curled at his sides and felt his eyes burning. If looks could really kill, Ember would be toasted even before he reached her. Danny slowly let a knowing grin spread across his features. He probably looked like a maniac right now but who the hell cares? Definitely not Sam, because she didn't give a damn about his feelings after all they've been through today.

Tucker pushed himself off Sam's lips after he made sure Danny did see them. He glanced up already knowing he was right, Danny's eyes were flashing a bright shade of yellow, glaring at Ember like he was killing her already in his mind. Just then, Danny's face contorted in a beaming, frightening grin.

"Oh, crap."He muttered.

"What the hell?" Sam was clearly not happy with what Tucker did and she apparently hadn't recovered from it.

Tucker hesitated and glanced up to Danny again. "How about I explain later?"

"How about I beat you now and let you talk later?" Sam, the stubborn girl she was, was nowhere near backing down.

"How about we get out of the way first?" Tucker grabbed Sam and ducked behind a large stereo.

"Whoa! Watch where those hands go." She raised her fist as if going to actually strike him.

Tucker immediately dropped his hands. Sam tried to sit up again and glanced up warily to find Danny.

"He'll be fine. But cover your ears."

She looked back at Tucker. "Why?"

"Do it now!" Tucker pulled her down again, covering his ears in the process. Sam squeezed herself against him and did as what he said.

An earth-shattering wail exploded in the room. The ground shook, jittering the computers and stereos. The walls trembled and cracked. The cracks turned into gaping mouths in the ceiling that threatened to drop dangerously overhead.

Ember's teenage goons in the form of Dash and Kwan ran outside, her other ghost minions, recognizing the attack, panicked and struggled to fled the scene when the powerful wave reached them. They stumbled to the far corner, barely conscious of what was happening when they got sucked by a bluish white light into a silver thermos.

Danny put the lid back and faced his enemy with a surprising amount of calm and composure. He looked at Ember and slowly grinned at her.

Ember tried to scurry away when a white-gloved hand grabbed her by the shoulder and threw her across the room. Her body collided with the cracked wall and slid down. Her guitar slipped a few feet away from her. She got up as quickly as she could and reached an arm to clasp her guitar.

The guitar snapped into half even before her gloved fingers grasp it; a white boot stepped on it and crushed it dramatically with the sole of his feet. Effectively releasing the minds of millions of her fans around the world. Ember's face scrunched into an angry scowl as she levitated up in the air, glaring at her opponent. She let out a battle cry and attacked.

Danny met her fist with a swat of his hand. He let out a fake yawn as he flicked her off with his fingers. She skidded a few feet away, grasping her shoulder. Danny disappeared and materialized in front of Ember. His hands glowing dangerously red, aiming at Ember's chest, ready to vaporize her into nothing when Sam's voice echoed.

"DANNY, STOP!"

The gleaming red beam vanished and Danny's eyes flashed back into its sky blue color then returned to glowing green. He glared at Sam who was half-standing, half leaning against a wrecked piece of electronic. She was glaring down at him like he was the one who should be punished.

The nerve of this girl.

His jaw clenched. Sam tilted her chin higher, refusing to back down. She crossed her arms over her chest. Danny's eyes traveled lower and widened upon seeing blood gushing down her arm. He glared at her one more time then turned back his attention to Ember.

Ember fought to sit up and leaned her back against the wall. Her legs sprawled on the ground in a twisted angle. She gritted her teeth and was about to fire another ray when Danny slapped her hard in the face. Her head was thrown sideways with the impact.

He heard Sam gasped but he didn't look at her. He opened the thermos and let it suck Ember inside.

The walls continued to quake and debris after debris started plummeting to the ground. He capped the thermos and clicked it back to his belt.

He hovered in the air, his eyes glazed and his face wiped off of any expression. He flew to Sam, she was gazing at him with a look he couldn't name, either she was disappointed or terrified of him, it doesn't really matter. He didn't meet her gaze, he glanced to her side and saw Tucker standing up. Without a word, he grabbed them both by the waist and disappeared in the sky.

-Thank you all for reading!

*crazyreader11-Thanks, although I think this one is kind of late. I got a little too distracted.

*SamXDanny-Thank you. Tucker's been taking the brunt of Danny's bottled up emotions so the guy just took it to his own hands in getting even.

*Natellah-Thanks, Danny's acting like he could punch Tucker whenever he wanted so karma gets back at him.

Hurray! This is the first time I've actually written more than ten chapters. I consider this a milestone.

Anyway, enough of my little epiphany. Kindly hit that pretty review button on the lower right corner and share your awesome opinions with me.
