"S-s-so w-what was t-t-that?!" I said to Emily, still trying to comprehend what I saw...Wolves?...Rose was in a shock as well. We had been in Emily's house for minutes, feeling like hours, just sitting down in the kitchen chairs. Rose and I were just out of it, Can you blame us?

Emily giggled a little "What do you think it was?" Does she really expect me to know?

I sucked up enough energy before I started talking. "H-Half animal, H-half man" To be honest I had a million guesses. Wolf took over a body of a human, Wolf ate boys...or the one I feared the most...Shape shifters!

"Close, but there Shape shifters" Emily said, once again, giggling. I heard the legends, about how special people could Change into wolfs, but that was crazy! When I was little I had wanted to marry a wolf, but when I grew, I realized that was crazy! Now, I think I am crazier!

"So...the legends...are they, true?" I asked a little shaken.

"Yes" So if they are true, what about the...cold ones

"And the...cold o-ones" Even thinking of them was scary. They way the legends describe them...I HATED them. They were cold, and drank b-blood and killed people

"Yes there true, that's why there are shape shifters, to protect people from them, more vampires, more shape shifters" So what she is saying is that, cold ones could attack us and KILL us at anytime!? So the shape shifters had to protect us!? That also meant...Jared risks his life everyday, to protect us. The other boys to?

"Then why did Jacob attack Rose! I mean if they can't even control themselves, then how can they save us!?" I stood up from my seat. I was mad, but yet, scared at my sudden outburst

"He just phased, it takes a little while to control their anger" Emily said touching her scars. Immediately my face fell, is that what happened to her...

"Your f-face, because of a wolf" I said, trying not to sound mean. Rose went up to me and hugged my legs, scared of what we might hear

She half smiled and kept touching her scars. "Not exactly" She pointed back to the seats, meaning that if we don't sit, she won't tell us the story. Rose and I accepted the offer, this time, Rose sitting on my lap.

"Well, you see" She began "One time I got mad at him, and I brought up things I shouldn't have, he lost control of him self that day, and phased right in front of me, giving me this scar. I went to the hospital later that night, and asked for him. He said things like 'I love you with all my heart' and 'Just tell me to die and I will' but that is when I realized that I truly loved him" I couldn't believe what he did, Shock and worry washed over my face

"So why are you engaged with him today? Even if he did say all those sweet things" I would have ran, but now that I think of it, if Jared did that to me, and told me what Sam told Emily, I don't think I would be able to resist him either.

"Because" Her smile grew wider "He loves me, and I love him" I could feel a tiny smile form on my lips. The way she said it, it even sounded like true love. I felt calmer, but I still didn't feel completely safe.

"Are we not suppose to say" I said, changing the subject. Emily gave me a confused look "About wolves?" Rose finished for me

"It's suppose to be a secret, the only people who are suppose to know are the shape shifters, of course" Emily laughed "Council members, also other special creatures, like vampire's...and us, there special someone's, Me, you, Rose, and anyone else who...comes along!"

What does she mean by special someone's? Rose and I shared a look, before Rose said something

"What do you mean?" Rose asked

Emily giggled once again "You will find out soon enough" Emily said looking at me "As for you Rose...you will find out in the long run" Rose pouted.

"Who's going to tell us 'what you mean'" I said. Was there someone who was instructed, to tell us?

"Them...Jared and...Embry" I still didn't get it, why did they have to tell us

"When will they tell us?" Rose asked. We needed all the info we could get

"Kim will find out soon, and like I said Rose, Embry will have to tell you when your around...15 at the least" So if Embry will tell Rose, does that mean Jared will tell me? And what makes her think that we will be hanging around that long, I mean, people never really stick around me for long.

"Wait!? When Rose is fifteen, then Embry will be" I started to count me fingers, the only problem was that I didn't know how old Embry was "Embry will be like 35!" I said, just taking a swing

"That's another thing about shapeshirter" Emily pointed out "As long as they keep phasing regularly, they will not age" Oh, wait...that means, one day, I will be older than Jared?

"So one day, I will have to marry Embry!?" Rose asked standing up from my lap. Her voice sounded disgusted, yet happy. I wonder how she came to that conclusion.

"You don't HAVE to, be he would love you to" Emily laughed. Was she serious?! Could Rose really marry Embry, I can't except that!

"Rose you not going to marry Embry" I said calmly, getting up from my chair, like I previously did. I couldn't even image her marrying him. He was...DANGEROUS!

Emily was staring at me, along with Rose. They both had shock faces, and I could feel that I did to. A new Kim was taking over me, and I didn't like her, but I felt like she was actually right.

"Kim..." Emily began

"No!" I said cutting her off, angrier now. Kim...STOP IT! I just couldn't listen to myself "I'm serious! We are not going to hang around those...mutts, I am not going to mess up Rose's life!" I hated myself for saying this, especially since Emily didn't do anything wrong. I hated calling them 'mutts' to, I love wolfs and dogs, but them...they were scary!

"We're going!" I said, feeling that if I keep hearing any more of this 'wolf' nonsense, I was going to explode.

"Kim, wait" Emily said, calmly getting out of her chair.

"S-sorry" I felt bad for what I did, but I couldn't prove this 'new Kim' wrong. I grabbed Rose, losing my balance for a second, before I forced myself to regain it quickly. I put my jacket on Rose's head and made my way out the door

I am positive that I heard Emily call my name, but I couldn't go back, not after what I just did.

The air was cold, cold enough that I could see my breath. I was lucky that it wasn't raining, or else it would turn to ice. Even then, I felt more relaxed to go, to leave that place. Where all the boys...Phased...into...wolves!

Something that I never thought was real, much less, see. Even though I did dream about them a million of times, I just thought there were wolfs, not shape shifters!

I couldn't bring myself to hate them though. They made me happy...Jared made me happy. NO! You have to forget about him, you got to protect your self...your family...Rose.
