Chapter 10: Adventure on Island of the Moon
"Fire Dragon's…" Natsu engulfed his fist in flames and charged towards Luffy.
"Gum-Gum…" Luffy stretched him arm back and charged towards Natsu.
"…Iron Fist!" Natsu launched fire fist at the straw hat captain.
"…Pistol!" Luffy launched his fist and collided with Natsu's, sending a shockwave throughout the area and knocked their respective group back. The shockwave send both Natsu and Luffy flying through a few trees. The Fairy Tail Wizards and Straw Hat Pirates looked at the area with widen eyes. Natsu and Luffy both got back to their feet and walked back towards where they started their fight.
"Let's call it a tie." Luffy said, surprising his crew and the wizards.
Natsu smirked and said, "Yeah, it's a tie. You're tough."
"Yeah, you too." Luffy said with a smirk. "Let's fight again someday."
"Yeah, but next time I'm kicking your ass." Natsu smirked.
"Oh yeah, we'll see about that." Luffy said as they smacked the other's hand out of respect. Chopper checked both of them for injuries and put bandages on the injured spots. As Nami's group went to the village, Luffy's group left the Fairy Tail wizards.
"Open gate of the clock constellation, Horologium!" Lucy shouted as a tall brown grandfather clock with long black arms, a small face with slit eyes and a thin mustache with twirls at the end, a glass case, and a Roman numeral clock appears. Franky and Zoro widen their eyes when the spirit appeared as Luffy and Chopper stared at it in awe.
"Whoa, that's so cool!" Luffy shouted with stars in his eyes.
"Where did it come?" Chopper asked with stars in his eyes.
"I summoned it here." Lucy said proudly to the pirates. "I am a celestial wizard after all."
"Pleasure to meet your acquaintance, my name is Horologium." Horologium greeted the two pirates.
"It can talk?!" Luffy and Chopper shouted in shock and excitement. "That's awesome!"
"Why do I have the feeling like they're going to like for a while?" Franky asked Zoro and Robin.
"You'll get use to it." Zoro said.
"It is quite amusing." Robin said with a smile. The group then set off into the forest, hoping to find any that would help them find a way to break Galuna Island's curse.
"You really think that we'll another way to break the curse?" Natsu asked.
"We don't that much a choice." Gray said. "The village people may think the moon cursed but everyone else likes it. And destroying might mess things up."
"Really?!" Chopper asked shocked.
"You're right!" Natsu said. "If we didn't have the moon, the time is going to get all crazy. The sky's going to be pitch black!"
"The salmon will go existent and that's my favorite fish." Happy said.
"Seriously?!" Luffy shouted.
"What idiots." Zoro said under his breath as Robin chuckled in response.
"Would you guys keep it down?" Horologium said for Lucy, who was inside the celestial spirit. "'We don't know what's lurking around here so we draw attention to ourselves.' The lady demands impatiently."
"You got feet too, you know." Franky said to the celestial wizard. "You should walk on your own."
"He's right." Gray agrees. "You just summon your spirits because you're lazy."
"Listen, the curse is freaking me out and I'm scared." Lucy said inside of Horologium.
"She said nervously." Horologium concluded.
"Are you kidding?!" Natsu shouted. "This is awesome! S-Class quests rules!"
"Yeah!" Luffy shouted. "S-Class quests are awesome!"
"You don't know what he's talking about moron!" Zoro shouted at his captain.
"I bet I can freeze that stupid curse." Gray said.
"'You guys are idiots' she retorts despairingly." Horologium said for Lucy.
"Aye." Happy said in agreement.
"What was that?" Natsu asked as the group turns around to see what causing the ground to shake. Then they widen their eyes when they saw what caused the trembling. It was a giant beast in the shadows. "Whoa, what the…"
"It's huge!" Gray shouted.
"What the hell is that thing?" Franky asked.
"It's a monster!" Chopper shouted in fear.
"'What are you waiting for?'" Horologium said for Lucy. "'Beat it up you guys.' She yells franticly."
"Ice Make: Shield!" Gray said, using his ice magic to create a barrier to protect the group in the beast attacks. Luffy widen his eyes when he saw Gray's magic because he knows one person who use ice powers. That was the man who he lost to before sailing to Water 7, Aokiji. Inside of attacking, the beast released a gas from its mouth and surprised the group.
"'Oh no, what's going on?'" Horologium said for Lucy. Then said wizard noticed Happy inside the spirit with her. "'Did you just seriously sneak in here?' 'Aye,' Said the little blue cat." Then Horologium started to cough from inhaling the gas and disappeared, releasing Lucy and Happy.
"Stinky!" Lucy and Happy shouted in unison after smelling the gas themselves. The beast laughed at the group as stepped out the shadows and was revealed to be a giant rat wearing some kind of maid uniform.
"It's a rat!" Lucy shouted in fear.
"Come on, Natsu!" Gray shouted at Natsu, who was on the ground covering his nose. "Get up, man!"
"The smell knocked him out." Happy said.
"It did the same to Luffy." Chopper said, looking at Luffy who is also on the ground. The giant rat laughed as it approaches the group of pirates and wizards.
"Let's go!" Natsu shouted as the group started to run from the rat as it gives chase, attacking the group every chance it had.
"Ice Make: Floor!" Gray use his magic again, turning the ground to ice and making the rat slip and fall on it.
"You should've done that in the first place." Natsu said, irritating the ice wizard.
"Shut up, Natsu!" Gray said annoyed. Then he, Natsu, Luffy, Chopper, Zoro and Franky walked towards the rat and started beating it up. As the boys were beating up the giant rat, Robin and Lucy looked around and noticed a temple-like building not too far from where they are.
"Look, there's some of building over there." Lucy said, getting the group's attention.
"We still kick while we have the chance." Natsu said as the boy continue to beat the rat down.
"Give me a break." Lucy said with a sweat drop.
After a few minutes, the boys divided to stop attack the beast and the group went the building that Lucy and Robin. The building is called the Temple of the Moon.
"This place is massive." Lucy said as the group entered the temple and looked around.
"Yeah and it's falling apart." Franky said.
"I wonder how old it is." Gray said. Robin looked the carving imprinted of the walls and gotten interested about the temple's history as well.
"What are those?" Natsu asked looking the moon shaped carvings.
"They're moons." Gray answered. "It makes sense. Galuna used to be called the island of the moon."
"A moon island, a moon curse, and weird moon symbols, I wonder what all of this means." Lucy said.
"This place is a wreck. I mean this floor doesn't look safe to walk on." Natsu said stomping his foot on the floor.
"You know, you're right!" Luffy stomping his foot on the floor as well.
"Well don't go stomping on it!" Lucy said but it was too late. The two put their feet through the floor, causing it to collapse around the group and everyone was falling down the hole.
"You idiots, look at you've done!" Gray shouted as the group crashed to the ground.
"Hey is everybody ok?!" Luffy asked looking the group.
"I would be better if you two didn't knock out the floor!" Lucy shouted at the two.
"Here's a thought!" Gray shouted. "If you think before you wouldn't so cause destruction!"
"But it fun though." Luffy said with his trademark smile. "Let's do it again."
"No way!" Everyone expect Robin and Natsu shouted. The group looked up a hole that Luffy & Natsu made and saw how far they've fallen.
"Now what do we do?" Zoro asked.
"Can you fly us out of here, Happy?" Lucy asked.
"No, sorry." Happy said.
"We're underneath the temple." Robin said.
"Wow, it's a secret cave!" Natsu shouted excited, running into the cave. "This is cool, let's check it out!"
"Yeah, let's go!" Luffy shouted, following him.
"Would you two stop running around like crazy people?!" Gray shouted.
Luffy and Natsu continued to run the path to the inside of the cave and abruptly stopped when they saw something that appeared interesting to them.
"Whoa." Natsu said.
"Natsu, Luffy." Lucy said as the group finally caught with the two respective leaders.
"Hey guys, what's that?" Natsu asked.
"This thing looks familiar." Luffy said, trying to remembering when he saw the object before.
"You've seen it before?!" Then it finally came to Luffy as he turned the others.
"Hey guys, this is the thing I saw last night!" Luffy shouted. The group walked up and their eyes widen at they saw. It a huge monster with a large torso, large scaly hands, large legs with feet at the end that resembles a large bird and has a spike on the back, mane like hair that flows to his neck, a pair of horns pointing upwards, pointed teeth, and hollow eyes, encased in an ice prison.
"That's impossible." Gray said knowing what that monster is. The Fairy Tail wizards and the Straw Hats were visibly shaking at the sight of it. "That's Deliora!" Gray walked up to get closer look at the imprisoned monster. "But how…how could this happen?! Why is it here?! What the hell is it doing on Galuna Island?!"
"You've seen this creature before?" Robin asked the ice wizard.
"There's…no way…"
"Gray, please try and calm down." Lucy said, trying to cool Gray down. Gray's breathing came down and he looked up at Deliora again.
"Now, would you mind telling us what this thing is?" Franky asked.
"It's Deliora." Gray said. "The demon of destruction."
"Demon of construction?" Luffy asked, getting the name wrong.
"Destruction." Happy said, correcting him.
"Why is it here?" Gray asked. "It's doesn't make any sense." Then Robin heard some footsteps coming toward the group and she mentioned them to hide. The group saw two people walked towards their location. One was a tall man with orange hair, a dog like face, dog ears, and is wearing jeans. The other was shorter the dog face man, has blue hair, bushy eyebrows, wearing a green coat reaching to his knees, dark pants, and plain shoes.
"The voices seem to come from down here." The short man said and the dog face man growled in agreement as the two got close to Deliora. "I hate being awake during the day. So Toby, were you exposed to the Moon Drip. You got those pointy ears."
"I already told you!" The dog face man called Toby said. "It's a fashion statement, you jerk!"
"Oh button up, I was teasing you." The short man said.
"You don't have to be so mean about it."
"The Moon Drip?" Lucy whispered to herself. "Could that be the name of the curse?" Then she heard more footsteps heading towards the demon as well.
"Yuka, Toby, something terrible has happened." A new voice said as the owner approached the two newcomers. It was a woman with pink hair tied in ponytails, wearing a choker tied into a ribbon, a purple and pink short spaghetti dress with thin wings on the back, black leggings, and high heels.
"What now Sherry?" The short man called Yuka asked the woman.
"It's Angelica, she's been attacked and I'm sad." The woman called Sherry said, mentioning the giant rat.
"You're moping around because someone beat up your stupid pet rat!" Toby shouted at Sherry.
"She's not a rat." Sherry defended. "She's a brave hunter prowling the jungle to protect us. She is love."
The group looked the three newcomers, not knowing what to make of them other than being weird and they could have something to do with the island's curse.
"I don't know who these people are but talk about a bunch of weirdoes, especially the chick with the pet rat." Lucy whispered.
"Judging by the scent I picked up from them, they're not the island." Natsu said.
"And they don't look like they have the demon's curse." Happy added.
"The question is what are they doing here and what's their connection to the curse." Robin said.
"Intruders, you say?" Yuka questioned.
"Yes and it's almost time to collect the moon light again." Sherry said. "Oh this makes me so sad. This news will displease the cold emperor. We should get rid of them before he finds out. Yes, we must find them before the moon's first light."
"Agreed." Yuka said.
"Since they've seen Deliora, we can't allow them to live." Sherry said. "We'll give them the gift of eternal rest. We'll give them love."
"You're talking about death, right?" Toby asked confused. Then the three heard a noise like a pebble was thrown.
"What was that?" Sherry said.
"This way…" Yuka said as he and his two partners left to find the source of the noise.
"Nice going, Robin." Lucy said.
"Come on, we could've grab them and beat some answer out of them." Natsu said.
"Not yet, we need to do some investigating." Robin said.
"Man! This job getting more and more complicated." Natsu complained.
"Who is this cold emperor guy?" Happy asked.
"Deliora." Gray replied. "I still don't understand about anyone would want with it. And how the hell were they able to find it?"
"Was it hidden somewhere?" Lucy asked.
"It was sealed away, inside a glacier in the northern continent. A decade ago, some mortal demon ravage his spawn and countless people their lives. The woman who taught how to use my magic, my master, Ur, sacrificed everything and sealed it away." Gray balled his fist in anger. "I don't know it had anything to do with the curse on this island. But I do know that doesn't belong here. This cold emperor, we have to find him and find out who it is. If they tarnish my master's legacy, they're regret the day they were born!"
