Chapter eleven- Christmas

As they entered December the weather turned extremely cold. Alice's arm had healed by the second week in November. Hermione, Ron, and Harry were still working on the transformation potion in secret. Alice will do whatever it took to keep Jasper safe. She will stop her vision from coming true even if she has to let him get petrified later in the year. As long as she has him for Christmas that is all the she cares about.

Snow started to fall out of the sky. It fell onto the ground like a soft fleece blanket covering the ground. One day in mid December Alice was walking back to Gryffindor tower when she ran into Hagrid. "Hello Alice."

"Hi, Hagrid. How are you doing?"

"Fine. I 've found another rooster dead this morning. I need to ask Dumbledore if I can put a charm around the chicken coop."

They said goodbye to each other. She continued on. All of a sudden she tripped over a frozen body on the ground. To her relief it wasn't Jasper. The boy had a yellow tie so she knew that it was a Hufflepuff. She only knew the boy's first name, Justin. She looked up and saw that Nick was hovering a few feet from Justin. She decided to get out of there before anyone else comes.

She finally reached the portrait hole. "Password?"

"Wattlebird." The portrait hole swung open. She climbed through the hole. As soon as she looked up she saw Jasper. She ran up to him and hugged him as tightly as she could. "Thanks goodness you're alright."

"Alice, are you alright?"

"I am now. My vision changed, but you will still be petrified after we choose next electives for next year. I was just so scared that I was going to find you stiff and frozen on the ground somewhere."

"Ali, you will be fine without me for a couple of months, I promise you. Just look at me and memorize my face. By the way what classes do you want to take next year?"

Alice stared at Jasper's face for a while. She knew that she would be able to remember what his face looks like exactly. "I was thinking Ancient Ruins and Arithmancy." She kept on staring right into Jasper's face. She held out her hand and he took it straight away. Right now they would only be very best friends and maybe by the end of the year they could begin to go out. She won't forget the softness of his honey blond hair or his blue eyes.

Jasper felt sadness radiating off of Alice. "Ali, are you okay? Why do you feel so sad?"

"Jazz, I'll just miss you so much. Do you think that we can sign up for classes for next year early?"

Before he could answer, however, the portrait hole swung open once again. This time Harry climbed through the hole. He had a grim expression on his face. Did he find Justin as well? He stared at both Jasper and Alice and wondered if something was going on between them. "Alice, what is going on?"

"I heard that voice again and there has been another attack."

"So did I and then I had to go up to Dumbledore's office. This time it is Justin Finch-Fletchly." He took a breath before he explained what he saw. Harry didn't exactly know about Alice's eidetic memory. For some strange reason he was never told.

Alice was still wearing her special necklace and having panic attacks every now and then. Alicia's little sister Hope was also in Gryffindor. She was doing just fine with her hearing aids in her ears. Jasper watched Alice as she went quiet. She was having another panic attack. She hadn't had one for most of the semester. "Alice, you need to breathe for me. Take a deep breath, Ali. You know that I hate it when you go into panic attack mode."

After a few minutes she came out of it. "Jazz, what happened?"

"You had a panic attack, Ali." She looked at him with scared eyes. Even though Jasper sent her a wave of calm; she was still slightly scared. "Are you alright, Ali?"

"I think so, Jazz. Why did I have a panic attack now?"

"I believe that you were terrified that something will happen to me, so you had a panic attack."

Alice knew that he was right. She also knew that she'd lose him sometime this year until the potion is ready. She will watch her visions every single day if she has to. Harry finally left to go up to his dormitory leaving Jasper and Alice alone. He took her hand and squeezed it as gently as he could. He didn't want her to be scared one little bit. She knew that he really cared about her. Somehow she wanted to let him know that she cared for him very much. He did know that she cared for him, but he thinks that he loves her.

The Christmas holidays began soon after. Most of the school went home, but some stayed behind. Alice knew that Hermione, Ron, and Harry would up to something. They were planning on doing it during Christmas night. Alice did have a quick vision about what her friends were planning. She didn't think that it was a good idea, but she had to let them make their own decisions. She hoped that they didn't find anything out.

When Christmas day came a few days later, Alice had gotten a very special gift from Jasper. She had gotten some chocolate frogs from Ron. She had gotten some books from her brother. Mrs. Weasley gave her a red sweater with a golden A on it and some fudge. Hermione gave Alice a book about ancient ruins. The special gift from Jasper was a hairclip. He also gave her some chocolate and pumpkin pasties.

Later that day, Alice and Jasper headed down to the great hall for the Christmas feast. They were one of the first ones there. Her brother showed up with Ron and Hermione soon after. Alice had never had a better feast at Christmastime including last year. Within two hours or so the feast was finally over. "Ready to head back to the common room, Jazz?"

"Of course, I am Alice. Where did Hermione, Ron, and Harry go?"

"Probably to do what ever they were planning to do. Come on let's get going."

"How are your legs doing, Ali?"

Alice sighed before answering. "They are doing fine. Luckily I haven't gotten angry at anyone lately."

Once they got to the common room, Jasper took Alice's hand and led her to the couch in front of the fire. He sat her down and began to stroke her black silky hair. Later that evening Ron and Harry came back without Hermione. Jasper stood up and helped Alice up. "Where is Hermione?"

"Well, she is sort of a cat now."

Finally the friends went to bed, Alice in the girls dormitory and the three boys headed to their own dormitory. They spent the rest of the holidays visiting, Hermione in the hospital wing, having fun with Fred and George and their friends, and finishing up their homework.

Please Review. I don't own Twilight or Harry Potter. I only own original characters and the plot. I don't know how long it will be until the next update because I'll be busy with school.
