Chapter 11: The start

Yuzuru P.O.V.

It was after school. Because this was the first day he transferred here, he had to go to teachers' office, asking for assignments teachers had ordered before he transferred here.

Of course, he really would like to ignore that for now and go home together with Kanade since this was the first day of his school life with her. But he had promised his father that he wouldn't let this issue affect his conduct at school and he had to keep it.

After he came back to his class, Kanade had already gone. He sighed and thinking what to do now. While he was thinking about it someone talked to him.

"Umm… Hello, Otonashi-san", the voice came from behind him.

"Yes, umm… you are…" He turned back to face the source of the voice.

"I-I am Taichi Sayoko, Kanade's friend", the beautiful girl introduced herself.

"Ah, I see. So what would you like to talk about Taichi-san", Yuzuru smiled.

"Umm… you see…" While she was trying to finish her word, Yuzuru was thinking about something.

'So she is Kanade's friend, huh? Might as well ask her about how Kanade was doing in this life. So first, what I should do is…'

"Ah, do you still have any business here? If not, how about we go home together today?" Yuzuru disturbed her word.

"E-Eh… a-are you sure, Otonashi-san?" The girl named Taichi Sayoko said; seem to panic a bit.

"Why not? Oh, and you can just call me Otonashi or Yuzuru. I don't mind"

"Eh! Would that really be a good idea?"

"Yes, so how about it, are you free?"

The girl seemed to be fidget for a while, because of what, Yuzuru wasn't sure of, before she accepted.

"All right, shall we go then, Taichi-san?" Yuzuru smiled as they both exited the school gate.

"Y-yes, p-please take care of me", Taichi awkwardly replied.

As they walked out of the school gate, Yuzuru still smiling and thinking about something at the time.

'Such a good opportunity, even though I couldn't go home together with Kanade, I can ask a lot of things about her with her friend.' He thought.

Unfortunately, his company didn't seem to be feeling the same as he was.

Sayoko P.O.V.

The word "nervous" would be an understatement for what she was feeling now. "What the heck" would be another barely useable word.

'I mean, what the hell is going on? Isn't this mission is just talk to Kanade's boyfriend, ask him to go home with, he reject the offer, and they both live happily ever after?'

She sighed mentally before continued her thought.

'So how the hell does thing end up like this?'

She could have continued this thought for hours if not for the interrupted her mission's target made.

"Hmm… should we stop by some cafés, or do you have any business to attend to, and want to go home quickly?"

He talked to her as they made their way pass the school gate.

"Ah, yes. I do have time"

"That's good then, so which café you want to go?"

"The one near the train station is fine."

She answered absent-minded, still lost in her thought.

But after she finished her word, she realized that she made yet another mistake.

'Oh, no! Why the hell didn't I reject him?! Now the situation is getting even more complicated!"

She thought this as she put both of her hands to her head and silently groaned in regret.

And then she heard the laugher coming from beside her so she turned her head to the source of the laughter.

"Ha ha ha, sorry, sorry, you acted so funny so I just can't help it." He said as he was trying to suppress the laugh.

"So… what's wrong?" He asked her with a smile after he stopped laughing.

"No, it's… Never mind!' She outburst in embarrassed.

'Ah, that's so embarrassing. And why the hell does my heart is beating so fast? Do I maybe…'

She shook her head.

'No, no, that can't be happening. He is Kanade's boyfriend, and I still love that clueless, good-for-nothing, but kind idiot! Ah, but why his smile is so beautiful, I wonder?'

She started to blush as she thought about that last thought.

They continued walking to the café as they were exchanging this awkward conversation. (Or at least, it was a one-sided awkward conversation for her.)

Kanade P.O.V.

She was the most emotionless girl in the school. So much emotionless that people called her cool (Kuu) typed girl. But this sure was the first time her classmates had ever seen her display so much emotions.

To say that she was frustrated would be an understatement. Her emotions were getting worse and worse, to the point that her classmates saw her shaking.

Some of the classmates in front of her in their mission, still continued talking, not notice how she had changed.

"He sure is a lady-killer, eh? To take Sayoko to a café on they first met like that."

One of the boys said in a sarcasm tone, as Yuzuru and Sayoko entered the café.

"Yes, yes, like I said, there isn't such a perfect guy anywhere."

One of the unpopular girls also said in agreement.

"Hey, hey, will you guys stop talking already? Tachibana-san doesn't feeling well, you know."

One of the girls, who saw Kanade shaking, spoke in an anxiety tone.

The guys, who were talking, turned back to look at Kanade, and their facial expression changed to that of a paled one.

"W-We were just kidding, you don't have to be so anxious, Tachibana-san. Isn't that right, you guys?"

"Y-Yes"

"N-No, I'm fine. Don't worry about me. We all agreed to do this, right?"

Any conviction in her word was lost, because of the shaking that continued to happen even when she said this and her stutter tone of voice.

In her mind, it felt with negative thoughts.

'Yuzuru won't do this to me, right? He said he love me after all. Isn't that right, isn't that right, isn't that right? Yes, that's it, that's it, that's it. But if it is so, why did he invite Sayoko to a café like that? Why? Why? Why? Why? WHY?!'

Mie, who observed Kanade, thought

'This is bad. If it still continues like that, Tachibana will break.'

Mie sighed mentally, before continued thinking of the way out.

'Honestly, I didn't expect this to happen. I just thought that Haruka's plan was just some stupid thing that would soon fail. Is the data I collected on this new transfer student was that wrong? What should I do to help her? Let's use the information I collected to find out!'

And then, she picked the "Data book" out of her pocket.

'Let's see, Tachibana's information is…"

And so, this awkwardly and confusing situation continued.

Well, I'm really sorry for taking a long break, real life is just too much for me to overcome. So please don't expect me to update the following of the following chapter as quick as it will be in the following chapter.

And well, I also plan to edit the first 3 Chapters, because the grammars there can't be any worst. So is anyone volunteer to help me? (I can't really ask for the beta, right? But a helping hand would be awesome.)
