One date with Harry had led to another and another and before Draco knew what was happening, he was spending all of his free time, what little of it he had, with Harry. He wasn't really sure how it had all happened but as he laid, half on his couch and half on Harry's chest, reading one of his law books, he couldn't really find the energy to analyze it. It had become easier and easier to be around Harry each time they had seen each other, which Draco was immensely grateful for because really Harry was a phenomenal kisser.
The doorbell rang and Draco grumbled as Harry nudged him over so that he could get up to get the food they had ordered. Draco put his book down on the coffee table and moved so that he was effectively taking up the entire couch when Harry returned with the bag of food.
"So this is what's happening now? You're just going to take the whole couch?" Harry asked a small smile on his lips.
Draco nodded, "yup".
"Fine" Harry said. "More egg rolls for me" Harry began to move away from the couch with the bag but Draco quickly shot up and grabbed his arm before he could make it more than a step.
"Hey! No fair, at least half of those eggrolls are mine."
Harry chuckled and moved back towards Draco. "You want egg rolls, I want my seat. Deal?"
Draco pouted but moved over far enough for Harry to sit down. "Fine".
Harry laughed again and once he had sat down he leaned over and kissed Draco quickly on the lips before taking their food containers out and placing them on the table in front of them.
"Jenny! Food's here!" Draco shouted as he picked up a set of chopsticks and a container filled with beef and broccoli.
Jenny came out grabbed a random container and went back to her room, barely acknowledging the two boys. Neither Draco nor Harry took much offense to the action. Midterms were starting up and all three of them were beginning to feel the stress of the time. Draco and Harry had agreed that they would take one day to relax and hangout before they had to fully ignore the existence of the outside world and enter crunch mode. They now had 5 hours left in their relaxation day.
"So," Harry said between a mouth full of food, "I've already promised to go home after midterms. My mum's expecting me to be there Saturday, but I was thinking I could put her off for a day or two, and maybe we could spend the weekend together."
Draco's eyebrow raised at the mention of Harry having a mother, but he quickly brought it down. This was the first time Harry had ever mentioned his family to Eric so he knew he couldn't really react.
"I wouldn't want you to change your plans on my account. I wouldn't want your mum mad at me for you putting her off." Draco said.
Harry cocked a smile. "Nah she won't mind. Just about everyone's going to be home at some point that week, so it'll be a full house. She'll barely even notice I'm not there."
Draco picked up his empty glass from the table and gestured to Harry asking if he wanted a refill as well. Harry shook his head and Draco moved onto the kitchen. "So you've got a big family then?" Draco asked. He already knew that Harry was talking about the Weasley's but Eric wasn't meant to know that so he decided to ask anyway.
"Yeah, sort of." Harry said. Draco noticed Harry's tone change a bit, getting more serious. "They're my adoptive family actually." Draco looked back at Harry from his spot in the kitchen. Even from here he could see that Harry was uncomfortable admitting to that. "My uh, my birth parents died when I was a baby, Molly and Arthur, my mum and dad, adopted me, they had 7 kids of their own, 6 brothers and one sister, so yeah, it's a big family."
"Wow" was all Draco could say. Everyone had known that Harry and Ron were nearly inseparable and that Harry had practically been a member of the Weasley clan, but actually hearing Harry talk about them as his adoptive family was odd to say the least. It was obviously a very personal topic for him and Draco suddenly felt the need to comfort him in some way.
Draco made his way back to the couch and sat down a bit closer to Harry, putting a hand on his leg. "Sounds like a mad house."
Harry smiled, "Absolutely."
"In that case I think it's best you have a few recovery days before heading into all that."
Harry gave Draco another kiss and then went back to eating for a bit. The silence between them was short lived. "So what about you? Big family?" Harry eventually asked.
"None actually." Draco said it, as though it was the most usual thing in the world.
"None?" Harry asked, trying very hard not to sound as though he was prying.
"No, my parents died a few years before I started here, car accident." It was a full out lie. Both of Draco's parents were both technically still alive, mother still living in prison and father worse than dead withering away without a soul in Azkaban. He had often wished that they were dead and when he became Eric Abrax, he had easily killed them off in his world.
"I'm so sorry" Harry said.
"It's alright. It's been a long time," Draco said.
"Still, you never really forget them do you?"
Draco didn't say anything, just nodded his head in agreement. "So on a less depressing topic. What are you planning on telling your mum to get out of going home for a few days?"
"I'm sure I'll think of something." Harry said smiling again. "After all I think I've got a pretty good reason to stay."
