Chapter 10:
Nico POV:
We appeared in front of the doors of the throne room and after reluctantly letting each other go we went straight inside. The gods and other immortals were already assembled and waiting for us to arrive so we could start discussing our plan of action. I wanted to get this meeting started so I could find out what had Percy out of bed so early. While waiting for Percy to speak Athena opened her mouth.
"I suggest we visit the gateway to Tartarus and see how he has managed to escape again."
"That would be completely useless." Percy said calmly.
"And why is that?" Hera jumped in.
"Because it's too late for that. Kronos has already found a body and is planning to break into Camp Half-Blood by stealing the golden fleece. He has already found a way to get himself and the minotaur past the camp's boundaries so he is probably planning to attack with a large army." Percy said and instantly the whole room erupted into chaos.
"How did he get past the boundaries?"
"How do you know this?"
"What happened to the minotaur?"
"How did we not sense his uprising earlier?" The questions battered Percy from all sides of the room, everybody wanting to know all that happened all at once.
"Oi! Shut the fuck up!" I yelled. The questions were annoying the shit out of me, Chaos knows what they were doing to Percy. "If you can keep your traps shut for more than a few minutes he will explain himself." I felt the wave of appreciation Percy sent my way through our bond. The gods had shut up now and were waiting for Percy to tell them how he knew everything. I too was curious but honestly I didn't care that much. I just wanted to get this over with so we could go back home.
Percy POV:
I told them about this morning's events leaving out me and Nico's extracurricular activities. The room was engulfed in silence for a few minutes when I was done, giving the gods time to allow the new information sink in.
"So what do we do?" Artemis asked breaking the silence.
"We wait. We guard the fleece day and night and when Kronos makes his move we take him out." Noone seemed to want to argue with me and they all nodded their heads accepting my leadership. Something struck me as odd about that fact. Ian at least should have protested. Then I took a closer look at the people around me and noticed that he wasn't here and neither was Annabeth.
"Where are Annabeth and Ian?" Nico asked as if reading my thoughts, which wasn't that uncommon between us.
"They didn't come out of their rooms this morning and the last I saw them they were sucking each others faces off, so we let them be." Thalia said.
That was weird. If me and Nico could manage to pry ourselves apart they would most certainly be able to. Something was wrong. A deep feeling of unease was settling into my gut and then I thought of one of the questions the gods had asked.
"How did we not sense his uprising earlier?" True the gods were not infallible, far from it, but they weren't fools. They would have noticed Kronos rising again, unless someone close to them was deliberately pulling the wool over their eyes. Who was close enough to do that? Someone in this room probably... or someone who is supposed to be in this room.
Annabeth and Ian.
"Shit!"
