A/N) I don't know why, but I decided to really focus heavily on hate. As you may remember Hyrule is not exactly brimming with love for homosexuals. I decided to touch on hate and how it can affect people. Especially with one who is already suffering with a low self esteem due to upbringing. I got a bit heavy with Link and Sheik towards feelings and then they get heavy in a sexual sense but nothing too detailed! Also I know I said it was going to be boring for awhile, but yeah...some stuff happened. I don't regret it! The ideas just poured in.
"Sheiky," Hero had apparently taken a page out of Anji's book "stop being such a Deku stick in the mud. This is our engagement dinner, and your birthday, that we are planning."
"With pieces of our wedding, I know." Sheik said, crossing his arms over his chest.
They were sitting in Zelda's study with the princess, and discussing engagement and wedding details. Sheik was clearly agitated that Link and his ideas, for a small intimate affair, were clearly being denied. Link handled it in stride, Sheik handled it in anger.
Zelda threw her hands up "Alright, big engagement ball disguised as a birthday, small intimate wedding, giant after party?"
"I don't want big anything!" Sheik yelled in annoyance.
"Watch your tone with the Princess." Impa growled. She was standing with her back pressed against the wall.
"Impa, it's fine. Calm down." Zelda said calmly.
"My apologies princess. I just want a small get together. People already stare when they see our matching rings." Sheik sighed.
"Let's just shout out to Hyrule our love. I don't care what people say or think. I will have my husband, my son, and my family that love and support us!" Link said with a goofy grin "I saved all of them more than once! I am the Hero of time. They won't hate me forever."
"Yeah, and I am a scum of the earth Sheikah! I couldn't put you through all that hate, Link. You are too innocent for that."
"I'm not a child Sheik, I think I could handle it."
"And what of Nolan? When people tease him for having two fathers."
"He will beat the crap out of them." Zelda said.
"Zelda is right." Link said. "Nolan and I are strong enough to ignore other people and their discrimination against us."
Sheik sighed. He wasn't agreeing, but he also wasn't disagreeing. He remained neutral. Sure, he'd love to profess to everyone, that out of every available person the Hero had come in contact with during his vast travels, the man had chosen him. In a way, that was an honor. For the hero to ignore beautiful women, handsome men, (including his cousin) and even a princess, was incredible. A Sheikah, was who the Hero had chosen. Link had chosen Sheik, and across time lines and time paradoxes, Sheik had chosen Link.
"Sheikah are not scum, nephew. People may call us such, but there words mean nothing. They only mean something if you let them bother you. You deserve the Hero, he deserves you, to hell with what others may think." Impa stated firmly.
"I agree completely, but some people are born to hate." Sheik said
"But there are people in the world who can be swayed, or at least understanding. Think of this: how many of my citizens are living in fear because they are homosexual? How many people would gain the courage to be themselves, when they find out the Hero married a man? How a many people, who feels hopeless or lonely, will gain faith from seeing that he is in love with a Sheikah? You guys could rewrite history even more than you already have." Zelda said, standing up in excitement.
Link smiled hopefully at Sheik. The small boy rolled his eyes "I need time to think about this." It was true. Sheik knew he was gay, he never even looked at other women. Maybe the princess, but she was unattainable and off limits. (Later, he learned the affection he felt for her, was completely platonic. She was like a big sister to him.) But he didn't exactly want to scream it off the rooftops. Sure, he would love to hold Link's hand in public, but he didn't want people in his business, or to question who he was in love with. Most of all, he didn't want gorgeous people of all genders to show Link what he could be with. Sheik wasn't exactly a stunning beauty to write home about, he knew that. Somehow, he managed to snag a good looking, kind-hearted, Hero of Time, and he didn't want to lose that. He knew the thought was foolish. He and Link were made for one another, but if someone created by the Goddesses, such as Kiehs, could fall in love with someone else, was something like that possible for them? They were only human.
As if sensing Sheik's thoughts, as Link was prone to doing, Link stood "Let's take a break. Make sure his birthday is done up in navy blue and black, and that you fit strawberries into everything from food to sweets. Come on Sheik."
Zelda nodded and stretched "We will continue this later."
Sheik smiled while he was pulled by Link. He always just knew, and understood. It was amazing, how Link had picked up on his emotions and his needs. When they arrived at their shared room, Link turned to face Sheik. His small boyfriend looked so cute without his normal clothing on. He was wearing a blue shirt that clung to his body, and a pair or khaki trousers. "What's wrong?"
Sheik shook his head "Nothing."
"You're lying, and I know it. Your brows were furrowed, and you have a frown on your uncovered face. Your eyes look sad."
"It's nothing, Link."
Link moved quickly, and picked Sheik up, pulling him close to his chest. Sheik squeaked, and wrapped his arms and legs around the tall blonde. Link cuddled Sheik tightly "It's not nothing. Listen, I love you more than anything in the whole universe. I won't do anything to make you sad. Don't close up, Sheik. You are a person with thoughts and opinions, tell them to me."
Sheik couldn't suppress it, and his bottom lip quivered. He buried himself into Link's shoulder "I don't deserve you."
"Sheik! Don't ever say that again! If anything, I don't deserve you. When I proposed, I was terrified you would say no! I'm a big, burly, dummy hero! You are a smart, quick, strong, wonderful, perfect, Sheikah."
Sheik chuckled "You exaggerate way too much, but I love you for it."
"Take as long as you need to be comfortable with whatever." Link ran his hands down Sheik's back, and grabbed his firm backside.
Sheik jumped, and manged to get out of Link's arms "Always my butt, why?"
Link grabbed Sheik by the arm, and flung him onto the bed. He quickly straddled his waist "Because my future husband has such a tight, and firm backside."
Sheik smiled. He unclipped Link's belt, wormed his fingers up Link's tunic, and trailed his fingertips down his back "Oh, I do? And what does the hero plan to do about that?"
Link shuddered in delight. He leaned down to nibble on a pointed ear before whispering "Prove my undying love, and devotion to him."
Sheik looked up in to deep pools of blue that shone with love, care, and a hint of lust. He leaned up to capture Link's soft lips with his own. Link moaned in to the kiss, and grabbed Sheik's hands. He linked their fingers together, and pinned the delicate hands down. He broke away from the kiss, and then trailed soft kisses down Sheik's jaw. He began sucking and biting on his neck, making the Sheikah writhe in delight.
"Link..." Sheik breathed out.
The hero stripped off his tunic, and tossed it to the floor, while Sheik scrambled to pull his shirt off.
The hero was truly going to prove his love and devotion, by making love to his Sheikah.
Nayroedin, younger brother to the Goddesses, and a Great Fairy who bore the Triforce of Control, had finally found his fountain. Now, he spent almost all his time in there, decorating it to his liking. He decided that he would have to get all the belongings he had from the Goddesses. He brought the mirror with him, and waved his hand over it to start a connection.
"Hello sweetheart." Nayru said, as she appeared in the mirror. Her voice was like a soft wave.
"Hello sister. I have found a fountain to my liking. The Princess showed me the one under the castle. I didn't even know it existed."
"I knew spending time with the Hero and his family would prove useful. This is wonderful news. Congratulations. Whenever you are ready, we will break the bonds, and release your full magic."
"Oh, I never thought of that. I guess whenever. I'll be laid up in bed for a few days. I know everyone will be able to protect the castle."
"You are in great hands. I am only sad that much magic is going to put you in extreme amounts of pain."
"I'll be alright. I am requesting entrance into the Sacred Realm later, to retrieve my belongings."
"Permission granted, love. Come whenever you wish, little brother. I will alert Din and Farore."
"Thanks. I love you guys."
"We love you too. Congratulations on your fountain." And then mirror went blank.
Nay sighed happily. All was good. Then, a bit of movement by then fountain, caught his eye. The water rippled, and began to glow a faint blue. He quirked a brow, and walked to the middle of the room, where the water was. It rippled with a pulse again. "What is that?" He asked out loud, and tapped one of his booted feet. He pooled magic into his hand, and dipped his fingers into the water. The glowing water swirled violently, and rippling pain erupted on his forehead. Immediately, his thoughts were filled with images of the Kokiri forest being ransacked. A brave child getting impaled on a sword, and Saria being dragged out screaming for help. Nay collapsed for an undetermined amount of time, but when he came too he snapped his fingers, and arrived in the princesses room. Thank Goddess she was up and reading.
"Nay, what are you doing here?" She asked.
"The Kokiri forest. I had a vision, or I saw what happened. The sage is in danger!" He yelled. His voice was shakey.
Zelda was up in an instant, slipping on a pair of slippers. Nathaniel opened the door for her "I informed Lady Impa, and she is on her way to wake the hero." He told her.
"Good, go get everyone in their party awake, and we will meet in my study."
Nathaniel left in a flash.
The princess turned back to Nayroedin, and grabbed his hand squeezing it tight. The fairy's violet eyes were pouring tears, and his body was shaking "It's alright. There there." She cooed to him "Let's get you some tea."
He sniffled and nodded "Yes, your majesty."
