Sorry for not updating. Another block.
Void's POV:
I kept my distance after telling her who I really am, and I'm glad I did. She was uneasy and wanted to be alone. So, when I made it back to camp, I packed up my tent and left. However, a new thought worked its way into my mind as I left the camp.
Now what?
Brenna's POV:
When I learned that Shadow and Light were a lie, I just broke down on the inside. Whenever I looked at "Void", I saw Shadow. Whenever he saw me, I saw Light. He kept his distance, gladly. However, I just ran up to my parents and stopped. They must of detected my feelings or something because they comforted me as I broke down like a five year old who didn't get her toy. My mom stated, "Look at it this way. He is still alive." My dad just comforted me.
My boyfriend... No. My ally... No. My partner? My best friend? No... My Shadow... He's gone, forever...
I must of spoken out loud because my parents hugged me while my mom spoke, "I had a comrade named Luke. He sacrificed himself to save Olympus, back then." My dad added, "Titans versus Gods... Always wondered what happened to that flying pig." A new voice joked, "Maybe it ended up becoming Kentucky friend pork chops." I looked to see Void standing at the entrance. He asked, "May I come in?" I only looked away as my parents let him in.
I didn't dare look at him as he sat next to me while my parents went out.
Void's POV:
I now struggled with my options of what to do. I can show her my past, but what is there to show? I can start a conversation with what I have in my pocket, but that may make her more upset. We can start over, but I don't see a reason for doing so. Ether way, I wanted to clear things up and not make anything worst.
I was deep in thought, and was frightened when something touched my shoulder. I looked to see Brenna with an amused look on her face. A son of Chaos, frightened by a simple tap on his shoulder. I managed to smile sheepishly and ask, "What?" She answered, "What were you thinking about?" I replied while looking around, "I was thinking about what I could say that won't make this situation worst." "Define "Worst"." We both laughed at the comment.
After laughing, she asked, "So, how did you become "Shadow" and "Light"?" I asked, "Won't you be a little sad? I mean, with everything that has happened..." She nodded and spoke, "Tell me." I took a deep breath and began, "It started four years before you found me..."
Flashback
I was running away from a mad woman. I was starving and took some bread. Okay, I stole it. Four loaves to be precise. She seemed to follow my every move, and knew where I went. I managed to eat one loaf on the run, and not starve. But all of a sudden I froze still, like a statue. The woman walked up to me and spoke as she took the loaves back, "You, boy, have the hunger of two, and the mind of two different boys as well. Due to you being a threat, Zeus wants me to split you in two. One side will be cold and blunt, while the other will be fierce and reckless." He got some sort of stick out and spoke, "May you never see the light of day again, and always hide in the shadows!" I screamed in pain as I felt myself being split in two and forced together into a different body. When I looked at myself in the window, I was a completely different person. Just then, I heard something.
Police Sirens.
I quickly got up and ran away.
End of Flashback
Brenna's POV:
I only stared at him with wide eyes. Shadow was forced to not be himself? Even I find that cruel! I spoke to him, "So you couldn't be yourself..." He nodded and explained, "After that, I managed to be myself, once in a while. That time I kissed you, that time I went to London, I was slowly being myself as "Shadow." I thought I could tell you the truth and have you help me break the curse, after the war. Funny how everything turned out." I only nodded at the statement. He continued to tell me how everything went for him, and I did the same in return. I lost track of time as we talked, and before I knew it, Void got up and said while pressing something in my hand, "Brenna, I need to leave. This was something I bought before the war, and, I don't think it'll be a perfect present later on." He said jokingly while bowing, "Till we meet again, Princess Jackson." He then vanished without a trace.
When it was midnight, I looked at what he gave me. It was a small box. I opened it and when I saw what was inside, I nearly cried on the spot. Even the words inside made me happy. If I see Void again, I will answer the question of the box. Just then, I heard a knocking at my window. I looked and nearly jumped out of it due to Void being there. I opened the window as he asked, "Well?" I smiled and, with tears in my eyes, I answered while bringing him close, "Yes!" He smiled and closed the gap between us, making me have the happiest moment of my life yet.
The next day...
Third Person POV:
Percy and Thalia waked to Brenna's room. Percy asked, "You think she's still sad?" Thalia replied, "Quite possibly." "I don't think she's over Shadow." "Maybe she found someone else." They entered the room and was shocked, but smiled at the scene. Brenna was hugging Void while they slept. The parents tucked them in and left the room.
On Brenna's desk, a small box laid open. On Brenna's right hand, an elegant ring made of imperial gold and silver is worn on her ring finger. The two sleepy heads had smiles on their faces.
And on the inside the box, the words that made the girl happy were written on the inside with golden letters.
Will you marry me?
g83: And that's how you end a story, maybe.
Void: So, that's it?
g83: Not quite. I have one last idea up my sleeve that will make this better.
Brenna: What?
g83: "Tier 15." (I'm still a virgin, BTW.)
Thalia: *twitches* I'm too young to be a grandma!
Percy: *hands her a chair*
g83: *eyes widen* Oh god, not titanium! *gets knocked out due to a hitting Jackson*
Void: Um... Review?
Ghost83, here. Seriously, I'm running low on ideas. I've been working on X Numbers and other stories. Give me a break!
