Disclaimer: I don't own Doctor Who...otherwise...BBC America would be showing more Copper! And Ripper Street...it's got my husband (as the main character)
Chapter 11
Gwen stood to the side of the UNIT lock-up watching as the Doctor used his sonic. She knew the man was impressive and a friendly alien, but she didn't care much for Jack always ditching them. Though, she supposed she was happy Jack had finally found his Doctor that he spent years talking up. Even, if the Doctor was a scrawny human-looking alien. The temporary UNIT lock-up was located an hour outside of Cardiff. It was a giant warehouse lock up that had crates stacked around in, what she hoped, was some kind of order. Not far from the door was a metal drop down ladder that lead to the metal upper floor. There was another door that had an electronic lock on the outside of it as well.
It started with the lights flickering.
Than a breeze that shouldn't exist inside room.
"Doctor?" Gwen called out, her hands on her gun as she turned to observe the room. The spiky haired alien hadn't moved from his spot underneath the ship (when he got there Gwen hadn't noticed). "We've got company." He slid from underneath the ship, his sonic in between his teeth and green tinted goo on his normal pristine suit. The raven haired woman turned around in time to watch the Doctor tuck his sonic into his trouser pocket and remove his jacket. She watched as he ran a finger through the goo. He sniffed it before licking it.
Gwen knew she was going to be telling Martha not to kiss the alien. "Did you just lick alien slime?!" And she considered warning Jack, but she knew her boss wouldn't care either way.
"It's actually sodium thiopental." He informed her as he scrunched his face up in distaste. "Nasty stuff."
"Is that used as fuel then?" Gwen asked gesturing to the ship. Her eyes had caught movement not far from a set of crates in a far back corner. "In the future I mean."
The Doctor shook his head. "No, which means it comes from something, or someone, forcing themselves into the ship's system." He thrust his suit jacket into Gwen's arms. "Right then, remind me to ask Jenny where she last stopped." Reaching into his trouser pocket he pulled his sonic out and aimed for the far corner.
"I don't think I like you." Gwen muttered as she found her hands covered in slime that she happily wiped on the alien's jacket.
"We're going to need to analysis that goo later so do not drop it." He warned her apparently not hearing her statement.

The door to the TARDIS opened quietly. Mickey didn't consider his time with the Doctor as the greatest thing to happen to him. It had its perks though and as he caught sight of Martha Jones moving about the TARDIS thinking, she was considered a perk. A strong woman that could hold her own against the aliens of the universe, she was perfect. Mickey would be lying if he said his interest in Martha hadn't been purely physical- at first. However, the more he spoke with her the more he realized she was a brilliant woman and only an idiot would reject her. Which, Mickey being honest with his self, had thought the Doctor was probably the biggest idiot in the universe.
He wouldn't even start on how stupid he thought Rose was.
Torchwood's temporary tech specialist walked up the ramp of the console a pizza box in hand. "Doctor Jones!" The woman in question paused in her writing to glance up. She smiled at the handsome man, "Food for a brilliant woman."
Martha laughed, "More like for uni students working on a paper."
"How is the search going?" Mickey asked watching as Martha gathered the files and books she had been working on. Martha cracked her knuckles and turned to face him. He half expected her to start speaking to him as if he were stupid.
It was probably because he was on the TARDIS again.
"It's crazy. The TARDIS knows something is in the blood stream. She even told me what it is." Martha started pacing, she looked bothered. "The books I knacked from the library mentioned it as being similar to thiopental in effects." She crossed her arms while Mickey leaned back against the railing watching with intrigue and amusement. "Now, normally thiopental in small doses it's typically used as an anesthetic. Humans aren't bothered, but somehow the concentration amount in the blood samples is deadly enough that induce a coma."
Mickey raised an eyebrow, "I don't think anyone stays still to be injected by some random drug."
"Right, so the question is…how does it attack them?" Martha asked rhetorically. "I've checked their bodies. Not a single defensive scratch or bruise. No markings on any of the vein lines to indicate injection. The bruising on the head is normal for victims that drop in the middle of the street."
Mickey shifted the pizza box so Martha could place her files on it if she wanted. "So it's attacking from the inside. Though the question is how it gets inside without the victims noticing." He smirked in reply to Martha's smile. "I used to work for Torchwood on the other side." They headed outside of the ship, Martha had paused to grab her coat, and back to the hotel.
"I know. Have they ever seen anything like this?" Martha asked in the cold. She felt bad that she had made Mickey bring her food. The idea of using the TARDIS kitchen had been fleeting and not something she was entirely sure she wanted to do. It wasn't her ship to treat as if it were her home, she rationalized. (Though, a small nagging voice that sounded like Tish said she didn't want to go in the kitchen to avoid thinking about what happened there.)
The former dimension traveler shook his head, "Nope. I worked there for a few years, but not once did we cross something like this." He shrugged his shoulders, "I used to work with Torchwood's London branch to be fair. So it might have happened in the Cardiff branch, but locked from my security access."
"Damn," Martha muttered as she looked at the manila folders in her arms. "So, what was it like?" Mickey raised an eye brow, "being in another world?" Martha clarified.
Mickey sighed before glancing up at the clouds, "Honestly, weird!" He looked at Martha with a small grin as he held the door open. "It's like some things are the same and yet every things not." Martha listened with rapt attention as Mickey spoke about Pete's World.

Ianto found himself left alone with the Doctor's daughter. Jack had dashed in, shouted something about Gwen being in danger, and rushed back out. Jenny had attempted to join him, but was rebuffed. So the blond had been left behind, slightly pouty, slightly curious about the planet she was on.
Hence Ianto's current situation.
He was educating Jenny on bits of human culture and answering as many of her questions about the planet as possible. She had attempted once to breach the topic of her father, but he had told her didn't know much about her father. So the blond was asking questions about any and everything related to Earth.
"...what's Martha's relationship with dad?"
Ianto blinked. Her blue eyes stared up at him innocently enough. He just found out why the girl spent the past 10 minutes interrogating him, did she really think she'd catch him off guard? He raised an eyebrow as he sat his cup of coffee down.
They both were sitting in the conference room, the telly turned on but the volume muted. Jenny's body language screamed casual. Torchwood's coffee boy stared down at his coffee as he thought over the question. He didn't know much about that topic either. Jack had mentioned in passing that the Doctor fancied the human doctor. Martha never spoke of or showed signs of reciprocating those feelings. In fact that had been a source of confusion for Jack before this incident happened. His boss was convinced Martha still carried a torch for the alien, but there wasn't any evidence from her side. "They're friends." At least that's the closest to the truth he was able to get.
He was saved from answering anymore questions that he considered awkward by Mickey and Martha entering the room. They broke off their conversation to greet them. "Ianto, Jenny! How are you two holding up?" The doctor asked.
Ianto Jones was sure he could snog Martha Jones at that moment.
Not that he was the type to do such a thing.
"We're doing well." Jenny replied as she stood up and headed in their direction. Ianto sighed quietly. The blond looked between the two of them. "Have you found anything?"

Hoshi: Hey! Sorry, it's been a while it's just…this year…*shakes head* I got a boyfriend! It started out a bit rough because one of my friends didn't approve (we're not friends anymore sadly) and she caused more drama than necessary. Apparently, she was completely oblivious to the fact that he was into me since February (when we met) and she had declared that she liked him. Honestly, I stayed out of it until April. Meh, I was dragged back into it.
So, I've been happy ever since and I'm working on an original novel (that's gonna take a lot of work honestly, because my writing isn't the best).
The school year has started though…so I will be updating more frequently.
