Uiharu reads through the data on her tablet, the constant hum of the car doesn't help her anxiety that radiates through her. Aiho keeps her eyes set on the road; she didn't like the data on that tablet. Something about taking the target to an off ship that is waiting in open waters, if the target or person gets to that ship Anti-skill wouldn't be able to do anything.
The hospital comes into view, Uiharu's heart jumps in her chest as they turn into the parking lot. She nearly flings herself out of the car, moving ahead of the others, she enters the building.
"If Ivan's in the hospital why are we visiting him?" Misaka asks. "We shouldn't be wasting time here."
Uiharu bites her bottom lip keeping her mouth shut about that subject. They get the room number, she nearly sprints the whole way but they make it there with a fast half jog type of walk. She doesn't bother to knock but opens up the door to find Ivan in a hospital gown lying on the bed. By his side an open bag that begs to be seen flashes at her eyes. Inside lay those shots he used before that keeps his body from feeling pain and literally keeps him going.
She can't help it tears sting her eyes; he was pale deathly pale like he lost more than half of his blood. He glares at her, "what the fuck are you doing here," he growls the words.
"What—do you mean…I came to see how you were doing; I got the data I sent it to Ron." She sniffs trying to hold her chin in place as it trembles.
"It's a waste of time as well as dangerous, do you think they will just let me stay alive."
What does he mean let him stay alive, is someone after him? No the people he's after couldn't have that many connections, academy city was a closed off city. Realization dawns on her, Anti-skill members were mostly made up of mercenaries, and a few could not be on academy cities side.
"Mam," the voice is a male, deep and filled with authority.
All four of them turn to see a man dressed in an anti-skill uniform. Aiho gives a smile before going to shake the man's hand. "Get down!" Ivan yells as he flips his blankets off of him. The officer grabs his waist yanking a glock from its holster.
A loud 'bang!' makes Uiharu shut her eyes; a second 'bang!' goes off. A third shot goes off and the male officer moans from pain. Uiharu opens her eyes to see Aiho on her knees grabbing her right shoulder with clutched teeth; the anti-skill officer holds what is left of his right hand. His left kneecap is almost completely blown off as well blood and bone splattered on the walls and ground.
"Dumbass you were dealing with 45cal not some little 9mm." Ivan states as he stumbles out of bed. He puts the barrel of his pistol to the man's head, "but a good attempt though, so do you think your mission is really going to succeed?"
The man doesn't reply tears slide down his face, doctors and nurses crowd the place grabbing the two wounded anti-skill members before they can even say a word. The doctors however don't mess or even try to stop Ivan as he grabs the bag from the bed with his combat boots and a hoodie.
"I need to go," Ivan states pushing past them, "anti-skill will be here in no time."
"Were the hell do you think you are going!" Kuroko snaps, as she pops right in front of him.
"I still got a job to do," he hisses.
"You can barely stand," Misaka and Uiharu say at the same time.
Ivan just shakes his head, "no time to think about that I can't fail this mission no matter what happens."
"You're being selfish," Uiharu shouts, she is surprised that she even uttered the words. Usually it would be Saten or Misaka who would say them.
Ivan turns around to face her, she takes a step back his eyes are hard and wild as he towers over her small frame. "This is not being selfish I have to complete this mission. I can't fail it no exceptions, when your hired for something like that you either complete it or try dying."
"Then we can take Aiho's car," Misaka speaks out, "we need to hurry though."
Ivan nods and turns back heading out of the building, the rest follow suit. "You guys should just stay here," he says as they get to the car.
"We can't do that," Kuroko states, "this is judgment business."
"Not when they get their target to the ship its out on open water, were no country owns anything. Judgment, anti-skill and JSDF can't do anything about it. If that happens you have to leave it to me and my comrades."
"Then will come along entail then," Uiharu snaps already getting into the car.
Ivan just stares at her then shakes his head, he hotwires the care and they drive out of the parking lot. As they go anti-skill armored trucks speed pass them. It was luck that they didn't get held up there. Everyone is silent as they speed through the road going forty over the speed limit.
"You know how to reload a magazine?" Ivan asks Uiharu who sits in the passenger seat next to him.
"Shouldn't be too hard," Uiharu replies.
"Alright in the bag I got three extra magazines each carries eight rounds fill them up, the cartridges are also in the bag. Misaka I got to use your cellphone."
The girl eyes him but hands him her cell, Ivan despite everything has to stiffen a laugh. He quickly calls Ron who picks up on the second ring. "Yo."
"Yeah are you trailing them?"
"What the hell, Ivan what the fuck are you doing out of bed, you know never mind what are you doing with someone's phone?"
"Shut up, things have changed. The question is Ron, are you trailing them?"
There is a pause and the sound of Touma's voice in the background. "Yeah they are heading to the docks, we might be dealing with more than a platoon of guys this includes mages."
"So we got the imagine breaker with us. Don't sweat the small stuff, just tell the men to get boats and fast." Ivan hangs up; he tosses the phone to Misaka. "The data had a virus on it didn't it?"
"Yeah, I still got the data though." Uiharu replies.
"That's why I gave it to you, the only person I know that is a better hacker then the guys I have is you."
Touma feels his hair on the back of his neck rise. This wasn't good not at all, Ron hands him a 9mm glock pistol with four mags and a holster. "I don't really know how to use a gun," he told the guy that looked like he might rip his arms off any second now.
"Don't worry just aim and shoot, just make sure the safety is off, a bullet is already ready simple as that. You probably won't be using that though just fight the mages."
Touma gulps but nods; he straps the weapon to his hamstring praying that he wouldn't need to use it. The car continues to gain speed as they race down the freeway tailing the vehicle with Index inside. Touma's blood was on edge maybe he would use the pistol probably wouldn't hit anything but he would pull the trigger.
They turn suddenly heading into a small dock-bay. "Frost just told us to keep our distance they have ten armed guards." Given's voice is rough with anxiety; he puts a magazine into his ak-74 and pulls back the receiver.
Suddenly the side of the car is lit up with gunfire; Touma could hear the loud 'thwacks' as the rounds crack and shatter on metal. Ron swings his door open before storming out; the car was bullet proof but the moment all of them are nothing but dead meat.
A streak of yellow hits the hood of the car splattering Ron with flames. "Fucking fire mage," Given hisses. Touma slips out of the car and slaps a yellow streak of flame making it completely vanish.
Bullets crash against the car, Touma's body itches all over from how nervous he is. "Frost is getting into position we have to hold out entail then." Ron shouts returning fire on the armed men.
"Misfortune I really hate it," Touma mumbles under his breath. The group couldn't even see the whole dock unaware that Index was already in a boat and heading to an off oil carrier ship.
"Damn this rate we'll be wasted," Givens growls.
"Frosts in position those bastards are going to be running like sheep now. You hear that bastards get ready to drop!"
Touma doesn't notice the new sound of a rifle firing from a far. But he does notice when their enemies stop shooting and were out of line of sight. "What happened?" Touma asks keeping close to the car.
"Frost took out two of them with his M14; they didn't want to keep up the fight after realizing they were vulnerable." Ron explains. "Let's get a boat now we don't have that much time to lose."
