"Russenzopf"

Part 11

By Neoraichu

"My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic" is the property of others such as Lauren Faust, including Gilda, Pinkie Pie, Rainbow Dash, Rarity, Fluttershy, Twilight Sparkle, Spike and others. I believe that Cleocatra is my own OC, but I'm sorry if I'm wrong about that. This story takes place about 6 months after the events of Fanfic:"A Little Dash of Pinkie", and about a month after Season 3 Ending:"Magical Mystery Tour".

The first was fully born, a red alicorn, with a nub of a horn. Her wings were slight, and not fit for flight. But with the newborn's eyes still closed, the ability to see from them a question nobody posed.

"The newborn appears more adorable than I fear horrible."

'That's MY baby you're talkin bout there,' thought Dash hotly. The next newborn was lining itself up inside her to make its own way into the world, and she would birth him or her no matter how tired she might be. She owed her unborn at least that much.

Zecora took the first newborn and gave her a hot towel bath before putting the sleeping darling in a basket and wrapped her in blankets.

"Seeing your newborn makes me smile, though she should be fed in a while. But she needs her rest first, and the other newborn may well not be so cursed."

She returned to Dash's side as she started a new round of pushing for the other newborn. It did seem a little easier now that her birth canal had already been stretched out somewhat by the first filly. If she were lucky, the larger of the two had already been born, so this one might be just a bit easier on Dash than the first one was.

It also bothered Dash a lot that the Red Alicorn Queen was still 'watching', even though she had backed up a bit to give Zecora room to work. She shivered to think about what she might have in store for her newborn, let alone the one that was still being delivered into the world.

...

"So how was it?" asked Cleocatra.

"You know, it's been so long since I've had actual meat, I'd almost forgotten what it tasted like," replied Gilda.

"Well perhaps when we return to Alexstallia, we can get back to eating fine meat regularly," she replied.

"But about Ramses?"

"I hope he's grown up and decided to let the matter go by the time we get back."

"He's probably stubborn enough to follow us all the way up here."

Cleocatra blanched at Gilda's statement.

"I was just pulling your wing, sweetie. I doubt even he's that block-headed."

Cleocatra just laughed nervously. She just couldn't bring herself to mention the fact she had seen him several miles north of Ponyville flying above the land. It just didn't seem fair to ruin Gilda's good mood with news like that. For a second, she feared that Gilda had also see the obsessed male, but apparently she had not, much to Cleo's relief.

"It's going to be a few days for Rarity to finish your entire order," said Gilda, "perhaps we should go see how Rainbow Dash is doing. She looked like she could drop those newborn just about any time now."

"Very well, my sweet."

They made their way to the Sugarcube Corner only to discover that the place was shut down, and there was no sign to explain why. But there was some Royal Guards stationed around the place, so Gilda approached one of them to talk. He looked wary when he was approached by both a Griffon and a Hieracosphinx, but managed to maintain an air of professionalism about himself.

"Say," asked Gilda, "Why is this place closed?"

"The Princess said that Rainbow Dash was kidnapped by miscreants, and that Pinkie Pie has been arrested by the Mayor under suspicion of committing the act."

"WHAT KIND OF NONSENSE IS THAT?!" asked Gilda, her dander rising.

"I don't know," replied the Guard, "We weren't told those details."

"Oh," she replied, "Sorry about the little outburst there. It's just that I finally managed to get Dashie to forgive me for the way I treated her and her friends... and now this happens!"

"I understand you concerns."

"Then hope you get to these cretins before I do, because I promise you I'LL TEAR THEM TO PIECES FOR THIS OUTRAGE!"

"I... hope so too."

They turned and walked away.

"I think we should go see Princess Twilight Sparkle," said Gilda at last, "If anyone knows what's going on with Dash and Pinkie, it would have to be her."

"She still lives in that Library of a tree, doesn't she?"

"Yes, I believe she still does."

"It shouldn't be too hard to find then," mused Cleocatra, "but perhaps I should speak to her."

"Why?!"

"Because you're a little worked up, darling. While I care about your friend, I can be calm and diplomatic about the whole affair."

"Of course," said Gilda with a resigned sigh, "you're absolutely right, sweetie."

"Besides, I don't think it should take too awful long to find out what the Princess knows about the situation."

"I hope not."

… Meanwhile, back at the Library …

Twilight paced as the Mayor watched her nervously from the couch.

"SPIKE!" she called at last.

"Yes, oh great princess?"

"Now is not the time for that!" she growled, "Any reply from Princess Celestia yet? It's not like her to take so long to send a reply!"

"Sorry Twi," he replied, "Nothing from anyone in Canterlot. I promise you'll be the first to know as soon as I cough something up."

Twilight nodded as she paced the floor.

"You and the Mayor could use some nice smooth tea to help calm the nerves," suggested Spike.

"Ah, that's a good idea," replied Twilight, "Make it so, number one."

Spike ran off to make some calming tea.

"Isn't there some spell you could use to help find Pinkie or Dash?" asked the Mayor Mare.

"No..." she replied as she thought, "But there is a magical mirror they keep in the Canterlot Library that just might show me where they are."

"How will you get there?"

"I hope you don't mind, but I'll have to teleport there. I just can't take you or anyone else with me."

"That's fine,"said the Mayor, "I'd probably just slow you down anyways. It would be for the best if I just stayed here with Spike and waited for you to come back here."

"Thank you for understanding, Mayor." Then she shouted, "SPIKE! I'M TELEPORTING OVER TO CANTERLOT TO SEE SOMETHING IN THE MAIN LIBRARY! KEEP THE MAYOR COMPANY UNTIL I RETURN!"

"Okay!" replied Spike.

And Twilight vanished in a flash of light.

Then there was a knock at the front door.

"SPIKE!" called the Mayor, "THERE'S SOMEONE AT THE DOOR!"

"I'll get it in just a second, Mayor!"
