A/N: What up Ranger fans I'm back this one takes place a week after the end of the last one. So lets go
Darkness On The Rise
Angel Grove Memorial Hospital:
The entire Ranger team crammed into the hospital room the oncology unit. They were there to help their fellow ranger adjust to what would be her new surroundings for the time being. "Alright Sel we I think we have you all set up," David said as he tacked up one last picture .
"Yeah my baby is gonna have the coolest room in the unit," Creed said sitting on Selena's bed.
"Aww thanks babe and thank you guys," Selena said trying not to become too emotional.
"No problem Sel you're family," Julie said.
"Knock knock," said a black haired woman with scares on her face walked into the room carrying a gift bag.
"Jesse!," Selena said excited to see her ex-lover turned friend. "What are you doing here?," she asked.
"I called her," Creed said.
"Its a good thing too where you going to tell me you're sick," Jesse asked. She and Creed having established a close friendship with each other in the past year following the wedding
"I didn't want to worry you cause you're so busy with the dinner," Selena said truthfully.
"Sweet pea you have cancer you can always worry me about that," Jesse said leaning down and kissing her on the forehead
"ugh um," Creed said clearing her throat drawing Jesse's attention. "Jesse you remember the guys right?," she asked
"Of course David, Julie, Kal, Stina, Max, Shane , Troia, Lyra, Tracie , Stina, Talia and Sunset right," Jessie's said hoping she both didn't offend Creed and remembered the names correctly.
"Yes," David said and as he shook Jesse's hand. "So what's in the bag?" he asked.
"Oh a present for Sel," Jesse said pulling out pair of black soft pajamas with logos of the band Poison printed on them.
"Poison Pj's ," Selena said
"I remembered how much liked them I figured you'd like them," Jesse said. "I also put some scarfs in their too for when... well you know," she said trying not to directly remind Selena she would loose her hair.
"Thanks Jesse...umm listen guys they're gonna start my treatment early and well I want some alone time with my wife," Selena said trying not to show the fear.
"Of course come on guys," David said "Rest easy Sel."
"We'll be praying for you," Talia said as they all left the room.
"So you need anything baby," Creed asked once everyone had left.
"Just hold me," Selena said as tears began to fall from her eyes.
With that no more words were spoken in the room that night. Creed simply crawled into bed and held her wife. As they spent the night crying on each others shoulders.
The Ranger's Home/ Lab:
"Are the power rangers more harm than good? That is the question that has been on the minds of the citizens of Angel Grove following the emergence of what apparently is a Power Ranger civil war," said the news caster "While its true the Rangers have protected us for many years it clearly seems that with the large scale battle of last year a battle that which the city is still recovering as well as this new threat we have to say that the rangers are more harm than good."
"Cut Trace shit off," said an irate Troia.
"Yeah bad enough Chimera's rangers can match us even worst they have a veteran ranger on their side and the media has pretty much turned on us but now to top it all off we have to fight them one ranger down," said a frustrated David.
"Possibally two you know Creed is gonna be at the hospital every chance she gets," said Lyra.
"Maybe not," Max said "I still have the Zeonizer," she continued.
"That's only for emergencies Wildcat," Stina said clearly not wanting to her wife to don the red Zeo ranger powers again.
"She's right sis in-law," David said
" Well we might be able to help," Kimberly said as she and a still injured Cassie walked into the lab. Cassie having stitches in her head her left arm in a cast and walking on a cane.
"Don't tell me you want to suit up Cass," Talia asked.
"No its just we have a plan,," Kimberly said sitting a black case on one of the lab desk, "and it involves these," she continued as she opened the revealing one Turbo and one Astro Morpher.
"Morphers?," Shane asked with a raised eyebrow.
"Not just any morphers Ashley's," Cassie explained. "Look after our adventure on Terra Venture. We all went into retirement pretty much and kept in touch except Ash she went off the grid. I always thought it had to do with the break up of her and Andros."
"So wait you mean to tell me that a break up is what broke her brain and that's what drove her nuts?," Sunset asked.
"No not exactly something else something we didn't see," Cassie said with a deep sigh, "Andros was teaching her telekinesis which strained her mental faculties."
"That makes some sense as humans without genetic psychic abilities tend to break under the strain," Talia said.
"That and other things we found out through digging," Kimberly said. "Turns out long before she was a ranger Ashley had like a mental break down that we never knew about,"
"We also found that around the same time she disappeared. A woman tried to save a family from a burning building. Also according the records at the hospital a few months later Ashley was found and placed in the psych ward," Cassie explained.
"So you're saying Ashley had a psychotic break," David asked getting a nod from Cassie. "So what does that have to do with the Morphers,"
"Well when we fought the psycho rangers back in the day when we separated them they went down easy," Cassie explained
"Yeah but the thing is with Ashley at her side Chimera will expect it," Tracie said
"We have a plan for that we separate them into different dimensions and send you there to take them out by any means then them there especially Ashley goes and is trapped by herself with her robot doubles," Kimberly said.
"Robot doubles?," Sunset asked confused.
"Yeah Zordon built robot doubles of all the turbo rangers well the second team anyways," Kimberly said.
"Well while that seems like a plan Kim. But I've been working on something that could help us out ," Tracie said as she punched in a few keys on the computer bringing up two three dimensional pictures of two warrior like zords.
"What are those?," Sunset asked.
"These are the Phoenix Paladin and the Emerald Juggernaut," Tracie said showing off the two new zords. The Phoenix Paladin resembled a giant knight in heavy red and gold armor the shoulder blades flairing up into gold wings. As well as gold wings coming from the red helmet. The zord weiled a large sword that looked to be a cross between Stina's Phoenix guardian sword and David's star blade in one hand and a shield made of red and gold wings in the other. The Jade Juggernaut was a silver and jade in color. With to V. like shapes across the chest and a large shieled double barreled gattling cannon mounted on each forearm and missile launchers mounted on and inside each shoulder and inside its chest as well as on the side of each side. "And this is the Epyon," she said bringing up a the image of a crimson and black winged warrior like mode weilding a large sword in one hand and a black whip like weapon on its right hand the zord also had a flight mode that resembled a cross between a two headed dragon and a space fighter jet. "These are the Quasar Elite Zords, the Paladin is designed to act mainly as striker and more hand to hand combat and can ride on the back of the Star Dragon, and has powerful attack called the melee burst. The Juggernaut is the muscle loaded out to the max with fire power. And lastly Epyon is built for speed and stealth as it has cloak when its in flight mode. Together with the Star Dragon they can form the Quasar Elite mega zord and can link along with all the other zord to form the Quasar Elite Ultra zord."
"Ok two questions who are they for, and how long you have you been holding out on us with these," Kal asked.
"Primarily the Juggernaut is mine the Paladin is primarily Stina's and Epyon belongs to Selena and Creed but if need be any one of us can pilot them," Tracie explained. "As far as sitting on these I've been designing them since after Atlan and been building them since last year only finished them a few weeks ago only one catch."
"And that is?," David asked.
"We need all nine of us, for the zord configuration to work," Tracie said.
Angel Grove Hospital:
Selena sat in the chemo room fuming with anger. She hated being hooked up to the machine that was pumping radiation into her body. She hated not having her wife with her and most of all she hated the news was playing on the TV's. Hated that the city that she and her family had protected turn against them all because of one fight. It sickened her more than the chemo that flowed through her body.
"I hate the news especially, the trash they talk about the rangers," said a small voice beside her Selena looked over and saw a small pale tan skinned girl with a green wig on her head.
"So you're a ranger fan too huh," Selena said smiling at the young girl.
"Yeah sure am my name's Sara," the girl said offering Selena her hand.
"Selena," she said shaking the young girl's hand. "I like your wig."
"Thanks my hair used to be black and pretty like yours, before I got sick," Sara said , "but it always grows back."
"So how long have you been sick?," Selena asked.
"Almost two years, but I'm getting better," Sara said, "and when I do and I'm old enough I'm gonna be a power ranger."
"I'm sure you'll make a good one," Selena said smiling at the young girl. "So whose your favorite,"
"The one with the red and black armor," Sara said.
"That's mine too," Selena said with a smile.
Chimera's Lair:
"All is going according to plan," Chimera cackled from her throne. "The rangers are on the ropes and the city has turned on them.
"Yes we now have them right where we want them," Sage said with a sinister smirk
"And soon we'll be able to strike at their hearts," Rio said.
"Then no more rangers," Cade said.
"But for right now I say the eight of you go up and create a little havoc in civilian mode of course," Chimera said.
"Good gives me a little chance to test my civilian powers," Cade said.
Angel Grove Hospital:
"So how long she been out?," David asked as he and the others all but Shane Troia, and Talia sat in Selena's wearing hospital mask.
"Since she got back pretty much," Creed said trying not to appear to be too emotional. "Doctor said she'd be out of it a bit."
"So what do we do," Sunset asked as she sat on Kal's lap.
"We wait for her to wake up Sunny," Kal said stroking her hand.
"Or, you shut up and let me sleep," Selena said in a weak voice as she tried to switch positions in her bed.
"Sel you ok," David asked.
"Yeah I'm fine been though worst," Selena said trying to hide how weak she as but failing. "But could one of you get me some water."
"I got it," Creed said quickly pouring a cup of water and handing it to her wife.
"Thanks babe," Selena said. "So what's going on,"
"Well Trace and the guys here telling me about the plan they have for the Dark Rangers including some new zords," Creed said.
"Well this I have to hear," Selena said conjuring up a weak smile.
Somewhere Near Downtown Angle Grove:
"This town is so lame," Luna said as she and the other Dark Rangers walked the streets of Angel Grove.
"Well Chimera said to cause chaos," Cade said, " I've been waiting test out these new civilian powers he said his eyes glowing blue.
"I'm Game," Sage said a Crimson spark flickering in her eyes "What about you Ash?"
"I used to protect this city these people," Ashley said sounding sentimental for a moment. "AGGGGGGGGGGGYYYYYYYAAAAAAAAAAAAA," she screamed as she unleashed a concussive blast leveling a store front. "Burn it to the ground"
"That's more like it," Rena said her eyes glowing orange.
Ranger's home/Lab:
The alarms screeched startling Kimberly and Talia from the kiss the were currently sharing. Also causing Cassie and Toria to make their way into the lab. "What do got Talia," Cassie asked.
"Ashley and the Dark Rangers and they're tearing down city," Talia said. "Troia"
"On mom contacting the guys now" Troia said pressing a few buttons.
Angel Grove Hospital:
"We read you Troi what's up," David said answering the com link is his morpher,
"Chimera's team is raising hell in the city," Troia said.
"Alright we're on it," David said " Creed you coming?,"
Creed looked down at a weak Selena who was somewhere between sleeping and being awake and contemplated her options. "Creed we'll stay with her you go," Max said.
"Right lets go," Creed said before the team teleported away.
Angel Grove:
"Well look whose here," Rena said seeing the Rangers appear fully morphed in Guardian mode. She and the others then morphed into their Dark warrior modes. "lets get on with it," she said.
The two teams of rangers charged into each other and soon the area was filled with . The Rangers soon feeling pressure of the other rangers forcing them back.
"You really think you can stand with us," Ashley said striking David with her spear. "We've studied you!," she said her spear clashing with his sword. "Weakened you and now we'll destroy you."
"AGHHHHHHH!," David said as the spear struck his armor sending him realing back.
Angel Grove Hospital:
"The guys need help," said a weak Selena.
"Sel you don't know that," Max said trying to assure her friend.
"Yeah old lady relax and focus on resting," Lyra said backing up her sister.
" No I sense it Creed needs help so does Dave and everyone else," Selena said. "Bring me my bag Max."
"Ok," Max said going to the closet and getting Selena's bag and handing it to her.
Selena reached into the bag and pulled out her morpher and looked at it for a moment and made the decision she knew she'd have to make. "I'm too sick to fight right now but I swore that I'd fight as long as I had breath but until I'm well one of you take my place." she said holding out the morpher to them.
Angel Grove:
The rangers were being backed into a corner as the dark rangers seemed to match their every move. When the rangers used a double team the dark rangers countered with one of their own. To the point where the rangers where now pinned down starring at the end of the dark ranger's weapons.
"Time to end this," Rio said raising his sword over Creed's head.
"MEGA BLACK FLAME BUSTER," a voice cried as Selena's sword flew into the ground unleashing a powerful blast of black fire knocking the dark rangers back. When both teams looked up and saw appeared to be Selena standing between them.
"Sel?!," David asked.
"Guess again brother in-law," Max said picking up the sword.
"Ergghh enough!, Lets end this," Ashley said
"DARK RANGER ZORD POWER!" the dark rangers said calling forth their zords, "DARK MEGA ZORD POWER" they said forming the dark zord
"Guys I think its time we introduce them to our new friends,"
"Right with you Davie," Creed said.
"SPIRIT OF THE STAR I SUMMON THY STAR DRAGON," David said as his giant dragon flew out of the sky and he hopped into its cotpit.
"PHOENIX PALADIN COME FORTH," Stina said as a gold and red light charged through streets forming the Phoenix Paladin zord before she jumped into its cotpit making the zord flip and land on the Star Dragon's back its sword and sheild drawn.
"EMERALD JUGGERNAUT COME FORTH!," Tracie said as a giant emerald light dropped to the ground its cannons drawn before she jumped into the cotpit.
"EPYON COME FORTH!," Creed and Max, said as a giant crimson and black light zipped across the sky and Epyon appeared in its flight mode before Creed and Max jumped into its duel cotpits.
"Ok lets see what these puppies can do," David said.
"New zord no matter attack," Ashley said as the Dark mega zord began to attack the three new zords.
"Ok guys attack from all sides Trace you go first," David said conducting traffic from the Star Dragon.
"Alright bro," Tracie said. "JUGGERNAUT BERZERKER BLAST!," she said causing the zord to arm all its weapons and to fire them all at the dark Mega zord making it stagger a bit.
"UGGHH they hit us!," Sage said furious trying to keep the zord charging forward.
"Our turn ready Max," Creed asked.
"Ready", Max said
"EPYON SPEED STRIKE," the duo said flying by and clipping the dark mega zord with its wing. "EPYON WARRIOR MODE!," they said before the zord shifted into its warrior mode. "WHIP STRIKE!," they said using the whip to stop a weapon strike from the dark mega zord and binding its arm.
"Alright Davie Stina you're up," Max said.
"Alright sis lets do this. NOVA BLAST," David said charging the Star Dragon for its most powerful attack.
"PALADIN'S JUSTICE!," Stina said charging the Phoenix Paladin's sword and sheild.
"COMBINE!," they said unleashing an attack that knocked the Dark Mega zord on its back before it teleported away.
"Score one for us I guess," David said.
Chimera's Lair:
"YOU HAD THEM AND YOU FAILED! THEY WHERE IN THE PALMS OF YOUR HANDS AND YOU FAIL!" Chimera screamed.
"We weren't expecting the new zords Chimera !," Ashley screamed
"New Zords!... No matter we simply move on and adjust the plan the rangers will fall and we will win," Chimera said.
Angel Gorve Hospital:
"So you have them on the ropes," Selena said in a somewhat stronger voice to Creed, Max and David. "I knew my "cousin", was the right choice" she said "Just know when I beat this I want my suite back."
"Count on it," Max said with a smile.
"Well anyway sel we wanted to see you before visiting hours were over," David said excusing himself and Max,
" We'll be seeing you," Max said as they left leaving only the married couple alone in the room.
Once the room was empty. The did not speak Creed simply crawled into bed with her wife and held her close until they drifted off to sleep.
