Chapter Ten:
At first everyone just stared up at Scourge like maybe he was trying to trick them but finally Brick spoke. "Fire is your half-brother, I don't think that really explains why you took him in. You turned away your own litter mates when they came begging for help," she pointed out staring up at her leader like she didn't really know him any more after all she had never known Scourge to do anything out of kindness.
"litter mates?" Fire asked staring at his cousin in surprise. He hadn't know that the mighty leader of Bloodclan had siblings or that he had even more half siblings. He had figured that Scourge was an only kit and he waited for Scourge to explain.
"Yes, it is true that I turned away my litter mates Socks and Ruby," Scourge meowed his eyes narrowing when he thought of his sister and brother.
"Why did you turn them away?" Fire asked keeping his mew cold and he could feel the stares of his new clan mates fixed on him but he ignored their stares only concerned about finding out more about his half brother.
"Because they were bullies to me when we were kits. The poked fun at my size and I hated them for it. Then when I was a kit I went out into the forest and was attacked by a dark brown tabby tom. One of the cats who was chasing you is one of the cats who attacked me," Scourge growled.
"I'm sorry to hear that I hope Socks and Ruby were punished for what they did to you," Fire growled.
"I didn't punish them just gave them so food and sent them on their way," Scourge meowed to his brother.
Fire listened to his brother and nodded. "I think that was the right way to deal with them," he meowed to his brother and looked down realizing that everyone was staring at them even Bone was staring at them. "I think we should dismiss the meeting, everyone is staring at us," he muttered only loud enough for his brother to hear him.
"I think you're right," Scourge meowed. "Alright everyone get back to whatever you were doing, this meeting is dismissed," he yowled.
Fire watched as everyone slowly began to drift away to all do their own thing. "Is it okay if I do a patrol I want to make sure no outsider is anywhere around here," he meowed.
"Yes, just be careful, and don't bring any trouble for the clan," Scourge told Fire glancing at his brother before jumping of the dumpster.
"Don't worry I won't," Fire promised before jumping off the dumpster and heading out of the alley that Bloodclan called home. Once he was out of the alley he began to look around for any enemy that might have came anywhere near the alley but he couldn't see anything. Frowning he headed towards the wall that bordered the forest and jumped on top of it.
Once on the wall he looked down into the forest below and thought he saw a flicker of movement. Holding back a growl he flattened himself on top of the wall and stared down. Below him came a pale ginger she-cat, the same dark brown tabby tom that had attacked him, a white tom and, a small skinny black tom. He could see that the skinny black tom seemed nervous and it seemed to be of his enemy. 'I wonder why the black tom seems so nervous of the cat who is now my enemy. They're all forest cats and those three that attacked me seemed to get along pretty well,' he thought realizing that all four cats carried the same scent.
'They must live together,' he thought watching as the cats disappeared into the undergrowth. He had to wonder what those cats were up to but he knew that following them would be dangerous. 'I can't follow them but maybe I'll tell Scourge that I saw Tigerclaw again,' he thought. Then without even looking back he jumped off the wall landing gracefully on his paws.
He hoped that one day he would be able to get his revenge against that cat. He had never really had a hard life until he had met those forest cats and now all he really wanted was to get revenge on those cats who had tried to kill him just because he hadn't been born in the forest. He would never forgive those cats for betraying him like they did.
~Time skip~
It was like any normal day and it had been a few moons since he had seen those four cats walking around just outside the way. He didn't really think about them anymore since he spent most of his time either with his brother or Smudge. He was out patrolling with his brother, Smudge, Bone, and Fern when they ran into a strange group of cats.
"Who are you," Scourge growled glaring at the cats in front of them.
"I'm Brokenstar, and I don't you questioning me runt. Shadowclan attack," the cat called Brokenstar growled.
Fire lunged towards the cats and killed one quite easily. He could see that Smudge and Fern were fighting well against the cats who had attack him and he could see his brother fighting with the cat who had called himself Brokenstar. He watched as his brother bit into the cats throat and he smirked but before they could see if the cat was going to die a tom with scars along his pelt tacked Scourge away from his leader. Then before any of them could do anything the cats who hadn't been killed fled. He scowled wishing that the cat who his brother had been fighting hadn't been taken away before they could see if he was going to die. He could see Smudge and Fern gathered around his brother and he shoved past them just wanting to make sure his brother was okay.
"Are you okay?" Fire asked his brother.
"I'm fine," Scourge growled getting to his paws. "The three of you fought well, I think its time you get your claws fixed," he growled.
Fire was confused for a minute until he looked down at his brothers claws and saw them re-enforced with dog-teeth and then he understood what his brother was trying to tell them.
Brokenstar was still banished from Shadowclan and he still calls himself Brokenstar. I know that without Rusty having gone to Thunderclan that it would have been easier for Tigerstar to take over but I want to know if their should be a cat already in Thunderclan who thwarts Tigerstars plans and he still takes over Shadowclan.
