World 2 - The Adverse of Them: The second world that the Inu-gang find themselves in, wouldn't prepare them for what they hear. What has happened to the Kagome they usually know, this world's version of the miko is certainly different. What has happened to this world's Inuyasha. What about the rest of the group?

"Did you like the rice ball Higurashi-san?"

Kagome looked up at Izayoi and smiled. "Yes, I did, thank you Izayoi-chan."

Miroku rubbed his chin and studied something that was placed on a table just across from the rest of the group. His indigo eyes squinted to see what was the golden shine that had caught his eyes.

"What is it?" Sango asked him, noticing the concentrated expression on the monk's face.

Izayoi's ears twitched at their words and her gaze switched to the item on the table, her smile faded and she walked toward said item. "You must have noticed this, yes?"

Everyone's eyes -excluding the sleeping Inuya and the monk and demon slayer, who were staring at it - saw what was in Izayoi's hands.

"That's tetsusaiga!" Shippo blurted out. So what they've heard of this worlds Inuyasha must have been true. He must be dead. The kit looked down, crestfallen at such news that was sinking into his brain. He hated the thought of his friend - a possible father figure in their future after Naraku is destroyed, to be dead.

"Yes, this is my Chichi-ue's sword, my Sesshoumaru-Oji-sama bought it back here. He had found it in a location where I wasn't informed of."

Collective gasps were heard and the girl's ears perked up, why would they be surprised?

Izayoi tilted her head in confusion, golden eyes looking at the teen wearing the green and white uniform -weird to her eyes - whom was also looking at her, rather, what was on top of her head.

Higurashi-san was what her mother told her to call her, so she must've been how her mother looked younger, she wasn't dumb she knew who the teen was just by her scent.

Kagome knew why her older self had named Izayoi after Inuyasha's mother, the young inu-hanyō had the deceased princess's looks, her hair and heart shaped face -except for her golden eyes and dog ears - her appearance looked like Izayoi.

"Where did the wench go now," Inuyasha grumbled under his breath and his golden eyes glanced around the area. It was there, her scent, but it was faint.

The leaves crunched from under her feet and her eyes narrowed when she felt an demonic aura trailing behind her. Stopping in her tracks, she turned her head over to the side and noticed the silhouette of someone walking closer to her.

"Why did you follow me?" Kagome asked, gripping tighter to her bow, pain flashed in her eyes and she faced forwards after Inuyasha stood feet away.

Inuyasha didn't know how to answer the question, he didn't even know why he followed her in the first place. He heard her sigh and she continued on walking, muttering the words, "Forget it."

They continued on walking in silence and it was a very awkward situation for the both of them. She would glance at him for just a few seconds before turning her attention to something else.

Then, she abruptly stopped in front of the god tree. Inuyasha noticed the pained look on her face, he was about to extend his arm to console her, but she turned her back on him.

"I shouldn't be crying you know, I've always kept my emotions intact after Inuya was born, how odd isn't it? As if history was repeating itself, your father gave up his life for you and your mother. Just like him, you gave it up as well," she whirled around and dropped her bow on the ground.

"I should be furious with you, you know. But, you aren't him. I could never stay mad at you for so long, even from before, I have long forgiven you - well my husband - for dying. I am deeply saddened that my Inuyasha isn't here, but what is the reason why you are here. Did the well mix something up or…" she trailed for him to speak.

The hanyō she spoke to froze when she turned around to look at him. He finally saw the way she looked and by damn kami-sama, he gulped hard, she was beautiful. Even for the mother of two pups, having the stress of the whole village to protect and care for, kami did her wonders.

Kagome rolled her eyes,"Take a picture it'll last longer," she muttered under her breath. "What?" Inuyasha found his voice and asked her.

She covered her mouth, forgetting that he can hear her, his ears - of course - she smiled from under her hand, letting it drop moments after. Kagome chuckled and shook her head, her hand was now resting on her hip. "You know, you look cute with your hair short, but I don't think I could get use to it."

Kagome waved her hands for a few seconds,"Now we're off topic, can you tell me how you got here and from what time, please? My younger self may not know how far this time is and with Tomoya-san giving her the wrong year, well…it is best that I know which time exactly you came from. Depicting on my younger self's clothing, I'd say I'm still in high school."

"Keh! I thought you needed to patrol the area, you are always drifting off to doing on thing than another, make up your mind," Inuyasha said, crossing his arms and giving her a fish-eyed look.

"Well, determining by that I'd say you haven't matured a bit, and you are still in search for the jewel shards." She smiled in triumph, putting her hands up in the air - in fists - with sparkles in her eyes, remembering her travels.

Inuyasha 'keh-ed' once more and jumped up to one of the branches of the god tree. He looked down and slightly smirked at her. Kagome was silent, reminiscing in the way he looked. His silver hair trailing down just past his knees, which now blew in the breeze, his golden orbs staring into her azure ones.

It was as if she were younger, but it gave her a funny feeling when she'd see him like he was now, younger. Kagome imagined that her husband would've grown only a few inches, like she had grown taller after all those years, she wondered.

Her thoughts were broken when she felt a pricking sensation, she knew what that meant.

Kagome turned her head to the right, sensing another aura nearby. She heard Inuyasha jump down from the branch, landing just several feet away, poised in a battle stance emitting a low growl that was about as menacing as a dangerous dog. Kagome raised her hand to stop him, even if he was a demon -well half- she knew that he could smell it.

"It's an demon, but it is weak, let's go see if it is alright," she informed him, walking in the direction where the demon was.

Inuyasha folded his arms and followed right behind her, Why did I come here in the first place, he furrowed his brows in confusion. And why the hell would she want to know if its injured. What the hell is wrong with her?

As if she could read minds, Kagome let a soft sigh whisper past her lips,"Inuyasha, you know this village now lets in demons and this demon will not cause any harm. I met him before, so you just need to calm down, or you will lose all your senses."

Hearing that the demon was a male, most of the demons they would encounter on their journey was of course all male, but knowing that she knew the demon. It didn't settle well with him.

Arms tucked in his loose sleeves of his kariginu, he left the scowl that appeared just moments ago, walking alongside of the older miko. It was known that her power had increased, but he didn't realize it when there was a barrier surrounding the village.

Inuyasha could tell that there indeed was one, there was a faint shimmering light all around his -well his older self's- forest and that ended just at the gate of the village he thought.

"Miko-sama," they came upon the injured demon they sought, it was walking towards them when it spotted her.

The demon was in its humanoid form, so as a man, his clothing was shredded leaving a huge gash on his chest. Kagome could notice the wound was severe because of the blood that oozed out and did not stop, for a full demon such as this one to be injured, let alone fall on the ground from it - it was indeed fatal. There were four claw marks and Kagome blinked, knowing that recently many demons from afar came to the village with a similar wound.

Kagome gasped and hastily went to his side when the demon tried to stand up again, she placed a trembling hand on the demon's shoulder, much to Inuyasha's annoyance. The half demon glared at him, seeing the way the demon was looking at Kagome, he didn't like it at all.

"Sh…do not speak, try to relax and we will help you get to the village so I could tend to your wounds," Kagome said, helping him get up on his knees.

"Wait we?" Kagome gave Inuyasha a look and let a sigh escape her lips. "I was right, you haven't changed, figures." She hoisted one of the arms of the demon, putting it around her neck, she took a step forwards as well as the demon.

Inuyasha growled in irritation, preferably, he wanted to scold Kagome for doing such an act of kindness to a demon.

"Well, aren't you going to help me or not, don't just stand there." Inuyasha heard Kagome say and he shot her an bothered look, eventually he had offered to carry the demon on his back.

What took him aback was the "thank you for helping me," that the demon had said. Inuyasha had the urge to scratch his ears and say to the demon to repeat it, but he stood quiet the rest of the way when they walked back to the village.

Kagome smiled, He may think I didn't notice, seeing him look at her, but his gaze snapped back forward, Inuyasha, even if it may not be the Inuyasha I know and still love, it is good to see you again. Her grip on her bow, she unknowingly noted, loosened. Her eyes peered down, staring at the bow she had received from Mount Azusa.

"Oi! Keep up woman, wouldn't want ya to stay behind and I'm in no way capable of savin' you," Inuyasha said, noticing Kagome lag behind.

The miko felt her lips tug into a soft smile, seeing that he cared for her brought back memories, she shook her head and jogged only a little to walk beside him.

The demon on Inuyasha's back was slightly uncomfortable, he never had been helped by a miko before and he could tell that the two who helped him had a bond. It was best to just sleep, his pain washed away when the miko placed her hand on his shoulder. The half demon may have not seen the pure energy that flowed from her hand to the small scratch on his shoulder, her power seeping into his body, purifying the demonic poison he was given by another demon that had attacked him, when he was making his way to visit her.

He knew the miko several years before, helping her guide her to a village where the taijiya resided, although the last time he saw her, she was holding an infant in her arms - along with another hanyō child that clung to her hakama.

His name was Hayate, a Inugami, he was short for such a being that were usual tall and dignified. He had known just from the faded scent of the miko, she had mated with a dog demon with the similar scent of the one who carried him. Hayate had encountered the miko's brother in law, surprised to find out that it was the Lord of the West, Sesshoumaru.

Although he knew the daiyoukai didn't settle well with hanyō children, but he was use to seeing the daughter's of the miko.

His thoughts faded when a surge of sheer pain hurt his abdomen, he had heard a few choice words said by the hanyō that started to pick up the pace to get to the village.

Kagome gasped, seeing blood soak in to Inuyasha's robe of the fire rat, his back might've been soaked, but so were his sleeves. She knew that her younger self would be startled once they'd see them.

"Hayate-kun, keep your eyes open," she said calmly to him. He groaned and his eyes -surprisingly to her were red - they were wanting to flutter close because of the agonizing pain.

Inuyasha growled lowly, annoyed with the formality, much like how his Kagome would call Kouga. His eyes narrowed, if this was the future, there was no doubt that the damn wolf would stay away. Now that his future self was gone, leaving this worlds Kagome unprotected and left to care for two fatherless children.

"I- I'll t-try miko-sama," Hayate stuttered and he winced once more. Never before was he struck in that deadly way, he would have seen it coming and dodged it in a heartbeat, but the quick speed of the demon he faced.

"Tomoya-san," Izayoi said, bowing and stepping back to let the elder pass.

He had raised a hand in the air, shaking his head,"Nay young one, I will not pass because I will be going shortly. I wanted to check if everything was going alright here. I assume your mother went off to check the grounds and the barrier she holds."

"Yes," Izayoi nodded to his words, her eyes gazing at the shimmers of light in the sky, the barrier was still intact.

Tomoya nodded,"Well then, goodnight young one, I thank your Okaa-sama for protecting this village again."

Izayoi smiled, giving him a curt nod,"I'll tell her Tomoya-san, goodnight." The headman smiled at the girl and at the others, he gave them a small nod and they did also in return.

"Izayoi-chan," Sango said, when the girl had sat down by her sister to watch over her. The child turned her head around to stare at the demon slayer.

"Yes?" she said.

"If your Okaa-san placed a barrier around the village how is it that demons would be able to stay here? Would they not get purified?" Sango questioned.

Izayoi tapped her chin to think about what her mother said. "Well Sango-san, my haha-ue made the barrier so only those with good hearts and no tainted heart can pass."

Everyone's eyes widened, never knowing that capability of power.

Miroku arched a brow, fairly surprised at such news. "Might I say Kagome-sama," turning to his companion with a smile, he then continued. "You powers have grown, even I couldn't detect the power that surrounded the village. Well done."

Kagome lowered her head, blush seeping into her cheeks,"B-But Miroku-sama, it is not my doing, it is all Izayoi-chan Okaa-san-"

"But her Okaa-san is you, Kagome-chan," Sango pointed out, smiling at her flushed friend who wanted to crawl into her sleeping bag and stay in there for the rest of the night.

"Yeah!" Shippo pipped up and jumped in the air to agree with the demon slayer. "Sango's right, you are her future mother and that over there running towards the hut is you and-" Shippo had said, but he turned his head to look again.

Everyone got up from their places in the hut and edged their way to the window to see this worlds Kagome rushing in. "Izayoi, I need a bowl of water, please," Kagome - the older one - had said, holding the shoji door open to let Inuyasha in.

Kagome - the younger one - had stood up and let her older self pass by, once Inuyasha had walked into the hut, she gasped to see blood on his robe of the fire rat. He gave her a look as in not to worry when he motioned his head to the demon that was breathing heavily due to loss of blood. Miroku rubbed his neck, now knowing why the two took so long in returning.

"Inuya, sweetheart, I'm sorry to wake you but this is an emergency," their older version of their companion said to her daughter, trying to put Hayate where the young half demon laid. Sango scooped the child in her arms, smiling at the older priestess, and stepped back so Inuyasha could help Kagome - older one - put the Inugami on the futon.

Izayoi came back with a bowl of water, and on her shoulder was a damp cloth, but along in her hand were some herbs.

"Haha-ue," the eight year old said, placing the bowl down beside her mother.

"Thank you," her mother retorted, starting to tend to Hayate's wounds as soon as she got the bowl and the needs to clean and wrap his wounds once she was done.

The older priestess looked at her younger self,"By any chance do you have disinfectant with you?"

Kagome was surprised, but she nodded and rummaged through her yellow bag to look for the said item. Once it was found, her older self was about to wrap Hayate's wounds, she passed the disinfectant to her and her older self smiled in thanks.

Inuyasha went over to his miko companion, arms were now in his robe of the fire rat once again.

In all the while, once Kagome's other self was done with tending the injury, she stepped back and let out a sigh. "We made it in time," she whispered, eyes shifting towards the hanyō that stood look at her.

"Thank you Inuyasha," she said, smiling at him.

"Keh!" he said, turning his head to the side, lips in a thin line and eyes squinted, he was blushing slightly. "Whatever."

Miroku edged to Sango who held Inuya, the girl was sleeping the time away, he looked at the future Kagome and his friend.

"What do you suppose happened between them?" he asked.

Sango gasped, wanting to smack him upside the head, but she gritted her teeth -knowing the child in her arms, she glared at him.

"Leave it to you to think such things!" Sango hissed.

"It was merely a question my dear Sango," Miroku smiled and laughing nervously at the death glares shot by his half demon friend. "Right…" Sango said, rolling her eyes.
