Kili and Fili both took turned in checking up on me to make sure I'm by the fire. If Thorin saw one of them with me, he got on their case for leaving the other to watch the ponies. One can watch all 16 ponies. I would of to get out of the stare of their uncle. I think he suspects something of me. Bombur and Bofur wouldn't let me help with the food so I am basically just a burden at the moment. My elf side should of won the ailment and I wouldn't of gotten sick but the Hobbit side have won and I can't stop sniffling. Bilbo should of gotten sick also, I am just taking a stab of guessing here. But then again... he is full hobbit and I am just a half breed. I am not sure how I easily caught the sniffles as everyone else is fine. Bofur handed Bilbo two bowls full of soup, "Give those to the lads."

Bilbo gave a nod and went off to where the boys were. Bofur sat down next to me with two bowls at hand. He handed me one, "Here lass, you need it to keep warm and better."

I took the bowl into my hands and cup the warmth in my palms, "Thank you Mr. Bofur."

Bofur sipped on soup. He gave me a light nudge, "Call me Bofur, lass. No need to be so formal. We all are friends."

I mumbled, "Kind of..."

Bofur raised an eyebrow, "What was that lass?"

I took a sip of the soup. I shook my head, "Nothing, Mr. Bofur. This is a really good soup, you two have made."

Bombur heard me and gave me a smile. Bofur smiled gesturing to Bombur, "He thanks for his compliment as I thank you for the compliment lass."

I took a few more sips till Kili and Fili started to run into camp. Fili called out, "Two of the ponies have been stolen by trolls!"

I stood up looking between the two, "Where's Bilbo?"

Kili wouldn't answer. Fili tried to dodge the question. I walked towards the two. My voice became demanding, "Where. Is. Bilbo?"

Kili spoke in a whisper, "Trying to get our ponies back."

My eyes widened. I ran over to Bilbo's and my packs and I pulled out my dagger as everyone else went to get their weapons. Thorin spoke up, "You're not fighting."

I turned my head towards the uncrowned soon to be king of the dwarves. Kili spoke up, "You're sick Lynn. You shouldn't."

I stared into Thorin's eyes. Balin placed a hand on my arm, "We will be back. Be safe, lass."

The dwarves ran off to where Bilbo may lay dead for all I know. I gripped my dagger tightly. I threw it towards a tree having it lodged into the bark. It pierced through the bark with a thick thud. I pulled out my hanky and cleaned up my nose. I bent down and grabbed my arrows and bow. Thorin is sexist. I am sure for the dwarven race some women have fought along side the men. I ran into the woods. I hid behind a tree seeing a camp. I looked around to see if anyone else is near me. I ripped my dress to mid thigh. I threw the scraps of cloth to the side and I wrapped my bow around my self and my arrows in my mouth. I climbed the tree to get an aerial view. I got to a good spot and sat on the branch. I unwrapped my bow and held onto my arrows. I grabbed one and and aimed it for the lazied eyed troll. Kili shouted at the troll, "Drop him!"

The trolls turned to Kili. Bilbo is hanging upside down in the hands of a troll. Kili steaded himself and his sword, "I said drop him."

The troll holding Bilbo threw him onto Kili which was the dwarves' cue to charge in. I aimed for the troll's head. My figners let go of the nocking point as the arrow wisped through the air hitting the troll's ear. He screamed loudly gripping his ear. I aimed once again for a different troll and aimed for his neck. That one howled as blood started to drip slowly from the wound in his neck. I wasn't able to continue as the dwarves started to throw their weapons to the ground. This isn't good. I am sure Thorin and some other dwarves caught sight of my arrows and they well I mean by they is Thorin isn't happy that I am here. The trolls bagged everyone into sacks. I sniffled. I climbed down the tree. I hid my bow in a bush. I could hear the trolls started arguing what to do with the dwarves. One troll spoke up, "it's better to grill them. They need a little bit of sage."

I silently walked around the bushes till I'm close to the laying down group in sacks. I decided to let myself be known. I walked out of the shadows. I spoke up, "Uhm excuse me, trolls."

The trolls grunted looking towards me. I gave a little wave and a smile, "Oh yes, hello. I was just passing passing by after running from some nasty wolves which led my dress being torn. I couldn't help but overhear and see that you are cooking up some dwarves and hobbit. Mostly dwarves."

The half blinded troll spoke, "Who are you?"

I gave a small bow to my head and little wave to my hand, "I'm sorry, name is Adalynn Heffner. I am a Hobbit. I can guarantee you that you are cooking the dwarves wrong."

The troll turning the roll of dwarves, "Oh really?"

I gave a nod smiling clasping my hands together, "Oh yes! You uhm... you have to skin them first."

Bilbo was already standing up and slightly behind me, "Yes, I agree with her! She is correct. That is the secret to cooking up dwarves."

I gave a nod to Bilbo. The half blind troll demanded, "Give me my fileting knife."

The one turning spat, "That's a load of rubbish! I had them raw before."

The troll inbetween the half blind and the turning knob trolls went to Bombur. He picked up Bombur, "I like them crunchy."

I could hear the dwarves angerily shout at me and Bilbo for putting them into the fire. I spoke up, "Wait! Wait dear troll, I think I rather not do that unless you want to get an infection. You see that one you are holding up has a parasite."

Bilbo inserted his help, "In fact all of them have parasites."

Some dwarves were shouting at me, "We don't have parasites!"

Thorin kicked a dwarf. All the sudden they started agreeing they have parasites. I gave a apologetic smile, "See, I told you they have parasites. It would ruin your intestines."

The troll threw Bombur back to the pile and the dwarves grunted. Gandalf's voice echoed, "The dawn will take you all."

A blinding light shone through turning the trolls into stone. The dwarves started cheering as Gandalf stood ontop of the rock. I smiled breathing out. I thought the trolls will not believe any of it. I rushed over to the bush getting my bow. I wrapped it around my body and headed back to camp to help some dwarves to get out of the sacks. I don't have my knife so I am no help to the dwarves on the skewer. I helped Bilbo first by untying the strings and slid the sack down. He gave me a hug. He whispered, "I am so glad you were here and alive. When I saw them without you, I was afraid for you when you are by yourself at the camp

A soft gentle smile spread across my lips. I hugged him back tightly, "I am alright Bilbo. I only have the sniffles, nothing life threatening. Plus I would of taken on anyone who passed through."

Some dwarves called out, "Help us!"

I let go of Bilbo and started to undo Fili's strings. Bilbo, Gandalf and I continued to work our way through the dwarves. Bombur and Fili helped the dwarves on the skewer down. Kili was going through the pile of clothes such as jackets and pants and boots. Thorin's voice rang through my ears angerily, "You shouldn't of been here. You were to stay at camp and not move. You could of died."

I stood up straight. I took in a deep breath and spoke confidently, "Mr. Thorin, if I had not come you all would of been dead. It would of been just me and Gandalf. Who were to take the mountain then? Your cousin would of taken his rule if the line of Durin were to be demolished. I saved you and your company. I saved your dwarven rule. You should thank me instead of telling me what I cannot do. I am a female halfbreed yes. However, I am more than capable of defending myself, sick or not. I can easily take my part in this company other than a mere cook and something to look at. Yes dwarves go for bearded women but I am the only female you have seen for who knows how long. I am not going to stand here and be shoved to the side of any sign of danger."

Everyone was quiet. I huffed turning my heel to head to the camp to gather our things. Men. Well dwarven hardheaded men. Bilbo called out, "Adalynn! Wait up!"

Bilbo breathed out a deep breath once he saw me in view, "Adalynn..."

I looked away, "What is it Bilbo? I am not one for talking right now."

Bilbo gave me a look. I know it is the look of you are really doing this right now. Bilbo walked closer to me and he whispered, "You really going to talk all formal with me like that? You know you shouldn't. You already are calling the others with a Mister in front of it. It will cause suspicion if you don't want them to know your true lineage."

Running footsteps caught my attention. I turned to the source. Fili and Kili. Fili spoke out, "Bilbo, can we talk to Addie for a moment?"

Bilbo sighed, "Good luck. She isn't one for talking to anyone at the moment."

Kili looked at me and continued to as he walked towards me. His hands went to my arms as he held me in that spot. Bilbo called out, "Hey! Watch it!"

When his hands went to my arms and making me stay there made my startled eyes met his. He spoke lowly, "How did you know about our cousin?"

I wiggled and Kili let go of his grip. I rubbed my arms, "I hear around. Everyone heard about the dwarves and the lineage of Durin and where they are now."

Bilbo knows that since I was well I am an uncrowned princess of Eriador that my mother have told me all of the royalties in all races in case I would bump into them later on in life. And of course she had hopes one day I can be a crowned princess and be able to rule one day. My mother is the oldest of my grandfather's children so if my mother have died along with my grandfather, I would be the crowned queen of Eriador. As if Thorin were to die, Fili would take the throne of under the mountain. My elven family would want my cousin to rule instead of me. However, that isn't the way it is supposed to work. The group caught up with us. We have packed everything we own and waited where to go next. Gandalf spoke up, "Let's check out their cave as a troll would never be without a cave."

Bilbo placed his coat on my shoulders. He whispered, "You're exposing."

I instantly buttoned up his coat as it went to my knees. That is the best his coat can do and I am sure after the talk I had with Thorin that no dwarf would want to give me theirs. We followed Gandalf to a cave. I refused to go inside as the stench was worse than my cousin's diapers. Some dwarves followed Gandalf in as the rest and Bilbo stayed outside. I looked over to Bilbo, "Thank you for your coat."

He gave me a soft smile, "You saved us. I wouldn't be able to think of the plan fast enough."

I hugged myself. I am sure that the older dwarves do not want me here. I am not warrior material to them. I am just a weak female in their eyes. I now regret going on this adventure. I do care for the wellbeing of Bilbo and want him safe. And now Kili and Fili are into the picture but I could feel the hate radiating off the older dwarves except Balin. The worse hate radiating off of Thorin. I just told him off in front of his company and Gandalf and he is suspicious of me. Too bad it is already too late to head back to the Hobbit hole in the Shire. I would love to be able to sleep in and have a cup of tea with a book. That sounds marvelous right now... I looked around at the others. They are supposed to be here. What am I? A person who is piggybacking the company for an adventure while trying to prove to the dwarven men I can be as tough as them. I will not be able to prove them that though... They are stubborn hard headed dwarven men I have ever met. They aren't going to change their mind. Gandalf and the others popped back out. I noticed Bilbo holding a blade in his hands. I raised an eyebrow at this. Bofur and Ori started rushing to the group, "Somebody's coming!"

Gandalf ordered, "Come closer!"

I was instantly grabbed by someone. It felt like a big hand. I looked up at the owner and see it is Kili. I became huddled between Fili and Kili as they became my protective bubble. I don't think they were listening when I gave the speech where I can handle myself. Ori called out, "We can't run! The ponie are gone!"

Great... There goes my sack. Loud thumping started to vibrate the ground. What is coming...?
