Well, my loves, I thought I'd update "Stolen Moments," since I can't really think about anything else. Thank you for your support since the start of the story! VIVA LA KLAROLINE!
Oh, kiss me beneath the milky twilight
Lead me out on the moonlit floor
Lift your open hand
Strike up the band and make the fireflies dance
Silver moon's sparkling
So kiss me
Caroline closed her eyes and hummed a song as she stirred the sauce in the pot. She was making spaghetti and meat sauce for dinner, one of her favorites. It just seemed like the perfect food for the occasion, even if that occasion was having a nice dinner at home. As she continued to stir the sauce, Caroline felt familiar arms wrap themselves around her and a familiar pair of lips kiss her neck.
"Hello, Klaus."
Klaus smiled against her neck. "How did you know it was me?"
"For one thing, I recognize your kisses from anywhere," she replied. "Another thing, I can also sense you coming."
Klaus chuckled and took a whiff of the sauce she was stirring. "That smells delightful, love. What are you making?"
"Spaghetti and meat sauce," said Caroline. "I was in the mood for it and I decided to make some."
"Sounds perfect," said Klaus. "We can couple that with the wine I bought while I was wandering around today. A romantic meal prepared by the most beautiful lady vampire in the world deserves the best wine in all of creation."
Caroline couldn't help but giggle at what he was saying. Still, she admired the fact that he thought to pick up some wine for the occasion. She loved that about him. He always knew how to make an ordinary meal romantic.
"Well, let's not let that wine go to waste then."
Klaus smirked and, after kissing her neck one more, he left her to complete her task. Caroline smiled as she watched him go. She liked that he was so helpful, because it gave her less to worry about. It had been like that since the start of their relationship and she enjoyed all aspects of it. Klaus was the kind of guy who was always there to make an evening memorable, and if she was having a bad day, he would be there to make sure that she didn't have to feel sad anymore.
As soon as the pasta was ready, Caroline took out the bowl that her mother had given her, poured the pasta into it, and, using oven mits, carried it out to the dining room, where she heard some romantic saxophone music, courtesy of Kenny G., and saw that Klaus was lighting some candles that he had placed on the table. She even saw that he had poured the wine into two glasses, as well as a vase with red roses as the centerpiece.
Smiling at her, he said, "Is the atmosphere romantic enough, love?"
"Yes, it's perfect," said Caroline. "Seriously, Klaus, you've outdone yourself this time."
Chuckling, Klaus helped her place the bowl of pasta on the table before he placed the fresh dinner rolls in front of it. Oh, he was definitely too much. Once the food was set out, Klaus pulled a chair out, took Caroline's hand, and helped her into it before pushing it gently in front of her plate, taking a seat himself across from her, serving her first like the gentleman that he was. Caroline took a roll from the basket and tore it in half, dipping it into the sauce and tasting it. Klaus followed her motions, and, upon tasting the sauce, he gave her another smile, waiting until he was finished chewing before speaking.
"This is a delightful meal you prepared."
"Thank you," said Caroline. "Given how tonight is our anniversary, I thought I'd make a special meal." She noticed that he had sauce on his chin, tapping her own to indicate where it was. "You, uh, might want to wipe your chin. You've got sauce on it."
Klaus picked up his napkin and wiped his chin before picking up another forkful of food. Caroline watched him and, just as she was about to take a swig of the wine, she accidentally spilled some on her dress. "Shit! Damn it!"
"What happened?"
"I got wine on my dress," she replied. "This was an expensive dress and I had to go and spill wine on it!"
Klaus then got an idea and, not saying a word, vamp sped them to the bedroom, where he helped her out of the dress and gave her one of his shirts to wear. "I'll get this washed for you, love. In the meantime, you can wear this."
"You really don't have to do that," said Caroline. "I could take it the cleaners tomorrow."
"That is true, but I can get the stain out faster than the cleaners can," said Klaus. "I know that this isn't exactly the anniversary celebration you had in mind, but trust me, Caroline, it's better than letting you sit there at the table with a wine stain on your dress."
Caroline nodded. "You do have a point there." She kissed him gently. "I love you, you know that?"
Klaus returned her kiss and smiled against her lips. "Of course. I love you too."
After kissing him one more time, Caroline headed into the bathroom to slip the shirt on. She liked how it fit so snug around her and the way it smelled of him. She liked the smell so much, in fact, she wished there was a way to bottle it and sell at the fragrance department in the mall. Of course, she quickly discouraged herself from thinking that way, since she didn't like the idea of strange women smelling what was hers and hers alone.
After she had changed, she emerged from the bathroom and returned to the bedroom, finding Klaus waiting for her, a smile on his face as he marveled at her in his shirt. He couldn't help love the way it fit her. "You look absolutely stunning."
"You think so?"
Klaus then pulled her to him so that their lips were inches apart. "How's this for an answer?" He captured her lips with his in a deep and passionate kiss, moaning as Caroline returned it, wrapping her arms around his neck, reaching up to run her fingers through his hair.
A few minutes passed before they reluctantly pulled back, breaking the kiss. Caroline panted a bit before saying, "Good answer."
Klaus smiled and then escorted her out of the room, hoping that the food didn't get cold while they were distracted.
Note: Yeah, I apologize for the delay in updates. I haven't been inspired much lately. Thankfully, this makes up for it. KEEP THE KLAROLINE FAITH! KLAROLINE IS DESTINY! UNIVERSE BE DAMNED!
P.S. This was originally going to be for "Eternal Flame," but I changed my mind. Don't worry, I will do a one shot for that one. :)
