Also can you guys please hit review? I literally checked it and really? 3 reviews yet 500 readers? I feel kinda disappointed not in you guys but mostly me and that hinders my work. I feel like I MUST have disappointed you guys right? After all I mean 3 reviews of 500 people? I can understand most prefer updates on like a weekend so they have time to read, but I want to do this, please hit review, it keeps me thinking you guys want to read this.
Follows are good, Faves are nice, but the only thing that touches home to me is the reviews, to show you care to give input and ideas not just oh hey a new chapter.
Enjoy, I guess...
Ares... I held an ice sword in both hands, I was fed up, you must earn my respect and deserve my trust. You have gotten neither.
We stepped out of the waterpark, and the duo were complaining. "That was a nightmare... and now I'm wet." Annabeth said.
"Same, I'm wet in places I-"
"Lets not go there Grove." Annabeth injected.
I rolled my eyes, "Oh enough of this!" I yelled as I turned around and dropped my swords before making a shoving motion using one of my hands at either or. I closed my eyes and felt air blow toward them, I raised the temperature much to my disliking, though it was easy since it was summer I still felt discomfort in warmth, which is why I keep my body temperature well bellow normal.
They were instantly dried.
"Now enough of your bickering over damn water! I hate water and you don't see me complaining, mainly because I am about to have a little stand off against that damn God of War." I said picking my blades off, "And you should know never to temper any child of the big three. I'm already enraged at the use of water, I hate the fact I just used warm air by heating the water particles in the air, and the fact we got a detour because little miss architect wanted to go to the Saint Louis Arch. And the worst is what I discovered during that night." I said practically yelling.
Annabeth with her mothers curiosity asked, "And what would that be? How could anything be worse than the spiders or using powers you refuse?"
"Abused kids what else?! There is nothing on this world that screams heartless other than that." I said pointedly, "I've been bottling those emotions up for a fight, and Ares just became one unlucky god ticking me off." I said when we reached the parking lot.
"Huh, nice job, I didn't expect you to actually come back." Ares said, I glared picking up my swords.
"You have three seconds to either tell me what the dumb reward is, because you know ancient laws say any completed quest is given a reward no matter how simple or difficult, Flash to Olympus, or get in a fight you don't want. I've been bottling up some emotions and I know your power relies on anger, but you know I can cause damage to a god just as easily, Artemis made a decent example of what happens when you make me mad, only you have caused me to be infuriated." I said holding the swords in an X way ready to dash forward striking in every which way.
Ares didn't even seem phased, which is a bad thing, never underestimate the opponent. "Whatever kid, you're reward is the backpack, now I'm out of here." With that he flashed out.
This did nothing but add fuel to the fire, you do not, give a quest to retrieve something only for it to be the reward. "That was weird," Annabeth said cutting my train of thought.
"What?" Grover asked wanting to know.
"Isn't it strange, that Ares decided to help us by giving us that backpack? Do you think theres something about it?"
I closed my eyes and felt around only to see, I couldn't. My eyes shot open. "Hand me the bag." Annabeth did, and just as I expected when I attempted to open it, it wouldn't. "It's sealed, only some kind of presence will unlock this thing. Something or someplace extremely powerful."
"Either way we better get going, we've got... like six days or so left." Grover announced.
With that we left the road for the next stop, Party City, also known as Las Vegas.
I watched as Ares pulled that stunt, like usual when I watched Percy while my Hunt camped for the day so we could hunt the next, Poseidon was with me. Occasional Hestia would come out of the hearth until things got out of control before tending to it once more.
"Oh Percy..." Poseidon was holding a hand to his mouth. "If only I paid attention... maybe he wouldn't feel so cold."
"But if you did... I might have never known him." My mind said, I shook my head, get a grip Artemis! You're the Maiden Goddess of the Hunt, you are not a highschool girl trying to get a date for prom. You don't need a male, especially after the last time you opened up to one he nearly raped one of your hunters! Poseidon has made no good children for any of you!
"But what of Theseus? He was even a bookworm like Athena!" I couldn't think of a reason. I sighed, Poseidon made one mistake with Orion, but honestly, he has the most level headed demigods of us all.
Athena's are prideful
Zeus' are arrogant or greedy
Dionysus' are strange
Hepheastus' are socially awkward,
Apollo's are... Apollo's.
Herme's are thieves
Aphrodite's are weak and frail
Ares' are too violent
Hade's, if he had any, were usually filled with revenge,
Demeter's... well Demeter actually has good ones that are usually girls so I can't count her in the male side, but female wise she has the best.
Beyond that though, I don't see anything.
"Then what is Jack Frost to you?" HE IS NOT JACK FROST! He is a silly little mortal boy who acts like a legend but he is not he's-!
"A poor child who hardly got to know his own mother and was abused, the only person in the world he trusts is his sister who you don't even know if she likes you for what you've been doing."
I let out a louder sigh and Poseidon took notice, "Is something wrong niece, you usually take interest in my son, tough I'm not sure why."
"Fine I admit he's the only decent mortal male I've ever meet, he's kind hearted, he's strong for a male, and smart, for a male. So I guess I just don't want him to be like my father." I admitted.
"Is that so, or do you want to possibly help Jack?" HE IS NOT JACK FOR THE LAST TIME! He is Perseus Jackson! He refuses to call himself that!
"Then why is it you keep reminding him, he said he will remember his mother, he won't forget her, not that anyone could if you threaten them, but the scars of the past don't just vanish as if they were never there. They are marks of a battle, and wounds that affect the mind and heart are the most damaging, perhaps not physical, but mentally, and emotionally he is frail."
Jack isn't frail. Oh why am I thinking these things?!
"And what would that be? How could anything be worse than spiders or using powers you refuse?!" Annabeth yelled which drew in my attention.
What Jack yelled shocked me, his father, and Hestia who ran over the moment she heard the words. "Abused children what else!?There is nothing else on this world that screams heartless more than that." Hestia's hand shot up to her mouth, eyes glistening, Hestia prefers staying in a young girl's body rather than a teenager or adults, she prefers the youth over all else though she is the wisest of everyone, even Athena.
While this was going on it appeared that Percy was talking to Ares over something holding his swords in a threatening manner, did he think he could best the god of war in a sword fight? I was honestly surprised when that had not happened because he just gave back the backpack and went off to what I guessed would be Aphrodites.
I sighed when we had to stop as they were on a long drive that probably had nothing to do with us or well anything that would concern us, it's just a drive after all.
"I have to tend to the Moon Chariot, Uncle, Aunt, if anything grand occurs please contact me." Hestia sent me a warm smile, before walking towards me.
She looked up as I stood in my twelve year old form which was a bit taller than her. She whispered, "You seem to be very attached to this Jac-"
"His name is Perseus Jackson, I do not refer to any boy by names they give themself." I said.
Hestia didn't buy it and raised a brow, "Oh is that so? I did not think you've ever bothered remembering a boy's name."
Heat flushed in my cheeks and I stammered, "I-I have no idea what you're talking about, UGH! I have duties to tend to I don't have time for this!" I said trying to sound as serious as possible, but with the pink cheeks I was sporting I doubt it looked anything like that.
Time skip
I was sitting on my chariot, most would call "Santa's Sleigh." though where else would they get the idea?
"Who was she to say I liked him?" I said with my nose in the air, though the blush still hadn't faded. "Grr... get a grip, Artemis. How would you're hunters think of you, falling for a male... No wait nonsense! There's no way I'd... fall for that male! He has already harmed me and that Annabeth girl, there is no way I will accept him harming one of my favorite sister's daughter."
But my annoying voice kept coming back. "But was it not you that gave him the insentive to hate you for bringing a memory he still denied, and is it not the girl's fault as she was inexperienced with the outside world, she has been in camp for four years after all."
There was no point in doubting, for one I'd sound crazy, and two, I would not help anything in doing that. Stop worrying, he doesn't concern you, you don't give him anything. He's still a boy, afterall...
This is torturous. I thought to myself as I waited for us to reach our next stop. Which was planned to be Las Vegas before taking a rest. Grover was driving and Annabeth had been planning our motives. That was when she asked the ultimate question.
"Jack, how exactly do we get out of the Underworld, Charon certainly won't let us just come back so easily you know? And I doubt we'll be able to find three pearls that Persephone givesfor her friends to come and leave by the time we get there."
I sighed, "Grover stop the car." As I said so he did, "I have trained for long distances, it is tiring, but I can do it, enough for all three of us but only if we do it all at once. I only have my sister to practice with, thank Olympus she's a goddess, I may not be able to teleport her half as far if she was mortal it'd be easier. I still didn't trust anyone with the fact she was my sister, if anyone knew and threatened her... I don't know what I'd do... she's the only reason I feel safe. I feel like I could stay alive, Olympus knows if she were gone, how would I still be alive, she is the reason I am willing to go on after all.
I smiled at the memory, that's the last time I've smiled for something that isn't pity, empathy, sympathy. But true feelings, not because I felt bad for them, something we shared, but because I loved her. I lover her so much, she fills the void I've lost, she acts like a sister when I need something that isn't loneliness, and a mother when I need her.
I began to use my abilities. I heard Annabeth say, "Snow?" and Grover, "Wind?" It was true, there was a gentle wind that surrounded me with snow blowing around.
Giving a smirk, I caused more snow and with that my molecules changed to snow, yes snow I use snow travel if you hadn't noticed. I also caused snow to fall outside the car.
Once I was there I stiffled a laugh. "Where did he go!?" Annabeth yelled.
I knocked on the window, Grover screamed before asking, "How on earth did you get outside!?"
Rolling my eyes I opened the door and went back in. "There are several kinds of teleporting for Demigods, gods, and goddesses alike. The first is the one most Olympians use, flashing. It's usually their element or color. Silver for Artemis, Gold for Apollo. Red for Ares, etc. do you understand?" The two nodded.
"Well the next is the one Zeus uses, it's Lightning travel, some of his demigod children can use it, though it's rare, they have to have the ability to use lightning. The next is Fire travel, Hestia can use this but only between the Hearths, she primarily goes to the one at camp and at Olympus." I said flatly.
"How do you know this?" Grover asked, "Even I've never been to Olympus and I'm way older than both of you!"
"My sister," I smiled warmly, "She's pretty intelligent. Couldn't ask for a better one."
"Poseidon rarely has daughters, and the one he does is a monster. So who exactly is she?" Annabeth added in wisely. "Please don't tell me it's actually-"
I rolled my eyes, "Of course not! Di immortals! No, let's just say I was practically adopted at age 10 and leave it at that." I summoned my staff and held the tip at her throat, "Unless we have any other questions about it."
"N-no w-we're good. R-right Annabeth?" Grover said hands in the air, she nodded.
"Start driving," He did, "where was I? Ah yes Fire travel, well the next is Vapor and water travel most commonly used by those attached to water, perhaps a nymph or dryad close to water, those are most common through Poseidon's children, but I don't use that. The last I know if is Wind and Snow travel, they work together in a way. The storm causes the snow, and the snow either takes place of the person and the person place of snow. The wind helps cover it up, though it is extremely rare, my sister uses it."
"So she's a demigod?" Annabeth asked.
I raised my staff to her throat in a fluid motion, "Care to ask again?" I said with a sadistic grin?
"N-no,... oh look Las Vegas only another 150 miles away only about three hours away, maybe two and a half..." She said nervously.
Time skip because I am not making some ridiculous conversation for your entertainment, that's what the sequel and other is for.
"Finally Vegas let's parta-" Grover cheered before looking at me, I was clearly not amused in the slightest.
"I'm sorry, did you just suggest something, or did you forget there was going to be a war?" I taunted at him. How dare he... we are trying to prevent a war not have fun! "We have six days or so before the summer solstice, if you dare make that suggestion again you better hope you're under some immortal's influence or you'll receive a fate worse than frostbite, is that UNDERSTOOD?!" I screached.
They nodded. "Um... let's take a brake in one of the casinos... I hear the Lotus Casino happens to let demigods in since some work there."
I raised my eyebrow, but I gave in, they aren't trained for quests clearly. "Verywell, but be on the lookout, I have a bad feeling about this Lotus Casino. The details seem too sparse and few to accept easily."
"Yeah yeah, come on." Grover said impatiently.
Deciding against the obvious, I chose not to speak my mind, they deserve some rest. I'll give them that much, Annabeth just faced her fear and lost, Grover fainted from Medusa without any breaks, it's time they had a little rest.
I gave a fake smile, "Alright, go on."
He cheered, "Sweet and since I'm technically of age..."
I flared a little, or rather froze in my way. He flinched slightly, but I sighed, "Fine... but know that my previous threat still remains. We leave tomorrow."
Something still felt off. Especially when one of the waiters came to me, "Hello sir, we're giving free Lotus cards this week, and I have not seen you before, so please take it, works for every machine and buffet." I nodded and took the three handing them to Grover and Annabeth. "And would you like a complementary lotus? They're absolutely divine."
Definitely off. "I'll take one!" Grover and Annabeth yelled. "I heard the Lotus calms you down from stress." Annabeth reasoned.
I nodded and took one, but I didn't bite into it just squashed it so it appeared I did. I won't be fooled so easily.
"Annabeth hand me the backpack I'll head to the room." She nodded a little lazily which set me off but handed it nonetheless before dashing off elsewhere.
I looked for the waiter but he too vanished as did Grover. I put a hand to my chin, "Somethings off, and I don't like the looks of it."
As I made my way to the room I took a look at the squashed lotus. Lotus Casino...
I couldn't quite pin point it, so I tried to flash home, a far distance but with my sisters powers hopefully I can catch some wind and get there. Key word here, well you should know.
Something definitely was off, how could a building stop my powers?
Deciding I had no control over this I had to stop and take a rest, so I laid down to take a rest.
MORNING
When I woke up I realized something drastic. Annabeth and Grover had not come to me, why is that so?
Wait... somethings coming to me, yes that's it! Lotus, Lotus Casino. We are in the Lair of the Lotus Eaters and they have this way of making time slow down. I jumped out and froze my clothing on over my sleepwear (Yes he freezes his clothing on like Elsa and her dress), grabbed the backpack and dashed to the casino floor.
Looking around I spotted Annabeth playing some game involving construction. "Annabeth we need to leave!"
She looked confused, "But Jack~" She whined, pouting like a little girl, "I am just about to construct the latest installment to the city!"
I forcefully grabbed her hand away from the screen and looked her dead in the eye, "Spiders." Her eyes widened as I formed spider like appendages on my back, "And I am going to kill you if you do not realize I am being dead serious!"
"What's going on!?" She yelled in fear. I vaporized the ice.
"Lair of the Lotus Eaters, look for Grover, you have been with him more than I, you should know where he would be. I'm going to find a way out. They will notice I am aware and eventually you as well and try to keep us in. Someone is playing with strings to keep us here. I don't know how much time has past but each second lost here is countless minutes out there, meet me at the entrance in 15 minutes." Without delay she nodded.
The Lotus Casino can make ends meet when trying to get out, they slow time down, and when you are on a quest with time limits, time is something you don't have to spare. While it is true you age with the casino, what happens out of the casino is real time. Looking around you could find people who look like they were from the 1970's play a game that came out last week. Yet they look as if they were still in their prime. In truth they could be over 65 at this point or even older. Perhaps they should be dead.
The Lotus is a death trap, no and's or's or but's. This place will keep you here till the end of time. If you aren't clear sighted which was why I was able to tell, hadn't eaten a Lotus, or were a Lotus Eater yourself, you were a prisoner.
Finally I found a viable exit, it was the front entrance as most Lotus Eaters were at the elevators to the garage rather than the tourist entrance. In a sense it made sense, tourists come in for gambling, they get caught up, offered lotus' then are trapped no need to keep that on locals who needed immediate attention who were more likely for a buffet line (Being from Las Vegas myself I know what I'm talking about my parents never gamble just bet on sports or were at the buffet)
So I simply acted as if I was deciding for a choice of game or gamble to perform rather than wait. Thankfully due to the timeliness Grover and Annabeth found me. Grover looked at me, "How are we going to get out? They'll find us!"
Looking around I noticed there were three Lotus eaters looking at us. "Simple, I flash us to the car, but I need to do it all at once, I'll be tired, it's a desert here and summer, most likely during the day or afternoon, perhaps three days have gone by, hopefully, so I will most likely be useless after that. I'll flash us in the car, Grover drive immediately out and to LA as soon as possible okay?"
He nodded and looked at Annabeth, "We don't have time to play around at this point, a war with the gods in modern day, it used to be bows, swords, arrows, horses, simple fights, guns, tanks, airplanes is world war III."
I was glad they understood the seriousness of this operation. "Thanks for thinking this time." I said, I grabbed a hold of their shoulders, I closed my eyes drawing as much cold air as I could, I heard running feet right before the Lotus eaters got close I flashed us to the car and was immediately out of breath.
Grover took off out of the parking lot to the streets and onto the highway.
I looked over at the two, Grover was focused on the road, and Annabeth looked back at me smiling, "Thanks for getting us out." I nodded but this victory didn't last long as my eyes widened on the passing signs. "What is it?!" She yelled alarmed.
Having no energy to speak I pointed behind her. There was a huge sign that said JUNE 20th , we had one day to get to the God of the Underworld, and back to Olympus.
Grover turned pale, Annabeth was shaking, "We have one day left, or goodbye Camp Half Blood."
AN: MESSAGE TO THOSE READING THE CROSSOVER SEQUEL:
I have not watched Rise of the Guardians but remember I am BASING Percy off of Jack, so I did research and found out that Jack is over 300, his staff can freeze things and that's where his power is best at and cannot be touched unless they believe in him.
So BIG question! Should Percy become immortal at the end for the Frozen sequel? Should something happen to his powers to match Elsa when she is unsure? and mostly, should I make a curse on Jack that puts so much myst around him (Remember that Myst makes things invisible and therefor by some kind of strange logic unable to be felt) he cannot be seen nor touched unless they are clear sighted, know him, or know what the Myst is.
Seriously check out the song Let It Go/Let Her Go MASHUP by Sam Tsui
AND
Check out the song Shattered by Trading Yesterday.
These songs are literally helping shape the crossover I am currently writing (Because 1. I don't own the DVD yet but I totally want it, so I need to do it while its still fresh in my mind. and 2. Because who can wait for that?!)
TO EVERYONE!
Again please review because I had this chapter literally ready a week ago with just 1000 more words needed but I felt so horrible that I failed you guys (Yes I am ironic telling people they can't say they stink but I have to say that to me because I think reviews are what help the story the most)
