Time To Learn

"Are we there yet?" Buttercup, who was on Butch's back, asked.

"For the last time, no!" Butch yelled.

"Well, when are we going to be there?"

"How am I supposed to know? Ask Brick! And can you get off! I'm tired of giving you piggy back rides."

"Oh fine!" Buttercup jumped off of his back and went up to Brick to ask. Before she could even get the words out of her mouth Brick was yelling "We're here!" "What do you mean? There's no clear area here to build a cabin! You said you guys already started building some of it! There's nothing here!" Kellin yelled.

"Look above!" Boomer said happily. "Tree houses?" Buttercup whispered softly to herself.

"Yup! Tree houses! For every two people, there is one tree house!" Boomer contained explaining. "Most of the houses are almost done being built but we need to finish them today! There is an uneven number so one person can have their own tree house, but they have to start from scratch building it!" Everyone nodded. Then Brick spoke up, "Who is going to be sharing a tree house?" he asked. Alan and Austin were the first to say, and then Boomer said he would room with Brick. "I'll be by myself, I guess." Kellin said as he went to go start his tree house.

"I guess it's just us then" Butch whispered to Buttercup from behind. All she did was elbow him in his stomach. "Come one, let's get to work." Buttercup said. "Actually babe, we don't have to build ours." Butch said as walked to her. "Why?" She turned around to face him. "I have been assigned to help you learn your new found powers." He says with a smirk. Buttercup sighed. "Come on; let's find a clear area to practice." Buttercup just nodded and followed behind him.

After walking for a few moments, Butch finally came to a halt. "This should be good. Come on, let's sit down first." Buttercup just nodded and sat on the ground as well did Butch. "I'm guessing you have some questions about the powers. I may not be able to answer them all, but I can try." Butch said seriously.

"Where did they come from?" Buttercup asked simply and straight to the point. Butch chuckled softly, "I'm not a 100% sure about that one. Over the years tales and legends have been altered from their original form. But it is said that six people are supposed to rise up and bring peace throughout all three kingdoms and with time it may just become one great kingdom." Buttercup nodded slowly, trying to take everything in at once.

"And you believe that I'm one of the six?" Butch smirked. "Actually we believe that my brothers, I, and you are part of the six. Didn't you notice that we also had powers?" Buttercup just rolled her eyes. "Who are the remaining two then?" "I don't really know that one. It could be anyone really. I guess it would be someone from your village."

"Could it be someone blood related to me?" Buttercup asked. "Yes, actually it's probably more than likely. But you haven't told us of any siblings so we assumed you were an only child." Buttercup smiled, "I have two sisters." Butch's face lightened, "That's great! Fantastic even! Now we know where they are and who they are!"

Buttercup chuckled nervously, "I don't think they'll come with us if we asked. They didn't even stand up for me! They think I'm dead! They won't believe it!" Butch stood up, "Well, we have to try. We'll go find them I a few days after I've trained you for a bit." Buttercup just nodded and stood to follow Butch.

Minutes turned to hours and hours turned to days. Each with harder challenges and training sessions. Buttercup, and even the boys, had found new powers: strength, speed, heat vision. Even the young princes trained so they would be able help later on, they learned how to handle a sword and have hand to hand combat. They planned for the day were they had to get the girls and they even started to plan the day were they attack the kingdoms. Some days they would have to hide up in the trees because some of the king's men would come upon them.

Buttercup wiped the sweat off her forehead as she finished training for the day; actually the last day she would be able to train. The princes came by and patted her back while telling her words of encouragement as they set off to their cabins. "Hey guys?" The three turned around and gave her questioning looks. "Why would you all go against your fathers? Why give up the great lives you had as princes?" Kellin was the first to speak, "Those men are not our fathers. They took us away from our real families, and they forced us to fight to the death with other men until we were the final three. They forced us to kill, and we will never forgive them for that." The other two nodded and then Austin began to speak. "Even though our families were poor, we still had each other. There it seemed as if the kings didn't even spare us a glance. Family is the most important thing you can have; they'll always be there when you need them most." Buttercup smiled sadly and nodded, giving them their cue to leave.

Buttercup sighed, "Family is always there when you need them. Yeah right." She rolled her eyes as she finished dressing. "Can I come in Buttercup?" Butch yelled from outside. "Yes, I'm done." Butch quietly stepped inside to find Buttercup laying down looking blankly at the ceiling. "How are you holding up?" He asked. "What's it to ya?" she said softly, not wanting to talk about anything. "You know it's better if you talk about what's bothering you." Butch stated.

Buttercup just sighed, "I-I'm scared to see them. What if they don't want me? What if they're happy without me? What if they want nothing to do with me?" Butch shook his head, "Stop with the 'what ifs'. You'll never know until you actually try. You're their sister, they'll listen to you. It's up to you and we all believe in you."

"Why do you always have to be right, you jerk?" Buttercup said as she chuckled, lightening the mood. "Cause I'm amazing, you bitch." Both gave each other smiles and laughing at each other until night fall came upon them. "You'll do great tomorrow, everything will be fine. I promise, good night Buttercup."
